We determined chlorine contents in nine GSJ (Geological Survey of Japan) reference materials (JB-1, 1a, 2, 3; JA-1, 2, 3; JR-1, 2) by prompt gamma neutron activation analysis, employing the standard addition method. Pressed powder disks of each reference material were used for neutron irradiation and gammaray measurement, after known quantities (25-200 μl) of sodium chloride solution were added. The influence of the nearby sodium peak overlap was checked, and fluctuations in the chlorine count rate were corrected using silicon as an internal standard. The slopes of calibration lines for seven reference materials (JB-1, 2, 3; JA-1, 2, 3; JR-2) and SiO2 powders fall within 5% error, and their chlorine values were obtained from the intercepts. Chlorine contents in JB-1 a and JR-1 were also determined by using the calibration lines. Our chlorine values ranged from 26.1 to 934 μg g-1, which agrees well with the previously reported values.  相似文献

Instrumental neutron activation analysis of rocks and minerals is currently done on basis of collecting 2 or 3 energy spectra. We have found that, by collecting one spectrum one week after irradiation, satisfactory results for the USGS and CRPG geochemical reference samples can be obtained.  相似文献

The details of a test simulator that provides a realistic environment for performing virtual laboratory experimentals in soil mechanics is presented. A computer program ‘Geo‐Sim’ that can be used to perform virtual experiments, and allow for real‐time observations of material response is presented. The results of experiments, for a given set of input parameters, are obtained with the test simulator using well‐trained artificial neural‐network‐based soil models for different soil types and stress paths. Multimedia capabilities are integrated in Geo‐Sim, using software that links and controls a laser disc player with a real‐time parallel processing ability. During the simulation of a virtual experiment, relevant portions of the video image of a previously recorded test on an actual soil specimen are dispalyed along with the graphical presentation of response from the feedforward ANN model predictions. The pilot simulator developed to date includes all aspects related to performing a triaxial test on cohesionless soil under undrained and drained conditions. Midas/GTS岩土数值模拟软件具有简洁的界面、前后处理功能强大的岩土材料模型库,能满足大部分岩土体的破坏模式。建立工程边坡的三维数值模型,并对其计算分析.结果接近真实情况,且计算结果相对安全。本文采用该软件与有限元强度折减法相结合模式,对三维边坡实例的各种工况进行数值模拟,得到边坡的最大剪应变、最大剪应力出现的部位和数值大小以及边坡整体安全系数,由此确定边坡的薄弱带和潜在滑面,能客观反映边坡稳定性。  相似文献

利用傅立叶显微红外光谱、紫外-可见-近红外吸收光谱、低温光致发光谱、拉曼光谱等4种谱学方法,对10颗辐照改色(R1-R10)的彩色天然金刚石进行了研究。利用可见吸收光谱和低温光致发光谱研究了金刚石石中的点缺陷产生系列的色心峰,指出在可见吸收光谱中除了有N3心吸收峰外,还可见595和637色心峰;在低温光致发光谱中发现有色心组合峰575,595和637等的出现,此组合峰与近红外区4929cm^-1处的H1b和5156cm^-1处的H1C色心峰共同存时,不仅是辐照处理绿色金刚石的鉴定证据,也是辐照处理各种彩色金刚石的重要的标志之一。本研究为辐射处理金刚石的鉴别和工艺流程提供了新的谱学依据和思路。  相似文献

The 40Ar/39Ar dating technique requires the activation of 39Ar via neutron irradiation. The energy produced by the reaction is transferred to the daughter atom as kinetic energy and triggers its displacement, known as the recoil effect. Significant amounts of 39Ar and 37Ar can be lost from minerals leading to spurious ages and biased age spectra. Through two experiments, we present direct measurement of the recoil-induced 39Ar and 37Ar losses on Fish Canyon sanidine and plagioclase. We use multi-grain populations with discrete sizes ranging from 210 to <5 μm. One population consists of a mixture between sanidine and plagioclase, and the other includes pure sanidine.We show that 39Ar loss (depletion factor) for sanidine is ∼3% for the smallest fraction. Age spectra of fractions smaller than ∼50 μm show slight departure from flat plateau-age spectrum usually observed for large sanidine. This departure is roughly proportional to the size of the grain but does not show typical 39Ar loss age spectra. The calculated thickness of the total depletion layer d0(sanidine) is 0.035 ± 0.012 (2σ). This is equivalent to a mean depth of the partial depletion layer (x0) of 0.070 ± 0.024 μm. The latter value is indistinguishable from previous values of ∼0.07-0.09 μm obtained by argon implantation experiments and simulation results.We show that it is possible to adequately correct ages from 39Ar ejection loss provided that the d0-value and the size range of the minerals are sufficiently constrained. As exemplified by similar calculations performed on results obtained in a similar study of GA1550 biotite [Paine J. H., Nomade S., and Renne P. R. (2006) Quantification of 39Ar recoil ejection from GA1550 biotite during neutron irradiation as a function of grain dimensions. Geochim. Cosmochim. Acta70, 1507-1517.], the d0(biotite) is 0.46 ± 0.06 μm. The significant difference between empirical results on biotite and sanidine, along with different simulation results, suggests that for biotite, crystal structures and lattice defects of the stopping medium and possibly subsequent thermal degassing (due to ∼150-200 °C temperature in the reactor or extraction line bake out) must play an important role in 39Ar loss.The second experiment suggests that 37Ar recoil can substantially affect the age via the interference corrections with results that suggest up to ∼98% of 37Ar can be ejected from the ∼5 μm grain dimension.Further investigation of silicates of various compositions and structures are required to better understand (and correct) the recoil and recoil-induced effects on both 39Ar and 37Ar and their influences on 40Ar/39Ar dating.  相似文献

He,Ne and Ar composition in a neutron activated sea-floor basalt glass   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We have measured the composition of He, Ne and Ar in the glassy rim of a fresh oceanic basalt from the East Pacific Rise. Three splits of the sample were subjected to neutron irradiation prior to analysis to investigate the noble gas release as a function of different neutron doses. The shapes of the observed 39Ar-40Ar degassing profiles depend critically on the irradiation dose due to a severe redistribution of excess 40Ar. This shows that the application of the 39Ar-40Ar method for dating of glassy samples requires the utmost care.Including the He and Ne results from the irradiated specimens, it was possible to determine the concentrations of Li and Mg and to estimate upper limits for Na and F in addition to the concentrations of K, Ca and Cl which are measured routinely as a byproduct of the 39Ar-40Ar dating method. This provides a useful extension of the 39Ar-40Ar technique since it may help to identify the outgassing sites during stepwise heating experiments. Furthermore it allows one to study the diffusion behavior of He and Ne isotopes artificially produced during irradiation. In our samples the activation energies of 3He and 21Ne tend to increase with growing neutron doses.  相似文献

水力压裂是提高非常规油气开采的重要手段,支撑剂位置及裂缝参数是评价压裂效果的重要因素.提出了以Gd作为示踪剂探测热中子来评价井周裂缝方法,将热中子双组扩散理论与数值模拟方法相结合,定义热中子变化参数WTN来指示裂缝宽度,并分析了岩性、井眼尺寸、地层孔隙度、地层水矿化度及含油饱和度对WTN的影响.模拟结果表明:随着裂缝宽度的增加,WTN先呈指数增加后趋于平缓;而地层孔隙度越大、地层水矿化度越小,WTN越大;井眼尺寸和地层含油饱和度的变化对WTN影响较小.利用蒙特卡罗方法建立了地层孔隙度、矿化度石灰岩地层压裂前后的数值计算模型,模拟研究了不同深度地层的热中子分布,得到了近远探测器热中子计数FAR、NEAR和WTN的响应曲线,最终处理裂缝参数结果与设定模型相吻合,验证了利用Gd示踪热中子探测方法可以来评价井周裂缝.   相似文献

An entirely new approach to stochastic simulation is proposed through the direct simulation of patterns. Unlike pixel-based (single grid cells) or object-based stochastic simulation, pattern-based simulation simulates by pasting patterns directly onto the simulation grid. A pattern is a multi-pixel configuration identifying a meaningful entity (a puzzle piece) of the underlying spatial continuity. The methodology relies on the use of a training image from which the pattern set (database) is extracted. The use of training images is not new. The concept of a training image is extensively used in simulating Markov random fields or for sequentially simulating structures using multiple-point statistics. Both these approaches rely on extracting statistics from the training image, then reproducing these statistics in multiple stochastic realizations, at the same time conditioning to any available data. The proposed approach does not rely, explicitly, on either a statistical or probabilistic methodology. Instead, a sequential simulation method is proposed that borrows heavily from the pattern recognition literature and simulates by pasting at each visited location along a random path a pattern that is compatible with the available local data and any previously simulated patterns. This paper discusses the various implementation details to accomplish this idea. Several 2D illustrative as well as realistic and complex 3D examples are presented to showcase the versatility of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

We performed a series of laboratory experiments in which elastic waves were transmitted across a simulated fault. Two types of experiments were carried out: (1) Normal Stress Holding Test (NSHT): normal stress was kept constant for about 3 h without shear stress and transmission waves were observed. (2) Shear Stress Increasing Test (SSIT): shear stress was gradually increased until a stick-slip event occurred. Transmission waves were continuously observed throughout the process of stress accumulation. We focused on the change in transmission waves during the application of shear stress and especially during precursory slips.It was found in NSHT that the amplitude of transmission waves linearly increased with the logarithm of stationary contact time. The increase amounted to a few percent after about 3 h. Creep at asperity contacts is responsible for this phenomenon. From a theoretical consideration, it was concluded that the real contact area increased with the logarithm of stationary contact time.We observed in SSIT a significant increase in wave amplitude with shear stress application. This phenomenon cannot be attributed to the time effect observed in NSHT. Instead, it can be explained by the mechanism of “junction growth” proposed by Tabor. Junction growth yields an increase in real contact area. It is required for junction growth to occur that the material in contact is already plastic under a purely normal loading condition. A computer simulation confirmed that this requirement was satisfied in our experiments. We also found that the rate at which the amplitude increased was slightly reduced prior to a stick-slip event. The onset time of the reduction well coincides with the onset of precursory slip. The cause of the reduction is attributed to the reset of stationary contact time due to displacement. This interpretation is supported by the result of NSHT. Taking the time of stationary contact in SSIT into account, we may expect the change in wave amplitude to be, at most, only a few percent. The observed slight reduction in increasing rate is, in this sense, reasonable. The static stiffness of the fault also decreases with precursory slip. It was also found that low frequency waves are a better indicator of precursory slip than high frequency waves. This might suggest that low frequency waves with longer wavelength are a better indicator of average behavior of faults. The problem, however, merits a further investigation. The shifts in phase were also found to be a good indicator of the change in contact state of the fault. The changes in both amplitude and phase of transmission waves are unifyingly understood through the theory of transmission coefficient presented by Pyrak-Nolte et al. Rough surfaces have a tendency to give larger stick-slips than smooth surfaces. The amount of precursory slip is larger for rough surfaces than for smooth surfaces. Although it was confirmed by a computer simulation that rough surfaces have larger contact diameters than smooth surfaces, the rigorous relationship between the surface roughness (contact diameter) and the amount of precursory slips was not established.  相似文献

由于月球采样点较少,月壤真实数据稀缺,限制了对月球科学问题的进一步研究。较全面系统地采集月壤样品在近期很难完成,开展月壤光谱模拟工作是月壤实测光谱的必要有益补充,可以为研究月壤光谱特征提供大量数据。基于Hapke模型,我们选取RELAB光谱库的斜长石、单斜辉石、斜方辉石、橄榄石、单质铁、钛铁矿、火山玻璃、熔融玻璃等典型月壤矿物,运用牛顿插值和最小二乘优化的方法,模拟了LSCC月壤数据的一定粒径、单质铁含量、观测条件及矿物混合比例下的混合光谱。模拟光谱与实测光谱拟合较好,相关系数均大于0.99,均方根误差在10-3数量级;模拟矿物丰度与实测矿物丰度基本一致;模拟SMFe含量与相对成熟度指数Is/FeO线性关系明显;模拟粒径基本落在实测粒径组范围内。最后,文中讨论了光谱吸收中心波长、吸收面积等光谱特征参数的模拟精度,以及高精度模拟光谱时光学常数的计算方法。  相似文献

裂变径迹是一种重要的低温热年代学测年方法,目前被广泛应用于岩体冷却年龄测试及各种构造演化热历史等的研究.该方法主要包括传统的外探测器法和近年来新开发的激光-电感耦合等离子质谱法(LA-ICP-MS/FT).由于传统的外探测器法一直受限于国内反应堆中子热化不充分、辐照周期长以及辐照带来的环境安全等问题,无法有效、快速地获得数据.相反, LA-ICP-MS/FT法的建立和应用不仅避免了因中子热化不充分、热中子分布不均带入的误差而提高了测年精度,而且还极大地提高了测试效率,缩短了解决科学问题的时间.通过对近年来新建立的裂变径迹LA-ICP-MS/FT法的测年基本原理和方法、实验步骤、常用年龄值和裂变径迹退火等的详细介绍,综述了该方法在相关应用方面的研究进展,并与传统的外探测器法进行了详细的对比.最后综述了LA-ICP-MS/FT法在造山带冷却隆升历史、沉积盆地分析、盆-山耦合系统分析、断裂活动、成矿时代和矿体保存等多方面的应用.  相似文献
