Abstract

The southern part of the Caspian Sea shoreline in Iran with a length of 813 km has different topographic conditions. Owing to sea fluctuation, these zones have various dimensions in different times. During the last years, the Caspian Sea experienced enormous destructive rises. The historical information and tidal gauge measurements showed different ranges of sea rise from ?30 m to ?22 m from the mean sea level. On the other hand, the probable flooding zone is related to slope gradient of coasts. To help the determination of the probable flooding area owing to sea level rises, the coastal zones can be modelled using geographic information system (GIS) environment as vulnerability risk rates. These rates would be useful for making decisions in coastal management programs. This study examined different scenarios of sea rise to determine hazard-flooding rates in the coastal cities of the Mazandaran province and classified them based on vulnerability risk rates. The 1:2000 scale topographic maps of the coastal zones were prepared to extract topographic information and construct the coastal digital elevation model. With the presumption of half-metre sea rise scenarios, the digital elevation models classified eight scenarios from ?26 to ?22 m. The flooding areas in each scenario computed for 11 cities respectively. The vulnerability risk rate in each rise scenario was computed by dividing the flooded area of each scenario to city area. The results showed that in the first four scenarios, from ?26 to ?24 m, the Behshahr, Joibar, Neka and Babolsar cites would be more vulnerable than other cites. Moreover, for the second four scenarios from ?24 to ?22 m sea level rise scenario, only the coastal area of Chalous city would be vulnerable. It was also observed that the coastal region of Behshahr would be critical in total scenarios. Further studies would be necessary to complete this assessment by considering social-economic and land use information to estimate the exact hazardous and vulnerable zones.  相似文献

近海海平面上升直接威胁人类生存,分析其成因不仅具有重要科学意义,而且能够为应对海平面上升提供相应策略。使用卫星测高、时变重力以及浮标观测研究2002—2020年近海300 km内海平面变化成因。由于时变重力在近海受到较为严重的泄漏误差影响,使用时变重力约束解模拟陆地质量变化对海洋质量的泄漏,其线性趋势约为0.68 mm/a。在季节和非季节尺度上,时变重力和浮标观测解释了卫星测高的结果,证明近海海平面平衡方程在季节和非季节时间尺度上能够被闭合。在长期变化趋势方面,卫星测高显示近海海平面上升速率为3.32±0.45 mm/a,而时变重力与浮标观测之和的速率为2.25±0.51 mm/a,两者之间存在约1 mm/a的速率差。鉴于该速率差高于估计的不确定度,认为当前在闭合近海海平面平衡方程长期趋势方面仍存在不小挑战,一方面近海比容实测数据较为稀少,很可能低估了长期趋势变化;另一方面,不完善的泄漏误差改正和陆地垂直运动改正也会影响近海海平面长期趋势变化。  相似文献

揭示海平面变化成因有助于深入认识当前的全球气候变化,并做出积极应对。空间大地测量技术及海洋浮标观测极大地促进了对全球及区域海平面变化成因的研究,有效弥补了海洋模式对长期趋势估计不准确的缺点,有助于理解海平面长期趋势及年际变化的驱动因素。本文系统回顾了近20年关于海平面上升成因的研究进展,分析了陆地质量迁移不同成分对海平面上升的贡献。多源观测数据表明,海水质量增加贡献了2/3的海平面上升,其余1/3由海水热膨胀引起。由于气候变暖趋势没有减弱,陆地冰川消融和海水热膨胀均伴随加速度变化。这些研究成果不仅极大地提升了对当前海平面变化的认识,而且有助于约束对未来海平面上升的预测。最后,讨论了海平面变化成因研究中面临的困难与挑战:①在局部尺度上,使用观测数据尚不能完全揭示海平面长期趋势变化成因;②2016年后,全球平均海平面平衡方程的闭合差显著增大。  相似文献

It has been widely known that the use of two-frequency Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) system is limited by stringent precision requirements of the range measurements and the proper atmospheric model. Owing to the stringent requirements, this SLR system is impractical for the current requirement of SLR measurements within the framework of global geodetic observing system (GGOS). If in the future this stringent requirement could be met, this SLR system would be an attractive tool to reduce atmospheric propagation effects of SLR and would be of great benefit for the next generation of GGOS design. To anticipate possible future developments of the two-frequency SLR systems, we have developed a new atmospheric correction formula for the two-frequency SLR measurements. The new formula eliminates the total atmospheric density effect including its gradient and provides two terms to calculate the curvature effect and the water vapor distribution effect. While the curvature effect can be calculated by an accurate model, the required information about the water vapor distribution along the propagation path can be calculated using previous developments of optical delay modeling or alternatively using results from microwave measurements. Theoretical simulations using the two-frequency systems of the Graz and TIGO-Concepción stations shows that the new formula completely reduces all propagation effects at any elevation angle above 3° with an accuracy better than 1 mm. However, the required precision for the difference of the two-frequency SLR measurements, i.e. better than 45 μm for a single epoch, exceeds the capability of the current state of the art SLR systems.  相似文献

One of the most prominent geomorphological features in the Western Desert of Egypt is the occurrence of the Qattara Depression (20,800 km2 or 2% of Egypt’s area), which has the deepest point in Africa. Topographic analysis of the depression was carried out using fine resolution digital elevation models acquired from the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer-Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER-GDEM) in order to assess the capacity of the depression. Results showed that the lower point in the depression occurs at ?136 m and its capacity at the sea level is 1340 billion m3, which equals 10 times the live storage capacity of the Lake Nasser behind the Aswan High Dam. Although the depression has the aptitude to be a reservoir for any augmentation in the sea level, detailed environmental impact assessment studies should be implemented to address geologic, climatic, biologic as well as socio-economic impacts.  相似文献

Combination of GNSS and SLR observations using satellite co-locations   总被引:6,自引:6,他引:0  
Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) observations to Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellites may be used for several purposes. On one hand, the range measurement may be used as an independent validation for satellite orbits derived solely from GNSS microwave observations. On the other hand, both observation types may be analyzed together to generate a combined orbit. The latter procedure implies that one common set of orbit parameters is estimated from GNSS and SLR data. We performed such a combined processing of GNSS and SLR using the data of the year 2008. During this period, two GPS and four GLONASS satellites could be used as satellite co-locations. We focus on the general procedure for this type of combined processing and the impact on the terrestrial reference frame (including scale and geocenter), the GNSS satellite antenna offsets (SAO) and the SLR range biases. We show that the combination using only satellite co-locations as connection between GNSS and SLR is possible and allows the estimation of SLR station coordinates at the level of 1–2 cm. The SLR observations to GNSS satellites provide the scale allowing the estimation of GNSS SAO without relying on the scale of any a priori terrestrial reference frame. We show that the necessity to estimate SLR range biases does not prohibit the estimation of GNSS SAO. A good distribution of SLR observations allows a common estimation of the two parameter types. The estimated corrections for the GNSS SAO are 119 mm and −13 mm on average for the GPS and GLONASS satellites, respectively. The resulting SLR range biases suggest that it might be sufficient to estimate one parameter per station representing a range bias common to all GNSS satellites. The estimated biases are in the range of a few centimeters up to 5 cm. Scale differences of 0.9 ppb are seen between GNSS and SLR.  相似文献

Outdoor light at night (LAN) would be a public concern potentially associated with adverse health outcomes mainly in developed countries, but it might also be an environmental health issue in developing countries. However, there have been few studies reporting the spatial and temporal aspects of LAN level changes incorporated with population exposure in such nations. Therefore, we analyzed the spatiotemporal patterns of outdoor LAN exposure changes across the Republic of Korea (ROK), a developing country in Asia, between 1995 and 2010. In addition, we incorporated the population and its demographic characteristics of light exposure in this research. We utilized Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Operational Linescan System (OLS) observations as a spatial proxy of LAN and the ROK census data. This research observed 57.6% (≈57,800 km2) of land areas in the country to experience increases in outdoor artificial illumination at nights. The highest levels of LAN were found to affect about 58% of the total ROK population with major impacts on young and middle-aged people in recent years. Taking this research into account, it would require taking appropriate measures in controlling and abating outdoor artificial lights at night for both developing and developed countries. We anticipate that those efforts could prevent adverse health outcomes, for example, female breast cancer, potentially associated with LAN exposure.  相似文献

Climate change due to anthropogenic forcing through escalating greenhouse gas emissions and destruction of carbon sinks by deforestation is leading to floods and droughts affecting agriculture production. Global warming induces steric as well as eustatic rise in sea-level, by thermal expansion and addition of ice-melt water, respectively. Although the IPCC (2007) estimated a maximum possible sea-level rise of about 59 cm, more recent estimates show a global average rise of ≥1 m by the 2100 AD. The low-lying coastal zones are more vulnerable to rising sea levels as they face submergence or saltwater intrusion which affects the agriculture activities. Geomatics-based models on the possible impact of the predicted sea-level rise on coastal agriculture are necessary to initiate appropriate mitigation plans. The present study is an attempt in this direction taking the Andhra Pradesh (AP) coast as an example. The land use / land cover of the AP coast was mapped through the interpretation of IRS-P6 LISS III imagery from 2008. SRTM digital elevation models coupled with landform evidences have been used to interpolate contours at 0.5 m interval, although highly approximate, for the entire coastal region. If the sea level rises by 1.0 m, about 4040 km2 area including the present intertidal wetlands as well as the land between the present and future high tide lines would be affected along the entire 1030-km-long AP coast displacing about 1.67 million inhabitants and their economic activities, in about 351 revenue villages. The low-lying Krishna-Godavari delta region in the central part of the AP coast would be the worst affected zone as 2205 km2 of its area including about 1593 km2 under various types of agricultural activities is lying within the future high tide limit of 2.5 m elevation.  相似文献

合理的参数估计及精度评定不仅需要可靠的函数模型,而且需要正确的随机模型。从权函数和粗差编辑两方面,研究了不同随机模型对西安流动卫星激光测距(satellite laser ranging,SLR)站坐标解算的影响,采用全球Lageos-1卫星观测数据计算了西安流动SLR站坐标。计算结果表明:①西安流动SLR站的观测精度和坐标解算精度均达到厘米级。②随机模型直接影响SLR站坐标的解算结果及可靠性;对于相同的计算弧段,抗差方差分量估计得到的站坐标精度最高、结果最稳定,残差加权均方差最小,观测资料利用率也最高;对于相同的计算方案,采用的SLR数据越多,坐标估计精度越高。  相似文献

提出了综合利用SLR和GPS伪距资料测定导航卫星钟差的方法,采用2002年10月的SLR和伪距实测数据计算了GPS 35卫星的钟差,并对GPS 35卫星的钟差进行了预报,为了验证计算结果的精度,将本文计算的卫星钟差与IGS精密钟差进行了比较.通过比较分析发现:综合利用SLR和伪距资料测定的导航卫星钟差精度优于3 ns,测定的导航卫星钟差与实际卫星钟差不存在系统差;导航卫星钟差的预报精度与计算卫星钟速的时间跨度有关;可以分离卫星坐标和卫星钟差之间的相互影响,便于对卫星钟差的研究.  相似文献

In the first part of the paper, it is shown that if the present antarctic ice masses would melt, a large part in the present pearshapeness in the shape of the Earth would dissappear. In the second part of the paper, it is shown that should the present Antarctic ice masses melt, world oceans would not climb up to the present +65 meters elevation contour line as has appeared in the literature. The impact of accelerometry on CHAMP orbit determination   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
 The contribution of the STAR accelerometer to the CHAMP orbit precision is evaluated and quantified by means of the following results: orbital fit to the satellite laser ranging (SLR) observations, GPS reduced-dynamic vs SLR dynamic orbit comparisons, and comparison of the measured to the modeled non-gravitational accelerations (atmospheric drag in particular). In each of the four test periods in 2001, five CHAMP arcs of 2 days' length were analyzed. The mean RMS-of-fit of the SLR observations of the orbits computed with STAR data or the non-gravitational force model were 11 and 24 cm, respectively. If the accelerometer calibration parameters are not known at least at the few percent level, the SLR orbit fit deteriorates. This was tested by applying a 10% error to the along-track scale factor of the accelerometer, which increased the SLR RMS-of-fit on average to 17 cm. Reference orbits were computed employing the reduced-dynamic technique with GPS tracking data. This technique yields the most accurate orbit positions thanks to the estimation of a large number of empirical accelerations, which compensate for dynamic modeling errors. Comparison of the SLR orbits, computed with STAR data or the non-gravitational force model, to the GPS-based orbits showed that the SLR orbits employing accelerometer observations are twice as accurate. Finally, comparison of measured to modeled accelerations showed that the level of geomagnetic activity is highly correlated with the atmospheric drag model error, and that the largest errors occur around the geomagnetic poles.
