Cosmogenic radioactive nuclides, particularly K^40, Mn^54 and Co^57 are measured in meteorites Nos. Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅴ from the Kirin meteorite shower which is very seldom to be met with in world history in the sense of its scale. Brief accounts are given of the distribution of cosmogenic nuclides with depth, the characteristics of cosmicray induced reactions and that of target nuclides, the energy region of bombarding particles, and the relative positions of meteorites Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅴ with respect to the original meteoroid. The variations in Mn^54, Co^57 and K^40 with depth in No. I Kirin meteorite provides an excellent example for studies in this field.  相似文献

Based on structural observations and the concentrations of Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Ga, Ge,As, Sb, Re, Ir and Au by neutron-activation analysis we have classified 14 Chinese iron meteorites. Thirteen are members of the large groups IAB, IIICD, IIICD,IIIAB and IVA.Leshan is an ungrouped iron meteorite that falls within the IIE field on some elementNi diagrams, but is distinctly outside this .fiel on plots of Cu, W, and Ir vs. Ni; it is very similar in Composition to Techado,another ungrouped iron. The high Cu content of Leshan is consistent with other evidence indicating that Cu is a valuable parameter for classifying, iron meteorites. IIICD Dongling appears not to be a new meteorite, but to be paired with Nantan; Dongling was recovered about 50 km from the location of the Nantan shower. Yungning is highly oxidized; we assign it to group LAB but cannot rule out IIICD. IVA-An Longchang has many characteristics of IVA irons, but has been remelted, prebably in a terrestrial setting, Five irons belong to group IVA, a remarkably large number. Three are identical in Composition, and we suspect that the two from Hubei, Guanghua and Huangling, are paired. Thus this set of 14 irons ineludes 12 independent fall.  相似文献

The Xi Ujumqin meteorite fell in Aug. 1980 at Xi Ujumqin County, Nei Monggol, China.This chondrite can be classified as L6 type based on the bulk chemical analysis (6wt% metal iron, 24% total iron, olivine Fa-26) and the textural feature of complete intergrowth of the chondrules with the matrix, The Mianchi meteorite is a type Hs chondrite that fell in Sep, 1980 at Mianchi County,Henan, China. Apart from porphyritic, barred, radial, cryptocrystanine chondrules, many intermediate-type or mixed-type chondrules are observed in the Mianchi meteorite under the microscope. The distribution and exterior characters of each individual meteorite are presented for the iron meteorite shower in Nantan County, Kwangsi Chuang Autonomous Regiou,China. Nineteen iron meteorites have been found up to date, umounting approximately to 9,500 kg in total weight and spreading over an area of about 30 square kilometers. As compared with other iron meteorites known in China, they are much larger in size and contuin much more mineral species. It is also interesting to note that a complete sample of various parts of a primitive meteorite can be expected. The discovery of this meteorite shower is considered to be of significant value in science.  相似文献

Preliminary results of our study an ancient meteorite records by the end of the Ching dynasty are presented in the present paper. Early in 645 B.C. there were formal records on meteorite falls and cosmoganesis of meteorites. The utinization of iron meteorites for making weapons alloyed with bronze has a history of more than 3000 years (in the Shang and Zhou dynasties). By the time of 1064 (in the Sung dynasty) iron meteorites were well doeum anted. The geographical distribution and falling time of meteorites are also mentioned. The maximum number of meteorite falls was recorded in May and June against the minimum number in December in a year.33 serious calamities caused by meteorite f alls themselves, and several interesting records on meteorite falls are also described in this paper.  相似文献

Iron meteorites from Nandan, Guangxi ; Wushike, Xinjiang; Shangdu, Hebei and Huangling, Hubei are investigated with a spark souree mass speetrometer for their Cr, Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os and Ir contents. The accuracy of the results and the factors affecting it are discussed. It is preliminarily concluded,while textural evidences of these meteorites are also taken into account, that the Nandan, Wushike and Shangdu meteorites belong to IA, Ⅲ .4 and ⅢE groups respectively. The Ni, Ga and Ge contents in the Huangling iron meteorite come close to that of mesosiderites.  相似文献

The redox cycle of iron and manganese is a major geochemica process at the boundary layers of lake sediments.Lake Aha,which lies in the suburbs of Guiyang City,Guizhou Province,China,is a medium-sized artificial reservoir with seasonally anoxic hypolimnion,Long-term sedimentary accumulation of iron and manganese resulted in their enrichment in the upper sediments,In the anoxic season,Fe^2 and Mn^2 ,formed by diological oxidation,would diffuse up to overlying waters from sediments.However,the concentration of oxidation,would diffuse up to overlying waters from sediments,However,the concentration of Fe^2 increased later and decreased earlier than that of Mn^2 .Generally,sulfate reduction occurred at 6 cm below the sediment-water interface.Whereas,in the anoxic season.the reduction reached upper sediments,inhibiting the release of Fe^2 ,The Fe concentration of anoxic water is quickly decreased from high to low as a result of reduction of the suplhur system.  相似文献

Influenced by the Indosinian Lincang granite,the level the natural radioactivity in the Lincang Basin is relatively high.This work deals with the determination of natural radioactivity of soil in this area by using theγ-ray spectrometer.The specific activities of 2 26Ra, 238U, 232Th and 40K obtained were obviously greater than the average values of these nuclides countrywide and worldwide,which were 53.4(from 38.7 to 62.8),161.2(from 127.3 to 211.7),120.9(from 106.5 to 140.6)and 632.2(from 521.7 to 707.5)Bq/kg.Based on the research data,the level of natural radioactivity of the granite was high,which impacts and provides a good source of soil radioactivity in the study area.To assess the radiological hazard of the natural radioactivity in soil,the γ-absorbed dose rate and annual effective dose rate were calculated.The results show that,although the γ-absorbed dose rate in the study area is a little high,the annual effective dose rate is lower than the recommended value.So the Lincang Basin is safe with respect to radiological level and its living environment is not affected.  相似文献

Amino acids have been separated from and identified in the Jilin meteorite No.Ⅰ and Ⅱ by gas-liquid chromatography. Eight kinds of amino acid, i.e., α-alanine,valine, glycine, isoleucine, β-alanine, leucine, proline, and threonine are observed in meteorite No. Ⅰ Ten varieties of amino acids including serine, hydroproline, lysine and etc. are noticed from meteorite No. Ⅱ. The Ningqiang meteorite is a fall carbonaceous chondrite, containing various Ca-, Al-rich inclusions that usually escaped from secondary events such as high-temperature heating and low- temperature alteration. However, it has not yet been classified into any known chemical group. In order to address this issue, 41 elements of the bulk Ningqiang meteorite were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and inductively coupled plasma atom emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) in this study. The Allende (CV3) carbonaceous chondrite and the Jilin (H5) ordinary chondrite were also measured as references, and our analyses are consistent with the previous results. Rare earth and other refractory lithophile elements are depleted in Ningqiang relative to both Allende and mean CK chondrites. In addition, the REE pattern of Ningqiang is nearly flat, while that of Allende shows slight enrichment of LREE relative to HREE. Siderophile elements of Ningqiang are close to those of mean CK chondrites, but lower than those of Allende. Our new analyses indicate that Ningqiang cannot be classified into any known group of carbonaceous chondrites, consistent with previous reports.  相似文献

comparatively evident chondritie structure is observed in the Jilin meteorite. Chondrules range from 0.2 to 3mm in diameter, averaging 0.6mm. Chondrules can be divided into the following types according to the principal minerals crystallized and structure-texture characteristics: (1) Olivine chondrules. In terms of their structure they can be subdivided into prophyritic, grated, barred, sub swirlling internal flow and granular chondrulcs; (2) Orthopyroxene ahondrules. Textural types found are fan-like, radial,parallel fibrous, porphyritic and irregular; (3) Olivineorthopyroxene chondrules; (4)Glass or devitrified chondrules; (5) Ni-Fe chondrules and (6) Troilite-olivine chondrules. Among them, porphyritic and granular olivine chondrules and various kinds of radial orthopyroxene chondrules are most common. In addition, also have been recognized the overlapping of two or more chondrules and chondrules coated with glassy crust. The structure and texture of chondrules indicate that they were originated from molten silicate droplets through rapid cooling prior to the formation of the meteorite parent body. Rapid fusion may be induced on the surface of a few solidified chondrules by solar impulse wave or nebula lightning and, if rapid cooling followed, this would give rise to the appearance of glassy crust. Collision between chondrulcs may result in a variety of chondrule fragments and crystal debris. In some cases, collision is also considered to be responsible for the entrench, inclusion and overlapping textures in ehondrules. After the formation of the meteorite parent body recrystallization of chondrules may take place as a result of thermal metamorphism.  相似文献

This paper discribes the extraction of porphyrin compounds and related pigments from Jilin meteorite with 9:1 (v/v) benzene and methanol mixture. After removal of sulfur and asphalts the hexane solution of the extract is eluted through a silica jel chromatographic column with hexane, benzene, and acetone successively.Nickel porphyrin, vanadium porphyrin and chlorins are found in the benzene eluate and their content are estimated to be 0.008 ppm, 0.006 ppm and 0.002 ppm respectively.The aliphatie hydrocarbons in the meteorite are estimated to be approximately 74pp.The results are summarized and discussed.  相似文献

The measurements are present in the paper of cosmogenic radionuclides in various types of meteorites falling recently in China. In particular, a full diseussion is also given to the provenance of the Qingzhen enstatite condrite. Based upon the measored Al^26 specific activity, an estimation has been made of the aphelion of the Qingzhen orbit (q‘≤1.9 AU). It is, therefore, concluded that the provenance of enstatite chondrites may be much closer to the sun as compared with ether types of meteorites.  相似文献

Opaque minerals in the Jilin meteorite inelude kamacite, taenite troilite, chromite, ilmenite, schreibersite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and graphite.Five of the above-mentioned minerals have been discussed in more detail in terms of optical and physical properties, chemical composition, coexisting relationship, and the order of crystallization. It is indicated from this study that, with the exception of a small amount of Ni-Fe cbondrules, silicate minerals are the first to erystallize followed by chromite, ilmenite at the early stage of nebula condensation, while Ni-Fe phase in the matrix is considered to be of a more later erigin. At the late stage of nebula condensation troilite resulted from the reaction of Ni-Fe metal with residual H2S vapor. As indicated by the occurrence of coarse grained Ni-Fe metal, the recrystallization of troilite and the apparent Neumann lines in kamaeite, it is expected that opaque minerals in the Jilin metevrite have undergone different degrees of thermal and impact metamorphisms.  相似文献

Preliminary investigation was earried out on the Jilin meteorite for hydrocarbonand nitrogen-bearing organic compounds. It shows that the meteorite contains 68 ppm of soluble organic matter, among which the normal alkanes amount to 0.36---0.48 ppm,with carbon number distribution ranging from C17 to C31, and the aromatic hydrocarbons herein are mainly composed of polyalkyl-substituted less condensed rings. Purine derivatives and pyrimidine have also been found. A discussion is given as to the origin of these organic substanees.  相似文献

Glass and gas inclusions have been observed in olivine and other minerals in 30 doubly polished tin sections of Jilin meteorites, indicating that there must have been melting And condensation stages during the process of meteorite formation. Temperatures of formation have been determined by homogenization and quenching runs,giving 1050-200℃ and 502℃ for glass and gas inclusions respectively, Meanwhile,the fibrous radial crystals of pyroxene have been notieed to grow when heated over 800℃. These observations are in general agreement with the available experimental data and theoretical calculations regarding meteorite.  相似文献

A New Martian Meteorite from Antarctica:Grove Mountains (GRV) 020090   总被引:15,自引:0,他引:15  
Reported in this paper are the petrology and mineral chemistry of GRV 020090, the second Martian meteorite collected from the Grove Mountains, Antarctica. This meteorite, with a mass of 7.54 g, is completely covered by a black and glazy fusion crust. It has two distinct textural regions. The interstitial region is composed of euhedral grains of olivine, pigeonite, and anhedral interstitial maskelynite, with minor chromite, augite, phosphates and troilite. The poikilitic region consists of three clasts of pyroxenes, each of which has a pigeonite core and an augite rim. A few grains of subhedral to rounded olivine and euhedral chromite are enclosed in the pyroxene oikocrysts. GRV 020090 is classified as a new member of lherzolitic shergottites based on the modal composition and mineral chemistry. This work will shed light on the composition of Martian crust and magmatism on the Mars.  相似文献

This study covers cosmic spherules derived from the Mesoproterozoic Dahongyu Formation in the Ming Tombs area, Beijing. The cosmic spherules include iron oxide cosmic spherules, carbonaceous chondrites, and atomic iron “steely bead”-shaped cosmic spherules. The mineral assemblage of silicon carbide, forsterite, zircon, and glass spherules and fragments were picked from melt-silicified carbonate of the Mesoproterozoic Dahongyu Formation (ca. 1625 Ma). Cosmic spherule assemblages are solely discovered from sedimentary rocks in China. Platinum group elements (PGE) were determined for the first time in cosmic spherules and associated minerals. PGE comparative observation between meteorite and cosmic spherules is presented in this study. It is recognized that an extraterrestrial meteorite impact event might have occurred in the Dahongyu Stage. The main evidence is a large number of iron cosmic spherules in silicified oncolitic limestone, and associated cosmic silicon carbide, glass spherules, and fragments, as well as the presence of forsterite. The impact-volcanic crater is characteristic of a big black shale block dropped into the bended silicified limestone.  相似文献

In southern Rocky Mountains, catchments characterized by acidic, metalliferous waters that are relatively unaffected by human activity usually occur within areas that have active or historical mining activity. The US Geological Survey has utilized these mineralized but unmined catchments to constrain geochemical processes that control the surface- and ground-water chemistry associated with near surface acid weathering as well as to estimate premining conditions. Study areas include the upper Animas River watershed, Lake City, Mt. Emmons, and Montezuma in Colorado and Questa in New Mexico. Although host-rock lithologies range from Precambrian gneisses to Cretaceous sedimentary units to Tertiary volcanic complexes, mineralization is Tertiary in age and associated with intermediate to felsic composition, porphyritic plutons. Pyrite is ubiquitous. Variability of metal concentrations in water is caused by two main factors: mineralogy and hydrology. Parameters that potentially affect water chemistry include: host-rock lithology, intensity of hydrothermal alteration, sulfide mineralogy and chemistry, gangue mineralogy, length of flow path, precipitation, evaporation, and redox conditions. Springs and headwater streams have pH values as low as 2.5, sulfate up to 3700 mg/L and high dissolved metal concentrations (for example: Al up to 170 mg/L; Fe up to 250 mg/L; Cu up to 3.5 mg/L and Zn up to 14 mg/L). With the exception of evaporative waters, the lowest pH values and highest Fe and Al concentrations occur in water draining the most intense hydrothermally altered areas consisting of the mineral assemblage quartz-sericite-pyrite. Stream beds tend to be coated with iron floc, and some reaches are underlain by ferricrete. When iron-rich ground water interacts with oxygenated waters in the stream or hyporheic zone, ferrous iron is oxidized to ferric iron, which is less soluble, leading to the precipitation of iron oxyhydroxides.  相似文献

Isoprenoid compounds in the Jilin meteorite are isolated and identified by a combined chromatography-mass spectrometry. In the chromatographic part of this instrumentation, the open glass capillary is coated with SE^30 carrier. Chromatographic and mass spectrometric evidence of the existance of pristane and phytane in the Jilin meteorite has been presented and the possible origin of these compounds briefly discussed  相似文献
