Summary A new method is described for taking sediment sample cores of a diameter of 112 millimeters from deep lakes. The rather large core diameter requires a mechanism which closes the lower end of the core before retraction so that the core can be raised without loss of the sample. The apparatus is set on to a cutting table on which the core, still in the tube, is separated from the closing mechanism without disturbance by means of a blade. The bottom end of the tube is then secured and the corer can be re-used with a new core tube.   相似文献

A boring instrument for the removal of undisturbed samples from lake sediments at any depth is described. The bore tube cuts a sediment core (diameter 110 mm) in which the layering structure of a 300 mm long section can be examined in its natural undisturbed form. The core is sectioned using a knife made out of mineral glass (thin window glass). The core can be fixed with a piston and laid down horizontally. After removing the glass knife, it can be further processed, sampled, etc. Examples of such cores from the Greifensee, the Hallwilersee and from Lake Lucerne (Bay of Gersau) show the amazing detail and individuality of the sediments.  相似文献

A new coring device is presented which allows the recovery of loose watery surface sediments and the water/sediment interface byin situ freezing, resulting in well preserved samples. The instrument consists of a tripod with adjustable legs, a hydraulic system, an insulated thermos (with two electrical pumps), and a wedge-shaped freeze box. Alcohol chilled with dry ice is the freezing agent. The corer can be deployed from a boat or a raft and permits recovery of undisturbed surface sediment sections up to 100 cm long in deep waters. The corer is particularly useful for sampling varved sediments.  相似文献

Settled particles of fresh, labile organic matter may be a significant source of oxygen demand and nutrient regeneration in seasonally-hypoxic regions caused by nutrient inputs into stratified coastal zones. Studying the dynamics of this material requires sediment sampling methods that include flocculent organic materials and overlying water (OLW) at or above the sediment–water interface (SWI). A new coring device (“HYPOX” corer) was evaluated for examining nitrogen- (N) and oxygen-dynamics at the SWI and OLW in the northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOMEX). The HYPOX corer consists of a “Coring Head” with a check-valve, a weighted “Drive Unit,” and a “Lander,” constructed from inexpensive components. The corer collected undisturbed sediment cores and OLW from sediments at NGOMEX sampling sites with underlying substrates ranging from sand to dense clay. The HYPOX corer could be deployed in weather conditions similar to those needed for a multi-bottle rosette water-sampling system with 20 L bottles. As an example of corer applicability to NGOMEX issues, NH4+ cycling rates were examined at hypoxic and control sites by isotope dilution experiments. The objective was to determine if N-dynamics in OLW were different from those in the water column. “Ammonium demand,” as reflected by potential NH4+ uptake rates, was higher in OLW than in waters collected from a meter or more above the bottom at both sites, but the pattern was more pronounced at the hypoxia site. By contrast, NH4+ regeneration rates were low in all samples. These preliminary results suggest that heterotrophic activity and oxygen consumption in OLW in the hypoxic region may be regulated by the availability of NH4+, or other reduced N compounds, rather than by the lack of sufficient labile organic carbon.  相似文献

A highly flexible and efficient gravity corer, easy to construct from inexpensive and readily available material, is described. Barrels of various length can be swiftly interchanged according to requirements in the field. Hollow weights can easily be adjusted to the most appropriate height of the barrel. The simple but reliable closing valve (constructed of two plastic funnels) can be adapted to other types of gravity corers as well. Several useful modifications of the corer are discussed.  相似文献

An experimental study on concrete filled steel tube columns with rectangular section subjected to compressionflexure-torsion combined action has been carried out. The failure modes and load-deformation hysteretic relations were obtained. Based on the principles of classical material mechanics, the relations between the torsion curvature of the section and the shear strain of the fiber on the section were established. Then the strain distribution on the rectangular section of concrete filled steel tube columns subjected to torsion was analyzed. The three-dimensional refined finite element model was also built, in order to make the precision verification. The matrix forms of the relation between the torsion curvature of the section and the shear strain of the fiber on the section were derived, and introduced into the fiber beam model considering nonlinear torsion effect on the section. The comparison between test results and calculation results showed that the fiber beam model considering nonlinear torsion effect had high modeling efficiency and solution precision for predicting the torsion behavior of concrete filled steel tube columns with rectangular sections, and was suitable for analyzing the dynamic response of various structures subjected to the combined cyclic load caused by the earthquake load.  相似文献

验证研究新型多层钢管混凝土柱-铰接钢梁-混凝土核心筒结构的震损和反应特点。制作9层1/40的缩尺模型进行振动台测试,调查结构的震损特点、动力特性和地震反应。结果表明:震损出现在楼板与钢管混凝土柱、核心筒以及钢梁连接处的楼板上,震损破坏为变形引起的连接构造破坏和结构性破坏;自振周期随震损增加而增大,动力放大效应减小,侧向变形和层间位移显著增大;结构平均最大层间位移角超过规范框架-核心筒结构不倒塌限值的4.08倍而未出现倒塌;外排架抗扭刚度小,结构扭转反应由核心筒主导;相对于超高层结构,多层结构的剪重比显著增大,未出现因倾覆力矩过大而导致核心筒破坏的情况,较大层间位移角与损伤破坏的相关性提高。  相似文献

新型错层隔震结构是基础隔震和层间隔震体系发展而来的一种新型隔震结构。强主震发生后会伴随着大量的余震出现,余震会使结构造成更大损伤。研究新型错层隔震结构分别在单独主震和主-余震作用下结构的变形与损伤,采用ETABS有限元软件建立某24层框架-核心筒结构模型进行非线性时程响应分析。结果表明:主-余震作用下,新型错层隔震结构的核心筒损伤主要集中在框架隔震层和核心筒隔震层之间,框架的塑性铰集中在框架隔震层以下部分,框架隔震层角柱支座的滞回曲线饱满且比核心筒隔震层角部隔震支座耗能好。新型错层隔震结构的最大隔震层位移均出现在框架隔震层。在余震作用下,新型错层隔震结构的损伤会显著增加。框架隔震层以上框架部分和以下框架部分以及核心筒的损伤分别增加8%、10%和19.80%。余震对隔震层的影响更大,框架隔震层和核心筒隔震层的层间位移分别增加78.70%和60.54%。  相似文献

A new, modified model of the Kajak tube core sampler is presented. The new sampler is intended for use on soft sediments, and hence of light weight (12 kg). The improved sampler offers the following advantages. (1) increased robustness, (2) simplified attachment of the coring tube to the holder and valve assembly, permitting quick exchange of sampling tubes, (3) unimpeded flow of water through the tube during slow descent, (4) a reliable, automatic mechanism closing the top of the core tube after impact, and (5) an easily dismantled supporting frame, which also protects the sampler from damage against the side of the boat in rought weather. The operation of the sampler has been observedin situ and during ordinary shipboard collection of core samples, with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A novel type of angle steel buckling‐restrained brace (ABRB) has been developed for easier control on initial geometric imperfection in the core, more design flexibility in the buckling restraining mechanism and easier assembly work. The steel core is composed of four angle steels to form a non‐welded cruciform shape restrained by two external angle steels, which are welded longitudinally to form an external tube. Component test was conducted on seven ABRB specimens under uniaxial quasi‐static cyclic loading. The test results reveal that the consistency between the actual and design behavior of ABRB can be well achieved without the effect of weld in the core. The ABRBs with proper details exhibited stable cyclic behavior and satisfactory cumulative plastic ductility capacity, so that they can serve as effective hysteretic dampers. However, compression–flexure failure at the steel core projection was found to be the primary failure mode for the ABRBs with hinge connections even though the cross‐section of the core projection was reinforced two times that of the yielding segment. The failure mechanism is further discussed by investigating the NuMu correlation curve. It is found that the bending moment response developed in the core projection induced by end rotation was the main cause for such a failure mode, and it is suggested that core projection should be kept within elastic stage under the possible maximum axial load and bending moment response. 利用核磁共振二维谱、在线测试技术,建立了扩散-弛豫二维谱技术分析岩心含油饱和度的方法;对不同井的不同层段岩心进行了不同驱替速度水驱油的核磁共振在线测试,通过对比不同时刻测试的核磁共振T2图谱的面积值和分布特征,计算不同孔隙区间油的采出程度,分析评价不同孔隙对整体采出程度的贡献率、水驱油效果以及剩余油状况。实验结果表明,TK150井油层段实验岩心水驱大、中孔隙对采出程度的贡献较大,弱水淹段实验岩心水驱大、中、小孔隙对采出程度的贡献较大。但大孔隙所占总孔隙比例小,所以采出程度相比油层段岩心较低。TK960井油层段实验岩心水驱大、中孔隙对采出程度的贡献较大,中水淹段实验岩心水驱中、小孔隙对采出程度的贡献较大,强水淹段实验岩心水驱大、中孔隙对采出程度的贡献较大。不同井的不同层段岩心水驱油后所有尺度的孔隙中都有剩余油分布。   相似文献

We develop a model of lava flow in a cylindrical tube with elliptical cross section. The lava is considered an isothermal, incompressible Newtonian fluid. We solve analytically the steady-state Navier–Stokes equation under a constant driving force, given by the component of gravity along the axis of the tube and obtain the velocity and stress field components in the fluid. The ratio between the flow rate of the elliptical tube and that of a circular tube, having the same cross sectional area, is found to be always less than 1 and to depend only on the value of eccentricity. The ratio decreases rapidly when the eccentricity becomes lower than about 0.5. The average flow velocity in a partially filled tube is calculated under the assumption of constant flow rate. In an elliptical tube, the shear traction is not uniform on the wall of the tube, but changes periodically with the position. It is maximum at the intersections with the minor axis and minimum at the intersections with the major axis, the ratio between the maximum and the minimum value being equal to the ratio between the lengths of the two axes. Assuming that the erosion rate of the wall of the tube is proportional to shear traction, we calculate the erosion of the wall as a function of time and find that its effect is such as to make the tube cross section closer to the circular shape.  相似文献

针对传统的混凝土灌浆型和全钢型防屈曲支撑质量较大,无法适用于大跨空间结构等轻型建筑的问题,本文提出一种铝管约束轻型防屈曲支撑的设计方法。在核心钢管和约束管间设置不同宽度的间隙并对部分核心钢管进行开孔,通过拉压往复试验,研究了间隙和开孔对试件性能的影响,得到构件的相关恢复力特征,并分析了试件相关参数对耗能特性的影响。结果表明,本文设计的轻型防屈曲约束支撑,滞回曲线饱满,耗能效果良好;核心钢管宜开孔且支撑间隙应设置在1 mm左右,以减轻试件端部压力并简化施工工艺。  相似文献

Developing an accurate conceptual site model (CSM) is an important process before a decision can be made regarding effective remedial actions. A critical aspect of an accurate CSM is thoroughly understanding the biogeochemistry occurring at the site in the area of concern. To collect media samples that accurately preserve the in situ biogeochemistry, a new Rotosonic core barrel and core preservation protocol was developed. The new biogeochemical core barrel (BCB) successfully isolated and preserved the in situ biogeochemical conditions of the soil core and minimized the soil core's exposure pathways to air. The BCB's success was achieved by a modified Rotosonic core barrel, a specialized drive shoe, an internal BCB core barrel piston, hydraulic extrusion of the soil core into a stainless core tube with an internal piston, and specialized core tube sealing, handling, and subsampling methods. Detailed subsampling of 65-foot (nominally 20 m) soil core in 2-inch (nominally 51 mm) increments within a specialized anaerobic glovebox confirmed the presence of five biogeochemical redox transition zones within the soil core. The BCB also allowed for split soil core samples for detailed mineralogical and live microbiological studies. Success of the BCB method is further evidenced by the presence of the highly redox-sensitive surface bound iron sulfide mineral mackinawite. The BCB allowed detailed analysis of the soil core including Fe and S concentration gradients, oxidation–reduction potential gradients, volatile organic compound analysis, and live microbiological assessments.  相似文献

由于方钢管对混凝土约束作用较弱,地震作用下方钢管混凝土柱底部钢管易出现屈曲,因此本文提出一种新型内约束方钢管混凝土柱。基于ABAQUS有限元软件,本文采用合理的材料本构模型建立内约束方钢管混凝土柱三维实体精细有限元模型,该模型能准确反应钢管、混凝土以及拉筋之间的相互作用,又能反应拟静力作用下混凝土的塑性损伤和钢材的循环硬化规律。有限元结果与试验结果吻合良好。首先,在此基础上笔选出最佳内约束形式,对拉箍筋方钢管混凝土柱的抗震性能明显优于圆环箍筋;其次,提出在不同轴压比下内约束方钢管混凝土柱的焊接拉筋最佳布置长度和合理体积配箍率;再次,探讨不同参数对内约束方钢管混凝土柱滞回性能的影响,结果表明:提高截面含钢率和长细比能有效改善组合柱的极限承载力,而轴压比在一定范围内有利于能提高柱的承载力;最后,讨论了约束措施对内约束方钢管混凝土柱耗能性能的影响。  相似文献

A Sample-Freezing Drive Shoe for a Wire Line Piston Core Sampler   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Loss of fluids and samples during retrieval of cores of saturated, noncohesive sediments results in incorrect measures of fluid distributions and an inaccurate measure of the stratigraphic position of the sample. To reduce these errors, we developed a hollow drive shoe that freezes in place the lowest 3 inches (75 mm) of a 1.88-inch-diameter (48 mm), 5-foot-long (1.5 m) sediment sample taken using a commercial wire line piston core smapler. The end of the core is frozen by piping liquid carbon dioxide at ambient temperature through a steel tube from a bottle at the land surface to the drive shoe where it evaporates and expands, cooling the interior surface of the shoe to about - 109°F (- 78°C). Freezing a core end takes about 10 minutes. The device was used to collect samples for a study of oil-water-air distributions, and for studies of water chemistry and microbial activity in unconsolidated sediments at the site of an oil spill near Bemidji, Minnesota. Before freezing was employed, samples of sandy sediments from near the water table sometimes flowed out of the core barrel as the sampler was withdrawn. Freezing the bottom of the core allowed for the retention of all material that entered the core barrel and lessened the redistribution of fluids within the core. The device is useful in the unsaturated and shallow saturated zones, but does not freeze cores well at depths greater than about 20 feet (6 m) below water, possibly because the feed tube plugs with dry ice with increased exhaust back-pressure, or because sediment enters the annulus between the core barrel and the core barrel liner and blocks the exhaust.  相似文献

Using the concept of lumped masses and rigid floor slabs, several mathematical models were built using a popular PC‐based finite element program to model a tall building with a frame‐core wall structural system. These models were analysed to obtain the first nine mode shapes and their natural frequencies which were compared with those from field measurements, using numerical correlation indicators. The comparison shows several factors that can have a significant effect on the analysis results. Firstly, outriggers connecting the outer framed tube system to the inner core walled tube system have a significant effect on fundamental translational mode behaviour. Secondly, detailed modelling of the core considering major and minor openings as well as internal thin walls has the strongest influence on torsional behaviour, whose measurements were shown to be an important aspect of the dynamic behaviour for the structure studied. Fine tuning of an analytical model requires not just considering variation in values of structural parameters but also attention to fine detail. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

为研究核心筒抗震性能水准及其指标限值,完成了3个核心筒拟静力试验,记录了损伤过程及对应的层间位移角。在现有核心筒研究成果及国内外规范的基础上,将核心筒的抗震性能水准划分为4个等级,并给出了相应的宏观描述。通过总结相关试验研究结果,发现《建筑抗震设计规范》(GB50011-2010)对层间位移角限制过于严格,考虑到结构带裂缝工作,层间位移角限制过严会增加建筑成本,并导致结构自重增加而不利于抗震,故建议适当放宽核心筒的层间位移角限值,分别给出框架-核心筒及筒中筒结构最大层间位移角建议值。  相似文献

A thin‐profile buckling‐restrained brace (thin‐BRB) consists of a rectangular steel casing and a flat steel core that is parallel to a gusset plate. A thin configuration reduces the width of the restraining member and thus saves usable space in buildings. However, deformable debonding layers, which cover the steel core plate in order to mitigate the difference between the peak tensile and compressive axial forces, provide a space for the steel core to form high mode buckling waves when the thin‐BRB is under compression. The wave crests squeeze the debonding layers and produce outward forces on the inner surface of the restraining member. If the restraining member is too weak in sustaining the outward forces, local bulging failure occurs and the thin‐BRB loses its compression capacity immediately. In order to investigate local bulging behavior, a total of 22 thin‐BRB specimens with a ratio of steel core plate to restraining steel tube depth ranging from 0.3 to 0.7 and axial yield force capacities ranging from 421 kN to 3036 kN were tested by applying either cyclically increasing, decreasing, or constant axial strains. The restraining steel tube widths of all the specimens were smaller than 200 mm and were infilled with mortar with a compressive strength of 97 MPa or 55 MPa. Thirteen of the 22 thin‐BRB specimens' restraining members bulged out when the compressive core strains exceeded 0.03. A seismic design method of the thin‐BRB in preventing local bulging failure is proposed in this study. Test and finite element model (FEM) analysis results suggest that the outward forces can be estimated according to the BRB compressive strength, steel core high mode buckling wavelength, and the debonding layer thickness. In addition, the capacity of the restraining member in resisting the outward forces can be estimated by using the upper bound theory in plastic analysis. Both the FEM analysis and test results indicate that the proposed method is effective in predicting the possibility of local bulging failure. Test results indicate that the proposed design method is conservative for thin‐BRB specimens with a large steel core plate to restraining steel tube depth ratio. Various methods are available for coring in lakes. We have developed an integrated coring system based on a modified Kullenberg poston-corer principle which is particularly useful for multiple coring in deep lakes. The selection of sites is guided by concurrent high-resolution (3.5 kHz) continuous seismic profiling. The system is modular for simple transport, and includes a very reliable tripweight gravity corer which uses the same plastic liners as the piston corer. Piston-core lengths are variable in 2, 4, or 5 m sections up to 16 m. This system has been successfully deployed in glacially deepened perialpine lakes (Lakes Zürich, Zug, Greifensee, Lucerne, Walensee, Constance, Murten, Neuchâtel, Geneva, Thun, Brienz, Maggiore, Lugano, Iseo, Garda, d'Annecy, Bourget and Ammersee), deep rift lakes of Africa (Turkana, Albert, Edward, Kiwu), Lake Ohrid (Jugoslavia), Lake Van (Turkey), Qinghai Lake (China), and in very shallow hypersaline lakes Urmia (Iran) and Great Salt Lake (USA). Following numerous requests, this paper describes the system concept and constructional features that have been refined over the last 12 years. Development has stressed increasing simplification and increased reliability.  相似文献
