Two CCD spectra of the star BM Ori were obtained with the echelle spectrograph of the 6-m telescope. In one of the spectra, a large proportion of lines are distorted by emission. The emission component is blueshifted by 50 km s?1, suggesting hot-gas outflow from the atmosphere. The equivalent-width ratio of measured lines in the spectra outside and during eclipse is consistent with the assumption that ~2/3 of the primary star’s area is obscured during eclipse, as follows from light curves. Measured line equivalent widths were used to estimate atmospheric parameters of the secondary star, T eff=7300 K, log g=5.2, and microturbulence ξt=6 km s?1, and to determine its chemical composition. The C, Na, Al, Si, S, Ca, Fe, Ni, and Zn abundances are solar, within the error limits. Li, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, and Y are overabundant, while Mg, Cu, and Ba are underabundant. In general, the secondary is similar in chemical composition to the star V 1016 Ori. Based on the secondary’s mass determined by solving the radial-velocity curve and on log g estimated spectroscopically from iron ionization equilibrium, we calculated its photospheric radius, R 2 = 0.5R . However, the spectroscopic log g=5.2 disagrees with log g=3.5 calculated from the luminosity and effective temperature and with log g=3.0 calculated from light and radial-velocity curves. If the secondary’s photospheric radius is indeed small; this argues for the hypothesis that the eclipsing body is a dust envelope. The radial velocities measured from the two spectra are systematically higher than those calculated from the radial-velocity curve by +34 and +24 km s?1. It is likely that the secondary’s atmosphere occasionally shrinks.  相似文献

UBV observations of the X-ray binary system A0535+26/V725 Tau at the Crimean Station of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute in 1980–1998 are presented. Based on our and published data, we analyze the photometric history of the star from 1898. Over a period of 100 years, the star apparently showed all three activity phases (B, Be, Be-shell) of Be stars. We conclude that the X-ray activity of the object is attributable to the 1970–1997 outburst of the Be star due to envelope ejection. The star's colors during the minimum light of 1998 and its 1953–1956 colors (before the outburst) correspond to the spectral type B0–B1 at the color excesses E B-V = 0.74 and E U-B = 0.48, in agreement with the current spectral type O9.7. The minimum light of 1998 and the color excesses are used to determine the colors of the additional radiation, analyze their evolution during the 1973–1997 outburst, and refine the distance to the object (3 kpc). The colors of the additional radiation at maximum light of the star (1973–1980) match the colors of a hydrogen plasma with T e = 1.5 × 104 K which is optically thick in the Balmer continuum. The brightness decline corresponds to a decrease in the optical depth of the plasma; at $V \simeq 9_.^m 1$ , it becomes optically thin in the Balmer continuum with T e = 104 K and N e = 1010 ? 1012 cm?3. This conclusion is consistent with the model of a circumstellar envelope but is inconsistent with the existence of an accretion disk around the neutron star. All the additional radiation responsible for the optical variability is produced by a single source. The intensity of the Hα emission line at maximum light (1975–1980) is triple its intensity in 1987–1997, when quasi-periodic light fluctuations with P ≈ 1400d were observed [1]. At this time, the line intensity correlated with brightness. The Hα line was in absorption at the minimum of 1998, and, at present, the star's active phase appears to have ended.  相似文献

We analyze ultraviolet spectra of DF Tau, a binary system whose primary component is a classical T Tauri star. The spectra were obtained from the Hubble Space Telescope and the IUE satellite. The stellar emission in the wavelength range covered is shown to originate in an accretion shock wave. The gas infall velocity is ~250 km s?1. The accreted-gas density is typically N 0≤1011 cm?3, but it can occasionally be higher by one and a half orders of magnitude. The continuum intensity near λ=1900 Å was found to be virtually constant for such a significant change in N 0. The star’s photometric variability is probably attributable to variations in accreted-gas density and velocity, as well as to variations in the area of a hot spot on the stellar surface and in its orientation relative to the observer. The mean accretion rate is $\dot M \sim 3 \times 10^{ - 9} M_ \odot yr^{ - 1}$ . The interstellar extinction for DF Tau is $A_V \simeq 0\mathop .\limits^m 5$ , the stellar radius is ≤2R , and the luminosity of the primary component is most likely no higher than 0.3 L . We argue that the distance to DF Tau is about 70 pc. Upper limits are placed on the primary’s coronal emission measure: EM(T=107 K)<3×1054 cm?3 and EM(T=1.3×106 K)<3×1055 cm?3. Absorption lines originating in the stellar wind were detected in the star’s spectrum. Molecular hydrogen lines have essentially the same radial velocity as the star, but their full width at half maximum is FWHM ?50 km s?1. We failed to explain why the intensity ratio of the C IV λ1550 doublet components exceeds 2.  相似文献

Two spectra of the star BM Ori were obtained with the 2.6-m Crimean Astrophysical Observatory telescope near its maximum eclipse phase. The light detector was a CCD array. The wavelength range 5305–5373 Å was chosen in such a way that it contained no strong primary lines. Optimum filtration of the spectra yielded a signal-to-noise ratio of ~300. Eighteen secondary lines are seen in the spectrum. Atmospheric parameters of the secondary star were determined: T eff=5740 K and logg=3.0; the secondary was classified by these parameters as being of spectral type G2 III. The best agreement between observed and synthetic spectra is achieved for metallicity [M/H]=?0.5 and microturbulence ξt=0 km s?1. The projected rotational velocity is Vsini=60 km s?, in agreement with the synchronous velocity in the hypothesis that assumes a total eclipse by the secondary star. Atmospheric elemental abundances in the secondary are estimated. Nickel, chromium, and iron exhibit an underabundance of ~1 dex.  相似文献

We carried out observation of the HADS (High-Amplitude Delta Scuti) variable GSC 4552–1498 through three filters. Our goal was to consider its periodic behavior using our photometry data in addition to previous observations. A new ephemeris and determination of oscillation modes of the star based on Fourier analysis are presented. The Two color diagram of the star as a function of its phase is shown. Finally, some of the star's physical parameters including mass, radius and luminosity are calculated.  相似文献

The present paper reports a class of new solutions of charged fluid spheres expressed by a space time with its hypersurfaces t=const. as spheroid for the case 0<K<1 with surface density 2×1014 gm/cm3. When the Buchdahl’s type fluid spheres are electrified with generalized charged intensity and it is utilized to construct a super-dense star and found that star satisfies all reality conditions except the casual condition for 0<K≤0.05. The maximum mass occupied and the corresponding radius have been obtained 8.130871 M Θ and 24.60916 km respectively. Further, the redshift at the centre and on the surface are noted by z 0=0.933729 and z a =0.383808 respectively.  相似文献

We report the discovery of a binary, HS 2233 + 3927, consisting of an sdB star with a faint companion. From its lightcurve the orbital period of 14,844 s, the mass ratio, the inclination, and other system parameters are derived. The companion does not contribute to the optical light of the system except through a strong reflection effect. The semi-amplitude of the radial velocity curve K 1= 89.6 km/s?1 and a mass function of f(m) = 0.013 M are determined. A preliminary spectroscopic analysis of the blue spectra using NLTE model atmospheres results in Teff= 36 500 K, log g= 5.70, and log(n He/n H) =?2.15. These parameters are typical for sdB stars, the companion is probably an M dwarf.  相似文献

We measured the radial velocity of the star θ1 Ori D from IUE spectra and used published observations. Based on these data, we determined the period of its radial-velocity variations, P=20.2675±0.0010 days, constructed the phase radial-velocity curve, and solved it by least squares. The spectroscopic orbital elements were found to be the following: the epoch of periastron passage Ep=JD 2430826.6±0.1, the system's center-of-mass velocity /Gg=32.4±1.0 km s?1, K=14.3±1.5 km s?1, Ω=3.3±0.1 rad, e=0.68±0.09, a1 sin i = 3 × 1010 km, and f1 = 0.0025M. Twice the period, P=40.528±0.002 days, is also consistent with the observations.  相似文献

We present LTE analysis of high resolution optical spectra for B-type hot PAGB stars LS IV-04 1 and LB3116 (LSE 237). The spectra of these high Galactic latitude stars were obtained with the 3.9-m Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) and the UCLES spectrograph. The standard 1D LTE analysis with line-blanketed LTE model atmospheres and spectral synthesis provided fundamental atmospheric parameters of Teff= 15 000±1000 K, log g= 2.5±0.2, ξ = 5.0±1.0 km s?1, [M/H] = ?1.81 dex, and v sin i= 5 km s?1 for LSIV-04 1 and Teff= 16 000±1000 K, log g= 2.5±0.1, v sin i= 25 km s?1, and [Fe/H] = ?0.93 dex for LB 3116. Chemical abundances of ten different elements were obtained. For LS IV-04 1, its derived model temperature contradicts with previous analysis results. The upper limits for its nitrogen and oxygen abundances were reported for the first time. The magnesium, silicon and calcium were overabundant (i.e. [Mg/Fe] = 0.8 dex, [Si/Fe] = 0.5 dex, [Ca/Fe] = 0.9 dex). With its metal-poor photosphere and VLSR ≈ 96 km s?1, LSIV-04 1 is likely a population II star and most probably a PAGB star. LTE abundances of LB 3116 were reported for the first time. The spectrum of this helium rich star shows 0.9 dex enhancement in the nitrogen. The photosphere of the star is slightly deficient in Mg, Si, and S. (i.e. [Mg/Fe] = ?0.2 dex, [Si/Fe] = ?0.4 dex, [S/Fe] = ?0.2 dex). The Al is slightly enhanced. The phosphorus is overabundant, i.e. [P/Fe] ≈ 1.7 ± 0.47 dex, hence LB3116 may be the first example of a PAGB star which is rich in phosphorus. With its high radial velocity (i.e.VLSR = 73 km s?1), and the deficiencies observed in C, Mg, Si, and S indicate that LB 3116 is likely a hot PAGB star at high galactic latitude.  相似文献

We analyze IUE spectra of the star 1016 Ori. Together with previously obtained visible spectra, they have allowed the wavelength range from 1150 to 7000 Å to be studied. Atmospheric parameters of the star were refined: logg=4.5(1), T eff=30000(1000) K, and ξt=15(5) km s?1. We measured the equivalent widths of ~500 lines and used them to compute the chemical composition. It turned out that the He, B, Mg, P, and S abundances were nearly solar; Ne, Ti, and Cr were overabundant; and C, N, O, Al, Si, Mn, Fe, Ni, and Zn were underabundant.  相似文献

A quantitative re-formulation of Hoyle's theory on the formation of the solar system is attempted, according to a three-dimensional scheme based on the assumption that the original magnetic field of the star is a dipole field. This allows us to obtain analytic expressions for the main paraeters describing the different phases of the process. The protostar is assumed to evolve in gravitational contraction along the Hayashi track, along which, for a given value of the radiusR 0 depending on the total angular momentum, matter begins to be shed at the equator as a consequence of centrifugal instability. However, owing to the geometry of the dipole field and to Hoyle's assumption that, for a star with a convective envelope, the sign of the inward magnetic pressure determines whether the magnetic lines do wind up or not, it turns out that the magnetic coupling between the star and the disk formed at the equator starts only when the radius of the contracting star has reached the value ofR s=4/5R 0; and that the shedding of matter stops for a radius valueR d, depending on the strength of the magnetic field. One is thus able to calculate the total quantity of matter emitted at the solar equator and the distance reached by the rings thus formed as functions of the radius of the star, of the initial values of the magnetic field, of the total angular momentum and of the structural factors of the star. The quantitative results are discussed in order to see whether it is possible to deduce the main characteristics of the disk, from which the solar system should have originated, for reasonable values of these main parameters.  相似文献

Published photoelectric measurements over a wide wavelength range (0.36–18 µm) are used to study the continuum spectrum of the star Θ1 Ori C. The model that assumes the following three radiation sources is consistent with observations: (1) a zero-age main-sequence O7 star (object 1) of mass M 1=20M , radius R 1=7.4R , effective temperature T 2=37 000 K, and absolute bolometric magnitude $M\mathop {bol}\limits^1 = - 7\mathop .\limits^m 7$ ; (2) object 2 with M 2=15M , R 2=16.2R , T 2=4000 K, and $M\mathop {bol}\limits^2 = - 5\mathop .\limits^m 1$ ; and (3) object 3 with R 310 700 R , T 3=190 K, and $M\mathop {bol}\limits^3 = - 0\mathop .\limits^m 6$ . The visual absorption toward the system is $A_V = 0\mathop .\limits^m 95$ and obeys a normal law. The nature of objects 2 and 3 has not been elucidated. It can only be assumed that object 2 is a companion of the primary star, its spectral type is K7, and it is in the stage of gravitational contraction. Object 3 can be a cocoon star and a member of the system, but can also be a dust envelope surrounding the system as a whole.  相似文献

On the basis of the mixing-length theory, macroscopic turbulent stress is incorporated into the hydrostatic equilibrium equation in our model of stellar structure and evolution. For an 8M star from the main sequence stage to the early AGB stage, the effect of turbulence was followed through calculation of the ratio of turbulence stress gradient to gravity. The results are: during the stages of nuclear burning the ratio is almost negligibly small; however, during the RGB and early AGB stages, there exists a thin layer in the outer convective layer where the ratio amounts to several units, while outside the thin layer the ratio may attain 65%. These facts have obvious effects on the central temperature of the AGB star and on the star's structure and evolutionary features at the onset of thermal pulsation.  相似文献

In this paper first ever we have developed a class of well behaved charged fluid spheres expressed by a space time with its hypersurfaces $t = \operatorname {const}$ . as spheroid for the case 0<K<1 with surface density 2×1014 gm/cm3. The same utilized to construct a superdense star and seen that star satisfies all well behaved condition for 0<K≤0.038. The maximum mass occupied and the corresponding radius are found to be 4.830982M Θ and 20.7612 km respectively. The redshift at the center and on the surface is given z 0=0.425367 and z a =0.240901.  相似文献

We consider an equation of state that leads to a first-order phase transition from the nucleon state to the quark state with a transition parameter λ>3/2 (λ=ρQ/(ρN+P0/c2)) in superdense nuclear matter. Our calculations of integrated parameters for superdense stars using this equation of state show that on the stable branch of the dependence of stellar mass on central pressure dM/dPc>0) in the range of low masses, a new local maximum with Mmax=0.082 and R=1251 km appears after the formation of a toothlike kink (M=0.08M, R=205 km) attributable to quark production. For such a star, the mass and radius of the quark core are Mcore=0.005M and Rcore=1.73 km, respectively. In the model under consideration, mass accretion can result in two successive transitions to a quark-core neutron star with energy release similar to a supernova explosion: initially, a low-mass star with a quark core is formed; the subsequent accretion leads to configurations with a radius of ~1000 km; and, finally, the second catastrophic restructuring gives rise to a star with a radius of ~100 km.  相似文献

The paper presents a new class of parametric interior solutions of Einstein–Maxwell field equations in general relativity for a static spherically symmetric distribution of a charged perfect fluid with a particular form of electric field intensity. This solution gives us wide range of parameter, K (0.69≤K≤7.1), for which the solution is well behaved hence, suitable for modeling of superdense star. For this solution the gravitational mass of a superdense object is maximized with all degree of suitability by assuming the surface density of the star equal to the normal nuclear density ρ nm=2.5×1017kg?m?3. By this model we obtain the mass of the Crab pulsar M Crab=1.401M and the radius, R Crab=12.98 km constraining the moment of inertia I NS,38>1.61 for the conservative estimate of Crab nebula mass 2M and M Crab=2.0156M with radius, R Crab=14.07 km constraining the moment of inertia I NS,38>3.04 for the newest estimate of Crab nebula mass 4.6M which are quite well in agreement with the possible values of mass and radius of Crab pulsar. Besides this, our model yields the moments of inertia for PSR J0737-3039A and PSR J0737-3039B are I A,38=1.4624 and I B,38=1.2689 respectively. It has been observed that under well behaved conditions this class of parametric solution gives us the maximum gravitational mass of causal superdense object 2.8020M with radius 14.49 km, surface redshift z R =0.4319, charge Q=4.67×1020 C, and central density ρ c =2.68ρ nm.  相似文献

In the present paper, we have obtained a class of charged super dense star models, starting with a static spherically symmetric metric in isotropic coordinates for perfect fluid by considering Hajj-Boutros (in J. Math. Phys. 27:1363, 1986) type metric potential and a specific choice of electrical intensity which involves a parameter K. The resulting solutions represent charged fluid spheres joining smoothly with the Reissner-Nordstrom metric at the pressure free interface. The solutions so obtained are utilized to construct the models for super-dense star like neutron stars (ρ b =2 and 2.7×1014 g/cm3) and Quark stars (ρ b =4.6888×1014 g/cm3). Our solution is well behaved for all values of n satisfying the inequalities \(4 < n \le4(4 + \sqrt{2} )\) and K satisfying the inequalities 0≤K≤0.24988, depending upon the value of n. Corresponding to n=4.001 and K=0.24988, we observe that the maximum mass of quark star M=2.335M and radius R=10.04 km. Further, this maximum mass limit of quark star is in the order of maximum mass of stable Strange Quark Star established by Dong et al. (in arXiv:1207.0429v3, 2013). The robustness of our results is that the models are alike with the recent discoveries.  相似文献

This paper presents a new family of interior solutions of Einstein–Maxwell field equations in general relativity for a static spherically symmetric distribution of a charged perfect fluid with a particular form of charge distribution. This solution gives us wide range of parameter, K, for which the solution is well behaved hence, suitable for modeling of superdense star. For this solution the gravitational mass of a star is maximized with all degree of suitability by assuming the surface density equal to normal nuclear density, ρ nm=2.5×1017 kg?m?3. By this model we obtain the mass of the Crab pulsar, M Crab, 1.36M and radius 13.21 km, constraining the moment of inertia >?1.61×1038 kg?m2 for the conservative estimate of Crab nebula mass 2M . And M Crab=1.96M with radius R Crab=14.38 km constraining the moment of inertia >?3.04×1038 kg?m2 for the newest estimate of Crab nebula mass, 4.6M . These results are quite well in agreement with the possible values of mass and radius of Crab pulsar. Besides this, our model yields moments of inertia for PSR J0737-3039A and PSR J0737-3039B, I A =1.4285×1038 kg?m2 and I B =1.3647×1038 kg?m2 respectively. It has been observed that under well behaved conditions this class of solutions gives us the overall maximum gravitational mass of super dense object, M G(max)=4.7487M with radius $R_{M_{\max}}=15.24~\mathrm{km}$ , surface redshift 0.9878, charge 7.47×1020 C, and central density 4.31ρ nm.  相似文献
