A three-dimensional formulation based on Green's functions of cylindrical loads in layered semi-infinite media is employed to investigate the dynamic behaviour of piles in homogeneous and non-homogeneous half spaces. The pile-soil-pile interaction taking place in pile groups is incorporated in the model. The results presented in this paper include the dynamic stiffnesses and dampings of single piles as well as those of representative 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 square pile groups in the soil media considered in this study. In addition, the distribution of forces applied on the pile cap among the individual piles in a group is investigated.  相似文献

A simplified three-step procedure is proposed for estimating the dynamic interaction between two vertical piles, subjected either to lateral pile-head loading or to vertically-propagating seismic S-waves. The starting point is the determination of the deflection profile of a solitary pile using any of the established methods available. Physically-motivated approximations are then introduced for the wave field radiating from an oscillating pile and for the effect of this field on an adjacent pile. The procedure is applied in this paper to a flexible pile embedded in a homogeneous stratum. To obtain analytical closed-form results for both pile-head and seismic-type loading pile-soil and soil-pile interaction are accounted for through a single dynamic Winkler model, with realistic frequency-dependent ‘springs’ and ‘dashpots’. Final- and intermediate-step results of the procedure compare favourably with those obtained using rigorous formulations for several pile group configurations. It is shown that, for a homogeneous stratum, pile-to-pile interaction effects are far more significant under head loading than under seismic excitation.  相似文献

The effect of soil inhomogeneity on dynamic stiffness and kinematic response of single flexural elastic piles to vertically-propagating seismic SH waves is explored. A generalized parabolic function is employed to describe the variable shear wave propagation velocity in the inhomogeneous stratum. A layered soil with piece-wise homogeneous properties is introduced to approximate the continuous inhomogeneity in the realm of a Beam-on-Dynamic-Winkler-Foundation model. The problem is treated numerically by means of a layer transfer-matrix (Haskell–Thompson) formulation, and validated using available theoretical solutions and finite-element analyses. The role of salient model parameters such as pile-head fixity conditions, pile-to-soil stiffness ratio, surface-to-base shear wave velocity ratio and rate of inhomogeneity is elucidated. A new normalization scheme for inertial and kinematic response of such systems is presented based on an average Winkler wavenumber. With reference to long piles in moderately inhomogeneous soils, results indicate that: (a) kinematic pile response is essentially governed by a single dimensionless frequency parameter accounting for pile-to-soil stiffness ratio, pile slenderness and soil inhomogeneity and (b) definition of a characteristic pile wavelength allows an approximate estimation of pile elastodynamic response for preliminary design or analysis. Issues related to domain discretization and Winkler moduli are discussed.  相似文献

A simple analytical solution is presented to calculate the pile-soil-pile interaction and eventually the dynamic response of pile groups when excited by the passage of Rayleigh waves and obliquely incident SH-waves. A dynamic Winkler model, with realistic frequency-dependent ‘springs’ and ‘dashpots’ in conjunction with physically motivated approximations is utilized to compute the wave field radiating from an oscillating pile and the effect of this field on an adjacent pile. The coupled rocking motion of the pile group resulting from Rayleigh waves and the torsional motion of the pile group resulting from SH-waves is accurately predicted by a simple mathematical expression. The results of the presented method can be obtained with ‘hand calculations’ and are in excellent agreement with results from ‘rigorous’ solutions based on integral equation formulations. It is found that the group response is primarily affected from the phase difference of the input seismic motion at the location of each pile (wave-passage effect). Pile-soil-pile interaction has insignificant effect and can be neglected.  相似文献

Horizontal impedance functions of inclined single piles are measured experimentally for model soil-pile systems with both the effects of local soil nonlinearity and resonant characteristics. Two practical pile inclinations of 5° and 10° in addition to a vertical pile embedded in cohesionless soil and subjected to lateral harmonic pile head loadings for a wide range of frequencies are considered. Results obtained with low-to-high amplitude of lateral loadings on model soil-pile systems encased in a laminar shear box show that the local nonlinearities have a profound impact on the horizontal impedance functions of piles.Horizontal impedance functions of inclined piles are found to be smaller than the vertical pile and the values decrease as the angle of pile inclination increases.Distinct values of horizontal impedance functions are obtained for the ’positive’ and ’negative’ cycles of harmonic loadings, leading to asymmetric force-displacement relationships for the inclined piles.Validation of these experimental results is carried out through three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analyses, and the results from the numerical models are in good agreement with the experimental data.Sensitivity analyses conducted on the numerical models suggest that the consideration of local nonlinearity at the vicinity of the soil-pile interface influence the response of the soil-pile systems.  相似文献

The influence of inclined piles on the dynamic response of deep foundations and superstructures is still not well understood and needs further research. For this reason, impedance functions of deep foundations with inclined piles, obtained numerically from a boundary element–finite element coupling model, are provided in this paper. More precisely, vertical, horizontal, rocking and horizontal–rocking crossed dynamic stiffness and damping functions of single inclined piles and 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 pile groups with battered elements are presented in a set of plots. The soil is assumed to be a homogeneous viscoelastic isotropic half‐space and the piles are modeled as elastic compressible Euler–Bernoulli beams. The results for different pile group configurations, pile–soil stiffness ratios and rake angles are presented. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Nonlinear lateral interaction in pile dynamics   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
A model for pile lateral response to transient dynamic loading and to harmonic loading is presented allowing for nonlinear soil behaviour, discontinuity conditions at the pile-soil interface and energy dissipation through different types of damping. The approach is used to establish equivalent linear stiffness and damping parameters of single piles as well as dynamic interaction factors for approximate nonlinear analysis of pile groups. The applicability of these parameters to the pile-group analysis was examined, and a reasonable agreement with the direct analysis was found. The superposition technique may be used to analyze the response of small pile groups. Also, the dynamic stiffness of pile groups is greatly affected by both the nonlinear behavior of the soil and the slippage and gapping between the pile and soil. For a basic range of soil and pile parameters, equivalent linear stiffness and damping parameters of single piles and interaction factors for approximate nonlinear analysis are provided.  相似文献

The paper presents a numerical model for the dynamic analysis of pile groups with inclined piles in horizontally layered soil deposits. Piles are modelled with Euler–Bernoulli beams, while the soil is supposed to be constituted by independent infinite viscoelastic horizontal layers. The pile–soil–pile interaction as well as the hysteretic and geometric damping is taken into account by means of two‐dimensional elastodynamic Green's functions. Piles cap is considered by introducing a rigid constraint; the condensation of the problem permits a consistent derivation of both the dynamic impedance matrix of the soil–foundation system and the foundation input motion. These quantities are those used to perform inertial soil–structure interaction analyses in the framework of the substructure approach. Furthermore, the model allows evaluating the kinematic stress resultants in piles resulting from waves propagating in the soil deposit, taking into account the pile–soil–pile interactions. The model validation is carried out by performing accuracy analyses and comparing results in terms of dynamic impedance functions, kinematic response parameters and pile stress resultants, with those furnished by 3D refined finite element models. To this purpose, classical elastodynamic solutions are adopted to define the soil–pile interaction problem. The model results in low computational demands without significant loss of precision, compared with more rigorous approaches or refined finite element models. A simple analytical solution is presented to calculate the single-pile response when excited by the passage of Rayleigh seismic waves. Closed-form expressions for the horizontal and vertical displacement distributions are presented for piles with finite or infinite length. The analytical results for both free-head and fixed-head piles are obtained through a dynamic Winkler model, with realistic frequency-dependent ‘springs’ and ‘dashpots’. The results of the presented method are in excellent agreement with results of a rigorous solution. It is shown that in vertical motion, the differences between pile and soil displacements are far more significant than in horizontal motion, and therefore, further work is needed to investigate the importance of pile-soil-pile interaction (group effects), because of the vertical component of Rayleigh seismic waves.  相似文献

The paper presents a numerical model for the analysis of the soil–structure kinematic interaction of single piles and pile groups embedded in layered soil deposits during seismic actions. A finite element model is considered for the pile group and the soil is assumed to be a Winkler‐type medium. The pile–soil–pile interaction and the radiation problem are accounted for by means of elastodynamic Green's functions. Condensation of the problem permits a consistent and straightforward derivation of both the impedance functions and the foundation input motion, which are necessary to perform the inertial soil–structure interaction analyses. The model proposed allows calculating the internal forces induced by soil–pile and pile‐to‐pile interactions. Comparisons with data available in literature are made to study the convergence and validate the model. An application to a realistic pile foundation is given to demonstrate the potential of the model to catch the dynamic behaviour of the soil–foundation system and the stress resultants in each pile. A new model named double-shear model based on Pasternak foundation and Timoshenko beam theory is developed to evaluate the effect of a forced harmonic vibration pile to its adjacent pile in multilayered soil medium. The double-shear model takes into account the shear deformation and the rotational inertia of piles as well as the shear deformation of soil. The piles are simulated as Timoshenko beams, which are embedded in a layered Pasternak foundation. The differential equation of transverse vibration for a pile is solved by the initial parameter method. The dynamic interaction factors for the layered soil medium are obtained by the transfer matrix method. The formulation and the implementation have been verified by means of several examples. The individual shear effects of soil and piles on the interaction factors are evaluated through a parametric study. Compared to Winkler model with Euler beam, the present model gives much better results for the dynamic interaction of piles embedded in stiff soil with small slenderness ratios. Finally, the effect of a forced long pile to a short pile embedded in multilayered soil medium is studied in detail.  相似文献

Fixed offshore platforms supported by pile foundations are required to resist dynamic lateral loading due to wave forces. The response of a jacket offshore tower is affected by the flexibility and nonlinear behaviour of the supporting piles. For offshore towers supported by clusters of piles, the response to environmental loads is strongly affected by the pile–soil–pile interaction. In the present study, the response of fixed offshore platforms supported by clusters of piles is investigated. The soil resistance to the pile movement is modelled using dynamic py curves and tz curves to account for soil nonlinearity and energy dissipation through radiation damping. The load transfer curves for a single pile have been modified to account for the group effect. The wave forces on the tower members and the tower response are calculated in the time domain using a finite element package (ASAS). Several parameters affecting the dynamic characteristics of the platform and the platform response have been investigated.  相似文献

A number of solutions and computer programs are already available to determine the dynamic stiffness of complete pile foundations, assuming linear elastic soil behavior and perfect bonding between the piles and the surrounding soil. These are assumptions that would be generally valid for properly designed machine foundations where very small strains should be expected. A number of approximate formulations have also been developed. Among these the most commonly used one is that proposed by Poulos (1971) [12] for the static case, computing interaction coefficients between the heads of two piles considered by themselves, then forming a matrix of these coefficients to obtain the interaction between the heads of all the piles in the group. Additional approximations have been suggested, particularly for the computation of the interaction coefficients, using closed form expressions. In this paper, approximate expressions that can be used for preliminary estimates, at the very early stages of the design, without the need of computers, are presented. They are intended for pile groups with pile spacing of the order of 3 diameters, typical relations between the modulus of elasticity of the piles and that of the soil between 100 and 1000, and very small amplitude vibrations.  相似文献

Six artificial neural network (ANN) models are developed to predict various response parameters of kinematic soil pile interaction. These responses include (1) kinematic response factors for free and fixed head piles in homogenous soil layer to derive foundation input motion (2) normalized bending moment at fixed head of pile in homogenous soil layer (3) normalized kinematic pile moment at the interface of two soil layers of sharply different soil stiffnesses. These ANN models represent simple solutions that can be implemented in a simple calculator capable of matrix operation and bypass the site response analysis and the complex wave diffraction analysis. The data required for ANN training is generated using beam on dynamic Winkler formulation (BDWF). Fifty percent of the data is used to train the ANN models while remaining 50% is used to test the ANN models. The trained ANN models show good agreement with BDWF results.  相似文献

A simple analytical solution is developed for computing the dynamic interaction tensor for floating pile groups with batter piles. For this purpose, the governing differential equations are derived for an unloaded batter floating pile closely spaced to another loaded pile with the same properties. The reaction of soil against pile deformation is modeled by the springs and dashpots along the length of the pile. The soil is assumed linear viscous elastic and the pile behavior is linear elastic. The closed form solutions of governing equations are obtained using appropriate boundary conditions. The results are verified and compared with rigorous and approximate analytical solutions for vertical piles. The proposed method can be readily applied by engineers in the design of pile groups with batter piles.  相似文献

The seismic response of inhomogeneous soil deposits is explored analytically by means of one-dimensional viscoelastic wave propagation theory. The problem under investigation comprises of a continuously inhomogeneous stratum over a homogeneous layer of higher stiffness, with the excitation defined in terms of vertically propagating harmonic S waves imposed at the base of the system. A generalized parabolic function is employed to describe the variable shear wave propagation velocity in the inhomogeneous layer. The problem is treated analytically leading to an exact solution of the Bessel type for the natural frequencies, mode shapes and base-to-surface response transfer function. The model is validated using available theoretical solutions and finite-element analyses. Results are presented in the form of normalized graphs demonstrating the effect of salient model parameters such as layer thickness, impedance contrast between surface and base layer, rate of inhomogeneity and hysteretic damping ratio. Equivalent homogeneous soil approximations are examined. The effect of vanishing shear wave propagation velocity near soil surface on shear strains and displacements is explored by asymptotic analyses.  相似文献

Under the action of Rayleigh waves, pile head is easy to rotate with a concrete pile cap, and pure fixed-head condition is rarely achieved, which is a common phenomenon for it usually occurs on the precast piles with insufficient anchorage. In addition, the propagation characteristics of Rayleigh wave have been changed significantly due to the existence of capillary pressure and the coupling between phases in unsaturated soil, which significantly affects the pile-soil interaction. In order to study the above problems, a coupled vibration model of unsaturated soil–pile system subjected to Rayleigh waves is established on the basis that the pile cap is equivalent to a rigid mass block. Meanwhile, the soil constitution is simplified to linear-elastic and small deformations are assumed to occur during the vibration phase of soil–pile system. Then, the horizontal dynamic response of a homogeneous free-field unsaturated soil caused by propagating Rayleigh waves is obtained by using operator decomposition theory and variable separation method. The dynamic equilibrium equation of a pile is established by using the dynamic Winkler model and the Timoshenko beam theory, and the analytical solutions of the horizontal displacement, rotation angle, bending moment and shear force of pile body are derived according to the boundary conditions of flexible constraint of pile top. Based on the present solutions, the rationality of the proposed model is verified by comparing with the previous research results. Through parametric study, the influence of rotational stiffness and yield bending moment of pile top on the horizontal dynamic characteristics of Rayleigh waves induced pile is investigated in detailed. The analysis results can be utilized for the seismic design of pile foundation under Rayleigh waves.  相似文献
