The spectroradiometric retrieved reflectance of a local crop, namely, beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), is directly compared to the reflectance of Landsat 5TM and 7ETM+ atmospherically corrected and uncorrected satellite images. Also, vegetation indices from the same satellite images—atmospherically corrected and uncorrected—are compared with the corresponding vegetation indices produced from field measurements using a spectroradiometer. Vegetation Indices are vital in the estimation of crop evapotransiration under standard conditions (ETc) because they are used in stochastic or empirical models for describing crop canopy parameters such as the Leaf Area Index (LAI) or crop height. ETc is finally determined using the FAO Penman-Monteith method adapted to satellite data, and is used to examine the impact of atmospheric effects. Regarding the reflectance comparison, the main problem was observed in Band 4 of Landsat 5TM and 7ETM+, where the difference, for uncorrected images, was more than 20% and statistically significant. Results regarding ETc show that omission or ineffective atmospheric corrections in Landsat 5TM,/7ETM+ satellite images always results in a water deficit when estimating crop water demand. Diminished estimated crop water requirements can result in a reduction in output or, if critical, crop failure. The paper seeks to illustrate the importance of removing atmospheric effects from satellite images designated for hydrological purposes.  相似文献

Abstract

On November the 13th of 1985, the City of Armero (Colombia) was destroyed by debris flows generated by a reactivation of the Nevado del Ruiz Volcano. The flows ocurred in at least three principal pulses, as was observed by the disater's survivors. Landsat TM 5 data processing was carried out in subscenes taken before and after the lahar sedimentation.

False color composites were generated and combined with the geological information available in order to visualize the magnitude of the catastrophe and the flow characteristics. Taking advantage of Landsat TM 5 images with high spectral resolution, a detailed photogeological mapping of the three principal pulses of the debris flows was carried out. Landsat TM 5 proved to be a powerful complementary source of information for hazard assesment of these catastrophic debris flows. The images were used in addition to ground‐based information, and were an easy way to help ordinary people and decision makers understand such hazardous volcanic situations.  相似文献

Abstract

The usefulness of integration of SAR (ERS-1) and Landsat TM data for study active faults and the corresponding displaced landforms in flat or almost flat areas has been demonstrated. The study area is the Kozani basin which in May 13, 1995 was affected by a strong earthquake (Ms=6.6). After co-registration and resampling the two data sets were merged to form a combined image. The combined image offers the spectral characteristics of the TM data with the spatial resolution and roughness sensitivity of SAR images. The merging method used was the IMS to RGB transform. The criteria and parameters examined were geomorphic features, drainage network analysis, slope processes, terrain analysis, and observations on spatial distribution of soil cover as well as linear features that correspond to fracture zones crossing the basin. The use of the combined image allowed us to identify tectonic terraces in the basin produced by activity of normal faults located in the adjacent relief zone.  相似文献

为了追索朝鲜北部惠山-利原成矿带是否延入玄武岩覆盖下的中国长白山地区,采用航空彩色红外像片和经过处理的TM数据,解译惠山-长白县一带的构造、岩性展布和蚀变现象。发现控制惠山-利原成矿带的构造(地层已延入我国长白县,但为玄武岩覆盖。采用TM5/TM7,TM4/TM3,TM3/TM4比值合成图像,压抑了植被干扰,突出了粘土类矿物蚀变岩信息。结合重力、航磁资料分析,推断沿江村-万宝岗及马鹿沟以北一带存在隐伏斑岩体,确定此二处为找矿靶区。通过地面地质验证及物化探普查工作,在沿江村一带,获得了良好的找矿效果,发现了大量辉绿玢岩、低温热液蚀变岩石和铜化探异常,并于马鹿沟以北,圈定出3km2金异常区。  相似文献

This paper reports an investigation to determine the degree to which digitally processed Landsat TM imagery can be used to discriminate among vegetated lava flows of different ages in the Menengai Caldera, Kenya. Since Landsat data display vegetation parameters well, and plant communities vary with type and depth of soil development, selective digital processing techniques were applied to take advantage of these characteristics for discriminating relative age differences of the underlying volcanics. A selective series of five images, consisting of a color‐coded Landsat 5 classification and four color composites, were compared with geologic maps. These included a color coded, modified, unsupervised classification and contrast enhanced, color composite images using TM bands 3–2–1, 4–3–2 and 7–5–3, and the first 3 Karhunen‐Loeve transformation axes that had been generated using 7 Landsat TM bands.

The most recent of more than 70 post‐caldera flows within the caldera are trachytes, which are variably covered by shrubs and subsidiary grasses. Soil development evolves as a function of time, and as such, supports a changing plant community. Progressively older flows exhibit the increasing dominance of grasses over bushes. It was found that the Landsat images correlated well with geologic maps, but that the two mapped age classes could be further subdivided on the basis of different vegetation communities. It is concluded that field maps can be modified, and in some cases corrected by use of such imagery, and that digitally enhanced Landsat imagery can be a useful aid to field mapping in similar terrains.  相似文献

甘肃北山属大陆性气候区,裸露着无古代和古生代地层。华力西中-晚期的构造岩浆活动强烈,并伴生有金、铜等多种矿产。根据矿物岩石的反射波谱和TM数据统计特征,选用TM7、TM5、TM4合成图像和TM5/TM4、TM5/TM7比值图像,不仅提供了丰富的构造信息,而且可以区分多种岩性和圈定有一定规模的热液蚀变岩石晕。用于1:50,000-1:500,000地质制图和圈定找矿靶区,取得了良好的经济效益和找矿效果。  相似文献

Landsat系列卫星自1972发射以来,已经连续提供了40多年的中等分辨率多光谱遥感数据,广泛应用于农业、水资源管理、灾害响应等领域。目前,很多研究人员开始考虑利用这些数据开展中分辨率尺度的长时间序列地表定量信息监测,更加精细地反映局地甚至全球气候变化。开展这些研究的前提在于对数据进行辐射定标,并通过不同卫星的交叉辐射传递保证数据辐射精度的一致性。从Landsat 1到Landsat 8,随着遥感器性能和数据获取能力的提升,辐射定标方法不断更新,涉及发射前实验室定标、内定标灯方法、全孔径太阳定标器方法、交叉定标方法、场地定标方法等。本文在对Landsat系列卫星的遥感器性能进行分类、归纳、对比的基础上,系统梳理了Landsat系列卫星遥感器辐射定标方法发展过程以及不同定标方法的优缺点,特别是对定标精度的影响。Landsat系列卫星辐射定标的发展过程为遥感数据高精度定量化应用提供了非常重要的基础,未来辐射定标方法不但要随着新型遥感器研制而更新,更要注重多源遥感数据的交叉验证以及全过程辐射定标方法的完善与应用,保障遥感数据辐射定标精度的一致性。  相似文献

根据1990、2000和2008年TM/ETM影像资料,运用人机交互目视解译的方法,获取了土地利用信息,分析太湖流域近18年的土地利用变化特征,揭示了该流域各种土地利用数量变化的幅度、速度以及土地利用空间变化的主要类型、分布特征和区域差异。结果表明:①18年内,太湖流域土地利用发生了大幅度的变化,最为突出的是建设用地的迅速增加和耕地的大量减少;②太湖流域土地利用数量变化存在明显的区域差异。  相似文献

Abstract

Photogeological techniques were used to analyze Landsat‐TM images of the Paraiba State, which resulted in the identification of the following structures: lineaments of regional extent, short en echelon lineaments, intricate ramification of the wrench system, and infrastructures among major lineaments and circular or ring structures. This lineament map was correlated to existing geological maps, to areas of known hydrothermal mineralization (Cu, Au, Mo, Ni, W and Ti), and the lineament map was verified in the field reconnaissance. Due to lack of systematic studies of the geology and natural resources of the region the mineral exploration is still in rudimentary stages. The objective of this research is to emphasize the detection and analysis of lineaments, their patterns, and geometry and their relations with the occurrence of mineral resources and its exploration in areas as yet explored. A large number of mineral‐bearing pegmatites of the region are controlled by major lineaments and associated minor lineaments. It is believed that the structures of interest in search for mineral deposits are warping part of the minor shear zones, the intersections of short and regional lineaments, and the circular features.  相似文献

以湖北大冶为研究区,采用多时相陆地卫星遥感图像,通过不同波段组合,以及ironoxide指数和归一化差异植被指数(NDVI)等,详细分析了各地表地物光谱特征和空间特征,建立了研究区分类知识库表,采用决策二叉树法进行分类,得到了高精度分类结果图。基于不同时相分类结果的变化检测,通过对研究区水体污染、矿区复垦、耕地变化等分析,认为从1986~2002年,研究区水质虽有一定改善,但矿区植被退化严重,耕地大量减少,停产矿区复垦仅为20%,为合理保护矿区生态环境和科学管理采矿企业提供了有用资料。  相似文献

矿物光谱指数是利用比值的方法增强Fe和含OH矿物在可见光、短波红外区间的吸收特征,进而提取蚀变矿物信息的一种方法。由于斑岩型矿床的蚀变分带特征明显,西藏多龙矿集区中集中了斑岩型、浅成低温热液型等铜、金矿床,通过矿物光谱指数的计算提取相关蚀变信息,对该区域的下一步找矿具有指导意义。本文采用矿物光谱指数(5+7)/6、(6+9)/8等方法提取了镁、铝两类羟基及铝羟基类下的高岭石等蚀变信息,采用5/4、2/1的方法提取了二价铁、三价铁的蚀变信息。经过与OLI影像采用PCA方法及野外实地勘查采样,证实了利用本文方法所提取的蚀变信息有效。  相似文献

1991—2014年中亚伊塞克湖湖泊面积变化遥感监测   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
基于中亚伊塞克湖地区的1991—1998年Landsat-5/TM、1999—2012年Landsat-7/ETM+以及2013—2014年Landsat-8/OLI等遥感影像为主要基础数据,通过采用波段比值法(TM3/TM5)自动提取湖泊边界,并加以人工修订,得出了伊塞克湖1991—2014年多期次的湖泊边界及对应的湖泊面积变化过程.结果显示,伊塞克湖的湖泊面积在1991—1998年间总体减小5.3 km2,而在1998—2014年间总体增大7.3 km2.通过与中亚地区Tian Shan气象站记录的气象数据对比发现,伊塞克湖水域面积的变化与气温和降水具有显著的正相关关系,这说明过去20年以来中亚地区气候的暖湿化对伊塞克湖流域具有重大影响.  相似文献

Spectral analysis technique has been utilized to identify the Bauxite mineral occurrences in Panchpatmali, Orissa, India. Spectral processing of Landsat ETM+ data has been carried out by converting the digital data from quantized and calibrated values to reflectance values. Minimum noise fraction transformation is used to determine the inherent dimensionality of reflected Landsat ETM+ data, to segregate noise in the data, and to reduce the computational requirements for subsequent processing and interactively to locate pure pixels within the data-set, projecting n-dimensional scatterplots. Spectral processing results are displayed in the form of images corresponding to each group of pixels (endmembers). Mixed tune matched filtering method has been applied on Landsat ETM+ images which gave three score (abundance) images for three different classes (endmembers) such as Bauxite, vegetation and soil. Further, mineralized zones are identified using image fusion of ERS-2 SAR and Landsat ETM+ data using intensity-hue-saturation technique.  相似文献

An empirical study was performed assessing the accuracy of land use change detection when using satellite image data acquired ten years apart by sensors with differing spatial resolutions. Landsat/Multi‐spectral Scanner (MSS) with Landsat/Thematic Mapper (TM) or SPOT/High Resolution Visible (HRV) multi‐spectral (XS) data were used as a multi‐data pair for detecting land use change. The primary objectives of the study were to: (1) compare standard change detection methods (e.g. multi‐date ratioing and principal components analysis) applied to image data of varying spatial resolution; (2) assess whether to transform the raster grid of the higher resolution image data to that of the lower resolution raster grid or vice‐versa in the registration process: and (3) determine if Landsat/TM or SPOT/ HRV(XS) data provides more accurate detection of land use changes when registered to historical Landsat/MSS data.

Ratioing multi‐sensor, multi‐date satellite image data produced higher change detection accuracies than did principal components analysis and is useful as a land use change enhancement technique. Ratioing red and near infrared bands of a Landsat/MSS‐SPOT/HRV(XS) multi‐date pair produced substantially higher change detection accuracies (~10%) than ratioing similar bands of a Landsat/MSS ‐ Landsat/TM multi‐data pair. Using a higher‐resolution raster grid of 20 meters when registering Landsat/MSS and SPOTZHRV(XS) images produced a slightly higher change detection accuracy than when both images were registered to an 80 meter raster grid. Applying a “majority”; moving window filter whose size approximated a minimum mapping unit of 1 hectare increased change detection accuracies by 1–3% and reduced commission errors by 10–25%.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between crown closure and tree density in mixed forest stands using Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) reflectance values (TM 1- TM 5 and TM 7) and six vegetation indices (SR, DVI, SAVI, NDVI, TVI and NLI). In this study, multiple regression analysis was used to estimate the relationships between the crown closure and tree density (number of tree stems per hectare) using reflectance values and vegetation indices (VIs). The results demonstrated that the model that used SR and DVI had the best performances in terms of crown closure (R2?=?0.674) and the model that used the DVI and SAVI had the best performances in terms of tree density (R2?=?0.702). The regression model that used TM 1, TM 3 together with TM 4 showed the performances of the crown closure (R2?=?0.610) and the regression model that used TM 1 showed the performances of the tree density (0.613). Results obtained from this research show that vegetation indices (VIs) were a better predictor of crown closure and tree density than other TM bands.  相似文献

The visible and near infrared bands of Landsat have limitations for detecting ships in turbid water. The potential of TM middle infrared bands for ship detection has so far not been investigated. This study analyzed the performance of the six Landsat TM visible and infrared bands for detecting dredging ships in the turbid waters of the Poyang Lake, China. A colour composite of principal components analysis (PCA) components 3, 2 and 1 of a TM image was used to randomly select 81 dredging ships. The reflectance contrast between ships and adjacent water was calculated for each ship. A z-score and related p-value were used to assess the ship detection performance of the six Landsat TM bands. The reflectance contrast was related to water turbidity to analyze how water turbidity affected the capability of ship identification. The results revealed that the TM middle infrared bands 5 and 7 better discriminated vessels from surrounding waters than the visible and near infrared bands 1–4. A significant relation between reflectance contrast and water turbidity in bands 1–4 could explain the limitations of bands 1–4; while water turbidity has no a significant relation to the reflectance contrast of bands 5 and 7. This explains why bands 5 and 7 detect ships better than bands 1–4.  相似文献

Although alteration minerals related to metallogenesis is very important in mineral exploration, information of alteration mineral is weakly expressed in remote sensing imagery, which is often subject to interfering noise and sometimes limited in spectral and spatial resolutions. Because of easy access, moderate images are the main sources of alteration mineral information. Therefore, it is very important to develop alteration mineral information extraction methods from remote sensing images. In this paper, a combined method based on Mask, principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machine method (SVM) was used to extract alteration mineral information from Enhanced thematic mapper plus remote sensing data with limited spectral and spatial resolutions. First, a mask image of the remote sensing imagery was created to remove interference information such as vegetation, shadow and water. Then, PCA was employed to collect sample data relating to iron, argillic, and carbonatization alteration. Finally, SVM was used to deal with alteration anomaly and build a feature extraction model of high accuracy. The Mask-PCA-SVM model is used to extract alteration mineral information from remote sensing images of Hatu area, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regions, China. The results show that the new methods proposed in this paper can coincide well with known deposits occurrences, rate reached 86.51%. While, the consistent rate with known deposits of the ratio model, PCA model and Spectral angle mapper model were only 3.37, 65.08 and 69.05% respectively. This suggests that the proposed model can find the actual distribution of mineral deposits more effectively by reducing interference to a greater degree.  相似文献
