110 samples from two swimming-pools were gas-chromatographically investigated for halogenated hydrocarbons. In spite of varying chlorine concentrations between 0.1 and 2.5 mg/l Cl2 the bacteriological results were unobjectionable. The total of the haloforms was between 1.2 and 182 μg/l, with the average value of 90 μg/l. Besides CHCl3, CHBrCl2, CHBr2Cl and CCl3NO2 there were observed other, still unidentified compounds in the chlorinated bathing water which clearly are successive products of disinfection, too. The water treatment by flocculation and filtration does not bring about any elimination of trihalomethanes. Of special importance is the occurrence of trichloronitromethane in concentrations of 0.13 … 1.2 μg/l, whose LC50 in the Daphnia test is 189 μg/l, at a threshold concentration of 160 μg/l. To limit the pollution of water and air to a minimum, specific conditions must be adhered to in the operation of indoor swimming-pools.  相似文献

Two research cruises on the Baltic Sea, in July and November of 1979, were made for investigating the Baltic Sea water for its contents of dissolved cadmium, lead and copper. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry and voltammetry were used as methods of investigation, the latter method having supplied slightly lower results. In the water layer of 0 … 50 m the cadmium concentrations were 0.03 … 0.05 μg/l and the lead concentrations were 0.1 … 0.2 μg/l, seasonal changes did not have any effect on them. The copper concentrations, on the other hand, were 0.4 … 1.2 μg/l in summer and 0.1 … 0.7 μg/l in autumn. Compared with ocean waters, the lead content is remarkably high. In anoxic deep waters of the Baltic Sea the concentrations of the three metals, especially that of cadmium, are very low (< 0.01 μg/l).  相似文献

The iodide contents in 389 ground-water-tapping plants of the county are compared with the geological character of the aquifer, the carbonate and non-carbonate hardness and the nitrate and chloride contents of the waters. 54% of the plants have I-concentrations of 3 … 7 μg/l. In the air-covered ground-water (hardness quotient<2.8) 2 … 50 μg/l I are found, whereas in the confined ground-water (hardness quotient >2.8) 2 … 50 μg/l I are contained. In general, the I-content increases with the carbonate hardness, a connection with till existing. Therefore, ground-waters of the Miocene have relatively low salt- and I-contents. Geogenic salt influences in the form of NaCl increase the I-contents to 50 … 100 μg/l. Anthropogenic influences in the residential area and due to waste increase the Cl?- and I?-concentrations. By diluting a boggy water there is produced water with a COD-Mn of 3.4 … 10.6 mg/l O2 which is due only to humic substances. The water is mixed with 2.5 … 12.9 mg/l Cl2 at pH-values of 5.2 … 8.5 and incubated for 24 h at 20°C. CHCl3 concentrations of 38 … 480 μg/l were found by the subsequent gas-chromatographic determination. The production of chloroform can be calculated by means of a quadratic polynomial in dependence on COD-Mn, chlorine concentration and pH-value.  相似文献

For the gas-chromatographic determination of thiocyanate in waters two enrichment processes were used: 1) the evaporation of the water sample on the water bath and 2) the adsorptive enrichment on Wofatit EA 60. As the example of the investigation of water samples from the Baltic Sea has shown, the less selective process 1 gave higher results of measurements than the adsorptive method 2. As compared with the GDR's coastal region of the Baltic (0.4 … 5.2 μg/l), the SCN? concentrations (1986) in the western offshore region (0.1 … 2.1 μg/l) are considerably lower. With increasing depth and growing salt content the SCN? concentration in the Baltic decreases. Anthropogenic influences, such as the input of residual products of sewage works effluents, can be inferred from the relatively increased SCN? concentrations in the coastal region.  相似文献

The lake without any outlet (11 ha, 55000 m3, zmax 2,25 m) has a weak thermal stratification with maximum surface temperatures of 32.5 °C. The annual variation of temperature and depth of visibility is unimodal, with the maxima or minima in August. Phytoplankton consists mainly of Cyanophyceae. The primary production determined by the light-dark bottle technique (oxygen method) varies in the annual variation between 0.3… 0.5 g m?2 d?1 C (winter) and 3.4… 4.6 g m?2 d?1 C (summer); as the annual means of 1975 and 1976 there were found 1.9 and 2.4 g m?2 d?1 C, resp., gross production at a utilization of 0.42… 2.85% of the radiation energy. 以城市污染河道——南京仙林大学城九乡河表层沉积物为研究对象,探讨沉积物常用提取剂(1 mol/L KCl、2 mol/L KCl、4 mol/L KCl和0.01 mol/L CaCl2)在不同液土比(5∶1、10∶1、50∶1和100∶1)条件下,对城市污染河道沉积物可提取态氮(NH4+-N、NO3--N)测定的影响.结果表明:KCl的提取效果要优于CaCl2,二者NH4+-N提取量分别为312.17~479.23、177.52~339.31 mg/kg,NO3--N提取量分别为4.49~21.56、4.25~8.53 mg/kg;可提取态氮提取量随液土比增高而增大,其中1 mol/L KCl组,液土比100∶1时NH4+-N和NO3--N提取量分别比液土比5∶1时增加41.97%和187.08%;NH4+-N提取量随提取剂浓度增高而增大,NO3--N随提取剂浓度增高而降低;采用1 mol/L KCl提取剂、液土比100∶1的组合联合提取城市污染河道沉积物中的NH4+-N、NO3--N,提取效果较好.  相似文献

Rain and surface water samples from Southern Germany were investigated from 1991 to 1995 for terbuthylazine and one of its major metabolites, deethylterbuthylazine. The concentrations observed were compared to the concentrations found for atrazine and deethylatrazine in the same water samples. Concentrations ranged from < 0.02 μg/L to 0.7 μg/L for terbuthylazine and from < 0.02 μg/L to 0.6 μg/L for deethylterbuthylazine, compared to concentrations of < 0.02 μg/L to 3 μg/L and < 0.02 μg/L to 0.5 μg/L for atrazine and deethylatrazine, respectively. The ratios of metabolite concentrations to parent compound concentrations were calculated for deethylterbuthylazine to terbuthylazine (DTR) and deethylatrazine to atrazine (DAR). In rain water, DTR of 0.8…3.0 and DAR of 0.3… 1.9 were determined with mean values of 0.9… 1.7 for DTR and 0.6…0.9 for DAR in the different years. The ratios increased during summer periods. The highest ratios were observed in samples from forest stands, showing that degradation of the herbicide has occurred during transport between the source and the sampling site. The DTR in rain water were about 50… 100% higher than the DAR. This indicates a higher degradation rate of terbuthylazine during atmospheric transport. In surface water, DTR of 0.3… 1.2 with mean values of 0.5…0.8 and DAR of 0.2…2.2 with mean values of 0.2… 1.3 were observed. The ratios increased from June to September.  相似文献

There is determined the LC50 for 24 … 96 h of phenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol and pentachlorophenol as sodium salt by static assay at water temperatures of 16, 23 and 36°C. In addition, the combinations of the three substances were tested in the same way. With decreasing temperature, the toxicity of the individual substances decreased by 6.5 … 22%, that of the mixtures by 10 … 87%; with rising temperature, the toxicity increased by 38 … 747% and 75 … 744%, respectively. The safety limits at 23°C lie between 0.3 μg/l for a synergistically acting mixture and 0.9 mg/l for an antagonistically acting one; for the individual substances this range is 3.5 μg/l to 0.5 mg/l.  相似文献

The method is based on the determination of the number of the nonmotile sperms and/or the lethally damaged sperms with the aid of the fluorescent dye primuline. Incubation takes place at a suspension density of 10.000/mm3… 38.000/mm3, at 40°C or 46 °C for 15… 60 min. During the test with sublimate the loss of motility amounts to 55% at 4 mg/l Hg2+, the LC50 is 7.3 mg/l Hg2+. Phenyl-mercuric acetate causes the total loss of motility with 20 mg/l, the LC50 is above 168 mg/l (equivalent to 100 mg/l Hg2+). The LC50 of sodiumpentadecylmonosulphonate and dodecylpyridinchloride are 11.6 and 15.8 mg/l, resp. Filtrates of blooming of cyanophyceae on Baltic, having been digested by repeated freezing and thawing, with 1.5… 6.4 g/l dry matter showed motility losses of 30… 100 % for Nodularia spumigena, whereas no significant effect was produced by a filtrate of Microcystis aeruginosa with 28.2 g/l dry matter as well as water-blooming of Nodularia spumigena from the Small Jasmund Bodden.  相似文献

Glacial buried-valley aquifers serve as primary sources of potable ground water in northeastern Kansas. A long known problem, however, is that a large percentage of well waters in this region exceed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) limits for nitrate (NO3). A detailed study of the hydrogeology and water quality of the buried valleys has confirmed the nitrate problem and led to a recognition that some well waters with low ( 5 mg/l) NO3 concentrations have anomalous ( 0.5 mg/l) ammonium ion (NH+4) levels, with an NH+4 range from <0.1 to 4.8 mg/l. The extractable NH+4 concentrations in related glacial sediments range up to approximately 75 mg/kg, and the amounts generally increase from an average of 2 mg/kg in the topsoil downward to bedrock. Migration of brines from subjacent Permian or Pennsylvanian bedrock into the unconsolidated sediments locally may cause desorption of NH+4 and an increase in its levels in the associated ground waters. Numerous test holes drilled in the study area showed a black scum on the fluid and cuttings, which may be from buried humic materials. Recently measured total organic carbon (TOC) contents of the ground waters confirm a significant level in some areas, with a range from 0.1 to 2.4 mg/l as C. Chlorination of water with dissolved organics may lead to production of halogenated compounds. Two public-water-supply well waters contained total trihalomethane (TTHM) levels close to the maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 100 /μg/l in chlorinated samples quenched after one week. The presence of NH+4 inhibits the formation of THMs, but it also can give rise to odor and taste problems in the finished water. The inhibition of THM formation by NH+4 is achieved by reactions which compete with the organics for combination with chlorine. These reactions make maintaining appropriate chlorine residuals difficult and also may lead to production of undesirable side products. Present efforts to evaluate the regional water-quality problems are focused in Nemaha County, Kansas.  相似文献

As investigations on model solutions and real wastewaters with 30 … 33 g/l phenol and 5 … 10 g/l formaldehyde as well as pH = 2 … 3 have shown, the following technique of sewage purification proves to be optimal: condensation with addition of 7 g/l sulphuric acid at 98 °C, settling of the condensation products formed for 8 h, centrifugation of the supernatant and adsorption on activated carbon or a polymer sorbent (XAD 4). Preference should be given to activated carbon. The residual concentrations amount to 0.1 mg/l for both phenol and formaldehyde. AOX‐formation by the Sonochemical Treatment of Salicylic Acid in Presence of Chloride Ultrasound shows great potential for improving water, wastewater and sludge treatment processes. However, a number of questions exist: for example the influence of suspended solids or salts. In this paper the influence of chloride in view of AOX‐formation should be investigated. As organic model compound salicylic acid (0.05…1 mmol/L) was used. Formation of AOX (adsorbable organically bound halogens) was measured in dependence upon chloride concentrations (1.4…141 mmol/L) and pH 2 and 9. Ultrasound irradiation was performed in glass reactor (500 mL) at 206 kHz and 353 kHz by continuous bubbling argon:oxgen (4:1) at a flow rate of 1 L/min into the solutions. The elimination of salicylic acid and the formation of hydrogen peroxide were not influenced by the presence of chloride (up to 56 mmol/L). The rate of salicylic acid elimination and the formation rate of hydrogen peroxide are at concentrations of mmol/(L min) levels but those of AOX formation of μmol/(L min) levels. The reactions leading to chlorinated by‐products can be seen as minor reaction paths. The yield of AOX depending on frequency, pH and chloride concentration lies between 10 μg/L and 900 μg/L. In acidic medium they were twice as high as in basic medium. Below the ratio chloride : salicylic acid of 2 mol/mol, AOX could not be identified.  相似文献

A gas-sensitive electrode for the determination of ammonia was tested on the basis of potentiometry by means of parts of measuring devices from the CMEA region. Samples of water, cattle slurry, pig slurry and silo seepage water in the range of concentrations of 10?5 … 10?1 mol/1 NH4-N can be measured. Before measurement the samples have to get pH 11 and have to be diluted, if necessary. A maximum period of time of about eight minutes is required for attaining the potential constancy. The relative standard deviation varies between 0.1 and 4.79%; the rate of retrieval was 99.1% on an average. The results of the potentiometric measurements were equivalent to those of the acidimetric measuring method. The practical advantages consist in a low expenditure of material, energy and time.  相似文献

In the batch experiment with daily exchange of medium the acute toxicity of Ag from AgNO3 to Channa punctatus, Lebistes reticulatus and Puntius sophore is determined over 12 to 96 h exposure. In general, the sensitivity of species increases in the order mentioned. The LC50, 96h are 18.89 μg/l Ag for Channa punctatus, 7.55 μg/l Ag for Puntius sophore and 6.44 μg/l for Lebistes reticulatus. For 12 and 48 h exposure the values in the same order of species are: 62 and 30, 44 and 14 as well as 57 and 16 μg/l Ag.  相似文献

The LC50-values of As3+-compounds for Channa punctatus are determined for a 48-h exposure to 19.4 (18.02… 21.3) mg/1 and for a 96-h exposure to 14.3 (13.06… 16.80) mg/1. At a long-time exposure to 7.0 mg/1 As3+, during the first seven days there does not occur any change of growth, then the growth in length and the increase in weight decreased by 6.6 and 11.7%, respectively, till the 31st day. At the same time, the RNA content of the muscle decreased by 11.5% to 966.7 μg/g fresh weight and the protein content decreased by 12.5 % to 95.39 mg/g fresh weight.  相似文献

In a batch experiment with activated sludge from a large-scale plant the hydrolytical and biochemical degradation of dimethylformamide (DMF) and its reaction product dimethylamine (DMA) and the conversion connected with this under aerobic and anaerobic conditions is investigated. Parallel to the hydrolysis of DMF the biochemical degradation of DMA occurs. The extensive conversion of these substrates is followed by the nitrification of the ammoniumions formed, and under subsequent anaerobic conditions with methanol as the carbon source also denitrification can be achieved. If the oxygen supply of the activated sludge is insufficient, however, also DMA can be used as a carbon source for denitrification, ammonium-ions being released from DMA in addition. In the batch experiment the elimination rates referred to nitrogen were 7 … 14 mg/g · h for DMF, 0.8 … 1.7 mg/g · h for DMA, 0.3 … 0.6 mg/g · h for NH and 0.4 to 1.3 mg/g · h for nitrate in the presence of methanol. DMF and DMA are obviously not suitable as the only carbon source for denitrification.  相似文献

This paper reports changes in dissolved organic carbon concentration β(DOC) and the relation between UV-active and non-UV-active components determined for Elbe river water and river bank infiltrate in the Torgau river basin between 1992 and 1994. Using an ultrafiltration method, the fractionation of the DOC content was obtained for the fractions > 10 000 g/mol, 1 000…10 000 g/mol, and < 1 000 g/mol. The spectral absorption coefficient at 254 nm a254 of the molecular-weight fractions was also measured. The mean total DOC concentration of Elbe river water decreased from 6.0 mg/L to below 3.9 mg/L along two investigated flowpaths. Two thirds of the decrease occurred within the first few metres of the river bed and one third along the 350 m length of the groundwater flowpaths. The a254 values showed a significant decrease from 14.8 1/m in Elbe river water to 7.8 1/m in the aquifer. Along a flowpath, the proportion of low-molecular weight fraction of DOC increased, the proportion of high-molecular weight fraction decreased, and the proportion of the 1 000…10 000 g/mol molecular-weight fraction remained relatively stable. The Elbe river water contained the main portion of UV-active compounds in the fraction 1 000…10 000 g/mol, and this was also the case for samples of river infiltrate. For the high-molecular weight fraction, mainly non-UV-active compounds were attenuated in the river bed sediment.  相似文献

The Gru?a Reservoir (located at 238…269 m a. s. l., volume 64.6 · 106 m3, surface 934 ha, drainage area 318 km2, max. depth 31 m, mean theoretical retention time 22 months) was investigated during the years 1996 to 2001. The obtained values of trophic state parameters (9…200 μg L?1 total phosphorus, 3…99 μg L?1 chlorophyll‐a, and 0.5…2 m transparency) indicate that water of the Gru?a Reservoir is eutrophic according to three types of classification: Carlson, OECD, and Jones and Lee. It was noticed that values of average biomass abundance are large in the Gru?a Reservoir, and they could indicate a richer trophic state. When these indices are cited in connection with parameters of the trophic state, it is apparent that the Gru?a Reservoir can be classified as a eutrophic water on the basis of total phosphorus content of chlorophyll‐a and hypertrophic water with respect to transparency.  相似文献

Ten reaction vessels containing 1 m3 were used as the experimental arrangement. They were filled with coarse sand or fine gravel and installed 60 cm below the floor. The pore volume (water saturation) was 227… 260 l. Anaerobic conditions were established by the addition of 6 g glucose at storage. The reactors were given tap water with 50 and 200 mg/l NO from KNO3 in such a way that a volumetric rate of flow of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8 l/d was created. The volumetric rates of flow corresponded to the natural recharge of groundwater, the recharge of groundwater under the conditions of irrigation and the conditions of an intensive wastewater ground treatment. In the effluent from the reaction vessels the nitrate concentration was determined every month. It was stationary from the 7th to the 55th month after the beginning of the experiment. The experiments are evaluated by means of a model which takes into account the diffusion, convection and kinetics of the nitrate degradation according to Michaelis-Menten. A simple method for solving homogeneous non-linear differential equations of the second order is proposed. The experimental and model results show a good agreement and prove the very slow nitrate degradation in the groundwater with kM = 210 mg/l, vmax = 1.5 mg/l · d or k1 = 0.005 d?1.  相似文献
