Geocell reinforcement has been increasingly applied to road embankment engineering. Deformation calculation is one of the major concerns during the design process. In this paper, the power-series method was employed to investigate the performance of a geocell-reinforced mattress under symmetric loads. The geocell-reinforced mattress was idealized as a beam on a Winkler foundation. In the analysis, the soil–foundation beam interface resistance, related to the horizontal deformation coupling with the vertical deformation, was considered. Semi-analytic solutions were developed to assess the deformations and internal forces of the foundation beam and verified against an existing finite element method [9]. The results of the proposed method were close to the results from the finite element method. Moreover, the effects of various factors, such as height of embankment, horizontal and vertical foundation coefficients, composite elastic modulus and height of geocell-reinforced mattress, on the foundation beam settlement and the tension force within the beam are discussed. It was found that the interface resistance related to the horizontal deformation of the beam has a reduction effect on the embankment settlement, and it is beneficial to reduce the embankment settlement by increasing the beam rigidity and strengthening the subgrade soil body.  相似文献

Shorelines are widespread and lake deposits and lake geomorphology are well developed on the northern Tibetan Plateau. Through field observations of lacustrine deposits of Nam Co-the highest and largest Quaternary lake in Tibet, the authors found four-step shore terraces composed of sands and clays with well-developed horizontal bedding and 3-12 m, 15-22 m, 25-30 m and 35-45 m higher than the lake surface respectively, lacustrine deposits resting on the bedrocks and 60-150 m higher than the lake surface, and up to -50 levees composed of oblate lakeshore gravels. Moreover they found lacustrine and lakeshore deposits making up the terraces and levees on the bottoms of wide dividing valleys connecting Nam Co with the Rencoyuema, Rencogongma and Jiuru Co northwest of Nam Co (the valley bottoms are 20 m, 90 m and 60 m higher than the above-mentioned three lakes) and on slopes north of it, i.e. terraces II and III of Nam Co. This Article deals with the utilization of agricultural waste such as cattle manure, swine manure, chicken manure and their mixtures. It is promising a simultaneous running of biogas processes and vermitechnology. A special biogas–vermitechnological shoulder was constructed. A special organic catalyst, which contained glucose and cellulose, was used in the biogas process, as a source of biogas bacteria and to alter C/N ratio of the fermented substrate, to C/N = 30/1. Swine manure shows a higher biogas yield and methane-in-biogas content than others. It is effective to mix different manures to increase biogas yield. Earthworms Eisenia Foetida were used in the vermitechnological stage. Using only cattle manure and in mixtures with leaves (4:1 wt) was processed to make vermicompost. The obtained biohumus was studied with a microscope. It was found to have a more homogenous and structured porosity surface. It was observed that the organic content increased in vermicompost. The ratio of humic and fulvic acids can be varied using rotted leaves as fillers. Atomic Absorption Spectrometry was used to determine the content of metals. It was observed that metals from manure (Sb, Rb, Sr) were accumulated in earthworms, therefore biohumus was purified from pollutants. The released heat from the biogas stage was used for the vermitechnology stage heating. Using the biogas heat, it is possible to conduct the vermiprocess, even in cold seasons.  相似文献

Permeability tensors of both macrofracture and microfracture systems were measured progressively along the depth of limestone formations at severed sites. It was found that the principal permeability values KX, Ky and Kz in these permeability tensors all decrease simultaneously and logarithmically with depth. However, the limestone aquifers are composed of an upper region where the larger permeability ellipsoid is upright or prolate and characterized by Kz>Kx and Kz>Ky, a transitional zone, and a lower zone whose smaller permeability ellipsoid is horizontal or oblate and characterized by KZ相似文献

According to the compuations results obtained by Bisikalo et al. (2013) for the gas-dynamical effect of stellar winds on exoplanet atmospheres, three types of gaseous envelopes can form around hot Jupiters: closed, quasi-closed, and open. The type of envelope that forms depends on the position of the frontal collision point (where the dynamical pressure of the wind is equal to the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere) relative to the Roche-lobe boundaries. Closed envelopes are formed around planets whose atmospheres lie completely within their Roche lobes. If the frontal collision point is located outside the Roche lobe, the atmospheric material begins to flow out through the Lagrangian points L1 and L2, which can result in the formation of quasi-closed (if the dynamical pressure of the stellar wind stops the outflow through L1) or open gaseous envelopes. The example of the typical hot Jupiter HD 209458b is considered for four sets of atmospheric parameters, to determine the mass-loss rates for the different types of envelopes arising with these parameters. The mass-loss rates based on the modeling results were estimated to be ? ≤ 109 g/s for a closed atmosphere, ? ? 3 × 109 g/s for a quasi-closed atmosphere, and ? ? 3 × 1010 g/s for an open atmosphere. The matter in the closed and quasi-closed atmospheres flows out mainly through L2, and the matter in open envelopes primarily through L1.  相似文献

Cadmium has been determined by β-correction spectrophotometry with cadion,p-nitrobenzenediazoaminoaz-obenzone,and a non-ionic surfactant,tuiton X-100.The real absorbance of a Cd-cadion chelate in the colored solution can be accurately determined and the complex-ratio of cadion with Cd(II) has been worked out to be 2.Beer‘s law is obeyed over the concentration range of 0-0.20mg/1 cadmium and the detec-tion limit for cadmium is only 0.003mg/1.Satisfactory experimental results are presented with respect to the determination of trace cadmium in wastewaters.  相似文献

Leaching studies of low-grade pyrolusite, containing 11.84% Mn with high silicon, were carried out using sodium sulfite as a reductant in ammonium sulfate medium. Various process parameters including temperature, leaching time, solid-liquid ratio, quantity of ammonium sulfate, as well as the amount of reducing agent were studied in detail. The manganese extraction yield was the response of the process. Temperature and reagent concentration exerted the most important positive effect on the manganese extraction. The optimized conditions showed that when the amount of reducing agent was a stoichonmetric amount, over 90% manganese extraction and the lowest impurities were achieved, the amount of heavy metal impurities in the manganese leaching liquid was less than 5 mg/L, and almost no iron and aluminum were extracted in 3 mol/L ammonium sulfate concentration at 100 ℃ in 45 min.  相似文献

In the coastal aquifers of Kaluvelly (Bengal coast, India), the over exploitation of the main aquifer (the Vanur sandstone) has created a piezometric depression. Water flows from the sea towards inland. A salinization problem is questioned. The geochemical study was dedicated to major, minor and trace elements as well as isotope ratios (δ^18O, δD, δ^37Cl and ^87Sr/^86Sr). The catchment comprises a crystalline bedrock hinterland (chamockites) overlaid by sediment. The Vanur and Cuddalore sandstones, the two main layers, are issued from the decay of chamockites upland. The geochemical feature of a water body is linked both to the composition of the hosted rock and the interaction time between water and rock. In the deeper parts of the Vanur aquifer, a mixture with long-residence time groundwaters has been evidenced. These waters can originate from a pocket of water entrapped in the Vanur or from the charnockites downward. No seawater intrusion could be assessed. Piezometric data suggest a possible hydraulic connection between the Cuddalore and the Vanur aquifers. Major, minor element data and isotope ratios do not allow to distinguish between old waters from the different aquifers. Data evidence the heterogeneity of the charnokite formation which is characterized by high Ba contents. On the whole, the two sandstones are depleted compared to charnockites in alkaline and earth-alkaline elements, and enriched in less soluble element such as Th or Zr. Trace elements in groundwaters waters from the chamockite aquifer exhibit a high concentration of Ba as compared to Vanur and Cuddalore waters. As Ba is a soluble element, the concentration of Ba in waters is related to the concentration in the hosted rocks. The Li concentration, slightly higher in Vanur rocks, allows to distinguish waters from the deeper parts of the Vanur aquifer. For insoluble elements such as Ti, the hosted rock signature cannot be seen. The Ti concentration in water samples seems to rely on the reaction progress rather than on the available amount. Trace element data show that waters recovered from chamockites and sandstone aquifers present different geochemical features. The host rock signature can be seen in the chamockite and Vanur aquifers for some alkaline and alkaline-earth elements (mainly Ba and Li).  相似文献

以罗辛矿床为代表的白岗岩型铀矿是纳米比亚主要的铀矿床类型。白岗岩型铀矿集中产出在元古界达玛拉造山带中,含矿白岗岩是造山期后岩浆作用的产物。白岗岩易于侵入Nosib群罗辛组和可汗组地层中,但对地层没有绝对选择性,在整个Nosib群中都有发现矿化的可能。根据野外特征可将白岗岩分为6种,其中D型、E型是主要的含矿白岗岩,白岗岩具有成矿专属性。区域千岁兰(Welwitschia)断裂控制了白岗岩浆的侵位,其次级断裂以及片理、片麻理构造等为岩浆就位提供了有利张性空间。穹窿的转折部位是有利的成矿位置。构造和岩浆岩是重要的控矿因素,成矿是构造和岩浆作用耦合的结果,是一次构造一岩浆热事件。  相似文献

A simple theoretical model of magnetic–hydrophobic coagulation considering the total interaction potential energy between two spheres exposed to an external magnetic field as a sum of the van der Waals, electrostatic, magnetic, and hydrophobic components is proposed. The model was used to interpret experiments on coagulation of fine siderite particles in distilled water and 10−2 M KCl, hydrophobized by sodium oleate. In the experiments, a relative extent of the coagulation/stability equilibrium of the siderite suspension was evaluated photoelectrically. To estimate the model parameters, the ζ-potential and hydrophobicity of siderite particles were measured.A qualitative agreement was obtained between the model predictions (energy maximum and secondary minimum) and the experimental results (voltage changes after a selected interval of sedimentation) of the siderite suspensions. Moreover, a statistically significant correlation was found between the experimental voltages and the calculated energy maximum (a crucial factor of theories on the fine particle coagulation kinetics), which can be represented by a linear regression equation with the correlation coefficient of 0.979.  相似文献

A primary magma not only represents the starting point of a fractional crystallization process, but also is the product of an equilibrium or fractional partial melting process in a mantle.Element abundance relationships in the primary magma obey both law of power function for fractional crystallization and the law of fractional linear function for equilibrium partial melting .Based on this double nature of the primary magma, the authors advanced a principle to restore the primary magma composition from that of an igneous rock series with petrogenesis of fractional crystallization and put forward an approach of estimating the element abundance of the primary magma, exempli-fied by the rar-earth elements in the Andes volcanic rock series.  相似文献

Natural organic matter (NOM) is an important ingredient in soil which can improve physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils and nutrient supplies. In this study, we investigated the spectral features and potential availability of phosphorus (P) in the IHSS Elliott Soil humic acid standard (EHa), Elliott soil fulvic acid standard Ⅱ (EFa), Waskish peat humic acid reference (WHa), and Waskish peat fulvic acid reference (WFa) by fluorescence spectroscopy, FT-IR, solution 31P NMR, 3-phytase incubation and UV irradiation. We observed more similar spectral features between EHa and EFa as well as between WHa and WFa than between the two humic acids or two fulvic acids themselves. Phosphorus in WHa and WFa was mainly present in the orthophosphate form. However, only about 5% was water soluble. After treatment by both UV irradiation and enzymatic hydrolysis, soluble orthophosphate increased to 17% of WHa P, and 10%o of WFa P. Thus, it appears that a large portion of P in Waskish peat humic substances was not labile for plant uptake. On the other hand, both orthophosphate and organic phosphate were present in EHa and EFa. Treatment by both UV irradiation and enzymatic hydrolysis increased soluble orthophosphate to 67% of EHa P and 52% of EFa P, indicating that more P in Elliott soil humic substances was potentially bioavailable. Our results demonstrated that source (soil vs. peat) was a more important factor than organic matter fraction (humic acid vs. fulvic acid) with respect to the forms and lability of P in these humic substances.  相似文献

There is a pressing need of finding innovative and beneficial ways of using scrap tires in the construction of various geotechnical structures because a large number of waste tires are generated and discarded every year throughout the world. One example of such geotechnical application is the use of tire shreds mixed with soil as a backfill material for mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. In this paper, we report the results of laboratory pullout tests performed to study the interaction between ribbed-metal-strip reinforcement and tire shred–sand mixtures prepared with various tire shred sizes (9.5 mm in nominal size, 50–100 mm in length, and 100–200 mm in length) and tire shred-to-sand mixing ratios (tire shred contents of 0, 12, 25, 100% by weight). The pullout capacities of ribbed metal strips embedded in tire shred–sand mixtures were obtained for three confining pressures (40, 65, and 90 kPa). The test results showed that the pullout capacity of ribbed metal strips embedded in tire shred–sand mixtures is much higher than that of ribbed metal strips embedded in samples prepared with only tire shreds. Based on the laboratory pullout test results, an equation was developed that can be used to estimate the pullout capacity of ribbed metal strips embedded in tire shred–sand mixtures if the tire shred size, compacted unit weight of the mixture, mean particle size of sand, and vertical effective stress acting at the interface are known.  相似文献
