Based on the data from June 2006 to October 2007 in Shandong, the temporal and spatial distribution of lightning density was analyzed. Result showed that more lightning samples, better representation and higher accuracy can be obtaind from 13 stations layout than 5 stations layout.The high-value area of lightning density moved south to a certain extent, new high-value area appears in Rongcheng and inland areas in Bandao. The percentage of negative flash increases, accounts for 9906%. The average intensity of lightning increases, and the intensity of negative flash is significantly lower than positive flash. The yearly variation has double peaks, but the date with peak is different at different period，and the regional differences existed. And so does the daily variation. The average intensity of lightning occurs clearly with a characteristic of seasonal variation, in which there are one peak and one valley. 〖JP2〗But the dates with peak and valley are different in four regions, and the positive lightning did not appear in winter.
