Dissolved silica can coprecipitate with zinc from seawater or distilled water that has been enriched with both elements. More than 2 ppm Si are necessary for the reaction to begin. The coprecipitation shows pH dependence. The addition of pulverized illite or natural sediment as suspended particulate material does not enhance the reaction in seawater. The organic material present in the nearshore seawater samples decreases the rate and extent of reaction, as indicated by comparisons of results of experiments using natural seawater with results obtained using UV-irradiated seawater. In unbuffered distilled water the reaction must compete with hydrolysis of zinc; however, reaction does occur, which indicates that the seawater matrix is not essential for the reaction. The coprecipitation can limit the concentration of zinc in seawater to less than the solubility concentration assumed for ZnCO3 or Zn(OH)2. The results suggest that a zinc silicate can precipitate directly from seawater or interstitial water as an authigenic mineral.  相似文献

In the field of ocean engineering, a beginning has been made in the use of large‐sized suction anchors for safe anchoring of large compliant structures. Suction anchors derive most of their uplift resistance from passive suction developed during the pullout movement. This article describes a set of laboratory tests on model suction anchors of three different embedment ratios to estimate the pullout behavior of suction anchors in soft clays typical of Indian marine clays. Tests were conducted on model anchors installed in soil beds prepared at four different consistencies in a test tank. This study shows the influence of soil consistency and embedment ratio (L/D) on the pullout behavior of suction anchors and on the variation of suction pressure at the top of the soil plug. The test results reveal that the behavior of suction anchors is much better than the behavior of open‐ended anchors from the considerations of both capacity and deformation. The consistent development of suction inside the anchor top confirms the plug formation and significant breakout resistance in the form of suction‐induced reversed end bearing. The results are further analyzed in terms of suction breakout factors. Further, the effect of burial depth of suction anchor on pullout behavior is shown.  相似文献

Classification of fine-grained soils is typically conducted using plasticity charts. The typically used plasticity chart proposed by Casagrande was questioned by Polidori proposing different classification criterion in separating clayey and silty soils. Using natural clayey and silty soils sampled from four different coastal sites in Korea, applicability of both Casagrande’s and Polidori’s plasticity charts was evaluated. Classification results of Korean natural soils based on the Casagrande’s and Polidori’s plasticity charts did not match well with those based on the soils’ behavior reported in the previous publication. The disagreement in classification of Korean natural fine-grained soils may result from disregard of considerable silt fraction effect on plastic and liquid limits for Polidori’s chart. Consequently, revised proposal of Polidori’s plasticity chart was tentatively made for further classification of fine-grained soils suitable for Korean natural soils by accounting the effect of silt fraction on soil classification.  相似文献

On Physical and Mechanical Behavior of Natural Marine Intermediate Deposits   总被引:4,自引:1,他引:4  
Coastal structures may be built on natural sedimentary intermediate grounds, which mainly consist of silty soils and fine sandy soils. In this study, extensive field and laboratory tests were performed on the nattwal marine intermediate deposits to demonstrate the difference in behavior between natural marine clayey soils and natural marine intermediate deposits. The natural intermediate deposits have almost the same miles of natural water content to liquid limit as those of the soft natural marine clays, but the former have much higher in-situ strength and sensitivity than the latter. The research results indicate that grain size distributions of soils affect significantly tip resistance obtained in field cone penetration tests. The mechanical parameters of natural marine intermediate deposits are also significantly affected by sample disturbance due to their high sensitivity and relatively large permeability. Unconfined compression shear tests largely underestimate the strength of natural marine intermediate soils. The triaxial consohdated compression shear tests with simulated insitu confined pressure give results much better than those of uncomfined compression shear tests.  相似文献

研究水体系中亚甲基蓝的光化学降解.结果表明,在高压汞灯照射下,亚甲基蓝在人工海水中降解得最快,蒸馏水次之,而在天然海水中降解得最慢.通过对比研究发现.重金属离子(Cu2+,Zn2+,Cd2+,Hg2+)和腐殖酸能够在一定程度上抑制亚甲基蓝的光降解;而丙酮能促进亚甲基蓝的光降解.由此可见,重金属离子和腐殖酸可能是造成亚甲基蓝在天然海水中降解缓慢的主要因素之一.  相似文献

Abstract

An experimental investigation was undertaken in order to assess the effect of sodium (Na2SO4) and calcium (CaSO4·2H2O) sulphates and curing period on stress–strain curves and failure modes of grey (GS) and red (RS) clayey soils stabilised by lime (L), natural pozzolana (NP) and their combinations (L–NP). Several soil–L–NP mixtures were studied to be used as subgrade soils for road pavements. Stress–strain curves were obtained from unconfined compressive strength (UCS) test made on several soil–L–NP specimens after curing for 7 and 120 days. Tests results showed that the use of L or L–NP without sulphates produced a significant increase in peaks stress of both clayey soils and then modified their stress–strain curves from nonlinear to linear behaviour almost up to 70% of peak stress after a longer curing period. However, the presence of 2% Na2SO4 or any CaSO4·2H2O content provided beneficial effects on peaks stress and stress–strain curves of both stabilised clayey soils and then improved their linearity almost up to 95% of peak stress after curing for 120 days. In contrast, the presence of 6% Na2SO4 caused undesirable effects. In addition, both sulphates greatly affected the failure modes of soil–L–NP specimens, particularly at a later stage.  相似文献

The solubilities and aqueous activity coefficients of polychlorinated biphenyls were measured in distilled and saline water (30? salinity). Solubilities in distilled water ranged from 3 · 10?4 g/l for dichlorobiphenyls to 6 · 10?6 g/l for heptachlorobiphenyls; values in artificial seawater were about five times lower than the corresponding values in distilled water. In both cases, the solubilities decreased regularly with increasing degree of chlorination. The corresponding activity coefficients are inversely proportional to the chlorine content and range from 4 · 107 to 4 · 109 in distilled water and from 3 · 108 to 1.5 · 1010 in saline water. Both the solubilities and activity coefficients agree well with those predicted from additivity considerations. The physical chemical aspects discussed in this paper can be applied in determining the solubility behavior of other stable organic molecules in the marine environment.  相似文献

A series of model tests were performed on steel- and Perspex-made suction caissons in saturated dense marine sand to explore installation and extraction behaviors. The extractions of the caisson were conducted by applying monotonic loading or by pumping water into the caisson. Responses of suction caissons to pullout rates, aspect ratios, and extraction manners were examined. Test results show that a cone-shaped subsidence region occurs around the suction caisson during the suction-assisted installation. The pullout bearing capacity of the suction caisson in sand is dominated by the loading rate and the loading manner. For the suction caisson subjected to monotonic loading, the maximum bearing capacity is reached at the pullout rate of about 20.0?mm/s. The mobilized vertical displacement corresponding to the pullout capacity increases with increasing the pullout rate. The passive suction beneath the suction caisson lid reaches the maximum value when the pullout bearing capacity is mobilized. In addition, during the suction caisson extracted by pumping water into the caisson, the maximum pore water pressure in the caisson is obtained under the displacement of approximately 0.04 times the caisson diameter. The absolute values of the maximum pore water pressures for the suction caissons approximately equal those of the maximum vertical resistances at the monotonic pullout rate of 5 mm/s. When the vertical displacements of the suction caissons with the aspect ratio of 1.0 and 2.0 reach 0.92 and 1.77 times the caisson diameter, respectively, the seepage failure occurs around the caissons. Using a scaling method, the test results can be used to predict the time length required for the prototype suction caisson to be extracted from the seabed.  相似文献

Amorphous silica can polymerize in distilled water, in 0.6 N NaCl solution and in seawater to form a colloidal suspension that contains approximately 200 ppm Si. Solid amorphous alumina can prevent this polymerization in seawater and in 0.6 N NaCl, and can inhibit but not prevent it in distilled water. This prevention of polymerization may be an important factor in authigenic mineral formation.The presence of solid amorphous alumina with solid silica in the same solutions causes the final concentrations of dissolved silica to be lower than those attained by solid silica in the absence of solid alumina. The effects are similar whether the final levels are approached from above or below the saturation concentration for amorphous silica. This indicates that the observed concentration of dissolved silica will be a function of available alumina as well as of the silica solubility.The presence of solid amorphous alumina with quartz in seawater, 0.6 N NaCl solution and distilled water causes dissolved silica levels to remain below 0.7 ppm Si for at least 38 days. The same systems in the absence of alumina approach the solubility levels of quartz within that time period.  相似文献

为了建立形式简洁、计算简便和普适通用的海水水质的普适指数公式,基于海水水质标准(GB3097-1997),只要适当设置海水水质各指标"参照值"和指标值的规范变换式,并对各指标的标准值进行规范变换,使所有27项指标的各级标准值的规范值都处于陆地3类水体72项指标的同级标准值的规范值范围内,从而适用于陆地水体72项指标规范值的6个水质普适指数公式也适用于27项指标规范值的海水水质评价。以厦门近海海域和长江口近海海域的海水水质评价作实例,对指数公式的实用性进行了效果检验,并与其他方法的评价结果进行了比较。结果表明:不仅6个指数公式使陆地水体水质评价和海水水质评价得到普适、统一、规范和简化,而且规范变换的思想和方法对水资源及水安全系统的研究亦有借鉴作用。  相似文献

The passive suction of suction foundations plays a significant role in pull-out resistance. The factors influencing the uplift capacity include stress state, embedment ratio, and loading rate. This article investigates the effect of embedment ratio and loading rate on the bearing behavior of suction foundations using centrifuge testing. A series of uplift tests on a suction foundation in clay were performed using a beam centrifuge. During the tests, uplift displacement, suction, and loading rate were monitored. The suction was obtained by measurement of water pressure. To compare the influence of different factors on uplift capacity due to passive suction, two types of uplift tests were conducted; the first was on the closed caisson and the second was on the vented caisson. The results show that the pull-out resistance increased with an increase of the uplift loading rate, which was induced by the suction. The maximum resistance occurred when the upward displacements reached 14%D under a ratio of skirt length (L) to diameter (D) (L/D) of 0.5 and 17%D under an L/D ratio of 2. These findings provide a way for suction caissons to resist pull-out load or for structures to be removed from the seabed.  相似文献

吸力基础与海洋工程大直径钢桩相比,具有成本低、安装周期短、对环境影响小、不受海况影响及可回收再利用等优点,近年来在海上风电工程中得到推广应用。吸力基础沉贯至海床预定位置,是其发挥承载力和确保服役稳定性的前提。海床地基土体常以分层土形式分布,且各层土体强度、压缩性和渗透性等存在显著差别,导致吸力基础吸力沉贯机理非常复杂。明确吸力基础在分层土中沉贯特性,有助于指导吸力基础在海上风电工程中的推广应用。对目前吸力基础在分层土中沉贯特性研究进行综述和总结,归纳了其沉贯机理研究进展,并对影响吸力基础在分层土中沉贯因素进行了分析;提出了分层土中吸力基础沉贯的研究方向和改进的沉贯方法。  相似文献

New measurements of the solubility of carbon dioxide in water and seawater confirm the accuracy of the measurements of Murray and Riley, as opposed to those of Li and Tsui. Corrections for non-ideal behavior in the gas phase and for dissociation in distilled water are required to calculate solubility coefficients from these sets of data. Equations for the solubilities of real gases are presented and discussed. Solubility coefficients for carbon dioxide in water and seawater are calculated for the data of Murray and Riley, and are fitted to equations in temperature and salinity of the form used previously to fit the solubilities of other gases.  相似文献

本文选择酒石酸消除海水基体对铜信号的干扰,用塞曼石墨炉原子吸收法直接测定海水中的铜。从Cu的原子化曲线可知,加入酒石酸后,背景值减小,Cu原子吸收信号增强,且出现时间提前,表明酒石酸是有效的海水基体改进剂。用P.E.Z3030光谱仪测得双蒸水及海水中的元素Cu的特征质量(m。)分别为12.5pg及12.7pg;检测限分别为0.18μg/L和0.19μg/L,表明基体效应已消除,符合海洋监测要求。可用纯Cu标准溶液作校正曲线,以国家海洋局的两个标准海水样品中的Cu评定本法的准确度,相对偏差为0及-4.6%,与经典的经富集后的FAAS法的结果相比,相对偏差在3.0—6.5%范围内。用不同类型的光谱仪测定了30个海水样品,回收率在89—104%范围内。本法操作简便、快速。  相似文献

Pentachlorophenol (PCP) and 3,4-dichloroaniline (DCA) were used as models to examine photochemical reactions in seawater.The photolysis of PCP in seawater differed in both rate and product distribution from that in distilled water; rates were slower in seawater due to the photonucleophilic interaction of PCP with chloride ions, demonstrated by the formation of 36Cl-labeled PCP in irradiated PCP solutions containing Na36Cl. DCA showed no rate change and gave identical products in both systems. Both PCP and DCA yielded greater amounts of photoreduction products in seawater than in distilled water, and tetrachloromuconic acid was isolated and identified as a new and unstable PCP photoproduct resulting from ringfission. This study demonstrates the operation of photooxidation, photonucleophilic substitution, and photoreduction reactions which differ in detail between seawater and distilled water and suggests that photochemical reactions can be a major factor in the breakdown of organic pollutants and other chemicals in the marine environment.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The aim of this experimental study is to estimate the maximum shear modulus (Gmax) of normally consolidated clayey soils using the results of a dilatometer test (DMT). A series of DMTs was conducted at the Busan New Port and Noksan sites in South Korea. In addition, basic index tests, bender element tests (i.e., shear wave velocity (Vs) measurements), and standard 1-D consolidation tests were performed using the undisturbed specimens. The results demonstrate that the Gmax of normally consolidated Busan clays cannot be adequately captured by the horizontal stress index (KD)-based empirical formula. Therefore, a Gmax estimating formula for normally consolidated clayey soils is newly suggested in this study using the dilatometer constrained modulus (MDMT) and stress-normalized material index (ID). Most notably, the estimated Gmax values using the suggested formula are comparable with the measured Gmax of both this study and the previous study on normally consolidated clayey soils.  相似文献

Soils are classified as sandy soils and clayey soils in most soil classification systems, and appropriate equations are used for practical design, depending on soil type, to represent each soil behavior. Sand-clay mixtures, however, need a special standard to evaluate their specific behaviors since they are categorized as intermediate soils or transitional soils and typically show intermediate properties. In this article, a series of cyclic triaxial tests were conducted on specific sand-fines mixtures with three fine types and various fine contents. The behaviors of various soil mixtures (silica sand with Iwakuni natural clay, Tottori silt, and Kaolin clay) were investigated by considering a concept of granular void ratio expressed in terms of sand structure. The cyclic shear strengths of the soil mixtures were also evaluated by increasing the fine content but no more than the threshold fine content. In the results, the cyclic deviator stress ratio decreased in dense soils whereas it increased in loose soils by increasing the fine content. In addition, a simple equation was proposed to predict the liquefaction resistance of sandy soils by evaluating the cyclic deviator stress ratio with a concept of equivalent granular void ratio.  相似文献

渤海湾北部海域表层海水的表观铜络合容量   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:2  
为给渤海湾北部海域重金属铜环境容量研究提供科学依据,采用阳极溶出伏安法对该海域12个站位表层海水样品的表观铜络合容量(ACuCC)和条件稳定常数(K)以及络合容量指数(CCI)进行了测定和计钟:。得到该海区表层海水的表观铜络合容量在228.0~673.4nmol/L之间,平均值为437.5nmol/L,条件稳定常数对数值(IgK)变化范围在7.41~8.84之间,平均值为7.89,络合容量指数在72.69%~92、92%之间,平均值为82.93%。表明该海域表层海水对重金属铜具有较强的络合能力。  相似文献
