In structural mechanics there are several occasions where a linearized formulation of the original non‐linear problem reduces considerably the computational effort for the response analysis. In a broader sense, a linearized formulation can be viewed as a first‐order expansion of the dynamic equilibrium of the system about a ‘static’ configuration; yet caution should be exercised when identifying the ‘correct’ static configuration. This paper uses as a case study the rocking response of a rigid block stepping on viscoelastic supports, whose non‐linear dynamics is the subject of the companion paper, and elaborates on the challenge of identifying the most appropriate static configuration around which a first‐order expansion will produce the most dependable results in each regime of motion. For the regime when the heel of the block separates, a revised set of linearized equations is presented, which is an improvement to the unconservative equations published previously in the literature. The associated eigenvalues demonstrate that the characteristics of the foundation do not affect the rocking motion of the block once the heel separates. The development of offshore wind energy has started to take place surprisingly quickly, especially in North European waters. This has taken the wind energy industry out of the territory of planning systems that usually govern the siting of wind farms on land, and into the world of departmental, sectoral regulation of marine activities. Although this has favoured the expansion of offshore wind energy in some respects, evidence suggests that the practice and principles of spatial planning can make an important contribution to the proper consideration of proposals for offshore wind arrays. This is especially so when a strategic planning process is put in place for marine areas, in which offshore wind is treated as part of the overall configuration of marine interests, so that adjustments can be made in the interests of wind energy. The current process of marine planning in the Netherlands is described as an illustration of this.  相似文献

砂岩的热开裂研究具有广泛的工程背景,本文实时在线观察和研究了不同温度作用下平顶山砂岩的热开裂:温度低于150℃时,砂岩几乎不发生热开裂;温度从150℃升高到300℃过程中大量的热开裂发生.而不同的矿物成分发生热开裂的阈值温度不完全相同,因此热开裂的阈值温度或者阈值温度范围只具有统计意义.砂岩热开裂主要与矿物成分的热学与力学性质有关,除了受到矿物热膨胀不匹配及热膨胀各向异性的影响,更重要的还受到矿物颗粒形状的影响,如热开裂多发生在矿物颗粒的短轴方向、优势结晶取向、颗粒奇异界面等,且热开裂的分布具有随机性.实验还观察到砂岩表面微缺陷发生闭合的全过程,在冷却过程也有微裂纹形成等现象.  相似文献

Data from Equator-S and Geotail are used to study the dynamics of the plasma sheet observed during a substorm with multiple intensifications on 25 April 1998, when both spacecraft were located in the early morning sector (03–04 MLT) at a radial distance of 10–11 RE. In association with the onset of a poleward expansion of the aurora and the westward electrojet in the premidnight and midnight sector, both satellites in the morning sector observed plasma sheet thinning and changes toward a more tail-like field configuration. During the subsequent poleward expansion in a wider local time sector (20−04 MLT), on the other hand, the magnetic field configuration at both satellites changed into a more dipolar configuration and both satellites encountered again the hot plasma sheet. High-speed plasma flows with velocities of up to 600 km/s and lasting 2–5 min were observed in the plasma sheet and near its boundary during this plasma sheet expansion. These high-speed flows included significant dawn-dusk flows and had a shear structure. They may have been produced by an induced electric field at the local dipolarization region and/or by an enhanced pressure gradient associated with the injection in the midnight plasma sheet.  相似文献

地震数据处理通常假定反射数据仅由一次波组成,地震勘探资料中的表面多次波通常被视为相干噪音予以压制.基于波动方程预测的反馈迭代法为数据驱动的方法,可有效压制复杂地下介质的表面多次波,通常可由级数展开法和迭代法两种方法实现.文中分别从理论阐述以及应用效果分析方面对基于波动方程预测的反馈迭代法的两种实现途径进行研究,并采用GPU/CPU协同并行加速计算预测表面多次波,改善以往CPU计算效率低的状况.文中对含表面多次波的炮数据和复杂的SMAART模型进行了计算,并将利用级数展开法与迭代法压制表面多次波的效果进行对比分析,结果表明,迭代形式反馈迭代法压制表面多次波的方法效果更佳.由于实现迭代法和级数展开法需要完成的自适应匹配相减的次数不同,迭代法的计算成本略高于级数展开法.  相似文献

The equation describing the ensemble-average solute concentration in a heterogeneous porous media can be developed from the Lagrangian (stochastic–convective) approach and from a method that uses a renormalized cumulant expansion. These two approaches are compared for the case of steady flow, and it is shown that they are related. The cumulant expansion approach can be interpreted as a series expansion of the convolution path integral that defines the ensemble-average concentration in the Lagrangian approach. The two methods can be used independently to develop the classical form for the convection–dispersion equation, and are shown to lead to identical transport equations under certain simplifying assumptions. In the development of such transport equations, the cumulant expansion does not require a priori the assumption of any particular distribution for the Lagrangian displacements or velocity field, and does not require one to approximate trajectories with their ensemble-average. In order to obtain a second-order equation, the cumulant expansion method does require truncation of a series, but this truncation is done rationally by the development of a constraint in terms of parameters of the transport field. This constraint is less demanding than requiring that the distribution for the Lagrangian displacements be strictly Gaussian, and it indicates under what velocity field conditions a second-order transport equation is a reasonable approximation.  相似文献

Expansion joints are used as a special connection equipment between adjacent buildings to accommodate the relative motions generated by wind, thermal, or earthquake loads, but they often exhibit damage during severe earthquakes. The level of damage and safety factors required to avoid loss of function are not well considered in current design practices. The objective of this paper is to provide quantitative information on the seismic damage probability of common expansion joints and the associated repair costs. The designer and engineer can refer to this information as a basis for decision making in the selection of expansion joints. Four common types of expansion joints are considered: high- and standard-performance floor and wall expansion joints, whose damage states have been evaluated recently by the authors through shaking table tests. First, the fragility functions of expansion joints for seven damage patterns are developed utilizing the test results. Next, the vulnerability of expansion joints installed between adjacent building models is assessed via incremental dynamic analysis. The recommended level of safety factor to ensure the function of expansion joints is discussed. Finally, a procedure for cost-effective selection of expansion joints is introduced, where case studies are examined using buildings with different characteristics. The presented results are deemed to be beneficial for improving the design practice of expansion joints and for reducing future seismic loss.  相似文献

The gravitational potential of the Earth is usually modeled by means of a series expansion in terms of spherical harmonics. However, the computation of the series coefficients requires preferably homogeneous distributed global data sets. Since one of the most important features of wavelet functions is the ability to localize both in the spatial and in the frequency domain, regional and local structures may be modeled by means of a spherical wavelet expansion. In general, applying wavelet theory a given input data set is decomposed into a certain number of frequency-dependent detail signals, which can be interpreted as the building blocks of a multi-resolution representation. On the other hand, there is no doubt that the low-frequency part of the geopotential can be modeled appropriately by means of spherical harmonics. Hence, the main idea of this paper is to derive a combined model consisting of an expansion in spherical harmonics for the low-frequency part and an expansion in spherical wavelets for the remaining medium and high-frequency parts of the gravity field. Furthermore, an appropriate parameter estimation procedure is outlined to solve for the unknown model coefficients.  相似文献

When a seismic source is placed in the water at a height less than a wavelength from the water–solid interface, a prominent S‐wave arrival can be observed. It travels kinematically as if it was excited at the projection point of the source on the interface. This non‐geometric S‐wave has been investigated before, mainly for a free‐surface configuration. However, as was shown in a field experiment, the non‐geometric S‐wave can also be excited at a fluid–solid configuration if the S‐wave speed in the solid is less than the sound speed in the water. The amplitude of this wave exponentially decreases when the source is moved away from the interface revealing its evanescent character in the fluid. In the solid, this particular converted mode is propagating as an ordinary S‐wave and can be transmitted and reflected as such. There is a specific region of horizontal slownesses where this non‐geometric wave exists, depending on the ratio of the S‐wave velocity and the sound speed of water. Only for ratios smaller than 1, this wave appears. Lower ratios result in a wider region of appearance. Due to this property, this particular P‐S converted mode can be identified and filtered from other events in the Radon domain.  相似文献

The technique of digital linear filtering is used for transformation of apparent resistivity data from one electrode configuration into another. Usually filter spectra are determined via the discrete Fourier transforms of input and output functions: the filter characteristic is the quotient of the spectra of the output function and input function. In this paper, the transformation of the apparent resistivities is presented for four electrode configurations (Wenner, the two-electrode, Schlumberger, and dipole configurations). In our method, there is no need to use the discrete Fourier transform of the input and output functions in order to determine the filter spectrum for converting apparent resistivity in one electrode configuration to any other configuration. Sine responses for determination of the derivative of apparent resistivities are given in analytical form. If the filter spectrum for converting the apparent resistivity to the resistivity transform for one electrode configuration is known, the filter spectra for transforming the apparent resistivity to the resistivity transform for any electrode configurations can be calculated by using newly derived expressions.  相似文献

目的是研究额、筛窦粘液囊肿X线和CT表现,并探讨其在诊断鼻窦粘液囊肿方面的价值。方法粘液囊肿患者12例,共15个粘液囊肿,所有患者都行X线平片检查和CT检查,结合手术对照分析额、筛窦粘液囊肿的X线和CT表现。结果 9个粘液囊肿发生于筛窦, 6个粘液囊肿发生于额窦。 X线表现: 15 个粘液囊肿都表现为窦腔透亮度的减低,不同程度的窦腔扩大,骨质变薄及窦壁骨质的吸收、破坏。CT表现:11个粘液囊肿表现为低密度,3个表现为等密度,1个表现为高密度(同面部肌肉密度相比)。4例行CT增强扫描,3例显示囊肿周边粘膜环行强化而中央无强化。15个粘液囊肿均表现为不同程度的窦腔膨大、骨质变薄,囊肿轮廓光滑完整,其中9个粘液囊肿可清晰显示骨质的吸收、破坏,囊肿突入到邻近结构。结论是CT检查能准确、全面显示鼻窦粘液囊肿的骨质改变,又能显示其特征性影像表现,对于粘液囊肿的诊断和鉴别有重要意义。  相似文献

A method is proposed for the inversion of marine vertical electric sounding (VES) data in a tomographic approximation. A 2.5-D inversion is based on the correlational similarity method; this method is a natural stabilizer of the solution and provides the most compact image of an anomaly carrier. The algorithm possesses a high convergence rate. The inversion reduces to the expansion of anomalous stresses in orthogonal reference functions that are spatial focusing coefficients of a VES configuration. The coefficients were calculated with the help of a new method of contracting mappings allowing one to construct efficient algorithms for calculating electromagnetic fields on a dense spatial grid. Results of experimental in situ data inversion refined the morphology of deep-sea polymetallic sulfides of the Logachev-1 orefield in the Atlantic Ocean.  相似文献

Cachar area, a part of the Assam–Arakan frontal fold belt in the eastern part of India is characterized by a series of narrow anticlines which are dissected by a number of faults including thrusts, and broad synclines. Out of several exposed structures, Badarpur anticline is most important because of its major share of hydrocarbon strikes in Cachar. However, the seismic image of this area so far has been extremely poor for deciding locations for exploratory drilling. The problems in obtaining a good seismic image in this area include proper spread configuration including far and near offsets to capture reflected signals from the complex subsurface, variation of charge-sizes and depths along a line, large variation in statics due to rapid changes in elevation and near surface properties. The presence of coherent noise due to scattering and proper migration are major processing problems. This paper deals with the problem of spread configuration. For areas of complex subsurface, spread configuration obtained through field experiment at one spot may be quite different from other spots, requiring a large number of costly experiments. In this work, therefore, we used numerical modeling to derive an optimum spread configuration. For this, we chose a line passing through four wells on Badarpur anticline, and prepared a depth model using available seismic, surface geological and well data. Continuous synthetic common shot records were generated through oblique incidence ray tracing and were processed to obtain stacks with various spread configurations. Comparison of these stacks of synthetic data shows that end-on shooting configuration is inadequate for acquiring a good seismic image of the complex subsurface. From the present study it is evident that a split–spread configuration with near and far offsets of 50 m and 2400 m, respectively, can bring out optimum seismic images in Badarpur and other anticlines in this area.  相似文献

The laboratory-scale ground water transport equation with nonequilibrium sorption reaction subjected to unsteady, nondivergence-free, and nonstationary velocity fields is up-scaled to the field-scale by using the ensemble-averaged equations obtained from the cumulant expansion ensemble-averaging method. It is found that existing ensemble-averaged equations obtained with the help of the cumulant expansion method for the system of linear partial differential equations are not second-order exact. Although the cumulant expansion methodology is designed for noncommuting operators, it is found that there are still commudativity requirements that need to be satisfied by the functions and constants exist in the coefficient matrix of the system of ordinary/partial differential equations. A reversibility requirement, which covers the commudativity requirements, is also proposed when applying the cumulant expansion method to a system of partial differential equations/a partial differential equation. The significance of the new velocity correction obtained in this study due to the applied second-order exact cumulant expansion is investigated on a numerical example with a linear trend in the distribution coefficient. It is found that the effect of the new velocity correction can be significant enough to affect the maximum concentration values and the plume center of mass in the case of a trending distribution coefficient in a physically heterogeneous environment.  相似文献

The effects of hanger replacement from inclined to vertical configuration on seismic response of long-span suspension bridges are investigated considering multi-support earthquake excitation. The Bosphorus Bridge is investigated due to its recent comprehensive rehabilitation, mainly involving hanger replacement. The finite-fault stochastic simulation method (FINSIM) is utilized for multi-point earthquake time-history generation. The developed finite element (FE) model both for the inclined and vertical hanger arrangement are verified through the structural health monitoring (SHM) data. Based on the comparative analysis, the tension force of vertical hangers is found to be lower than that of inclined hangers, whereas the tension force of the main and back-stay cables remains the same. The compressive axial force of the deck decreases relatively in the case of the vertical hanger arrangement, whereas the cross-sectional forces at the tower base section increase. The approach viaducts are not affected by the vertical hanger arrangement. According to the demand/capacity ratios for damage estimation under the max. earthquake (2475 years return period), structural damage on the tower base section may be expected for both hanger arrangements, while these sections perform well under design scenario earthquake. The expansion joint of the bridge with inclined hangers is also estimated to be damaged; however, this displacement is lower in the case of the vertical hanger arrangement due to the viscous dampers. The findings also reveal that a change in hanger form of a suspension bridge can necessitate other structural retrofit, such as using viscous dampers to limit longitudinal displacements of the deck and retrofitting the bridge towers.  相似文献

为了研究探测3D导电岩脉状目标体的可控源音频电磁法(CSAMT)的最佳观测装置,我们用压缩积分方程法数值模拟了赋存于导电薄层下的3D导电岩脉的电磁场响应.计算结果表明,最有效的源的位置是把发射源沿岩脉的走向放置.相对于其他几种装置,这种观测装置得到的异常场与主场的比值最大.利用这种最佳的观测装置,通过将异常场Eya 和 Hxa与噪音作对比,研究了当岩脉的埋深和高度发生变化时岩脉的可探测性问题.当岩脉的顶部埋深增加时,导电岩脉的可探测性降低.岩脉高度的变化对异常场幅值的影响要小于岩脉顶部埋深所产生的影响.所以通常情况下,即便应用了最有效的CSAMT装置,也很难探测到岩脉的高度,应用钻孔中的探测可能会解决这个问题.  相似文献

Geoelectrical profiling with multi-electrode systems has become an important tool for monitoring dike embankments bordering rivers. Profiles running perpendicular to the dike axis are affected by the dike topography, with the amplitude of this effect dependent on the surface geometry and the choice of the electrode configuration. Investigations using seven different electrode configurations have shown that some configurations are less sensitive to the topography than others.The topography correction method (TCM) is an important tool for processing data from measurements at river dikes. This method is generally recommended for flank angles steeper than 10°. The topography effect is calculated by two-dimensional finite element modelling. The resulting synthetic data of a homogeneous dike body are used to apply a topographic correction for each measurement.The topographic effect and correction procedure is demonstrated for synthetic dike data and for a data set from a river dike in Thai Binh province (Vietnam). The topography can be ignored for flank angles less than 25° if an averaged Half-Wenner electrode configuration is used. This configuration has proved to be less affected by undulated topography and the focusing effect of averaging the two data sets provides reliable structural information without the need for time-consuming data inversion.  相似文献
