It has been suggested that Type Ia supernovae(SNe Ia) could be produced in the conditions of the violent merger scenario of the double-degenerate model, in which a thermonuclear explosion could be produced when a double carbon-oxygen white dwarf(CO WD) merges. It has been recently found that the nucleus of the bipolar planetary nebula Henize 2–428 consists of a double CO WD system that has a total mass of~1.76 M⊙, a mass ratio of~1 and an orbital period of~4.2 h, which is the first and only discovered progenitor candidate for an SN Ia predicted by the violent merger scenario. In this work, we aim to reproduce the evolutionary history of the central double CO WD of Henize 2–428. We find that the planetary nebula Henize 2–428 may originate from a primordial binary that has a~5.4 M⊙primary and a~2.7 M⊙secondary with an initial orbital period of~15.9 d. The double CO WD was formed after the primordial binary experienced two Roche-lobe overflows and two common-envelope ejection processes.According to our calculations, it takes about~840 Myr for the double CO WD to merge and form an SN Ia driven by gravitational wave radiation after their birth. To produce the current status of Henize 2–428,a large common-envelope parameter is needed. We also estimate that the rate of SNe Ia from the violent merger scenario is at most 2.9 × 10~(-4) yr~(-1), and that the delay time is in the range of~90 Myr to the Hubble time.  相似文献

We study the relation between the infrared colors[ OⅢ] emission lines,gaseous absorbing column density(NH) ,and the detectability of the polarized (hidden)broad-line region(HBLR) in a large sample of 75 Seyfert 2 galaxies(Sy2s).From the indicators of star-formation activity,f60/f100 and LFIR/LB,we find some evidence that the Sy2s without HBLR show higher star-formation activities than those with HBLR,in agreement with previous prediction.Also,we confirm that the HBLR Sy2s tend to have a larger luminosity ratio of the core to the host galaxy,suggesting that the HBLR Sy2s display more powerful AGN activity.Howerver,the level of obscuration found in previous papers in nearly indistinguishable between the two types of Sy2s.The results support the statement that the non-HBLR Sy2s,with a weaker core component and a stronger star-formation activity component,are intrinsically different from the HBLR Sy2s,which are Sy1 systems with a hidden powerful AGN core and a low star-formation activity.The indications are that the non-HBLR Sy2s might be at an earlier evolutionary phase than the HBLR Sy2s.  相似文献

Twelve examples of clouds of narrowband dm-spikes, observed by the Ondejov radiospectrograph in the 1–2 GHz frequency range, are analyzed. After transforming of the frequency scales to heights in the solar atmosphere, the indices of the power-law power spectra are determined. The derived power-law indices are scattered in a broad range of values (–0.80––2.85). In some cases they considerably deviate from the previously found value of –5/3. A change of the power-law index above logk2.5 was also found in some cases. In the two longest events the time evolution of their power spectra as well as their indices were studied. While in most parts of the radio spectra the spectral index remains constant, in one part its absolute value increases with the spike intensity increase. Finally, the results, especially the broad range of power-law indices, are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Intensity of dayglow emmisions in the lines of 0 II at 537 and 581 Å is evaluated from presently accepted atomic parameters, EUV solar fluxes and atmospheric models. The far-ultraviolet (FUV) spectrum of LS?V +46°21, the central star (CS) of the planetary nebula (PN) Sh?2?216, is strongly contaminated by interstellar absorption and thus, we have to simultaneously model both, the stellar as well as the interstellar spectrum in order to identify strategic metal lines which are only accessible in the FUV wavelength range. These lines are necessary to determine the photospheric parameters reliably. We present results of a NLTE spectral analysis of the FUV spectrum of LS?V+46°21.  相似文献

The prolonged 2007–2009 minimum is a big surprise for solar physics. In order to reveal the causes, we analyze the variability of the general magnetic field (GMF) of the Sun as a star measured by CrAO and five other observatories since 1968 (more than 19000 daily field strengths B were obtained in 41 years). Sharp yearly mean extrema of the negative (S) field took place in 1969, 1990, and 2008, with the third extremum, in contrast to the two previous ones, having coincided with the sunspot minimum. This explains both the long duration of the minimum and the record (over the last 100 years) increase in the length of the Wolf cycle (no. 23) to 12 or more years. The S-field extrema followed with a period of 19.5 ± 1.1 yr—some mean between the 22.1 ± 0.3-yr sunspot cycle, the 18.6-yr saros, and the 19.9-yr Jupiter-Saturn conjunction period. It is pointed out that, for some unclear reason, the negative polarity dominated on the Sun in 1968–2008: the overall mean B = −0.021 ± 0.015 G. The existence of a second Sun that obeys the laws of quantum mechanics is hypothesized. The “quantum” model of the Sun-2 explains many properties of the “classical” Sun-1, including the coronal heating, cyclic activity, periodic variations in GMF, and its sector structure.  相似文献

An intermediate shock-like event was observed by Voyager 2 on 9 January 1979. The discontinuity structure is well identified to be a 2→3 type intermediate shock by fitting the Rankine – Hugoniot relations. The shock satisfies the following conditions: i) the plasma density increases from the upstream region to the downstream region, ii) The normal Alfvén Mach number (M AN) is greater than unity in the preshock state and less than unity in the postshock state, iii) The fast-mode Mach numbers in the upstream and downstream regions are less than unity and both the slow-mode Mach numbers are greater than unity, iv) The tangential component of the magnetic field changes sign across the shock front.  相似文献

In this paper the non-linear parametric resonance is proposed to understand the reason why the observed the electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves in the auroral energization region are usually concentrate in the range close to the half value of the proton gyrofrequency [Gustafsson et at.,1990].The electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves are supposed to exist already at ωcH ,then,the non-linear parametric resonane can predict the peak at 1/2ωc H The parametric resonance is saturated by the non-linear effects and a drift of the resonance frequency is also predicted from  相似文献

We develop a method based on the samples from Apollo and Luna landing sites to determine lunar TiO2 content with Chang’E-1 interference imaging spectrometer (IIM) imagery. By analyzing the nonlinear relationship between the optical and compositional parameters of lunar soil samples, the method employs two Support Vector Machines (SVMs) to estimate the titanium abundance of the lunar surface. Developed with the soil compositions of the Apollo and Luna sample-return stations, the RMS (root mean square) error of our method is 0.24 wt% TiO2, and the correlation coefficient of the TiO2 values and our predicted ones is 99.72 %. Compared with the other 3 models, the method proposed in this paper exhibits a good performance for determining the chemical composition of the lunar surface. TiO2 maps of Sinus Iridum, part of the Marius Hills plateau, and part of Mare Smythii are produced using our method, which could be useful for future lunar missions.  相似文献

We report a multi-wavelength study of two evolved planetary nebulae(PNs) M 2–55 and Abell 2.Deep optical narrow-band images([O III], Hα, and [N II]) of M 2–55 reveal two pairs of bipolar lobes and a new faint arc-like structure. This arc-shaped filament around M 2–55 appears as a well-defined boundary from southwest to southeast, strongly suggesting that this nebula is in interaction with its surrounding interstellar medium. From the imaging data of Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer(WISE) all-sky survey,we discovered extensive mid-infrared halos around these PNs, which are approximately twice the size of their main nebulae seen in the visible. We also present a mid-resolution optical spectrum of M 2–55, which shows that it is a high-excitation evolved PN with a low electron density of 250 cm~(-3). Furthermore, we investigate the properties of these nebulae from their spectral energy distributions(SEDs) by means of archival data.  相似文献

The collapse of iron-oxygen stars with masses of 2M has been calculated. The commencement of the collapse is due to dissociation of iron-group nuclei into free nucleons. After a while, the collapse proceeds in consequence of intensive energy losses due to neutrino volume radiation. At an intermediate stage of the collapse, the core — opaque with respect to neutrino radiation (neutrino core) — is formed inside the collapsing star. Both the gradual increase of the mass of the neutrino core and the partial absorption of neutrinos radiated from the surface of the neutrino core by the stellar envelope (deposition) were taken into account in our calculations. The kinetics of oxygen burning in the outer layers of the envelope was also allowed for. Neither the deposition, nor the oxygen burning, result in ejection of stellar envelopes.  相似文献

N2 2P fluorescent intensity was monitored as a function of incident photon energy from 40 to 70 eV. A structure was seen near 52.2 eV. This feature is attributed to the scattering of photoelectrons originating from the N2 2σg molecular orbital with a binding energy of about 37.7 eV. The kinetic energy of these photoelectrons corresponds to the peak of the 2P excitation cross section at 14.5 eV.  相似文献

We predict the amount of cometary, interplanetary, and interstellar cosmic dust that is to be measured by the Cometary and Interstellar Dust Analyzer (CIDA) and the aerogel collector on board the Stardust spacecraft during its fly-by of comet P⧸Wild 2 and during the interplanetary cruise phase. We give the dust flux on the spacecraft during the encounter with the comet using both, a radially symmetric and an axially symmetric coma model. At closest approach, we predict a total dust flux of 1060 m−2 s−1 for the radially symmetric case and 1065 m−2 s−1 for the axially symmetric case. This prediction is based on an observation of the comet at a heliocentric distance of 1.7 AU. We reproduce the measurements of the Giotto and VEGA missions to comet P⧸Halley using the same model as for the Stardust predictions. The planned measurements of interstellar dust by Stardust have been triggered by the discovery of interstellar dust impacts in the data collected by the Ulysses and Galileo dust detector. Using the Ulysses and Galileo measurements we predict that 25 interstellar particles, mainly with masses of about 10−12 g, will hit the target of the CIDA experiment. The interstellar side of the aerogel collector will contain 120 interstellar particles, 40 of which with sizes greater than 1 μm. Furthermore, we investigate the contamination of the CIDA and collector measurements by interplanetary particles during the cruise phase.  相似文献

We build a sample of 298 spectroscopically-confirmed galaxies at redshift z - 2, selected in the z850-band from the GOODS-MUSIC catalog. By utilizing the rest frame 8 p.m luminosity as a proxy of the star formation rate (SFR), we check the accuracy of the standard SED-fitting technique, finding it is not accurate enough to provide reliable estimates of the physical parameters of galaxies. We then develop a new SED-fitting method that includes the IR luminosity as a prior and a generalized Calzetti law with a variable Rv. Then we exploit the new method to re-analyze our galaxy sample, and to robustly determine SFRs, stellar masses and ages. We find that there is a general trend of increasing attenuation with the SFR. Moreover, we find that the SFRs range between a few to 103 M~ yr-1, the masses from 109 to 4 ~ 1011 Mo, and the ages from a few tens of Myr to more than 1 Gyr. We discuss how individual age measurements of highly attenuated objects indicate that dust must have formed within a few tens of Myr and already been copious at 〈 100 Myr. In addition, we find that low luminosity galaxies harbor, on average, significantly older stellar populations and are also less massive than brighter ones; we discuss how these findings and the well known 'downsizing' scenario are consistent in a framework where less massive galaxies form first, but their star formation lasts longer. Finally, we find that the near-IR attenuation is not scarce for luminous objects, contrary to what is customarily assumed; we discuss how this affects the interpretation of the observed M,/L ratios.  相似文献

We numerically study the bifurcations of two nonlinear maps, with the same linear part, which depend on a parameter namely the Hénon quadratic map and the so called beam-beam map. Many families of periodic orbits which bifurcate from the central family, are studied. Each family undergoes a sequence of period doubling bifurcations in the quadratic map, But the behavior of the beam-beam map is completely different. Inverse bifurcations occur in both maps. But some families of the same type which bifurcate inversely in the quadratic map do not bifurcate inversely in the beam-beam map, even though both maps have common linear part.  相似文献
