在浙江椒江口潮间带采集了3个未扰动沉积物柱状样,并采用分级提取方法获得了沉积物各痕量金属的活性态和黄铁矿态分量,同时采用冷扩散法测试了酸可挥发性硫化物(AVS)。结果表明:研究区痕量金属黄铁矿矿化程度(DOP)较低,痕量金属存在较大的活性,容易参与水生系统的生物地球化学循环;但各元素的痕量金属黄铁矿矿化度(DTMP)存在较大差别,即元素As和Hg的DTMP值最大,Cu、Zn、Cd、Cr和Ni中等,Pb和Mn最小。控制黄铁矿矿化程度的因素包括沉积物是否存在大量的有机碳(OrgC)、AVS以及是否存在隔氧的还原系统。  相似文献

渤海湾沿岸贝壳堤对潮滩有孔虫海面变化指示意义的影响   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
通过对渤海湾沿岸有贝壳堤发育和无贝壳堤发育的2类现代开放潮滩有孔虫组合的对比,研究了该2类潮滩环境沉积物中有孔虫的海面指示意义。5个有孔虫组合带被MHWST(平均大潮高潮位)、MHW(平均高潮位)、MHWNT(平均大潮低潮位)和MSL(平均海面)分隔,分别对应潮滩的高盐沼、低盐沼、潮间带上部、潮间带中上部和潮间带中下部5个不同亚环境。不同亚环境沉积物因其所含的有孔虫群的独特性,均可作为高精度海面标志物,误差为各亚带高差的1/2。沿岸贝壳堤可对潮滩有孔虫的属种组成产生影响,影响程度从高潮位向低潮位逐渐降低。在MHWNT潮位之下,有孔虫组合不再受到沿岸贝壳堤的影响。  相似文献

通过多种仪器分析,测定了胶州湾李村河河口区4个沉积物柱状样品的有机碳(TOC)、酸可挥发硫化物(AVS)及重金属元素活性部分(活性金属)的含量,并系统讨论了其环境响应特征。研究发现,胶州湾李村河河口区三角洲沉积物中的有机碳、AVS和活性金属元素的分布受与河口的距离及沉积相带分布的影响。近河口细粒物质沉积区域的有机质受陆源控制,有机碳含量较高,AVS和活性金属元素含量高,活性铁的含量是AVS形成的主控因素,同时AVS也是多数活性金属元素在沉积物中的主要赋存形态。而离河口较远区域,有机碳含量受海、陆双向物源控制,AVS含量主要受控于有机质含量,两者含量均相对较低,活性金属元素含量也较低,多数金属元素(Cd、Cr、Cu、Mn、Pb、Zn等)主要以依附于铁的形态存在。根据上述沉积特点,将胶州湾李村河河口区沉积环境划分为3类区域5种类型,分别是一类区域中的水下分流河道和分流间湾,二类区域中的水下分流河道和分流间湾及三类区域中的前缘席状砂。  相似文献

本文利用取自浙江椒江河口3个未扰动柱状沉积物样,进行了孔隙水化学测试、固相沉积物的活性分量与黄铁矿分量的分级提取和测试,结果表明:Hg主要以黄铁矿态形式存在于沉积物中。As在有机碳较高的河口区潮上带和沉积速率较慢的潮下带主要以黄铁矿形态存在[DTMP(degree of trace metal pyritization,痕量元素黄铁矿矿化程度)〉50%)],而在中潮带As的黄铁矿矿化程度略低(DTMP均值为40.99%),研究区DOP(Fe的黄铁矿矿化程度)值普遍较低(〈35%),Mn-DTMP低于3.32%。从而揭示了浙江椒江河口沉积物在数厘米以下,毒性痕量元素Hg和As被高度黄铁矿矿化的规律性,并指出在遇有海事活动或风暴潮事件对海底沉积物进行扰动时,河口沉积物与充氧的海水反应,高度黄铁矿矿化的痕量元素会转变成活性态,从而导致近海生态系统的毒性事件。  相似文献

为了探索青岛近海不同沉积环境下不同痕量元素的黄铁矿化规律, 2003年5月潜水员潜入海底采集了4个不同沉积环境的未扰动柱样, 并利用Huerta-Diaz and Morse (1990)连续提取技术测试分析了沉积物痕量金属的不同存在形式(活性态和黄铁矿结合态) 在垂直剖面上的分布规律.结果表明: 除了在涨潮三角洲上部沉积和潮下带沉积物柱子的Cd和Cr外, 痕量元素的黄铁矿化度的增高取决于其相应剖面上的DOP的增高; 并且不同痕量元素向黄铁矿中转移的规模存在着较大的差别, 即元素As、Hg和Mo转移的规模最大, Cu、Zn、Cd、Cr、Co和Ni中等, Pb和Mn最小; 此外, 还进一步揭示了河流三角洲沉积物的下部各元素的黄铁矿化程度高, 而潮下带沉积物以及涨潮三角洲沉积物低.最后指出在河口水下三角洲进行的清淤工作应注意黄铁矿结合态痕量元素的活化而产生生物有效的毒性元素.   相似文献

对长江口吴淞-浏河滨岸带37个站位沉积物中酸可挥发性硫化物(AVS)和同时可提取态重金属(SEM)含量及其空间分布特征进行了研究。结果表明,SEM在37个站位沉积物中浓度范围为0.20~1.37μmol/g,平均值为0.74μmol/g;AVS的浓度范围为0.20—0.80μmol/g,平均值为0.23μmol/g;沉积物中AVS含量与总有机碳(TOC)和含水率呈显著正相关关系,而SEM分别与TOC和含水率呈显著正相关关系,与沉积物中值粒径呈显著负相关关系。依据SEM/AVS比值评价方法以及美国EPA(SEM—AVS)差值评价方法对沉积物中重金属的生物有效性的判断表明,除了B2站点无显著生物毒性外,吴淞-浏河滨岸带沉积物中重金属对水生生物均处于中等毒性水平。  相似文献

为了解潮间带微环境中磷、铁元素的分布和耦合规律及对磷释放的影响,借助薄膜扩散梯度技术(ZrO-Chelex DGT)原位高分辨率获取九龙江口红树林潮滩孔隙水剖面的溶解活性磷(DRP)、Fe2+浓度,并测定沉积物相应的理化参数.研究结果表明:(1)在表层孔隙水中,DRP、Fe2+浓度呈现显著的正相关性,证实了磷、铁元素的耦合关系以及沉积物铁氧化物对磷吸附/解吸附的控制作用;(2)在深部还原带,DRP浓度相对Fe2+浓度具有较大的波动,主要受到沉积物异质性以及红树植物吸收等的影响;(3)根据表层孔隙水中DRP的浓度梯度计算获得磷的分子扩散通量为0.000 64~0.006 00 μg·cm-2·d-1,结果远低于一般湖泊沉积物内源磷的扩散通量,原因是富铁且具较深氧化带的潮滩沉积物中的磷-铁耦合关系有效地抑制了磷的释放.   相似文献

以江苏如东潮滩为研究区,采用沉积动力学垂向二维概念模型来模拟正常天气和台风期间潮滩沉积的空间分布特征,探讨台风风暴潮对潮滩正常沉积层序的改造作用.模拟结果表明,在涨落潮时间-流速对称特征明显的如东海岸,潮汐作用使潮滩沉积呈显著的分带性,且剖面形态向“双凸形”演化,两个“凸点”分别位于平均高潮位和平均低潮位附近.在台风期间风暴增水效应下,开边界悬沙浓度差异将导致潮滩冲淤和沉积分布格局的变化,潮上带和潮间带上部均堆积泥质沉积物,潮间带中下部在风暴过程中普遍遭受不同程度的砂质沉积物侵蚀或之后堆积泥质沉积物,在沉积层序中形成风暴冲刷面.因此,潮滩的风暴沉积记录存在于潮间带上部或更高部位.以此模型为基础,可进一步综合考虑极浅水边界层水动力结构、沉积物粒度分布变化、波-流联合作用、台风降水、互花米草等生物活动、潮沟摆动及人工围垦等因素,从而建立风暴事件在沉积层序中的时间序列,更好地解译沉积记录中的古环境信息.  相似文献

以长江河口典型潮间带(崇明东滩湿地)不同地貌单元植被根际柱样沉积物(0~33 cm)为研究对象,探讨了长江河口潮间带表层沉积环境中酸挥发性硫化物(AVS)的时空间变化特征及其与环境因子的关系.结果表明,不同植被根际沉积物中 AVS 含量存在显著季节变化,表现为:互花米草大于海三棱藨草和芦苇.各采样点根际沉积物中 AVS 含量垂向变化为:高潮滩芦苇,随深度的增加而降低;中潮滩互花米草与海三棱藨草,随深度的增加先增大后减小,且在地面下约20 cm 处显著增大. Pearson 相关分析表明,沉积物中 AVS含量与<16μm 的颗粒物、有机碳含量及含水率之间不存在简单的正相关关系.根际沉积物中 AVS 含量的时空变化可能受潮汐、植被生长等因素的综合影响,其时空变化特征反映了长江河口潮滩复杂多变的氧化还原条件.与芦苇和海三棱藨草相比,入侵物种互花米草对沉积物中硫酸盐异化还原有显著影响,其可能改变了潮滩湿地生态系统原有的氧化-还原生物地球化学循环过程  相似文献

为探析长江口沉积物-水界面砷的迁移转化机制,本文分析了2019年夏季长江口4个站位上覆水和间隙水中总As浓度及形态的剖面变化特征,耦合氧化还原敏感元素(Fe、Mn和S)的剖面变化剖析了沉积物-水界面砷循环的Fe-Mn-S控制机制,同时结合砷相关功能基因探讨了沉积物-水界面砷迁移转化的微生物调控过程,估算了沉积物-水界面总As的扩散通量。结果表明,除A7-4站位外,长江口其他3个站位间隙水总As以As3+为主要存在形态,且总As浓度均在上覆水中为最低值(0.748~1.57 μg·L-1),而在间隙水中随着深度增加而逐渐增加并在6~9 cm深度达到峰值(7.14~26.9 μg·L-1)。间隙水总As及As3+浓度的剖面变化趋势与溶解态Fe2+、Mn2+相似,其均在中间层出现高值,说明沉积物Fe/Mn还原带砷的释放可能是随固相Fe(Ⅲ)或Mn(Ⅳ)的还原而转移到间隙水中的。氧化层和Fe/Mn还原带过渡区间隙水砷浓度与砷异化还原菌功能基因arrAarsC丰度存在对应关系(除A1-3站外),说明砷异化还原菌将溶解As5+或固相As5+还原为溶解As3+可能是该过渡层砷迁移转化的另一重要过程。硫酸盐还原带的间隙水总As和As3+浓度降低,但由于间隙水的低S2-浓度不利于砷硫化物生成,因此深层间隙水砷可能与铁硫矿物结合而被移除。底层环境氧化还原条件是影响沉积物-水界面砷迁移转化的重要因素,随底层水DO浓度的降低,砷迁移转化更倾向于微生物还原控制。长江口沉积物-水界面总As的扩散通量为1.18×10-7~2.07×10-7 μmol·cm-2·s-1,均表现为沉积物间隙水中总As向上覆水释放,即沉积物是研究区域水体总As的来源之一。  相似文献

Particulate trace metal (Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb and Zn) and major element (Fe, Mn and Al) concentrations have been determined following intensive sampling over two consecutive spring tidal cycles in the 'turbidity maximum zone' (TMZ) of the Port Jackson estuary, Australia. Salinity, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, suspended particulate matter (SPM) and chlorophyll a were also determined. A three-factor analysis of variance was used to test temporal variability in concentrations of particulate trace metals and major elements as a result of tidal oscillation. Estuarine master variables, such as temperature and pH, varied within a narrow range; nevertheless, the tidal signal was clear for surface and bottom waters. In surface water, no variance was detected in SPM concentrations between consecutive tidal cycles or between tidal stages (i.e. flood, ebb and slack water). In bottom water, however, SPM concentrations were significantly higher (PА.05) at flood tide than at slack high water and ebb tide. Concentrations of particulate trace metals and major elements in surface water do not display significant variability between tidal cycles or stages. Nevertheless, differences within each tidal stage were significant (PА.05) for all elements. In bottom water, only particulate Fe and Al exhibited significant differences (PА.05) between tidal cycles, whereas particulate Ni was the only trace element that presented significant differences (PА.05) between tidal stages, following the distribution of SPM, with highest concentrations at flood tide. Among the metals studied, significant variation was found at all three temporal scales examined (i.e. from hours to consecutive tidal cycles), although the patterns of variation were different for each metal. The semi-diurnal fluctuation of SPM and particulate trace metal concentrations during spring tides is interpreted as a resuspension-deposition cycle caused by cyclical oscillations of bottom currents. The results are discussed in the context of the implications of tidal cycle influence on the geochemistry and cycling of particulate trace metals in the Port Jackson estuary.  相似文献

Distribution of AVS (acid volatile sulfide)-SEM (simultaneously extracted metals), transformation mechanism and risk assessment of heavy metals in the Nanhai Lake in Baotou City were discussed in this work. The results showed that the content of heavy metals in sediments increased due to the water pumped from the Yellow River, domestic sewage, municipal runoff and yacht waste release. Increasing water depth, domestic sewage influx and hydrophyte booming made the AVS level higher in downstream than upstream. The vertical distribution of AVS is characterized as multiple-peak in the sediment cores from the studied lake. Comparatively, the control abilities of the carbonate and sulfate to the heavy metals were five orders of magnitude lower than the sulfide phase. Therefore, AVS was the key factor controlling the precipitation of heavy metals in the Nanhai Lake. The ratio of SEM/AVS in the sediments, the acute sediment quality criteria and the chronic sediment quality criteria indicated that no acute toxicity for benthic organisms can be expected, and the AVS plays an important role in controlling the bioavailability and toxicity of heavy metals in the Nanhai Lake.  相似文献

The bioavailability of trace metals can be directly linked with many common animal and human diseases. It is easier to correlate regional geochemical trends with disease distribution in the developing world because local populations and animals live from the land. In the western world, humans tend to live from the global food market whereas animals graze on the land. Recent biochemical studies have shown that the prion protein needs copper to keep its structure. If copper is not available, the prion protein can take up manganese and unfold. Preliminary results for trace metals in soil samples from scrapie-affected areas in Iceland show that bioavailable manganese manganese (easily reducible and exchangeable Mn) is very high whereas soluble copper and free copper are very low.  相似文献

A core collected in the Guaymas Basin contained an organic-poor, Mn oxide-rich and (relatively) Fe oxide-rich turbidite layer that affected the distribution of Fe, Mn, C, S and trace metals. Results indicate that sediments not influenced by the turbidite layer achieved a 100% degree of pyritization and, by extension, that pyrite production is Fe-limited in these sediments. In contrast, the mud slide layer apparently supplied enough reactive Fe to transfer essentially 98% of the total S present at the base of the turbidite (17–19 cm) to the pyrite reservoir. C/S ratios showed rapid decreases with depth, from a high of 38 close to the sediment-water interface, to minimum values of 2.8 at the lower limit of the turbidite layer, a ratio equal to the average C/S value of normal marine modern sediments, where concentrations of organic C and pyrite supposedly have attained quasi-steady values. A significant part of the reactive Mn was associated with carbonates (41±12%) and, to a much lower degree, with pyrite (2.7±1.2%). The turbidite layer is currently showing a depletion of Mn relative to the host sediment. It is possible that Mn, a major metal constituent in these sediments, was initially present in high concentrations in the mud slide, but was eventually mobilized and transferred either to the water column or to the sediments immediately below the turbidite layer. Metals associated with this element probably followed the same path, affecting their incorporation into pyrite. The turbidite layer apparently affected the distribution of most of the trace metals associated with pyrite, except maybe Cd, Pb and, to a certain, extent Cr. However, Cu, Cr, Zn, Ni and Co were all found to be highly pyritized (>80%) in the sediments of the Guaymas Basin.  相似文献

Three undisturbed sediment samples were collected from the intertidal zone of the Jiaojiang Estuary of Zhejiang Province, China. The sediments were found to contain remarkably low concentrations of organic carbon (<0.6%) and acid volatile sulfide (AVS) (<30 μmol g−1). The availability of these two substrates likely constrained sulfate reduction and pyritization of several trace metals, respectively. This was especially true at one station where AVS concentrations in the upper 20 cm averaged less than 0.05 μmol g−1. Although the depth dependence of the degree of trace metal pyritization was generally consistent with expectations based on redox conditions, depth profiles of reactive-metal and pyrite-metal concentrations in several cases revealed more complex behavior and a positive correlation between reactive-metal concentrations and pore water metal concentrations.  相似文献

Porewater concentration profiles were determined for Fe, trace elements (As, Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn), sulfide, SO4 and pH in two Canadian Shield lakes (Chevreuil and Clearwater). Profiles of pyrite, sedimentary trace elements associated with pyrite and AVS were also obtained at the same sites. Thermodynamic calculations are used, for the anoxic porewaters where sulfide was measured, to characterize diagenetic processes involving sulfide and trace elements and to illustrate the importance of sulfide, and possibly polysulfides and thiols, in binding trace elements. The ion activity products (IAP) of Fe sulfide agree with the solubility products (Ks) of greigite or mackinawite. For Co, Ni and Zn, IAP values are close to the KS values of their sulfide precipitates; for Cu and Pb, IAP/Ks indicate large oversaturations, which can be explained by the presence of other ligands (not measured) such as polysulfides (Cu) and thiols (Pb). Cobalt, Cu, Ni and Zn porewater profiles generally display a decrease in concentration with increasing ΣH2S, as expected for transition metals, whereas Cd, Pb and Zn show an increase (mobilisation). The results suggest that removal of trace elements from anoxic porewaters occurs by coprecipitation (As and Mn) with FeS(s) and/or adsorption (As and Mn) on FeS(s), and by formation of discrete solid sulfides (Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn and Co). Reactive Fe is extensively sulfidized (51–65%) in both lakes, mostly as pyrite, but also as AVS. Similarities between As, Co, Cu and Ni to Fe ratios in pyrite and their corresponding mean diffusive flux ratios suggest that pyrite is an important sink at depth for these trace elements. High molar ratios of trace elements to Fe in pyrite from Clearwater Lake correspond chronologically to the onset of smelting activities. AVS can be an important reservoir of reactive As, Cd and Ni and, to a lesser extent, of Co, Cu and Pb. Overall, the trace elements most extensively sulfidized were Ni, Cd and As (maximum of 100%, 81% and 49% of the reactive fraction, respectively), whereas Co, Cu, Mn, Pb and Zn were only moderately sulfidized (11–16%).  相似文献

Two benthic microalgal species, Euglena proxima (Dangeard) and the diatom Hantzschia virgata var. intermedia (Grun) Round, congregated at the sediment surface of intertidal sand flats surrounding the Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, North Carolina, during low tide and migrated below the surface prior to tidal flooding. E. proxima was found down to a depth of 12 cm below the surface during high tide while H. virgata was not found below 8 cm. One potential advantage of vertical migration for benthic microalgae is avoidance of the sediment surface during high tide when the winnowing action of waves can remove cells from the intertidal habitat. This hypothesis was tested by comparing the mean depths of E. proxima and H. virgata exposed to calm water conditions with their mean depths under wave-exposed conditions in shallow outdoor tidal tanks equipped with wave generators. Two sediment treatments were tested in each tank to evaluate the effect of a subsurface layer of black sediment (subsurface sediments, presumably reduced) on vertical migration: a uniform column of light brown sand (surface sediments; presumably oxygenated), and a layered column with light brown sand overlying a layer of black sediment. One-way and two-way ANOVAs indicated that wave action increased the mean depth of both species under certain conditions related to the presence, absence, and depth of a subsurface layer of black sediment. In an experiment with a shallow black layer (5 mm), wave action did not result in a significant increase in the mean depth of H. virgata as it did in a previous experiment with a deeper black layer (3 cm). Unlike H. virgata, E. proxima exhibited a wave effect only in the absence of a subsurface black layer. A subsurface black layer seemed to reinforce downward migration in E. proxima under both calm water and wave conditions. The arrangement of sediment couplets preserved in Thalassinoides shafts suggests that tides regulated the passive filling of these trace fossils and, thus, represent tubular tidalites. The thickness variation in individual layers and couplets implies a mixed diurnal, semi‐diurnal tidal signature where packages of either thick‐layered or thin‐layered couplets alternate. Calcarenitic sediment accumulated when tidal current velocity was too high to allow deposition of mud, whereas a marly mud layer is interpreted to have formed during more tranquil times of a tidal cycle (in particular, low‐tide slack water). The tidal record within the burrows covers a few weeks and the corresponding spring–neap cycles. The fill of the Thalassinoides shafts is the only known record to decipher the tidal signature from otherwise totally bioturbated sediments. These deposits accumulated in a lower‐shoreface to upper‐offshore setting during the late Miocene on a shallow shelf extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the west into northern Patagonia. The fill of all investigated burrows started around spring tide and, thus, the behaviour of the burrow producers – probably crustaceans – is speculated to have been affected by tides or the high water level because all studied burrows became abandoned around the same period of a tidal cycle.  相似文献

The relatively low cost of lands along with a privileged location near an urban center attracted industry to the Meadowlands of New Jersey and the absence of regulations resulted in vast amounts of industrial waste emitted into the air and dumped to nearby estuaries and marshlands. Hurricane Sandy created an unprecedented sea surge that overtopped berms and tide gates and extensively flooded approximately 22.8 km2 of a low lying basin that includes Berry’s Creek, a tributary to the Hackensack River and well known for its legacy of high levels of contamination. The sea surge connected Berry’s Creek with eastern creeks that flow into the Hackensack River for several tidal cycles. The objectives of this study were to establish a baseline for organic pollutants and heavy metals post Superstorm Sandy, determine whether contaminants from highly contaminated areas moved to the eastern creeks during the surge and measure contaminant gradients around tide gates. Cadmium, mercury and chromium were the most abundant contaminants in sediments, and pollutants responsible for the highest ecological risk were Hg and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Concentrations of PCBs were higher in the western creeks and contrary to metals did not show concentration gradients from either side of tide gates. Massive export of contaminants from western to eastern creeks due to the surge was not apparent. The abundance of heavy metals in the vicinity of tide gates shows that they play a role in their distribution across the estuary.  相似文献
