Parameters were retrieved from the hyperspectral radiometer like upwelling and downwelling radiance (Lu and Ed) upwelling and downwelling attenuation (K-Lu and K-Ed) for 9 stations in the northeast Arabian Sea between 16–26 April 2006. Data was analyzed for 5 offshore and 4 coastal stations of the cruise SS-244, on board FORV “Sagar Sampada” between latitude 9-22oN and longitude 68–74°E. The peak for all parameters was observed to be different respectively for depths 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 meters in coastal and offshore stations. Each peak in the respective wavelength is due to a particular composition; phytoplankton pigments have spectral peaks at 443, 490, 555, 670 nm, suspended matter, sediments have peaks at 630 and 670 nm. Detailed analysis with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) data and comparison with the water composition of our hyperspectral radiometer results show that the marine cyanophyte, Trichodesmium bloom produces high pigment concentrations of chlorophyll-a, zeaxanthin, β-carotene and pheophytin and their absorptions are interpreted at wavelengths 443, 490, 515 and 536 nanometers, respectively. A dip around 515 nm was seen in the Ed and Lu profiles in our study.  相似文献

在假定水体表面为镜面、水体中无内光源及非弹性散射的情况下、利用多次散射理论, 研究了在固定体散射函数的情况下, 不同的入射天顶角、单次散射反照率和散射系数对向上漫射散射系数, 上、下行漫射吸收系数的影响。结果表明: 在紧贴水表的下层, 向上漫射散射系数随入射辐射天顶角的增大而增大, 但不随单次散射反照率和散射系数的改变而改变; 当入射辐射为垂直入射时, 向上漫射散射系数的深度廓线随深度呈现单调增的趋势, 并逐步接近一个恒定状态; 随着入射天顶角的增大, 该单调现象发生了变化, 出现先增大后减小, 再逼进恒定状态, 且这个恒定值随单次反照率增大而增大。下行漫射吸收系数随着入射天顶角的增大, 其廓线由单调增加过渡到先增大后减小; 在散射系数和单次散射反照率相同的条件下, 不同入射天顶角的下行漫射吸收系数逐渐收敛于同一稳定的状态。且单次散射率越小, 这种收敛的速度越快, 达到恒定状态的深度也越浅。上行漫射吸收系数的主要特征基本与下行漫射吸收系数类似, 而且两个恒定值均大于属于固有光学参数的吸收系数, 其中向上漫射吸收系数最大。  相似文献

受海底地形、开边界驱动水位及底摩擦系数等边界条件的共同影响,当前中国沿岸和近海潮汐场模拟的精度仍显不足。利用精度和分辨率较海图高一级别的水深数据、包含长周期天文气象分潮Sa的由12个主分潮组成的开边界驱动水位及顾及水深空间变化的底摩擦系数等经优化的边界条件,运行二维潮汐数值模式2D-MIKE21,开展黄海海州湾潮汐场模拟。结果表明,天文潮模拟值与海州湾周边6个验潮站1年潮汐表相比,12个主分潮综合预报误差为5.52 cm;与中国海域现有潮汐模型CST1中24个随机点位相比,12个主分潮综合预报误差为7.10 cm。天文潮模拟值和CST1预报值二者与海州湾周边2个验潮站近1个月实测值相比,前者中误差要小于后者。这为在沿岸及近海开展面向海洋测绘应用的潮汐场模拟提供了新思路,同时也表明通过数值模拟的方式构建天文气象分潮Sa是可行的。  相似文献

海洋激光雷达反演水体光学参数   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
研制了一套船载海洋激光雷达,用于探测海水光学参数垂直廓线。2017年8月,该系统在黄海海域进行了实验测量。在准单次散射模型中引入原位测量的光学参数,实现了理想激光雷达回波信号的模拟,并将该理想信号与系统响应函数卷积后精确复现了实验的激光雷达信号。采用Fernald后向迭代积分法(简称Fernald法),比较了不同水体悬浮物激光雷达比下反演的激光雷达衰减系数α与原位漫射衰减系数Kd的差别。基于停航时标定的水体悬浮物激光雷达比,采用Fernald法获得了走航时的激光雷达衰减系数。进一步地,提出一种基于米散射激光雷达数据和原位测量的后向散射数据的融合算法,模拟了高光谱分辨率激光雷达(HSRL)反演α的过程,并将其与Fernald法进行了比较。实验结果表明,自研的海洋激光雷达能够有效探测海水光学参数,基于合适的水体悬浮物激光雷达比的Fernald法可以有效应用于米散射激光雷达的反演,未来无需假设的HSRL在海水光学参数探测领域具有更大的优势。  相似文献

以黄海及东海海域为对象,研究用MOD IS数据提取我国海域悬浮泥沙时空分布的定量遥感方法,建立了基于MOD IS数据的悬浮泥沙定量遥感实用模式。研究表明,用250 m和1 000 m分辨率的MOD IS数据进行悬浮泥沙浓度的定量遥感,可以达到实际应用的精度要求。这说明,MOD IS数据是研究近岸水体中悬浮物输运变化规律的一种经济实用数据源。  相似文献

Spatial hydrographic data collected from August 2007 through May 2008 and the Princeton Ocean Model (POM) are utilized to explain and document the upwelling in the south eastern Arabian Sea (SEAS). The decrease in the magnitude of winds towards the coast favors local anti-cyclonic vorticity, resulting in the formation of cyclonic eddy and reversal of coastal currents. The Ekman transport due to alongshore winds, Ekman pumping due to wind stress curl, cyclonic eddy and southward West Indian Coastal Currents play different roles in the SEAS upwelling. In the offshore, wind stress curl leads to the formation of meso-scale eddies, resulting in Ekman pumping at the center and consequent upwelling. The rapid depth variation on the western side of Quilon Mount intensifies upwelling in the offshore. The upwelling Kelvin waves generated at the equator terminates in the Bay of Bengal and do not contribute to the SEAS upwelling. The possible role of local and remote winds, especially around Sri Lanka on the upwelling dynamics of SEAS is described utilizing POM. The Kelvin waves generated off the coast of Sri Lanka during the active phase of the summer monsoon also contribute to the upwelling dynamics off the west coast of India.  相似文献

When Hurricane Katrina passed over southern Florida, Florida Bay and the West Florida Shelf, and into the Gulf of Mexico, empirically derived chl a increases were observed in the Tortugas Gyre circulation feature, and in adjacent waters. Analysis of the empirically derived chl a increase within the gyre has been primarily attributed to initiation of a phytoplankton bloom promoted by nutrients upwelled by Katrina's winds. Detailed analysis of inherent optical properties derived from remotely sensed radiances, however, indicated the interaction of Katrina with shallow coastal and shelf waters likely entrained waters with higher concentrations of chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) into the gyre circulation, augmenting the chl a signal. Storm-induced upwelling would also transport optically active CDOM to the surface. Increases in empirically derived chl a in the Florida coastal waters influenced by Katrina's winds were therefore partly due to increased absorption by CDOM. This analysis indicates that elevated empirically derived chl a in hurricane-influenced waters should not be unambiguously attributed to increased phytoplankton productivity, particularly in an optically complex coastal environment.  相似文献

近岸/内陆水环境遥感的空间尺度问题研究包括空间变异尺度及遥感监测空间尺度需求,以及多源多尺度遥感数据及定量产品的空间尺度误差两个方面。利用长时序高分一号16 m遥感数据集高时空分辨率的综合优势,采用空间半变异函数分析方法获取了中国近岸/内陆典型水环境要素(以悬浮颗粒物为例)的空间变异尺度。基于水环境要素空间变异的连续性和泰勒级数展开理论,定量化地描述了空间尺度误差解析函数。结果表明,近岸/内陆水体等高动态水体的空间变异尺度平均在150 m以下,而外海等相对稳定水体空间变异尺度在300 m以上。随着空间分辨率的降低,受到空间变异和水环境要素非线性定量反演模型的共同影响,悬浮颗粒物的空间尺度误差显著增大,亟需重点研究区域化的尺度误差校正方法。  相似文献

Remote sensing of ocean colour yields information on the constituents of sea water, such as the concentration of phytoplankton pigments, suspended sediments and yellow substances. It is well understood that the study of ocean colour is significantly related with the primary production and zonation of potential fishing sites in coastal and oceanic waters. The major pigment constituent is predominated by chlorophyll-a (ocean colour pigment of phytoplankton). The chlorophyll mapping on regular basis plays a major role in assessing water quality and classifying different water types. IRS P-3 MOS-B satellite data for three consecutive passes of path 94, during the period of January-February 1997 have been used to derive chlorophyll-a concentration. The present study emphasizes on the chlorophyll mapping using IRS-P3 MOS-B data for the coastal and offshore water of Maharashtra coast, India.  相似文献

Indian geostationary satellite Kalpana-1 (K1) offers a potential to capture the diurnal cycle of land surface temperature (LST) through thermal infrared channel (10.5–12.5 μm) observations of the Very High Resolution Radiometer (VHRR) sensor. A study was carried out to retrieve LST by adapting a generalized single-channel (SC) algorithm (Jiménez-Muñoz and Sobrino, 2003) for the VHRR sensor over India. The basis of SC algorithm depends on the concept of Atmospheric Functions (AFs) that are dependent on transmissivity, upwelling and downwelling radiances of the atmosphere. In the present study AFs were computed for the VHRR sensor through the MODTRAN simulations based upon varying atmospheric and surface inputs. The AFs were fitted with the atmospheric columnar water vapour content and a set of coefficients was derived for LST retrieval. The K1-LST derived with the SC algorithm was validated with (a) in situ measurements at two sites located in western parts of India and (b) the MODIS LST products. Comparison of K1-LST with the in situ measurements demonstrated that SC algorithm was successful in capturing the prominent diurnal variations of 283–332 K in the LST at desert and agriculture experimental sites with a rmse of 1.6 K and 2.7 K, respectively. Inter comparison of K1-LST and MODIS LST showed a reasonable agreement between these two retrievals up to LST of 300 K, however a cold bias up to 7.9 K was observed in MODIS LST for higher LST values (310–330 K) over the hot desert region.  相似文献

Ocean color analysis and aerosol retrieval in coastal regions are made difficult by water turbidity. An algorithm has been proposed which uses the data at a blue wavelength instead of those in near-infrared wavelengths for the aerosol retrieval. The quasi-homogeneous effects are assumed for the correction of water leaving radiance with soil particles at 0.412 μm. The proposed algorithm is examined using SeaWiFS data on December 24, 2000 around India. Over the coastal waters, extremely large values of optical thickness are extracted from the operational SeaWiFS algorithm, whereas our proposed algorithm produces a smooth transition in values of optical thickness from the turbid waters to the surrounding regions.  相似文献

The two main inherent optical properties (IOPs) namely absorption and back scattering coefficients were estimated using a quasi analytical algorithm (QAA) for open and coastal ocean waters of Arabian Sea. Absorption due to gelbstoff and back scattering due to the particulate matter were calculated using the quasi analytical algorithm for all the in-situ measured reflectance spectra collected in the Arabian Sea. A comparative study was made to study the spectral variability of reflectance spectra in open as well as coastal waters of Arabian Sea. Spectral analysis was made for the absorption and back scattering coefficients calculated using the QAA for both open and coastal waters. The absorption coefficient in the open ocean waters vary from a minimum value of 0.029 to a maximum value of 0.445 and it varies from a minimum value of 0.081 to a maximum value of 4.000 for the coastal waters of Arabian Sea. Absorption due to gelbstoff or the CDOM ag(λ), calculated for the Arabian Sea waters show a variation of 0.000202 to 0.112437 for open ocean waters and it varies from 0.002848 to 2.8936 for coastal waters of Arabian Sea. Particulate back scattering coefficient for open ocean waters vary from 0.0000307 to 0.006575 whereas bbp(λ) vary from 0.000167 to 0.026014 for coastal ocean waters. The minimum slope for the open ocean waters is 0.989 and maximum value of 2.147 (average value of 1.7) was observed; whereas a minimum value of 0.046 and a maximum value of 1.201 (average value of 0.6) were observed from the in-situ spectra for coastal waters of Veraval. The slope ‘Y’ estimated from the model is 1.957 for open ocean waters and 0.515 for coastal waters collected in the Arabian Sea.  相似文献

Indian Remote Sensing satellite (IRS) 1A & 1B digital data in combination with field measurement were used to map distribution and concentration of suspended sediments along the Tamil Nadu coastal waters for monsoon and non-monsoon periods. Qualitative suspended sediment mapping was done for entire Tamil Nadu coast while quantitative studies were taken at two selected sites (eg. Tuticorin and Ennore). For qualitative mapping both monsoon (17-12-90) and non-monsoon (18-4-90) season data were analysed by level slicing technique and a qualitative scale was assigned to different sediment classes based on tonal variations. The suspended sediment concentration (SSC) samples were collected on April 15, 1992 and March 10, 1992 around Ennore and Tuticorin coastal waters respectively, synchronous to IRS-1A satellite overpass. This data was used for quantitative estimation of SSC using digital chromaticity technique. The study shows that the plumes of high suspended sediment concentration are contributed from the nearshore wetlands and river mouths and were finally dispersing towards Jaffna coast. Different classes of high to low SSC values ranging from less than 5 mg/L in offshore areas to 21 mg/L in nearshore of Tuticorin were also delineated. The dispersal pattern of the sediments on different is discussed.  相似文献

Quantification of Chlorophyll using IRS-P4 OCM data was attempted. OCM-DAS software developed by Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad was used in data analysis. The results showed considerable variations in nearshore (case 2) waters due to interference from yellow substance and suspended sediments. However, in offshore areas (case 1) the measurements showed good correlations. The r values are 0.663 for nearshore waters and 0.892 for offshore waters.  相似文献

Remote sensing has been extensively used for water delineation and has played an important role in water quality evaluation and environmental management strategies. Suspended sediments are important determinants of water quality in coastal zones. Remote sensing enables the effective monitoring of total suspended sediments (TSS) and the detection of areas with critical water quality issues. This study aims to develop and implement regression models for estimating and mapping TSS concentrations from Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS) images over the coastal waters of Langkawi Island, Malaysia. The algorithm was developed based on the water reflectance model, which is a function of the inherent optical properties of water. Such properties can then be linked to TSS concentration. In this study, an ALOS Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer type 2 device was used as the imaging sensor system. Concurrent complementary in-situ water samples were collected within the area coverage of the sensor, and digital numbers (DN) for each band corresponding to the sea-truth locations were determined. The extracted DN values were converted into reflectance values and then regressed with their respective sea-truth data. An algorithm was proposed to obtain the regression coefficient. This algorithm can estimate TSS concentrations with a high correlation coefficient (R2?=?0.96) and low root-mean-square error (RMSE?=?1.98 mg/l). Finally, a map of the TSS concentration was generated by using the proposed algorithm. This study found that TSS mapping can be conducted by using ALOS data over the coastal waters of Langkawi Island, Malaysia.  相似文献

Airborne Lidar bathymetry (ALB) is an effective and a rapidly advancing technology for mapping and characterizing shallow coastal water zones as well as inland fresh-water basins such as rivers and lakes. The ability of light beams to detect and traverse shallow water columns has provided valuable information about unmapped and often poorly understood coastal and inland water bodies of the world.Estimating ALB survey results at varying water clarity and depth conditions is essential for realizing project expectations and preparing budgets accordingly. In remote locations of the world where in situ water clarity measurements are not feasible or possible, using multiband satellite imagery can be an effective tool for estimating and addressing such considerations.For this purpose, we studied and classified reflected electromagnetic energy from selected water bodies acquired by RapidEye sensor and then correlated findings with ALB survey results. This study was focused not on accurately measuring depth from optical bathymetry but rather on using multiband satellite imagery to quickly predict ALB survey results and identify potentially turbid water bodies with limited depth penetration. For this study, we constructed an in-house algorithm to confirm ALB survey findings using bathymetric waveform information.The study findings are expected to contribute to the ongoing understanding of forecasting ALB survey expectations in unknown and varying water conditions, especially in remote and inaccessible parts of the world.  相似文献

This article investigates the performance of MERIS reduced resolution data to monitor water quality parameters in the Berau estuary waters, Indonesia. Total suspended matter (TSM), Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration and diffuse attenuation coefficient (Kd ) were derived from MERIS data using three different algorithms for coastal waters: standard global processor (MERIS L2), C2R and FUB. The outcomes were compared to in situ measurements collected in 2007. MERIS data processed with C2R gave the best retrieval of Chl-a, while MERIS L2 performed the best for TSM retrieval, but large deviations from in situ data were observed, pointing at inversion problems over these tropical waters for all standard processors. Nevertheless, MERIS can be of use for monitoring equatorial coastal waters like the Berau estuary and reef system. Applying a Kd (490) local algorithm to the MERIS RR data over the study area showed a sufficient good correlation to the in situ measurements (R 2 = 0.77).  相似文献

An area of about 1100 sq.km forming a part of east coast of India was taken for digital analysis using the VAX 11/780 image analysis computer system. The data used for the analysis is Thematic mapper data of Landsat 5. By using the maximum likelihood algorithm and the existing ground truth, the area was classified geomorphologicall.. In addition a qualitative mapping of suspended sediments of coastal waters in Bay of Bengal around the estuary of Dhamra river in Orissa has been carried out. In seventeen classes, eleven correspond to geomorphic units and six belongs to different categories of sediments concentration in Coastal waters.  相似文献

The objective of the research was to undertake a quantitative comparison of spectral-reflectance measurements made slightly above the surface of water bodies with the measurements made slightly below the surface. The study is focused on three rivers; two in Georgia, USA and one in Japan. As expected, the differences in reflectance are not constant and vary with the wavelength. The contribution of surface-reflection effects to the surface reflectance measured slightly above the water is both pronounced and highly variable, but although they do alter the magnitude of the upwelling signal, they do not change the general shape of the spectral profiles. The correction of surface-reflection effects by assuming a proportionality factor (ρ) is not considered to be efficient for inland fresh water bodies. For in situ spectroscopy, the recommended approach is to measure upwelling radiance slightly below the water's surface as a means of minimizing extraneous noise. Researchers should be aware of the potential for diminishing the validity of findings because of measurement errors.  相似文献
