We find new classes of exact solutions to the Einstein field equations where the matter distribution satisfies a generalized polytropic equation of state. The matter distribution is uncharged with anisotropic pressures. Equations of state for polytropes and quark matter are contained as special cases. The matter variables and metric potentials can be obtained explicitly. Known solutions, for the choice of the gravitational potential made in this analysis, arise as special cases for particular choice of the equation of state parameters. A detailed physical analysis indicates that the model is well behaved.  相似文献

Astrophysical compact stars provide a natural laboratory for testing theoretical models which are otherwise difficult to prove from an experimental setup. In our present work we analyse an exact solution to the Einstein-Maxwell system for a charged anisotropic compact body in the linear regime. The charged parameter may be set to zero which gives us the case of neutral solutions. We have tuned the model parameters for the uncharged case so as to match with recent updated mass-radius estimates for five different compact objects. Then we make a systematic study of the effect of charge for the different parameter set that fits the observed stars. The effect of charge is clearly illustrated in the increase of mass. We show that the physical quantities for the objects PSR J1614-2230, PSR J1903+327, Vela X-1, SMC X-1, Cen X-3 are well behaved.  相似文献

Studying relativistic compact objects is important in modern astrophysics to understand several astrophysical issues. It is therefore natural to ask for an internal structure and physical properties of specific classes of compact stars from astrophysical observations. We obtain a class of new relativistic solutions with anisotropic distribution of matter for compact stars. More specifically, stellar models, described by an anisotropic fluid, establishing a relation between metric potentials and generating a specific form of mass function, are explicitly constructed within the framework of General Relativity. New solutions can be used to model compact objects, which adequately describe compact strange star candidates like SMC X-1, Her X-1 and 4U 1538-52, with observational data taken from Gangopadhyay et al. (Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc. 431:3216, 2013). As a possible astrophysical application the obtained solutions could explain the physics of selfgravitating objects, and might be useful for strong-field regimes where data are currently inadequate.  相似文献

A special law of variation for Hubble’s parameter is presented in a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I space-time that yields a constant value of deceleration parameter. Using the law of variation for Hubble’s parameter, exact solutions of Einstein’s field equations are obtained for Bianchi-I space-time filled with perfect fluid in two different cases where the universe exhibits power-law and exponential expansion. It is found that the solutions are consistent with the recent observations of type Ia supernovae. A detailed study of physical and kinematical properties of the models is carried out.  相似文献

In this paper, we study anisotropic compact stars with static cylindrically symmetric anisotropic matter distribution satisfying polytropic equation of state. We formulate the field equations as well as the corresponding mass function for the particular form of gravitational potential \(z(x)=(1+bx)^{\eta }~(\eta =1,~2,~3)\) and explore exact solutions of the field equations for different values of the polytropic index. The values of arbitrary constants are determined by taking mass and radius of compact star (Her X-1). We find that resulting solutions show viable behavior of physical parameters (density, radial as well as tangential pressure, anisotropy) and satisfy the stability condition. It is concluded that physically acceptable solutions exist only for \(\eta =1,~2\).  相似文献

We revisit the problem of the maximum masses of magnetized white dwarfs(WDs).The impact of a strong magnetic field on the structure equations is addressed. The pressures become anisotropic due to the presence of the magnetic field and split into parallel and perpendicular components. We first construct stable solutions of the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations for parallel pressures and find that physical solutions vanish for the perpendicular pressure when B(?) 10~(13) G.This fact establishes an upper bound for a magnetic field and the stability of the configurations in the(quasi) spherical approximation. Our findings also indicate that it is not possible to obtain stable magnetized WDs with super-Chandrasekhar masses because the values of the magnetic field needed for them are higher than this bound. To proceed into the anisotropic regime,we can apply results for structure equations appropriate for a cylindrical metric with anisotropic pressures that were derived in our previous work. From the solutions of the structure equations in cylindrical symmetry we have confirmed the same bound for B ~ 10~(13) G,since beyond this value no physical solutions are possible. Our tentative conclusion is that massive WDs with masses well beyond the Chandrasekhar limit do not constitute stable solutions and should not exist.  相似文献

This paper concentrates on four key tools for performing star cluster simulations developed during the last decade which are sufficient to handle all the relevant dynamical aspects. First we discuss briefly the Hermite integration scheme which is simple to use and highly efficient for advancing the single particles. The main numerical challenge is in dealing with weakly and strongly perturbed hard binaries. A new treatment of the classical Kustaanheimo-Stiefel two-body regularization has proved to be more accurate for studying binaries than previous algorithms based on divided differences or Hermite integration. This formulation employs a Taylor series expansion combined with the Stumpff functions, still with one force evaluation per step, which gives exact solutions for unperturbed motion and is at least comparable to the polynomial methods for large perturbations. Strong interactions between hard binaries and single stars or other binaries are studied by chain regularization which ensures a non-biased outcome for chaotic motions. A new semi-analytical stability criterion for hierarchical systems has been adopted and the long-term effects on the inner binary are now treated by averaging techniques for cases of interest. These modifications describe consistent changes of the orbital variables due to large Kozai cycles and tidal dissipation. The range of astrophysical processes which can now be considered by N-body simulations include tidal capture, circularization, mass transfer by Roche-lobe overflow as well as physical collisions, where the masses and radii of individual stars are modelled by synthetic stellar evolution. We discuss the Bianchi type I model with perfect fluid as matter content in f(R,T) gravity, where R is the Ricci scalar and T is the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. We obtain exact solutions of the field equations employing the anisotropic feature of spacetime for two expansion laws namely exponential and power expansions. The physical and kinematical quantities are examined for both cases in future evolution of the universe. We also explore the validity of null energy condition and conclude that our solutions are consistent with the current observations.  相似文献

In this paper, we present two new exact and analytic solutions of the Einstein–Maxwell field equations describing compact anisotropic charged stars satisfying the Karmarkar condition in the background of Bardeen black hole geometry. The solutions are composed of two parts: The inner region of the star is described by class I Karmarkar space-time, while exterior of the star is characterized by both the Bardeen and the Reissner–Nordstrom space-times. Physical analysis of the matter and thermodynamical variables show that the models are well-behaved. For our parametric set of values, we conclude that the Bardeen black hole metric can be used as an alternate to the exterior Reissner–Nordstrom metric.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of role of particle creation and bulk viscosity on evolution of homogeneous and anisotropic model of the universe represented by Bianchi type I space time metric. Particle creation and bulk viscosity have been considered as separated irreversible processes. In order to discuss physical and geometrical behaviour of the model, a new set of exact solutions of Einstein’s field equation have been obtained in non-causal, truncated and full causal theories. Dynamical behaviours of models have also been discussed.  相似文献

HR 6046 has long been known as a single-lined binary system, for which preliminary orbital solutions were given in the 1930s, but the nature of the secondary star in the system has to date appeared puzzling. The rather large masses which the component stars were once believed to possess caused much speculation that the secondary was a 'collapsed star', and the large mass function that was originally published encouraged determined, but unsuccessful, efforts to be made to resolve the system by optical interferometry. We have observed the system as a double-lined binary, and now present the orbit. We are unable to specify the exact nature of the secondary star, whose mass is only slightly less than that of the primary, but comparison with late-type standard spectra suggests that it is an evolved star, while the primary is a giant somewhat cooler than the published spectral type indicates. The Hipparcos parallax is consistent with such a model for the system, but it is possible that it is vitiated by the photocentric motion. Our new orbital elements and their improved level of precision show conclusively that the system is by no means as exotic as was once thought.  相似文献

The physical parameters of both the components of fifteen symbiotic stars have been estimated statistically. Data obtained are compared with data available in the literature from photometric and spectroscopic observations. It is found that the mass-radius relations for close binary systems can be applicable for the giant and accreting main-sequence components of symbiotic binaries. Amass-radius relation for the white dwarf components is derived from the linear variation of masses and radii data obtained from observation. These statistical relations can be used to get a rough estimate of masses and radii of the components of symbiotic stars. A list of selected binary stars is presented that have been observed for several decades using a 26-inch refractor at the Pulkovo Observatory. These stars are at a distance from 3.5 to 25 pc from the Sun. They belong to spectral classes F, G, K, and M. Their masses range from 0.3 to 1.5 solar masses. We have analyzed them as possible parent stars for exoplanets taking into account the physical characteristics of these stars. In view of dynamic parameters and orbital elements that we have obtained by Pulkovo observations, ephemerides of positions for the coming years are calculated. The boundaries of the habitable zones around these stars are calculated. The astrometric signal that depends on the gravitational influence of hypothetical planets is estimated. Space telescopes for astrometric observations with microsecond accuracy can be used to detect Earth-like planets near the closest stars of this program. This paper presents an overview of astrometric programs of searches for exoplanets.  相似文献

Kantowski-Sachs cosmological model in the presence of magnetized anisotropic dark energy is investigated. The energy-momentum tensor consists of anisotropic fluid with anisotropic EoS p=ωρ and a uniform magnetic field of energy density ρ B . We obtain exact solutions to the field equations using the condition that expansion is proportional to the shear scalar. The physical behavior of the model is discussed with and without magnetic field. We conclude that universe model as well as anisotropic fluid does not approach isotropy through the evolution of the universe.  相似文献

We analyze the photometric and spectroscopic observations of the young pre-cataclysmic variable (pre-CV) V477 Lyr. The masses of both binary components have been corrected by analyzing their radial velocity curves. We show that agreement between the theoretical and observed light curves of the object is possible for several sets of its physical parameters corresponding to the chosen temperature of the primary component. The final parameters of V477 Lyr have been established by comparing observational data with evolutionary tracks for planetary nebula nuclei. The derived effective temperature of the O subdwarf is higher than that estimated by analyzing the object’s ultraviolet spectra by more than 10000 K. This is in agreement with the analogous results obtained previously for the young pre-CVs V664 Cas and UU Sge. The secondary component of V477 Lyr has been proven to have a more than 25-fold luminosity excess compared to main-sequence stars of similar mass. Comparison of the physical parameters for the cool stars in young pre-CVs indicates that their luminosities do not correlate with the masses of the objects. The observed luminosity excesses in such stars show a close correlation with the post-common-envelope lifetime of the systems and should be investigated within the framework of the theory of their relaxation to the state of main-sequence stars.  相似文献

As a generalization of the King's widely-used model for a spherical stellar system containing stars of identical masses, a two-component model of an equilibrium stellar system consisting of stars of two different masses is built proceeding from a proper generalization of the distribution function. In such a system, the principle of thermal equilibrium, generally speaking, does not hold, i.e. equipartition of mean kinetic energy between light and heavy stars is absent. The radial distribution of partial density and velocity dispersion for each of the components and of the total density and velocity dispersion is obtained. The profiles of both the total density and velocity dispersion differ considerably from those given by the King's one-component model, especially in the centre of the system. In particular, the velocity dispersion of stars may there have a non-monotonous behaviour. The possibility of applying the many-component model for the explanation of the recently discovered luminosity cusps in the central regions of some elliptical galaxies is briefly discussed.  相似文献

We present a simple physical mechanism that can account for the observed stellar mass spectrum for masses M ∗≳0.5 M . The model depends solely on the competitive accretion that occurs in stellar clusters where each star's accretion rate depends on the local gas density and the square of the accretion radius. In a stellar cluster, there are two different regimes depending on whether the gas or the stars dominate the gravitational potential. When the cluster is dominated by cold gas, the accretion radius is given by a tidal-lobe radius. This occurs as the cluster collapses towards a ρ  ∝  R −2 distribution. Accretion in this regime results in a mass spectrum with an asymptotic limit of γ =−3/2 (where Salpeter is γ =−2.35) . Once the stars dominate the potential and are virialized, which occurs first in the cluster core, the accretion radius is the Bondi–Hoyle radius. The resultant mass spectrum has an asymptotic limit of γ =−2 with slightly steeper slopes ( γ ≈−2.5) if the stars are already mass-segregated. Simulations of accretion on to clusters containing 1000 stars show that, as expected, the low-mass stars accumulate the majority of their masses during the gas-dominated phase whereas the high-mass stars accumulate the majority of their masses during the stellar-dominated phase. This results in a mass spectrum with a relatively shallow γ ≈3/2 power law for low-mass stars and a steeper power law for high-mass stars −2.5≲ γ ≤−2 . This competitive accretion model also results in a mass-segregated cluster.  相似文献

We analyse the angular momentum evolution from the red giant branch (RGB) to the horizontal branch (HB) and along the HB. Using rotation velocities for stars in the globular cluster M13, we find that the required angular momentum for the fast rotators is up to 1–3 orders of magnitude (depending on some assumptions) larger than that of the Sun. Planets of masses up to 5 times Jupiter's mass and up to an initial orbital separation of ~2 au are sufficient to spin-up the RGB progenitors of most of these fast rotators. Other stars have been spun-up by brown dwarfs or low-mass main-sequence stars. Our results show that the fast rotating HB stars have been probably spun-up by planets, brown dwarfs or low-mass main-sequence stars while they evolved on the RGB. We argue that the angular momentum considerations presented in this paper further support the 'planet second parameter' model. In this model, the 'second parameter' process, which determines the distribution of stars on the HB, is interaction with low-mass companions, in most cases with gas-giant planets, and in a minority of cases with brown dwarfs or low-mass main-sequence stars. The masses and initial orbital separations of the planets (or brown dwarfs or low-mass main-sequence stars) form a rich spectrum of different physical parameters, which manifests itself in the rich varieties of HB morphologies observed in the different globular clusters.  相似文献
