Geochemistry and petrogenesis for Hulu intrusion in East Tianshan, Xinjiang
-
Abstract: Hulu rock body lies in the eastern part of Kongguer Huangshan fault belt, and cover an area of about 0.75 km2. It consists of gabbros-diorite, gabbros, pyroxenites, pyroxene peridotite and peridotite. They extend mainly gradual transition, a few introduction each other. The petrochemical compositions belong to the tholeiitic series. Most of the rocks are slightly enriched in LREE, moderately depleted in HFSE(Nb, Ta, Ti). Crustal assimilation contamination was limited in their genesis, and the magma experienced fractional crystallization of olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and plagioclase. Isotopically, the rocks in Hulu mafic-ultramafic intrusion is characterized by positive εNd(t)values(+6.4~+7.1), εSr(t) values(-10.1~-9.3), except one sample εSr(t)= +3.4. and 206Pb/204Pb ratios(18.091~18.513),207Pb/204Pb ratios(15.459~15.528),208Pb/204Pb ratios (37.526~38.126). Element geochemistry and Nb, Sr, Pb isotope system indicate the magma of asthenosphere origin interlarded the magma of enriched lithosphere origin. REEs geochemical characteristics reveal that melting occur in the spinel stable field. Therefore, Hulu intrusion is the result of blending of asthenosphere and lithosphere mantle in the spinel stable field.
