The Bundelkhand massif of Archean-Palaeoproterozoic age is primarily a granite-gneiss complex. Three distinct granitoid suites have been identified within the massif hornblende granitoids, biotite granitoids and leucogranitoids, in order of decreasing age. These granitoids were emplaced in previously deformed basement consisting of gneisses, banded iron formations and other metasediments, mafic to felsic volcanics.
The granitoids exhibit a large compositional range from quartz diorite to syenogranite and show a calc-alkaline trend. They are metaluminous to peraluminous and have I-type characteristics. The SiO2 content ranges from 49 to 77 wt%. Low K2O/Na2O characterizes the granitoids. The oldest hornblende granitoids have low Rb and Yb contents compared to the younger biotite granitoids and leucogranitoids. Rb/Sr values for most of the granitoids are low (< 1). K/Rb ratios range from 95 to 373 which is, in general, comparable with other calc-alkaline suites. Y/Nb ratios of the granitoids are > 1.2 which is a characteristic feature of magmas derived from sources chemically similar to island arc or continental margin basalts.
The features mentioned above coupled with concentrations of Rb, Y, Nb, Yb, Ta and Th indicate a volcanic-arc tectonic setting for the granitoids. It is proposed that the massif represents subduction-related magmatism of an ocean in the southern part of the massif (an Andean plate margin).  相似文献

Abstract: Transportation of various kinds of elements occurred in wall rocks (Quaternary andesites) during the hydrothermal alteration accompanied by the Hishikari epithermal gold mineralization. For example, K2O and MgO contents of wall rocks decrease away from the gold-quartz veins, while (CaO+Na2O) content increases, and SiO2 content is variable near the veins. Hydrothermal alteration zoning and bulk compositional variations in wall rocks suggest that the mixing of hydrothermal solution and acidic groundwater took place an important role as the cause for the hydrothermal alteration and bulk compositional variations. The relationship between dissolved silica concentration and temperature of hydrothermal solution mixed with groundwater is obtained based on precipitation kinetics-fluid flow–mixing model, and the computed results are compared with the distribution of SiO2 minerals (quartz and cristobalite) in the hydrothermal alteration zones. This comparison suggests that the most reasonable flow rate of fluids migrating through hydrothermal alteration zones, and A/M (A: surface area of rocks interacting with fluid, M: mass of fluid) are estimated to be ca. 10-4.2 m/sec, and ca. 0.10 m2/kg, respectively. The mixing of two fluids (hydrothermal solution and acidic groundwater) can also explain δ18O zoning in the altered country rocks, hydrothermal alteration zoning from K-feldspar through K-mica to kaolinite from the center (veins) to margin, and deposition of gold.  相似文献

Abstract. Vein type tungsten mineralization at Degana is genetically and spatially associated with the Degana Granite. The deposit is characterized by pervasive wall rock alteration around the mineralized quartz veins. Laterally three different alteration zones, greisen, silicification and potassic zones, are marked based on the field features, mineral assemblages and geo-chemical characteristics. In the present paper, systematic mineralogical and chemical variation in these alteration zones is reported. Thick mono-mineralic (zinnwaldite) selvages around the veins characterize the deposit. Plagioclase and alkali feldspar are low in the greisen zones while K-feldspar shows more increase than plagioclase in the potassic zone. Quartz is uniformly high in all the alteration zones, but it shows an anomalous value in the silicification zone. Al2O3 concentration shows initial depletion in greisen zone with gradual increase away from the contact. MgO and FeO are higher in greisen zone than silicification and potassic zones. The potassic zone is characterized by the depletion of Na2O and higher value of K2O.
The common presence of topaz and fluorite as both primary and secondary minerals and fluorine-bearing micas suggest fluorine partitioning in substantial amount between granitic melt and coexisting aqueous fluid phase and higher HF activity during the evolution of hydrothermal fluid. The mutual relationship of the fluorine minerals (topaz and fluorite) in the different alteration zones suggests an increase in the Ca2+ activity and decrease of H+ activity during the fluid evolution from greisenization towards alkali-metasomatised granite and the fluid is assumed to change from low to high activity ratio of Ca2+/H+.  相似文献

Abstract Chloritoid–hornblende occurs in quartz–muscovite pelitic schist derived from sediment in a volcaniclastic sequence of the Grenville Supergroup and from reworked sedimentary and regolithic material above the unconformity at the base of the Flinton Group. Comparison of these samples with other pelitic rocks on triangular composition diagrams and in the ACNF and ACFM tetrahedra indicates that the presence of hornblende cannot be explained by unusually high CaO content. The rare assemblage is attributed to a combination of relatively low Al2O3 and high K2O with high CaO/(CaO+Na2O) and FeO/(FeO+MgO).
On two qualitative reaction grids derived from AFM diagrams projected through CaO and plagioclase, respectively, the P–T stability field of chloritoid–hornblende overlaps the first appearance of staurolite–biotite in normal pelitic rocks in the kyanite field. Staurolite–hornblende overlaps chloritoid–hornblende and extends to the higher temperatures and pressures of the kyanite–hornblende field.
The phase relations in these rocks provide a link between the conventional hornblende-absent grids for pelitic rocks and those for K2O-poor (muscovite-absent) pelitic and mafic amphibolitic rocks.  相似文献

Results of electron microprobe and microthermometric studies of samples collected from the Bouvet Triple Junction Region (BTJR) during a joint Russian-Italian geological expedition on the R/V Academician Nikolaj Strakhov (1994) have revealed new data on the composition of basaltic magmas and oceanic hydrothermal fluids connected with magmatic processes. Detailed analysis of basaltic glasses shows that the modem Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) rift valley is composed of normal mid-ocean ridge basalts with low concentrations of K2 O and TiOz (N-MORB), while its flanks are more enriched with these components approaching E-MORB. A marked influence of the Bouvet hot spot volcanism on magma generation on the South-West Indian Ridge (SWIR) near Bouvet Island is observed. Basaltic melts in this area belong to alkalic and transitional series and have maximum contents of K2O, TiO2, H2O.
Microthermometric analyses of fluid inclusions in the samples from the BTJR have revealed major differences in the oceanic hydrothermal fluid systems on the MAR and near SWIR, which depends on the peculiarities of magma. In the area of the MAR (with dry melts) only H2O solution inclusions in quartz were found; thus, seawater is probably the only primary source of hydrothermal fluids (NaCl + MgCl2+ H2O; T = 170–200°C). In the SWIR area (with the high content of water in melts) syngenetic liquid CO2 and H2O solution inclusions in quartz indicate the influence of the magmatic fluid component on the ore-forming water/carbon dioxide solutions (NaCl + CaC12+ H2O + CO2; T = 200–310 °C; P = 900–1700 bar).  相似文献

The results are given for all the determinations made by the co-operating laboratories of major elements in the six NIMROC rock samples (granite, syenite, lujavrite, norite, pyroxenite and dunite) prepared by the National Institute for Metallurgy in 1966. Relevant statistical data are given for the sets of results for each major constituent, and recommended values for all constituents except Al203, Na20, K20and CO2 in dunite, Fe2O3, MgO and CO2 in the granite, Fe23 and CO2 in the norite and CO2 in the pyroxenite.
This report and that on the trace and minor elements issued in 1978 complete the revision of the recommended values. It is suggested that analysts should concentrate rather on those constituents for which the results have shown such a wide scatter that they can be of no usc for reference purposes, than on those for which the ualues are fairly well established.  相似文献

Two new geochemical reference materials, copper ore JCu-1 and zinc ore JZn-1 have been prepared by the Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) for the determination of major and minor elements and isotopic compositions. JCu-1 is a sample of Cu-bearing sulfide ore typical of the Kamaishi mine in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, and is composed mainly of hedenbergite, chalcopyrite, quartz and calcite. Pyrrhotite, magnetite and actinolitic amphibole were also commonly found. The Zn-rich ore, JZn-1 is a crude ore from the Kamioka Pb-Zn mine in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The sample consists of hedenbergite, quartz, calcite, sphalerite and epidote as main crystalline phase. Homogeneity test results showed that all studied constituents including ore elements such as Cu, Pb and Zn can be considered to be homogeneously distributed. Provisional collaborative analyses were carried out in ten laboratories, and the data were evaluated using a robust statistical method using z-scores. Recommended values for a number of major elements including TiO2, Al2O3, MnO, MgO, CaO, Na2O, K2O, Fe (total), Zn, Cu and Pb were established. In addition, information values for eighteen major, minor and trace elements are presented to support future collaborative analyses.  相似文献

The 5-km deep Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling Main Hole penetrated a sequence of ultrahigh pressure (UHP)-metamorphic rocks consisting mainly of eclogite, gneiss and garnet-peridotite with minor schist and quartzite. Zircon separates taken from thin layers of schist and gneiss within eclogite were investigated. Cathodoluminescence images of zircon grains show that they have oscillatory zoned magmatic cores and unzoned to patchy zoned metamorphic rims. Zircon rims contain rare coesite and calcite inclusions whereas cores contain inclusions of both low- P minerals (e.g. feldspar, biotite and quartz) and coesite and other eclogite-facies minerals such as phengite and jadeite. The zircon cores give highly variable 206Pb/238U ages ranging from 760 to 431 Ma for schist and from 698 to 285 Ma for gneiss, and relatively high but variable Th/U ratios (0.16–1.91). We suggest that the coesite and other eclogite facies mineral inclusions in zircon cores were not magmatic but formed through metasomatic processes caused by fluids during UHP metamorphism, and that the fluids contain components of SiO2, Al2O3, K2O, FeO, MgO, Na2O and H2O. Metasomatism of the Sulu UHP rocks during continental subduction to mantle depths has partly altered magmatic zircon cores and reset isotopic systems. This study provides key evidence that mineral inclusions within magmatic zircon domains are not unequivocal indicators of the formation conditions of the respective domain. This finding leads us to conclude that the routine procedure for dating of metamorphic events solely based on the occurrence of mineral inclusions in zoned zircon could be misleading and the data should be treated with caution.  相似文献

A salt crust from an ephemeral saline lake in northern Namibia includes a basal thenardite layer (Na2SO4), followed by intervals consisting of burkeite (Na6(CO3)(SO4)2) with a palisade-type fabric that are separated by layers of fine-grained burkeite. All palisade burkeite formed as coatings along the sides of the neighbouring intervals and around thin lenses of fine-grained burkeite. During the development of these coatings, the original constituents of the intervals that they now occupy were dissolved. Textural features indicate that the dissolved deposits were composed at least in part of halite crystals. The study of this crust illustrates the complexity of evaporite sedimentation in ephemeral saline lakes where more than one dominant mineral is formed. In the studied basin, selective dissolution of the most soluble salts occurred during flooding stages, partly affecting subsurface occurrences that consisted of continuous beds. The final product is a nearly monomineralic deposit, derived from a layered non-monomineralic formation. The deposit developed to a large extent by subsurface crystal growth in a subaqueous setting, rather than by mineral formation along the brine–sediment interface or under subaerial conditions.  相似文献

Abstract: Ilmenite, hematite, garnet, monazite, zircon, rutile, magnetite, sillimanite, pyroxene and amphibole from the beach sands of Ekakula, Gahiramatha coast, Orissa, India are reported here for the first time. Their total concentration varies from 26. 4 to 100%. Ilmenite, monazite and zircon are between 100 and 300 um in size and are well rounded in shape. Ilmenite-hematite intergrowth is common. Ilmenite has 50. 02–54. 73% TiO2, 42. 42–46. 90% FeO (total Fe) and small amounts of Al, Mn, Mg, Ca, Ba, Si, V, Cr, and Zn. The bulk samples contain 10. 63–41. 42 % TiO2, 6. 15–26. 07 % FeO, 5. 86–16. 75 % Fe2O3, 7. 41–61. 74 % SiO2, 1. 39–12. 83% A12O3, 0. 32–4. 97% CaO, 0. 53–4. 24% P2O5, 0. 17–3. 27% MgO, 0. 15–2. 97% Na2O, 0. 07–2. 34% K2O, and 0. 05–0. 71% V2O5 together with appreciable amounts of La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Y, U, Th, Zr, and trace amounts of Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, and Cr. Khondalite, charnockite, calc-silicate granulite, leptynite, migmatite, gneiss, basic granulite and pegmatite of the Eastern Ghats appear to be the major source for the above heavy mineral assemblages. The samples are amenable to gravity and magnetic methods of beneficiation.  相似文献

A new petrogenetic grid is presented for the system NCKFMASH (Na2O–CaO–K2O–FeO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2–H2O), in which Ca is incorporated in garnet, and CaAlNa−1Si−1 solid solution is considered for both the plagioclase and white-mica structures. A compatibility diagram for plagioclase-bearing metapelitic assemblages within the NCKFMASH system also has been derived. A dominant feature of the NCKFMASH grid is the singularities and associated singular reactions which occur along plagioclase+margarite- and plagioclase+paragonite-bearing univariant equilibria. The singularities represent compositional coplanarities which occur in response to the CaAlNa−1Si−1 substitution occurring at different rates in plagioclase and white-mica. This is controlled by a fundamental difference in the mixing within the two mineral structures. The singularities give rise to a number of intriguing phase diagram features, including azeotropes. From the results presented here, it is predicted that the occurrence of margarite and paragonite in pelitic rocks is controlled by equilibria related to the singularities. The presence of these white-micas is strongly dependent upon bulk composition, and plagioclase-bearing, margarite/paragonite-free assemblages, typical of Barrovian-type terranes, are predicted for bulk compositions of Mg/(Mg+Fe)≈0.4 and Ca/(Ca+Na)≈0.4 at for example 5.5  kbar.  相似文献

The Dayingezhuang gold deposit is located in the central part of the Zhaoping Fault Zone, which is one of the most important gold-hosting faults in the Jiaodong gold province of China. Dayingezhuang is a typical large-scale shear zone-hosted disseminated gold deposit with superimposed silver mineralization. Fluid inclusion (FI) petrography and microthermometry, and analysis of oxygen and hydrogen isotopes for fluid inclusions were conducted to determine the characteristics of the ore-forming fluids and the processes of silver mineralization. Microthermometry data of FI indicated that ore-forming fluids are characterized by low salinity and low density. Homogenization pressures of FI are estimated at 20 × 105–220 × 105 Pa. The change in ore-forming fluids from K2SO4 type to NaCl type indicates the superposition of two hydrothermal mineralizing events. Ore-forming fluids were dominated by magmatic components in the early mineralization period, and affected by meteoric waters in the late period. Gold may have been transported as Au-S or Au-Cl complexes, whereas silver was transported as Ag-Cl complexes. Early fluid boiling and later fluid mixing are thought to be two of the main factors causing the deposition and superimposing of gold and silver to form the large deposit.  相似文献

草桃背矿床白垩纪橄榄玄粗岩与铀成矿关系   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
赣南会昌断陷盆地沿石城-寻乌深断裂分布一条白垩纪橄榄玄粗岩系列的火山岩带。草桃背大型铀矿床内出露大富足岩体中-粗粒黑云母花岗岩及早白垩世晚期到晚白垩世早期橄榄玄粗岩系列火山岩。大富足花岗岩体岩石w(SiO2)平均为74.67%,碱总量(w(K2O+Na2O))平均为7.99%,w(K2O)>w(Na2O),w(CaO)平均为0.54%,w(Al2O3)>w(CaO+Na2O+K2O),属高钾钙碱性岩石系列。橄榄玄粗系列火山岩岩石w(SiO2)为45.78 %~59.78 %,w(K2O+Na2O)平均为7.37%,K2O/Na2O平均为1.02,w(TiO2)平均为0.86%, 全铁质量分数平均为7.09%,属偏碱性橄榄玄粗质火山岩类。草桃背铀矿床赋矿岩性为橄榄玄粗岩、碎裂花岗岩及隐爆角砾岩。赋存于碎裂花岗岩及隐爆角砾岩中铀矿石化学成分,与围岩花岗岩成分相似;赋存于橄榄玄粗岩中铀矿石,Fe2O3+Fe2O、CaO、MgO不同程度地带出,w(SiO2)明显增高,表明橄榄玄粗岩在成矿过程中,通过输出大量Fe、Mg、Ca等阳离子而促进铀离子从含矿溶液中沉淀。草桃背矿床的铀矿化与充填在草桃背火山口的橄榄玄粗岩关系密切,在时间上相近、在空间上相伴、在成生上相关,受橄榄玄粗岩岩浆系列热动力的影响,铀元素发生活化、转移或物质交换而成矿,成岩成矿时代属早白垩世晚期到晚白垩世早期。从草桃背铀矿床岩石学、地球化学及赋矿特征入手,总结了铀成矿是富铀矿的花岗岩基底、北东向构造及火山作用结合的产物,橄榄玄粗岩提供热源,并指出半岭、上寮、小富足等地段是寻找草桃背式铀矿床的极有利地区。  相似文献

架底金矿是近年来在黔西南新发现的主要赋存于玄武岩中的大型微细粒浸染型金矿床。为查明其成矿流体特征,探讨流体成矿机制,针对矿床不同成矿阶段采取流体包裹体样品开展工作。根据野外观察和室内分析,架底金矿热液成矿期可分为3个阶段:黄铁矿阶段、烟灰色石英阶段和硫化物阶段,其中烟灰色石英阶段为主要成矿阶段。流体包裹体以NaCl-H2O和CO2-NaCl-H2O型为主,黄铁矿阶段富CO2包裹体,均一温度(Th)为211~231℃,盐度(wt)为2.10~7.60(% NaCl equiv);烟灰色石英阶段见大量NaCl-H2O和CO2-NaCl-H2O型包裹体,均一温度(Th)为182~218℃,盐度(wt)为1.40~5.90(% NaCl equiv);硫化物阶段包裹体均一温度(Th)普遍小于183℃,盐度(wt)为0.90~5.30(% NaCl equiv)。激光拉曼光谱分析显示包裹体中含CO2、CH4、N2、SO2等气相组分,随着成矿流体均一温度、盐度和密度的不断下降,包裹体中气相组分种类也趋于简单。通过计算成矿流体的ρ、P、pH、Eh和fO2等物理化学参数,表明成矿环境具有中低温、低盐度、低密度、近中性、相对还原及低氧逸度的特征。流体包裹体组合变化表明成矿作用发生在流体CO2含量不断降低的过程,主成矿阶段流体混合和区域伸展构造引起流体沸腾作用强烈,大量金属成分(黄铁矿、自然金等)快速沉淀形成金矿体。   相似文献

鹿鸣钼矿是小兴安岭地区于近年发现的大型斑岩型钼矿床。为探讨研究区成岩成矿关系及其地质意义,在对矿化特征分析的基础上,采用LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb技术对鹿鸣地区含矿二长花岗岩测年,获得成岩年龄为 (187.1±1.2) Ma (n=15, MSWD=0.70) 。通过辉钼矿样品Re-Os同位素分析,获得等值线年龄为(177.4±3.5) Ma (n=11, MSWD=0.71) ,加权平均年龄为(178.08±0.79) Ma (n=11,MSWD=0.46)。两种方法获得的年龄大致相近,表明它们形成于同一成岩成矿系统。鹿鸣钼矿成岩成矿年龄,与乌奴格吐山铜钼矿、兰家沟钼矿和杨家杖子钼矿等矿床辉钼矿Re-Os同位素年龄相近,表明包括小兴安岭地区在内的我国东北地区广泛存在早侏罗世岩浆-成矿作用。微量元素和同位素指纹显示,鹿鸣钼矿形成于地壳挤压向拉伸转换的构造环境,成矿物质为壳幔混合来源。  相似文献

Abstract Two Archaean synvolcanic stocks with contact aureoles occur in the Wawa greenstone belt near Wawa, Ontario, Canada. The Gutcher Lake and Jubilee stocks consist mainly of granitoid trondhjemite with feldspar laths mottled by white mica + calcite + epidote and rimmed by clear albite. Biotite is partly or wholly pseudomorphosed by chlorite + sphene; some epidote is partly altered to calcite + chlorite. The granitoid phase grades into a foliated phase of quartz + albite + white mica + calcite + chlorite near fracture zones traversing the stocks.
The alteration of the Gutcher Lake stock along its foliated margin involved addition of K2O, H2O + CO2, MnO, plus Rb; loss of CaO plus Sr; and a shift in Fe+2/Fet from 0.66 to 0.81. The alteration of the Jubilee stock along the Darwin Shear involved addition of H2O + CO2; loss of Sr; and no significant shift in Fe+2/Fet. The greenschist alteration also modified the contact aureoles bordering both stocks.
One interpretation is that regional metamorphism in the Archaean overprinted a greenschist assemblage on both stocks. The alteration was intense near fracture zones and sporadic remote from fractures. Lower integrated water to rock ratios along the Darwin Shear compared to the margin of the Gutcher Lake stock may explain the comparatively lower perturbation of the element abundances and redox state of iron.  相似文献

李家岭铀矿床是最近几年在相山西部发现的一个铀矿床。矿床热液蚀变特别发育并存在明显的蚀变分带现象,在对钻孔岩心样详细的野外和室内岩相学观测基础上,将李家岭铀矿床铀矿化段分为矿化中心带、矿旁蚀变带、近矿蚀变带和远矿蚀变带,其热液蚀变强度依次减弱。运用标准化Isocon图解法表明,热液蚀变带中,CaO、FeO、Fe2O3、Na2O明显增加,这与发育赤铁矿化、钠长石化、碳酸盐化相一致;K2O明显降低,这是由于钠长石交代钾长石造成K的大量迁出;而MnO、MgO在各蚀变带中呈现“此消彼长”的特征,显示出热液蚀变交代过程中并不是简单地扩散渗滤交代,可能存在对流平衡的元素迁移方式。Th、Y、Zr、Hf等微量元素变化与铀含量一致,对铀矿化具有很好地指示作用。HREE与铀矿化关系密切,随着蚀变程度增强,HREE明显增加,显示成矿流体富含HREE,并具有深源性。  相似文献

笏山金矿床为陡崖断裂带南段内最大的金矿床,为了揭示其矿床成因,在矿床地质研究的基础上开展了矿体围岩元素地球化学和流体包裹体研究。研究结果表明:笏山金矿床沿NE向断裂发育大规模的热液蚀变带,地表出露的断裂带形成一个庞大的面形蚀变带,矿化较弱,分带不明显,钻孔显示金矿体两侧依次发育黄铁绢英岩、绢英岩化花岗岩蚀变带和二长花岗岩,金矿体主要产于陡崖断裂带下盘黄铁绢英岩蚀变带内。质量平衡计算表明:绢英岩化过程中,主量元素SiO2、Al2O3、FeO、MnO、Na2O、K2O、P2O5和部分稀土元素从二长花岗岩中迁出,而MgO、CaO、Fe2O3,成矿元素Au、Ag,亲硫元素Cu、Pb及亲铁元素V、Cr、Co、Ni迁入二长花岗岩;黄铁绢英岩化过程中,主量元素FeO、Fe2O3、MnO、MgO、CaO,成矿元素Au、Ag,亲硫元素Cu及亲铁元素V、Cr、Co、Ni迁入,SiO2、Al2O3、Na2O、K2O和P2O5迁出。岩相学观察、显微测温以及单个包裹体成分激光拉曼分析提示其流体包裹体类型主要为气液两相包裹体和含CO2三相包裹体,具有低盐度(w(NaCl)为5.33%~13.29%)和中温(260~300℃)CO2-NaCl-H2O体系,在成矿过程中,含矿流体经历了流体不混溶作用。结合矿床地质特征及实验结果分析,确定该矿床为受陡崖断裂带控制的中温蚀变岩型金矿床。  相似文献

In order to know the behaviors of radioactive elements such as cesium and strontium during a hydrothermal alteration of borosilicate glass of radioactive waste, some alumino-borosilicate glasses belonging to the systems Na2O-Al2O3-B2O3-SiO2-SrO, Na2O-Al2O3-B2O3-SiO2-Cs2O and Na2O-Al2-O3-B2O3-SiO2-SrO-Cs2O have been treated hydrothermally at 200C under a vapor pressure of 1.54 MPa. The result shows that all glasses are changed into crystalline phases with running time up to 60 days, and that analcime-type zeolite is formed as a major product. The formed zeolite is shown to contain cesium and/or strontium. Considering the fact that natural zeolite occurs in wide physicochemical conditions including hydrothermal one, the analcime-type zeolite is expected to fix stably the radioactive elements in the disposal site. Since aluminum is necessary for the formation of the analcime-type zeolite, the waste glass should have aluminum as one of major components.  相似文献

The equilibrium constant, K a, of the association reaction to form ion pairs from charged solute species in supercritical solutions can be calculated from a model based on published equations. Log K a at constant pressure is a linear function of the inverse in the dielectric constant of the fluid times temperature. The dielectric properties of H2O and CO2 at supercritical pressures and temperatures can also be evaluated using the Kirkwood equation. Using Looyenga mixing rules, the dielectric constant of H2O–CO2 mixtures can be obtained and the change in log K a with addition of CO2 in aqueous solutions evaluated. These changes in log K a with addition of CO2 are consistent with measured changes of log K a with addition of Ar in supercritical H2O–Ar solutions.
Log K a of KCl and NaCl increase to an increasing extent as the mole fraction of CO2 increases in H2O–CO2 solutions. For instance, at 2 kbar and constant temperature between 400 and 600° C, log K a of KCl increases by about two orders of magnitude whilst that of NaCl increases by over four orders of magnitude as the CO2 mole fraction increases from 0.0 to 0.35. Such changes in log K a will have dramatic effects on the solubility of minerals in CO2-rich environments.  相似文献
