By using the wind data of Jiangsu coast areas from 1981 to 2010, coast gale climate characteristics for 30 a were analyzed. The analysis indicates that days of wind speed above 6 and 8 categories in one year reduced successively. The southeast wind is the majority in summer, while the north wind is the majority in autumn and winter, however in spring, the north wind is the majority and the southeast wind is second. The north wind caused by cold air is common in winer, and the wind caused by low pressure or located in the back of high pressure usually happen in spring and summer. The thunderstorm gale occurs mainly in summer, and the wind caused by tropical cyclones is common in summer and autumn.
