The chaotic orbital dynamics of the planet in the wide visual binary star system 16 Cyg is considered. The only planet in this system has a significant orbital eccentricity, e = 0.69. Previously, Holman et al. suggested the possibility of chaos in the orbital dynamics of the planet due to the proximity of 16 Cyg to the separatrix of the Lidov–Kozai resonance. We have calculated the Lyapunov characteristic exponents on the set of possible orbital parameters for the planet. In all cases, the dynamics of 16 Cyg is regular with a Lyapunov time of more than 30 000 yr. The dynamics is considered in detail for several possible models of the planetary orbit; the dependences of Lyapunov exponents on the time of their calculation and the time dependences of osculating orbital elements have been constructed. Phase space sections for the system dynamics near the Lidov–Kozai resonance have been constructed for all models. A chaotic behavior in the orbital motion of the planet in 16 Cyg is shown to be unlikely, because 16 Cyg in phase space is far from the separatrix of the Lidov–Kozai resonance at admissible orbital parameters, with the chaotic layer near the separatrix being very narrow.  相似文献

A review is given of modern numerical methods for the analysis of resonant and chaotic dynamics: calculation of the Lyapunov characteristic exponents, the MEGNO method, and the maximum eccentricity method. These methods are used to construct stability diagrams for the planetary systems γ Cep, HD 196885, and HD 41004. The diagrams are analyzed to determine the most probable values taken by the orbital parameters of the exoplanets and obtain estimates for the Lyapunov time of their orbital dynamics. The stability diagrams constructed using the different methods are compared to analyze their effectiveness in the study of secular dynamics of exoplanetary systems.  相似文献

To identify temporal variations of the characteristics of Jupiter’s cloud layer, we take into account the geometric modulation caused by the rotation of the planet and planetary orbital motion. Inclination of the rotation axis to the orbital plane of Jupiter is 3.13°, and the angle between the magnetic axis and the rotation axis is β ≈ 10°. Therefore, over a Jovian year, the jovicentric magnetic declination of the Earth φ m varies from–13.13° to +13.13°, and the subsolar point on Jupiter’s magnetosphere is shifted by 26.26° per orbital period. In this connection, variations of the Earth’s jovimagnetic latitude on Jupiter will have a prevailing influence in the solar-driven changes of reflective properties of the cloud cover and overcloud haze on Jupiter. Because of the orbit eccentricity (e = 0.048450), the northern hemisphere receives 21% greater solar energy inflow to the atmosphere, because Jupiter is at perihelion near the time of the summer solstice. The results of our studies have shown that the brightness ratio A j of northern to southern tropical and temperate regions is an evident factor of photometric activity of Jupiter’s atmospheric processes. The analysis of observational data for the period from 1962 to 2015 reveals the existence of cyclic variations of the activity factor A j of the planetary hemispheres with a period of 11.86 years, which allows us to talk about the seasonal rearrangement of Jupiter’s atmosphere.  相似文献

The Hill stability criterion is applied to analyse the stability of a planet in the binary star system of HD 41004 AB, with the primary and secondary separated by 22 AU, and masses of 0.7 M and 0.4 M, respectively. The primary hosts one planet in an S‐type orbit, and the secondary hosts a brown dwarf (18.64 MJ) on a relatively close orbit, 0.0177 AU, thereby forming another binary pair within this binary system. This star‐brown dwarf pair (HD 41004 B+Bb) is considered a single body during our numerical calculations, while the dynamics of the planet around the primary, HD 41004 Ab, is studied in different phase‐spaces. HD 41004 Ab is a 2.6 MJ planet orbiting at the distance of 1.7 AU with orbital eccentricity 0.39. For the purpose of this study, the system is reduced to a three‐body problem and is solved numerically as the elliptic restricted three‐body problem (ERTBP). The Hill stability function is used as a chaos indicator to configure and analyse the orbital stability of the planet, HD 41004 Ab. The indicator has been effective in measuring the planet's orbital perturbation due to the secondary star during its periastron passage. The calculated Hill stability time series of the planet for the coplanar case shows the stable and quasi‐periodic orbits for at least ten million years. For the reduced ERTBP the stability of the system is also studied for different values of planet's orbital inclination with the binary plane. Also, by recording the planet's ejection time from the system or collision time with a star during the integration period, stability of the system is analysed in a bigger phase‐space of the planet's orbital inclination, ≤ 90°, and its semimajor axis, 1.65–1.75 AU. Based on our analysis it is found that the system can maintain a stable configuration for the planet's orbital inclination as high as 65° relative to the binary plane. The results from the Hill stability criterion and the planet's dynamical lifetime map are found to be consistent with each other. (© 2016 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Using the spectrophotometric measurements data of 2015, the relation of values of the imaginary part n i of aerosol refractive index was determined for latitudinal belts 17° N, 33° N, 49° N, and 66° N of Saturn’s disc. A steadily decreasing tendency in the relative n i values when moving northward from the equatorial region of the disk to the latitude 49° N, inclusive, was revealed. The n i values in the 17° N and 49° N belts were found to differ significantly from other latitudinal regions of the giant planet’s disk.  相似文献

We numerically investigate the stability of systems of 1 \({{\rm M}_{\oplus}}\) planets orbiting a solar-mass star. The systems studied have either 2 or 42 planets per occupied semimajor axis, for a total of 6, 10, 126, or 210 planets, and the planets were started on coplanar, circular orbits with the semimajor axes of the innermost planets at 1 AU. For systems with two planets per occupied orbit, the longitudinal initial locations of planets on a given orbit were separated by either 60° (Trojan planets) or 180°. With 42 planets per semimajor axis, initial longitudes were uniformly spaced. The ratio of the semimajor axes of consecutive coorbital groups in each system was approximately uniform. The instability time for a system was taken to be the first time at which the orbits of two planets with different initial orbital distances crossed. Simulations spanned virtual times of up to 1 × 108, 5 × 105, and 2 × 105 years for the 6- and 10-planet, 126-planet, and 210-planet systems, respectively. Our results show that, for a given class of system (e.g., five pairs of Trojan planets orbiting in the same direction), the relationship between orbit crossing times and planetary spacing is well fit by the functional form log(t c /t 0) = b β + c, where t c is the crossing time, t 0 = 1 year, β is the separation in initial orbital semimajor axis (in terms of the mutual Hill radii of the planets), and b and c are fitting constants. The same functional form was observed in the previous studies of single planets on nested orbits (Smith and Lissauer 2009). Pairs of Trojan planets are more stable than pairs initially separated by 180°. Systems with retrograde planets (i.e., some planets orbiting in the opposite sense from others) can be packed substantially more closely than can systems with all planets orbiting in the same sense. To have the same characteristic lifetime, systems with 2 or 42 planets per orbit typically need to have about 1.5 or 2 times the orbital separation as orbits occupied by single planets, respectively.  相似文献

We measured the radial velocity of the star θ1 Ori D from IUE spectra and used published observations. Based on these data, we determined the period of its radial-velocity variations, P=20.2675±0.0010 days, constructed the phase radial-velocity curve, and solved it by least squares. The spectroscopic orbital elements were found to be the following: the epoch of periastron passage Ep=JD 2430826.6±0.1, the system's center-of-mass velocity /Gg=32.4±1.0 km s?1, K=14.3±1.5 km s?1, Ω=3.3±0.1 rad, e=0.68±0.09, a1 sin i = 3 × 1010 km, and f1 = 0.0025M. Twice the period, P=40.528±0.002 days, is also consistent with the observations.  相似文献

In 1946, E. Sevin postulated the global vibrations of the Sun with a period P 0 = 1/9 day and a “wavelength” L 0 = c × P 0 = 19.24 AU and predicted the tenth planet at a mean distance of 4.0 × L 0 ≈ 77.0 AU from the Sun (c is the speed of light). The global vibrations of the Sun, precisely with the period of 1/9 day, were actually detected in 1974. Recently, the largest Kuiper Bell object 2003 UB313, or Eris, with an orbital semimajor axis ≈ 3.5 × L 0 ≈ 67.5 AU was discovered. We adduce arguments for the status of Eris as our tenth planet: (i) the object is larger and farther from the Sun than Pluto and (ii) the semimajor axis of Eris agrees well with the sequence of planetary distances that follows from the resonance spectrum of the Solar system dimensions (with the scale L 0 and for all 11 orbits, including those of Pluto, Eris, and the asteroid belt). We point to a mistake of the Prague (2006) IAU Assembly, which excluded Pluto from the family of planets by introducing a new, highly controversial class of objects—“dwarf planets.”  相似文献

We present the results of the study of the eclipsing polar CRTS CSS081231 J071126+440405. Photometric observations allowed us to refine the orbital period of the system \(P_ \circ = 0_ \cdot ^d 0.08137673\). Considerable changes in the appearance of the object’s spectra have occurred over the period of September 20–21, 2001: the slope of the continuum changed from “red” to “blue”, and the variability of the line profiles over the duration of the orbital period has also changed. Doppler maps have shown a shift of the emission line-forming region along the accretion stream closer to the white dwarf. We measured the duration of the eclipse of the system and imposed constraints on the inclination angle \(78_ \cdot ^ \circ 7 < i < 79_ \cdot ^ \circ 3\). The derived radial velocity amplitude was used to obtain the basic parameters of the system: M1 = 0.86 ± 0.08M, M2 = 0.18 ± 0.02 M, q = 0.21 ± 0.01, RL2 = 0.20 ± 0.03 R, A = 0.80 ± 0.03 R. The spectra of the object exhibit cyclotron harmonics. Their comparison with model spectra allowed us to determine the parameters of the accretion column: B = 31–34 MG, Te = 10–12 keV, θ = 80–90°, and Λ = 105.  相似文献

Based on high-resolution spectra taken near the He I 6678 Å line for the massive binary system 103 Tau, we have detected a weak absorption component belonging to the binary’s secondary component. We have measured the radial velocities of both components, improved the previously known orbital parameters, and determined the new ones. The binary has an orbital period P orb = 58.305d, an orbital eccentricity e = 0.277, a radial velocity semi-amplitude of the bright component K A = 44.8 km s?1, and a component mass ratio M A /M B = 1.77. The absence of photometric variability and the estimates of physical parameters for the primary component suggest that the binary most likely has a considerable inclination of the orbital plane to the observer, i ≈ 50°?60°. In this case, the secondary component is probably a normal dwarf of spectral type B5–B8. Based on the spectra taken near the H α line, we have studied the variability of the emission profile. It is shown to be formed in the Roche lobe of the secondary component, but no traces of active mass exchange in the binary have been detected.  相似文献

We investigate the change in the orbital period of a binary system due to dynamical tides by taking into account the evolution of a main-sequence star. Three stars with masses of one, one and a half, and two solar masses are considered. A star of one solar mass at lifetimes t = 4.57 × 109 yr closely corresponds to our Sun. We show that a planet of one Jupiter mass revolving around a star of one solar mass will fall onto the star in the main-sequence lifetime of the star due to dynamical tides if the initial orbital period of the planet is less than P orb ≈ 2.8 days. Planets of one Jupiter mass with an orbital period P orb ≈ 2 days or shorter will fall onto a star of one and a half and two solar masses in the mainsequence lifetime of the star.  相似文献

In this paper of the series we analyze three stars listed among stars with discrepant v sin i: HD9531 and HD31592, which also show radial velocity variations inherent to spectroscopic binaries, and HD129174 which is an Mn-type star with a possible magnetic field. In HD9531 we confirm the radial velocity derived fromthe hydrogen lines as well as fromthe Ca II line at 3933 Å as variable. The profile of the calcium line also appears variable, and with the estimated magnetic induction Be = ?630 ± 1340 G, this suggests that the abundance of calcium possibly varies over the surface of the star. We identified the lines of the secondary component in the spectrum of HD31592 revealing thus it is an SB2 binary with B9.5V and A0V components. While the primary star rotates with v sin i = 50 km s?1, the secondary star is faster with v sin i = 170 km s?1. We find that only 60% of the Mn lines identified in the spectrum of HD129174 can be fitted with a unique abundance value, whereas the remaining lines are stronger or fainter. We also identified two Xe II lines at 5339.33 Å and 5419.15 Å and estimated their log g f.  相似文献

In this paper we briefly study changes in the mean seasonal insolations on the planet Mars caused by significant large-scale variations in the following orbital elements: the eccentricity (e), the obliquity (ε) and the longitude of perihelion (λ p ). Three orbital configurations have been investigated. In the first, the eccentricity equals successively 0, 0.075, and 0.15, whereas for the obliquity and the longitude of perihelion we took the present values which amount, respectively to 25° and 250°. In the second situation, ε=15, 25, and 35° for a circular orbit (e=0) and with λ p =250°. In the last model we have sete=0.075 and ε=25° for λ p =?90,0, and 90°. Although long-term periodic oscillations ofe (first case) and λ p (third case) produce, respectively, very small or no variations in the average yearly insolation, fluctuations of the above mentioned planetary data strongly effect the mean summer and winter daily insolations. Indeed, the calculations reveal that between the two extreme values of the orbital elements used, the seasonal insolations exhibit a change in amplitude of about 15 to 20% difference over the entire latitude interval. Considering more particularly the second case it is found that the summertime insolation experiences a nearly similar variation as the mean annual daily insolation — i.e., a decrease of about 7% at the equator and a more than twofold increase at the poles. The corresponding mean winter daily insolation varies maximally by approximately 60% in the 60–80° latitude range.  相似文献

Based on CCD observations with the Pulkovo 26-inch refractor in 2003–2018, we have obtained the orbit of the visual double star ADS 2668 AB (P = 947 yr, a = 2.9″, e = 0.41, ω = 246°, Ω = 131°, i = 114°, T = 1456 yr) for the first time by the apparent motion parameter (AMP) method, which is consistent with the inner orbit of ADS 2668 Aa-Ab, and improved the orbit of ADS 8236 AB (P = 1996 yr, a = 4.69″, e = 0.39, ω = 201°, Ω = 166°, i = 110°, T = 1246 yr). The inner orbit of the photocenter of ADS 8236 with a period of 4.627 yr has been calculated from the residuals. This orbit of ADS 8236 Ba–Bb supplements the spectroscopic orbit by the elements specifying the orbital plane (i and Ω). In both cases, the planes of the inner and outer orbits are noncoplanar. The presence of an additional companion in the system ADS 2668 is discussed.  相似文献

Our work deals with the dynamical possibility that in extrasolar planetary systems a terrestrial planet may have stable orbits in a 1:1 mean motion resonance with a Jovian like planet. We studied the motion of fictitious Trojans around the Lagrangian points L4/L5 and checked the stability and/or chaoticity of their motion with the aid of the Lyapunov Indicators and the maximum eccentricity. The computations were carried out using the dynamical model of the elliptic restricted three‐body problem that consists of a central star, a gas giant moving in the habitable zone, and a massless terrestrial planet. We found 3 new systems where the gas giant lies in the habitable zone, namely HD99109, HD101930, and HD33564. Additionally we investigated all known extrasolar planetary systems where the giant planet lies partly or fully in the habitable zone. The results show that the orbits around the Lagrangian points L4/L5 of all investigated systems are stable for long times (107 revolutions). (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. HD 196885 Ab is the most ??extreme?? planet-in-a-binary discovered to date, whose orbit places it at the limit for orbital stability. The presence of a planet in such a highly perturbed region poses a clear challenge to planet-formation scenarios. We investigate this issue by focusing on the planet-formation stage that is arguably the most sensitive to binary perturbations: the mutual accretion of kilometre-sized planetesimals. To this effect we numerically estimate the impact velocities dv amongst a population of circumprimary planetesimals. We find that most of the circumprimary disc is strongly hostile to planetesimal accretion, especially the region around 2.6 AU (the planet??s location) where binary perturbations induce planetesimal-shattering dv of more than 1 kms?1. Possible solutions to the paradox of having a planet in such accretion-hostile regions are (1) that initial planetesimals were very big, at least 250 km (2) that the binary had an initial orbit at least twice the present one, and was later compacted due to early stellar encounters (3) that planetesimals did not grow by mutual impacts but by sweeping of dust (the ??snowball?? growth mode identified by Xie et al., in Astrophys J 724:1153, 2010b), or (4) that HD 196885 Ab was formed not by core-accretion but by the concurrent disc instability mechanism. All of these 4 scenarios remain however highly conjectural.  相似文献

In 2013–2015 the Laboratory of spectroscopy and photometry of extragalactic objects (LS-PEO) of the Special Astrophysical Observatory together with Armenian specialists upgraded the 1-m Schmidt telescope of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. We completely redesigned the control system of the telescope: we replaced the actuating mechanisms, developed telescope control software, and made the guiding system. We reworked and prepared a 4k × 4k Apogee (USA) liquid-cooled CCD with RON ~ 11.1 e?, a pixel size of 0.″868, and field of view of about 1□°, and in October 2015 mounted it in the focus of the telescope. The detector is equipped with a turret bearing 20 intermediate-band filters (FWHM = 250 Å) uniformly covering the 4000–9000 Å wavelength range, five broadband filters (u, g, r, i, z SDSS), and three narrow-band filters (5000 Å, 6560 Å and 6760 Å, FWHM = 100 Å). During the first year of test operation of the 1-m telescope we performed pilot observations within the framework of three programs: search for young stellar objects, AGNevolution, and stellar composition of galaxy disks. We confirmed the possibility of efficiently selecting of young objects using observations performed in narrow-band Hα and [SII] filters and the intermediate-band 7500 Å filter. Three-hours long exposures with SDSS g-, r-, and i-band filters allow us to reach the surface brightness level of 28m/□″ when investigating the stellar content of galaxy disks for a sample of nine galaxies. We used observations performed with the 1-m telescope in five broadband (SDSS u, g, r, i, and z) and 15 intermediate-band filters (4000–7500 Å) to construct a sample of quasar candidates with 0.5 < z < 5 (330 objects) in about one-sq. degree SA68 field complete down to RAB = 23m. Spectroscopic observations of 29 objects (19.m5 < R < 22m) carried out at the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences confirmed the quasar nature of 28 objects.  相似文献

We give arguments for a basically unified formation mechanism of slow (Lynden-Bell) and fast (common) galactic bars. This mechanism is based on an instability that is akin to the well-known instability of radial orbits and is produced by the mutual attraction and alignment of precessing stellar orbits (so far, only the formation of slow bars has been explained in this way). We present a general theory of the low-frequency modes in a disk that consists of orbits precessing at different angular velocities. The problem of determining these modes is reduced to integral equations of moderately complex structure. The characteristic pattern angular velocities Ωp of the low-frequency modes are of the order of the mean orbital precession angular velocity \(\bar \Omega _{pr}\). Bar modes are also among the low-frequency modes; while \(\Omega _p \approx \bar \Omega _{pr}\) for slow bars, Ωp for fast bars can appreciably exceed even the maximum orbital precession angular velocity in the disk Ω pr max (however, it remains of the order of these precession angular velocities). The possibility of such an excess of Ωp over Ω pr max is associated with the effect of “repelling” orbits. The latter tend to move in a direction opposite to the direction in which they are pushed. We analyze the pattern of orbital precession in potentials typical of galactic disks. We note that the maximum radius of an “attracting” circular orbit rc can serve as a reasonable estimate of the bar length lb. Such an estimate is in good agreement with the available results of N-body simulations.  相似文献

We present the results of measuring longitudinal magnetic fields (Be), rotation velocities (ve sin i), and radial velocities (Vr) of 44 stars observed with the Main Stellar Spectrograph (MSS) of the 6-m BTA telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory in 2009. For the first time, magnetic fields were detected for the stars HD5441, HD199180, HD225627, and BD+00° 4535. We show that for the same stars, the longitudinal fields Be measured from the Hβ hydrogen line core and from metal lines can differ by 10% and up to a factor of 2–3. Except in rare cases, magnetic fields measured from the metal lines are stronger. We believe that this phenomenon is of a physical nature and depends on the magnetic field topology and the physical conditions inside a specific star. Observations of standard stars without magnetic fields confirm the absence of systematic errors capable of introducing distortions into the longitudinal-field measurement results. In this work we comment on the results for each of the stars.  相似文献

Optical polarimetry is suggested as a new method for detecting “hot Jupiter” planets around stars. The polarimetric search method has been tested experimentally; for this purpose, the necessary astronomical observations and their processing have been performed. The results obtained allow us to assert with caution that the suggested method yields positive results and can be of use both in searching for exoplanets and in refining their masses. According to our results, a tangential transit of the planet 51 Peg b may be observed. The angle between the orbital plane of 51 Peg b and the observer’s direction must then be small, sin i ≈ 1, and the mass of 51 Peg b must be close to 0.46 M J (Jupiter mass).  相似文献
