摘    要:古气候变化突变事件和气候周期的发现将过去全球变化研究推进到了高分辨率的新阶段。玛珥湖在形成和保存高分辨率气候环境记录方面具有独特的优势,玛珥湖研究所取得的重要成果也显示了在过去全球变化研究方面的巨大潜力。简要回顾了玛珥湖的研究历史,从纹层、年代学、多学科多指标综合研究等方面概括了国际玛珥湖沉积与环境研究的若干进展,并介绍了我国在玛珥湖研究方面的发展情况。

Abstract:The discovery of abrupt climate changes in the past have raised an urgent request for paleo-climatic and paleoenvironmental records. Maar is typical German term representing a bowl-shaped volcanic crater cut into country rock below general ground level and possessing a low rim, which comprises the ring wall, the maar lake sediments, the diatreme, and the feeder dyke system. Maar may form under the conditions of phreatomagmatic explosion. Maar lake is the most appropriate area of forming and preservative high-resolution sedimentary record. In recent years, the research results of maar lakes suggest that the deeply potential function in the research of past global changes. Maar lakes in China are widely distributed in the different climatic belts. The present paper introduces the history of maar lake research, and the recent progress in the high-resolution studies of the past global changes, preferentially in offshore areas, its emphasis is laid on:①varved lacustrine sediment;②varve chronology, AMS14C chronology, and tephrochronology;③multi-proxy analysis; and④application of the new technique.
