Summary Standard charts from which a complete solution of the vertical magnetic anomalies of dipping doublets can be obtained very rapidly are derived and presented. The most important distances to be scaled from the field profile are the distances between the maximum and minimum anomalies, half maximum anomalies and one-third maximum anomalies only. The use of the charts for claculating the various parameters and locating the origin is also incorporated.  相似文献

Summary A simple method for the interpretation of the vertical magnetic anomalies of dipping doublets is presented. In the first step, the line integrals of the anomalies along theX direction, which represent the anomalies of a vertical line double are utilised to obtain the depths to the two poles. The topography of the inner core is crucial to understand its growth process and interaction with the geodynamo. With the accuracy of teleseismic waveform doublets in determining the travel-time shifts between PKPcd and PKPdf inner-core phases, we examined the temporal change of the inner-core boundary sampled by new earthquake doublets that occurred in the Western Pacific and those previously found from the South Sandwich Islands. The receiver stations are those within the distance range of 128°–142° from the hypocenters of the waveform doublets. Our results suggest that temporal changes in PKPcd-PKPdf differential times are very subtle except some isolated regions under central America and Africa. The observations may indicate localized topography of the inner core and/or the inner-core boundary as transient slurry in isolated regions.  相似文献

通过提出时空比例系数fts,从而引入时空距离这一概念,并因此将地震事件的时空属性耦合在一起.借助时空距离概念,对华北地区公元1500年以来的强震对进行了时空相关性分析.结果表明,当fts取10km/a时,强震对沿时空距离轴大致分为两类:时空距离小于140km的强震对彼此具有一定成因关系;而相距280km以上的强震则为互相独立的地震事件.该特征可为华北地区强震迁移规律的总结以及趋势预测提供参考.   相似文献

利用重庆数字地震台网2010年1月至2017年12月的地震波形资料和观测报告,选出5个研究区1 251个M_L≥1.5地震进行波形互相关计算,识别出358对同时被2个地震台站记录且各台波形互相关系数(cc)不小于0.8的重复地震对,涉及342个地震事件,约占地震总数的27%。将筛选出的重复地震对用于定量判断地震目录中震相拾取误差及评估台网定位精度,结果显示:重庆数字地震台网的垂直定位误差约为3 km,水平定位误差约为5 km,Pg、Sg震相拾取误差分别为0.5 s和0.7 s;其中武隆区地震定位和震相拾取精度最高,綦江区最低。  相似文献

Three synthetic Fe3+ bearing γ-Fe2SiO4 were analyzed usingelectron probe method, and the Mssbauer spectra of the samples at 298 K, 150 K, and 95 K were measured. Each spectrum at three temperatures is composed of two doublets. These two doublets are assigned to Fe2+ in the octahedral sites and Fe3+ in the tetrahedral sites, respectively. Site occupancies were determined. The results show that Fe3+ and a small amount of Si4+ are in the tetrahedral and octahedral sites, respectively. The average bond lengths of the octahedral and tetrahedral sites were calculated according to the equations primarily given by Hill et al., O’Neill and Navrotsky and modified by the authors. Furthermore, the octahedral and tetrahedral bond lengths were used to calculate cell parameters and oxygen parameters. In addition, Fe3+ line broadening in the M?ssbauer spectra of Fe3+ bearing γ-Fe2SiO4 were interpreted by using the next nearest neighbor effects.  相似文献

We analyse spectral ratio of the coda of doublets of microearthquakes. Our purpose is to find evidence for temporal changes of the attenuation in the crust before a large magnitude earthquake. A Moving Window Cross Spectral analysis of the coda of doublets gives a plot of the spectral ratio as a function of lapse time along the seismogram, for several frequency bands (SR(T, f) plot). From a certain pattern in theSR(T, f) plot, we should infer a temporal change in coda attenuation. Several doublets recorded in Central California by the USGS network are analysed.Using events very close in time from one another, we show that the radiation pattern can be different enough to induce important variations in the spectral ratio of the first arrivals and of the coda.Another doublet exhibits a strong variation of the low frequencies for stations in the region of Hollister (California), wherePhillips andAki (1986) have noted a strong amplification of low frequencies, that they attribute to site effects on unconsolidated sediments in the fault zone. These variations could be related to slight changes in local conditions (creep, or water table).On the other hand, some doublets, in the vicinity and close in time to the August 1979 Coyote Lake Earthquake (M=5.9), show no variation inSR(T, f) related to this earthquake: this proves that there was no major change in attenuation in the crust preceding this large shock. If a change occurred, it should have been confined to a very limited region, which was not sampled by the many paths we studied.The employed method probably provides today the most accurate estimation of spectral ratio in the coda of microearthquakes. It shows that there are numerous kinds of variations and that it is not straightforward to relate them to coda attenuation changes only. Also, we must be circumspect when dealing with the coda of microearthquakes in relation to forecasting earthquakes.  相似文献

The following criteria for selection of doublets at Polish coal mines were accepted: the difference in magnitude (based on seismic moment) of two events not larger than 0.15, the distance between their hypocenters not greater than 150 m, and the time interval between their occurrence not longer than 10 days. Similarly, the criteria for seismic events at copper mines are: the difference in magnitude not exceeding 0.15, the distance not greater than 200 m, and the time interval not longer than 20 days. Seismic events from the Wujek and Ziemowit coal mines that occurred between 1993 and 1995, and seismic events from the Polkowice copper mine that occurred between 1994 and 1996 and from the Rudna copper mine that occurred between 1994 and 2004 were considered. Their source parameters and focal mechanisms were known in most cases from previous studies. Altogether 108 seismic pairs from coal mines and 118 pairs from copper mines were found, forming doublets, triplets and quadruplets, within the magnitude range from 0.7 to 3.5. The distance and time intervals between two events forming pairs are not dependent on magnitude of these events. The focal mechanism of seismic events forming pairs is similar in over 60 percent of pairs at coal mines and in about one third of pairs at copper mines. Spatial distributions of doublets in particular sections of coal and copper mines display dominant linear trends, characteristic for a given area, which are often in conformity with the direction of nodal planes determined by fault plane solution of one or both the events forming a doublet. In such cases, the rupture plane can be discriminated among the nodal planes.  相似文献

In aliphatic hydrocarbon fractions of crude oils eight acyclic isoprenoid alkanes were separated from accompanying n-alkanes and iso-alkanes by high-performance glasscapillary gas chromatography. Four of these: 2,6,10-trimethyltetradecane (V), norpristane (IV), pristane (III), and phytane (II) could be resolved further to reveal a doublet produced by the different diastereoisomers.In these doublets the front peak represents stereoisomers formed during maturation of crude oil while the rear peak indicates the respective hydrocarbons carrying the original biogenic precursor configuration. This appearance of doublets demonstrates the loss of stereospecificity in hydrocarbons derived from phytol (I). By using the front peaks as diagenetic ‘maturity markers’ attributable to fossil fuels, hydrocarbon mixtures extracted from sea water samples contaminated with fossil oil could be investigated in detail. The quantitative relationship between recent biogenic and fossil fuel hydrocarbons could be determined in extracts in the lower boiling point range.  相似文献

Large, shallow, thrust earthquakes in the Solomon Islands region tend to occur in closely related pairs. Two recent sequences are July 14, 1971 (MS = 7.9) and July 26, 1971 M(S = 7.9) and 14h37m, July 20, 1975 (MS = 7.9) and 19h54m, July 20, 1975 (MS = 7.7). The mechanism of these seismic doublets has important bearing on the triggering mechanism of earthquakes in subduction zones. Detailed analysis of the seismic body waves and surface waves were performed on the 1971, 1974, and 1975 doublets, providing a better understanding of: (1) the mechanics of seismic triggering, (2) the state of stress on the fault plane, and (3) the nature of subduction between the Pacific and Indian plates. The results indicate that although the geometry of the subduction zone in the Solomon Islands is complicated by the presence of several sub-plates, the slip direction of the Indian plate with respect to the Pacific plate is relatively uniform over the entire region. The large seismic moments of the 1971 sequence (1.2 · 1028 and 1.8 · 1028 dyne cm) indicate that these events directly represent the underthrusting of the Indian and Solomon plates beneath the Pacific plate. The body waves from these doublets, recorded on the WWSSN long-period seismograms, are remarkably impulsive and simple compared with those from events of comparable seismic moment in other subduction zones. In addition, the source dimensions of the body waves are 30–70 km in length, substantially smaller than the overall rupture surfaces radiating the surface waves which are 100–300 km in length. These facts suggest the existence of relatively large, isolated high-stress zones on the fault plane. This type of stress distribution is distinct from other regions which have more heterogeneous stress distribution on the fault plane, and this is proposed as the principal characteristic of this region responsible for the occurrence of the doublets and for the apparent efficiency of triggering in the Solomon trench. Prior to the 1971 sequence, similar sequences have occurred in the same area in 1919–1920 and 1945–1946. From the amount of slip (1.3 m) determined for the 1971 sequence and the apparent recurrence interval of 25 years, a seismic slip rate of 5 cm yr?1 is determined. This value is a significant portion of the convergence rate between the Indian and Pacific plates indicating that the plate motion here is taken up largely by seismic slip.  相似文献

基于2009—2017年新疆区域数字地震台网记录的地震波形数据,利用波形互相关技术及主事件定位方法识别并重新定位了新疆天山中段及其周缘的重复地震。以波形互相关系数0.9作为阈值来确定研究区的重复地震事件,统计结果显示3万零181个事件中的1万1 618个为重复地震事件,这些重复地震事件组成了2395组重复地震对和重复地震丛,占总事件数的38.5%。根据重复地震重定位前后地震对之间距离的统计结果推测,该区域的系统定位误差约为5—10 km。进一步结合该区域最新的震源分类结果对不同震源类型重复地震的时空分布特征予以分析,结果显示:重复矿山爆破事件在空间上呈丛集性分布,且其中的93.6%发生于白天,同时呈现季节性发生模式,即爆破多发生于夏季,而冬季较少;而重复构造地震在空间上大多沿断层分布,24小时内呈随机分布的特征,且研究时段内每个月的活动水平相对平稳;重复诱发地震成丛分布于靠近油气田和水库的区域,但其中部分诱发地震的位置与构造地震重叠,发震时间特征与构造地震相似,为随机分布。   相似文献

For the Fiji-Tonga-Kermadec area and for the period from January 1977 to July 2003, the Harvard CMT catalogue lists 1022 shallow, 410 intermediate and 633 deep earthquakes of moment magnitude from 4.9 to 8.0. The magnitude threshold, above which the catalogue is complete, is 5.3–5.4, and the number of earthquakes of magnitude above this value is 691 for shallow, 329 for intermediate and 476 for deep events, respectively. The proportion of earthquakes associated with doublets and multiplets against the total number of earthquakes is approximately the same in both data sets and therefore all earthquake pairs were considered regardless of their magnitude. We investigated all the pairs of earthquakes that occurred at a centroid distance of less than 40, 60 or 90 km from each other and within a time interval of 200, 300 or 450 days, depending on their magnitude. We found 208 pairs of shallow, 31 of intermediate and 92 of deep events. To ascertain whether these earthquakes in pairs are not connected by chance, the possibility of their occurrence in an uncorrelated Poissonian catalogue was considered. It was assumed that in such a catalogue the inter-event time is exponentially distributed, the earthquake magnitude follows the Gutenberg-Richter relation, and the distribution of centroid distances between the events in pairs is controlled by its non-parametric kernel estimate. The probability of the appearance of the observed proportion of doublets of shallow earthquakes in the Poissonian catalogue was found to be very low. The low probability of occurrence in a semi-random catalogue, created by randomising centroid locations in the actual data set, also indicates major importance of the distance criterion used for a doublet specification. In general, shallow earthquakes tend to form pairs at shorter distances and within shorter time intervals than deep earthquakes. Both the distance and the time intervals do not depend on the magnitude of involved events. The largest number of pairs of deep earthquakes is observed at a depth of about 600 km, and the proportion of deep events associated with doublets against the number of all events increases with depth. From comparison of the focal mechanism of earthquakes in pairs, measured by the 3-D rotation angle, it follows that deep earthquakes forming pairs have a more diverse focal mechanism than shallow events; the rotation angle for three quarters of shallow pairs and only for about one third of deep pairs is reasonably small. The azimuth between two events forming a doublet is in about 60–65% of cases close to the strike of one of nodal planes of the first or the second event.  相似文献

根据互相关系数不小于0.8的波形互相关意义上重复地震的定义, 利用国家数字地震台网中的乌什和巴楚台记录的区域地震波形数据, 识别并研究了新疆柯坪塔格断裂带及其周缘的板内重复地震. 对所有相互距离不超过30 km的地震事件的垂直分量采用0.5—5.0 Hz带通滤波后进行波形互相关计算. 其中乌什台共识别出460例重复地震, 组成重复地震对和多重地震对共171组, 占总事件数的15.5%; 巴楚台共识别出822例重复地震, 组成重复地震对和多重地震对共298组, 占总事件数的21.2%. 对重复地震的分析表明, 台站分布的不同和波形事件记录质量的差异, 是造成两个台站识别出的“重复地震”数目和比例不同的原因. 对重复地震复发的时间间隔统计表明, 重复间隔从数分钟到数百天不等, 最长重复间隔达10年.   相似文献

针对磁张量系统载体产生的磁张量值对系统测量精度产生很大影响的问题,以及现有磁补偿模型存在非线性、分体式和参数多的问题,提出一种磁张量系统载体的一体化线性磁张量补偿方法.分析了载体硬磁材料产生固有磁张量值和软磁材料产生感应磁张量值的微观机理,并推导了相应的数学表达式,结合固有磁场影响和感应磁场影响建立了载体磁张量补偿模型.模型中含有20个载体磁张量补偿系数,对模型求解得到补偿系数,结合三分量磁场测量值即可达到对载体磁张量的补偿.实测实验表明,磁张量补偿方法计算得到的载体磁张量值与载体实际产生的磁张量值仅差32nT/m,可以有效完成对磁张量系统的载体磁张量补偿.  相似文献
