On the basis of bibliometrics, having research papers of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), British Geological Survey(BGS) and Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) since 2000 to 2013 as the object of study, this paper analyzed the scientific research development tendency of these tree institutions from the number of papers, annual distribution of papers, main research fields, change of the research focuses, international collaboration, institutions collaboration, the main collaboration team, aiming at providing references for the Chinese geological survey to development.
