We describe the design of a suspended low- and medium-resolution spectrograph (R ≈ 300–1300) designed and made at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the 1.6-m AZT-33IK telescope of Sayan Observatory of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. We report the results of laboratory measurements of the parameters of the instrument and tests performed on the 1-m Zeiss-1000 telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences. We measured the total quantum efficiency of the “spectrograph + telescope + detector” system on AZT-33IK telescope, which at its maximum reaches 56%. Such a hight transparency of the spectrograph allows it to be used with the 1.6-m telescope to determine the types and redshifts of objects with integrated magnitudes mAB ≈ 20–21, and this result was confirmed by actual observations.  相似文献

We present the results of spectroscopic redshift measurements for the galaxy clusters from the first all-sky Planck catalogue that have been mostly identified based on the optical observations performed previously by our team (Planck Collaboration 2015a). Data on 13 galaxy clusters at redshifts from z ≈ 0.2 to z ≈ 0.8, including the improved identification and redshift measurement for the cluster PSZ1 G141.73+14.22 at z = 0.828, are provided. We have performed the measurements based on data from the Russian–Turkish 1.5-m telescope (RTT-150), the 2.2-m Calar Alto Observatory telescope, and the 6-m SAO RAS telescope (Bolshoy Teleskop Azimutalnyi, BTA).  相似文献

We describe a device (adapter) for off-axis guiding and photometric calibration of wide-angle spectrographs operating in the prime focus of the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences. To compensate coma in off-axis star images an achromatic lens corrector is used, which ensures maintaining image quality (FWHM) at a level of about 1″ within 15′ from the optical axis. The device has two 54″-diameter movable guiding fields, which can move in 10′ × 4.′5 rectangular areas. The device can perform automatic search for guiding stars, use them to control the variations of atmospheric transmittance, and focus the telescope during exposure. The limiting magnitude of potential guiding stars is m R ~ 17m. The calibration path whose optical arrangement meets the telecentrism condition allows the spectrograph to be illuminated both by a source of line spectrum (a He–Ne–Ar filled lamp) and by a source of continuum spectrum. The latter is usually represented either by a halogen lamp or a set of light-emitting diodes, which provide illumination of approximately uniform intensity over the wavelength interval from 350 to 900 nm. The adapter is used for observations with SCORPIO-2 multimode focal reducer.  相似文献

We propose a form of a lens corrector at the prime focus of a hyperboloidal mirror that provides a flat field of view up to 3° in diameter at image quality D80<0.8 arcsec in integrated (0.32–1.1 µm) light. The corrector consists of five lenses made of fused silica. All lens surfaces are spherical in shape, so the system is capable of achieving better images, if necessary, by aspherizing the surfaces. The optical system of the corrector is stable in the sense that its principal features are retained when optimized after significant perturbations of its parameters. As an example, we calculated three versions of the corrector for the Blanco 4-m telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory with \(2\mathop .\limits^ \circ 12\), \(2\mathop .\limits^ \circ 4\) and \(3\mathop .\limits^ \circ 0\) fields of view.  相似文献

We present the results of optical identifications and spectroscopic redshift measurements for galaxy clusters from the second Planck catalogue of Sunyaev–Zeldovich sources (PSZ2) located at high redshifts, z ≈ 0.7?0.9. We used the data of optical observations with the Russian–Turkish 1.5-mtelescope (RTT-150), the Sayan Observatory 1.6-m telescope, the Calar Alto 3.5-m telescope, and the 6-m SAO RAS telescope (BTA). The spectroscopic redshift measurements were obtained for seven galaxy clusters, including one cluster, PSZ2 G126.57+51.61, from the cosmological sample of the PSZ2 catalogue. In the central regions of two clusters, PSZ2 G069.39+68.05 and PSZ2 G087.39?34.58, we detected arcs of strong gravitational lensing of background galaxies, one of which is at redshift z = 4.262. The data presented below roughly double the number of known galaxy clusters in the second Planck catalogue of Sunyaev–Zeldovich sources at high redshifts, z ≈ 0.8.  相似文献

We consider a method for obtaining information on polarization of astronomical objects radiation at diffraction limited resolution—differential speckle polarimetry. As an observable we propose to use averaged cross spectrum of two short-exposure images corresponding to orthogonal polarizations, normalized by averaged power spectrum of one of images. Information on polarization can be extracted if object under study can be described by model with several parameters. We consider two examples: pointlike source whose photocenter position depends on orientation of passing polarization and exozodiacal dust disc around a star. In first case the difference between photocenter positions can be measured with precision of 8 µas for 2.5-m telescope and 1.2 µas for 6-m telescope for object V = 13 m . For second example method allows detection of discs around central star of V = 1 m with fractional luminosities of 1.8 × 10?5 and 5.6 × 10?6 for 2.5- and 6-m telescope, respectively.  相似文献

In 2013–2015 the Laboratory of spectroscopy and photometry of extragalactic objects (LS-PEO) of the Special Astrophysical Observatory together with Armenian specialists upgraded the 1-m Schmidt telescope of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. We completely redesigned the control system of the telescope: we replaced the actuating mechanisms, developed telescope control software, and made the guiding system. We reworked and prepared a 4k × 4k Apogee (USA) liquid-cooled CCD with RON ~ 11.1 e?, a pixel size of 0.″868, and field of view of about 1□°, and in October 2015 mounted it in the focus of the telescope. The detector is equipped with a turret bearing 20 intermediate-band filters (FWHM = 250 Å) uniformly covering the 4000–9000 Å wavelength range, five broadband filters (u, g, r, i, z SDSS), and three narrow-band filters (5000 Å, 6560 Å and 6760 Å, FWHM = 100 Å). During the first year of test operation of the 1-m telescope we performed pilot observations within the framework of three programs: search for young stellar objects, AGNevolution, and stellar composition of galaxy disks. We confirmed the possibility of efficiently selecting of young objects using observations performed in narrow-band Hα and [SII] filters and the intermediate-band 7500 Å filter. Three-hours long exposures with SDSS g-, r-, and i-band filters allow us to reach the surface brightness level of 28m/□″ when investigating the stellar content of galaxy disks for a sample of nine galaxies. We used observations performed with the 1-m telescope in five broadband (SDSS u, g, r, i, and z) and 15 intermediate-band filters (4000–7500 Å) to construct a sample of quasar candidates with 0.5 < z < 5 (330 objects) in about one-sq. degree SA68 field complete down to RAB = 23m. Spectroscopic observations of 29 objects (19.m5 < R < 22m) carried out at the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences confirmed the quasar nature of 28 objects.  相似文献

We report the physical and orbital parameters of the visible component of the spectroscopic binary HD37737 (m V = 8.03). The observations were performed with the 1.2-m telescope of the Kourovka Astronomical Observatory of the Ural Federal University in 2012 and the 6-m BTA telescope of the SAO RAS in 2007 and 2009. Radial velocities were measured separately from each spectral line of the list by the cross-correlation method with a synthetic spectrum. The latter was calculated using the grids of non-LTE model atmospheres with solar chemical compositions. A significant difference in the epochs of observations (2005–2012) allowed to refine the orbital period of the star (7 · d 84705) and the orbital elements of the binary system. We obtained an estimate of the mass function f(m) = 0.23 ± 0.02M . The best agreement between the synthetic and observed spectra is achieved at T eff = 30 000 K and log g = 3.50 according to the observations on both instruments. The obtained parameters correspond to a star of spectral type O9.5 III, with mass estimated at 26 ± 2M . The minimum mass estimate of the secondary component of the binary is 6.2 ± 0.5M . We have discovered a fact that the velocities, obtained from different spectral lines, differ, which is typical for giant stars. Engaging additional spectra, obtained in 2005 with the 2.1-m KPNO telescope, we investigated the effect of this fact on the estimate of the speed of the system’s center of mass. The difference in the velocities of various lines is approximately the same in the spectra, obtained at all the three instruments. The obtained ratios suggest that the deeper layers of the atmosphere of the star are moving with a greater velocity than the outer layers. Depending on the line, the estimate of the heliocentric velocity of the binary’s center of mass varies in the range from ?11 to 1 km/s.  相似文献

We analyze the structure of the cluster of galaxies Abell 1775 (α = 13 h 42 m , δ = +26°22′, cz ≈ 21000 km/s), which exhibits a bimodal distribution of radial velocities of the containing galaxies. The difference of the subcluster radial velocities is ΔV ≈ 2900 km/s. We use the results of our photometric observations made with the 1-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the spectroscopic and photometric data from the SDSS DR6 catalog to determine independent distances to the subclusters via three different methods: the Kormendy relation, photometric plane, and fundamental plane. We find that the A1775 cluster consists of two independent clusters, A1775A (cz = 19664 km/s) and A1775B (cz = 22576 km/s), each located at its own Hubble distance and having small peculiar velocities. Given the velocity dispersions of 324 km/s and 581 km/s and the dynamic masses within the R 200 radius equal to 0.6 × 1014 and 3.3 × 1014 M , the A1775A and A1775B clusters have the K-band luminosity-to-mass ratios of 29 and 61, respectively. A radio galaxy with an extended tail belongs to the A1775B cluster.  相似文献

A sample of cataclysmic variables (CVs) detected among the X-ray sources of the 400 square degree (400d) survey performed based on ROSAT pointings is presented. A technique for selecting CVs among the X-ray sources using additional optical and infrared data, based on Sloan Digital Sky Survey andWISE data, is described. We present the optical observations of the selected objects carried out mainly with the Russian–Turkish 1.5-m telescope (RTT-150) and the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (BTA). Some observations have also been performed with the 1.6-m AZT-33IK telescope of the Institute of Solar–Terrestrial Physics, the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Eight CVs, four of which were detected in our work, have been selected by now. Based on this sample, we have obtained preliminary constraints on the X-ray luminosity function of CVs in the solar neighborhood in the range of low luminosities, L X ~ 1029–1030 erg s?1 (0.5–2 keV). The logarithmic slope of the CV luminosity function in this luminosity range is shown to become gentler than that at L X > 1031 erg s?1. It follows from our estimates of the CV luminosity function that several thousand CVs will be detected in the SRG all-sky survey at high Galactic latitudes, which will allow much more accurate measurements of their X-ray luminosity function to be obtained.  相似文献

We describe the scheme and design features of the new IFU unit (Integral Field Unit) meant to perform integral-field spectroscopy as a part of SCORPIO-2 focal reducer, which is mounted in the prime focus of the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophyscial Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The design of the unit is based on the principle of the formation of array spectra using a lens raster combined with optical fibers. The unit uses a rectangular raster consisting of 22×22 square 2-mm diameter lenses. The image of the object is transferred by an optical system with a 23× magnification from the focal plane of the telescope to the plane of the lens raster. The image scale is —0.″75/lens and the field of view of the instrument has the size of 16.″5 × 16.—52. The raster also contains two extra 2 × 7 lens arrays to acquire the night-sky spectra whose images are offset by ±3′from the center. Optical fibers are used to transform micropupil images into two pseudoslits located at the IFU collimator entrance. When operating in the IFU mode a set of volume phase holographic gratings (VPHG) provides a spectral range of 4600–7300 Å and a resolution λ/δλ of 1040 to 2800. The quantum efficiency of SCORPIO-2 field spectroscopy is 6–13% depending on the grating employed. We describe the technique of data acquisition and reduction using IFU unit and report the results of test observations of the Seyfert galaxyMrk 78 performed on the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences.  相似文献

Based on data from the MIT-GB-VLA 4850-MHz survey, we investigate the radio structure of RC J1148+0455 with a steep radio spectrum (α=?1.04) from the COLD catalog. The radio source consists of two components, each having a complex structure. We analyze an optical identification of the source by using 6-m telescope images. The centroid of the radio source falls on a group of eight galaxies at a 24 m level in R.  相似文献

We present the results of polarimetric and photometric observations of dynamically new comet C/2002 T7 (LINEAR) at phase angles from 6° to 26°. During the observations, the comet was at a distance of 2.7–1.3 AU from the Sun and 1.7–2.0 AU from the Earth. The aperture polarimetry was made with the 2.6-m Shain telescope and the 1.25-m AZT-11 telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory and with the 0.7-m telescope of the Astronomical Institute of the Kharkiv National University during the period from November 21, 2003, to February 21, 2004. The wideband UBVRI and WRC (λ7228/1142 Å) filters and the narrowband GC (λ5260/56 Å) filter were used. The photometric observations of the comet were carried out on February 21, 2004, with narrowband filters isolated the BC (λ4845/65 Å) and RC (λ6840/90 Å) continuum and the C2 emission (λ5140/90 Å). The phase-angle dependence of linear polarization of the comet has been obtained, and its parameters, such as the minimal polarization P min = ?1.63%, the phase angle of the minimal polarization αmin = 10.6°, the inversion angle αinv = 22.7°, and the slope of the phase curve at the inversion angle h = 0.24% per degree, were found. From the photometric observations, the following quantities have been obtained: the column density of molecules C2 in the line of sight logN (C2) = ?9.15 mol/cm2 and their production rate log Q (C2) = 27.11 mol/s, the spectral gradient of reflectivity for the dust S′(BC, RC) ≈ 3%/1000 Å, and the dust production parameter Afρ equal to 371 and 273 cm for the blue and red continuum ranges, respectively. According to these results, the physical parameters of comet C/2002 T7 are close to the average characteristics of typical dusty comets.  相似文献

We test for reliability any signatures of field galaxies clustering in the GRB021004 line of sight. The first signature is the GRB021004 field photometric redshifts distribution based on the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences observations with a peak near z ~ 0.56 estimated from multicolor photometry in the GRB direction. The second signature is the Mg II λλ2796, 2803 Å absorption doublet at z ≈ 0.56 in VLT/UVES spectra obtained for the GRB021004 afterglow. The third signature is the galaxy clustering in a larger (of about 3° × 3°) area around GRB021004 with an effective peak near z ~ 0.56 for both the spectral and photometric redshifts from a few catalogs of clusters based on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS) as a part of SDSS-III. From catalog data the size of the whole inhomogeneity in distribution of the galaxy cluster with the peak near z ≈ 0.56 was also estimated as about 6°–8° or 140–190 Mpc. A possibility of inhomogeneity (a galaxy cluster) near the GRB021004 direction can be also confirmed by an inhomogeneity in cosmic microwave background related with the Sunyaev–Zeldovich effect.  相似文献

Knowledge of the Solar Diameter Imager and Surface Mapper (SODISM) plate scale is a fundamental parameter for obtaining the solar radius. We have determined the plate scale of the telescope on the ground and in flight onboard the Picard spacecraft. The results show significant differences; the main reason is that the conditions of observation are not the same. In addition, the space environment has an impact on the performance of a metrology instrument. Therefore, calibration in space and under the same conditions of observation is crucial. The transit of Venus allowed us to determine the plate scale of the SODISM telescope and hence the absolute value of the solar radius. The transit was observed from space by the Picard spacecraft on 5?–?6 June 2012. We exploited the data recorded by SODISM to determine the plate scale of the instrument, which depends on the characteristics of optical elements (mirrors, filters, or front window). The mean plate scale at 607.1 nm is found to be 1.0643 arcseconds?pixel?1 with 3×10?4 RMS. The solar radius at 607.1 nm from 1 AU is found to be equal to 959.86 arcseconds.  相似文献

Based on the high spectral resolution monitoring conducted at the 6-m BTA telescope, we study the optical spectrum of the high-latitude variable V534 Lyr. Heliocentric radial velocities Vr corresponding to the positions of all metal absorption components, as well as the Na I D and Hα lines were measured during all the observational sets. The analysis of the velocity field examining the lines of various nature revealed a low-amplitude variability of Vr based on the lines with a high excitation potential, which are formed in deep layers of the stellar atmosphere, and allowed to estimate the systemic velocity of Vsys ≈ ?125 kms?1 (Vlsr ≈ ?105 kms?1). The distance estimate of d ≈ 6 kpc for the star leads to its absolute magnitude of \(M_V \approx - 5_ \cdot ^m 3\), what corresponds to the spectral classification. The previously undetected spectral phenomenon was revealed for this star: at certain times a splitting of the profiles of low-excited absorptions is observed, reaching ΔVr = 20–50 kms?1. A combination of the parameters: reduced metallicity [Met/H] = ?0.28, high nitrogen abundance [N/Fe] = +1.10, large spatial velocity, high luminosity, a strong variability of the emission-absorption profiles of HI lines, splitting of metal absorptions at different times of observations and the variability of the velocity field in the atmosphere allow to classify V534 Lyr as a pulsating star in the thick disk of our Galaxy.  相似文献

The 64-m radio telescope equipped with an S-2 recording system in the town of Kalyazin was involved in an international fine-structure survey of quasars and active galactic nuclei carried out with a ground-based—space radio interferometer. The HALCA Japanese satellite in an orbit with an altitude of up to 24 000 km with an 8-m antenna was used as a space element of the interferometer. A radio image of the inner region of the CSS-type quasar 3C 147 was obtained with an angular resolution of ~0.3 mas at 6 cm. The image exhibits a core and several jet components mostly arranged in the main jet direction, but one of the components moves across the jet. No evidence was found for the superluminal separation of jet components. The estimated brightness temperature,~1011 K, is consistent with the theoretical limit imposed by synchro-Compton radiation.  相似文献

Multicolor photometric observations of the optical afterglow from GRB 060526 with the Russian-Turkish 1.5-m RTT-150 telescope (Mount Bakyrlytepe, Turkey) are presented. The afterglow light curve was measured in detail starting from about 5 h after the GRB and over five ensuing nights. In addition, upper limits were obtained on the rapid variability of the afterglow on the first night of observations and the history of afterglow color variations was measured in detail. In the time interval from 6 to 16 h after the burst, the flux gradually decreased approximately as a power law with a slope of ?1.14 ± 0.02. Subsequently, variability was observed on a time scale δt < t and the afterglow began to decay much faster. The afterglow color was approximately constant (V?R ≈ 0.5) throughout the observations, despite the flux variability. Variability time scales up to δt/t ≈ 0.0055 were observed at ΔF ν/F ν ≈ 0.3, which violates many constraints on the variability of the observed emission from an ultrarelativistic jet obtained by Ioka et al. (2005). We suggest explaining this variability by the fact that the shell motion is no longer ultrarelativistic at this time.  相似文献
