Generation of quasielastic electron-acoustic (EA) waves head-on collision are investigated in non-planar (cylindrical/spherical) plasma composed of cold electrons fluid, hot electrons obeying nonthermal distribution, and stationary ions. The cylindrical/spherical Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations describing two bidirectional EA waves are derived and solved analytically. Numerical investigation have shown that only positive electron-acoustic (EA) structures can propagate and collide. The analytical phase shift |Δ A | due to the non-Maxwellian (nonthermal) electrons is different from the Maxwellian case. Both the hot-to-cold electron number density ratio α and nonthermal parameter β have opposite effect on the phase shift behavior. The phase shift of the spherical EA waves is smaller than the cylindrical case, which indicates that the former is more stable for collision. The relevance of the present study to EA waves propagating in the Earth’s auroral zone is highlighted.  相似文献

Ion acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with superthermal (kappa distributed) cool and hot electrons have been investigated using non-perturbative approach. We have transformed basic model equations to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. Then we have applied the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained equation and we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. We have derived two exact solutions of solitary and periodic waves depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, we have shown the effects of density ratio p of cool electrons and ions, spectral index κ, and temperature ratio σ of cool electrons and hot electrons on characteristics of ion acoustic solitary and periodic waves.  相似文献

A theoretical investigation has been made on the head-on collision of cylindrical and spherical electron-acoustic solitary waves in a non-Maxwellian plasma composed of stationary ions, cold fluid electrons, and superthermal electrons obeying κ velocity distribution. By using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo perturbation method, the effects of plasma parameters, especially the superthermal effect on the interaction of colliding solitary waves are studied. It is found that there are both positive and negative colliding phase shifts for each colliding wave in its traveling direction. Also, it is shown that the solitary waves received the largest colliding phase shifts in spherical geometry, followed by the cylindrical and planar geometries.  相似文献

Arbitrary amplitude electron acoustic (EA) solitary waves in a magnetized nonextensive plasma comprising of cool fluid electrons, hot nonextensive electrons, and immobile ions are investigated. The linear dispersion properties of EA waves are discussed. We find that the electron nonextensivity reduces the phase velocities of both modes in the linear regime: similarly the nonextensive electron population leads to decrease of the EA wave frequency. The Sagdeev pseudopotential analysis shows that an energy-like equation describes the nonlinear evolution of EA solitary waves in the present model. The effects of the obliqueness, electron nonextensivity, hot electron temperature, and electron population are incorporated in the study of the existence domain of solitary waves and the soliton characteristics. It is shown that the boundary values of the permitted Mach number decreases with the nonextensive electron population, as well as with the electron nonextensivity index, q. It is also found that an increase in the electron nonextensivity index results in an increase of the soliton amplitude. A comparison with the Vikong Satellite observations in the dayside auroral zone is also taken into account.  相似文献

A reductive perturbation technique is employed to solve the fluid-Poisson equations in spherical geometry describing a weakly nonlinear electron–acoustic (EA) waves in unmagnetized plasma consisting of stationary ions, cold electrons and kappa distributed hot electrons. It is shown that a variable coefficient Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) equation governs the evolution of scalar potential describing propagation of EA waves. The influence of suprathermality and geometry effects on propagation of EA solitary waves is investigated. We found that when electrons evolve toward their thermodynamic equilibrium, EA solitons are generated with large amplitudes. Also it is shown that EA solitary structures can be significantly modified by transverse perturbations.  相似文献

A first theoretical work is presented to study the propagation of two-solitons in an electron acoustic waves (EAWs) within the theoretical framework of the Tsallis statistical mechanics. For this purpose, cylindrical and spherical Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations are derived for electron acoustic solitary waves (EASWs) in an unmagnetized three species plasma system comprised of cold electrons, immobile ions and hot electrons featuring Tsallis statistics by employing the standard reductive perturbation method. The effects of electron nonextensivity and the fractional number density of the hot electrons relative to that of the cold ones number density (α) on the profiles of two-soliton structures are investigated numerically. Results would be helpful for understanding the localized structures that may occur in space plasmas.  相似文献

Effects of electron temperature on the propagation of electron acoustic solitary waves in plasma with stationary ions, cold and superthermal hot electrons is investigated in non-planar geometry employing reductive perturbation method. Modified Korteweg–de Vries equation is derived in the small amplitude approximation limit. The analytical and numerical calculations of the KdV equation reveal that the phase velocity of the electron acoustic waves increases as one goes from planar to non planar geometry. It is shown that the electron temperature ratio changes the width and amplitude of the solitary waves and when electron temperature is not taken into account, our results completely agree with the results of Javidan & Pakzad (2012). It is found that at small values of \(\tau \), solitary wave structures behave differently in cylindrical (\(\text {m} = 1\)), spherical (\(\text {m} = 2\)) and planar geometry (\(\text {m} = 0\)) but looks similar at large values of \(\tau \). These results may be useful to understand the solitary wave characteristics in laboratory and space environments where the plasma have multiple temperature electrons.  相似文献

The properties of propagation of small amplitude ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) are studied in a plasma containing cold fluid ions and multi-temperature electrons (cool and hot electrons) with nonextensive distribution. Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation with finite amplitude is derived using a reductive perturbation method. From the solitary solutions of KdV equation, the combined effects of nonextensivity and density ratio are studied on characteristics of ion acoustic (IA) solitary waves. Positive as well as negative polarity solitons exist. Since singularity exists for A=0 so we have also derived modified Korteweg de Vries (mKdV) equation to study the solitonic solution for critical values of physical parameters (q,f,σ). The nonextensivity of electrons (via q) and density ratio of electrons and ions (via f) and temperature ratio (σ) significantly influence the characteristics of ion acoustic solitary structures.  相似文献

The propagation of cylindrical and spherical electron acoustic (EA) shock waves in unmagnetized plasmas consisting of cold fluid electrons, hot electrons obeying a superthermal distribution and stationary ions, has been investigated. The standard reductive perturbation method (RPM) has been employed to derive the cylindrical/spherical Korteweg-de-Vries-Burger (KdVB) equation which governs the dynamics of the EA shock structures. The effects of nonplanar geometry, plasma kinematic viscosity and electron suprathermality on the temporal evolution of the cylindrical and spherical EA shock waves are numerically examined.  相似文献

The formation and propagation of dust-acoustic (DA) solitary and rogue waves are studied in a non-relativistic degenerate Thomas-Fermi thermal dusty plasma incorporating transverse velocity perturbation effects. The electrons and ions are described by the Thomas-Fermi density distributions, whereas the dust grains are taken as dynamic and classical. By using the reductive perturbation technique, the cylindrical Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (CKP) equation is derived, which is then transformed into a Korteweg-deVries (KdV) equation by using appropriate variable transformations. The latter admits a solitary wave solution. However, when the carrier waves frequency is much smaller than the dust plasma frequency, the DA waves evolve into the nonlinear modulation instability, generating modulated wave packets in the form of Rogue waves. For the study of DA-rogue waves, the KdV equation is transformed into a self-focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The variation of dust temperature and the electron density affects the nonlinearity and dispersion coefficients which suppress the amplitudes of the DA solitary and rogue waves. The present results aim to describe the nonlinear electrostatic excitations in astrophysical degenerate dense plasma.  相似文献

The problem of solitary electron acoustic (EA) wave propagation in a plasma with nonthermal hot electrons featuring the Tsallis distribution is addressed. A physically meaningful nonextensive nonthermal velocity distribution is outlined. It is shown that the effect of the nonthermal electron nonextensivity on EA waves can be quite important. Interestingly, we found that the phase speed of the linear EA mode increases as the entropic index q decreases. This enhancement is weak for q>1, and significant for q<1. For a given nonthermal state, the minimum value of the allowable Mach numbers is lowered as the nonextensive nature of the electrons becomes important. This critical limit is shifted towards higher values as the nonthermal character of the plasma is increased. Moreover, our plasma model supports rarefactive EA solitary waves the main quantities of which depend sensitively on q. This dependency (for q>1) becomes less noticeable as the nonthermal parameter decreases. Nevertheless, decreasing α yields for q<0 a different result, a trend which may be attributed to the functional form of the nonthermal nonextensive distribution. Our study (which is not aimed at putting the ad hoc Cairns distribution onto a more rigorous foundation) suggests that a background electron nonextensivity may influence the EA solitons.  相似文献

In the present investigation, Electron acoustic solitons in a plasma consisting of cold electrons, superthermal hot electrons and stationary ions are studied. The basic properties of small but finite amplitude solitary potential structures that may exist in a given plasma system have been investigated theoretically using reductive perturbation technique. It has been found that the profile of electron acoustic solitary wave structures is very sensitive to relative hot electron density, $\alpha(=\frac{n_{h0}}{n_{c0}})$ , temperature of hot to cold electrons, $\theta(=\frac{T_{h}}{T_{c}})$ and the spectral index κ. The implications of the present study may be applied to explain some features of large amplitude localized structures that may occur in the plasma sheet boundary layer.  相似文献

The properties of nonplanar (cylindrical and spherical) ion-acoustic solitary waves (IA SWs) in an unmagnetized, collisionless electron-positron-ion (e-p-i) plasma, whose constituents are q-distributed electrons and positrons and inertial ions, are investigated by deriving the modified Gardner (MG) equation. The well known reductive perturbation method is employed to derive the MG equation. The basic features of nonplanar IA Gardner solitons (GSs) are discussed. It is found that the properties of nonplanar IA GSs (rarefactive and compressive) are significantly affected by the particle nonextensivity.  相似文献

The problem of arbitrary amplitude electron-acoustic solitary (EAS) waves in a plasma having cold fluid electrons, hot superthermal electrons and stationary ions is addressed. The domain of their allowable Mach numbers enlarges as the spectral index κ increases revealing therefore that the “maxwellisation” process of the hot component favors the propagation of the EAS waves. As the superthermal character of the plasma is increased, the potential pulse amplitude increases while its width is narrowed, i.e, the superthermal effects makes the electron-acoustic solitary structure more spiky. As the spectral index κ decreases, the hot electrons are locally expelled and pushed out of the region of the soliton’s localization. A decrease of the fractional number density of the hot electrons relative to that of the cold ones number density would lead to an increase of the depth as well as the width of the localized EAS wave. Our results should help to understand the salient features of large amplitude localized structures that may occur in the plasma sheet boundary layer and may provide an explanation for the strong spiky waveforms that have been observed in auroral electric fields.  相似文献

Dust-acoustic (DA) solitary waves are investigated in a magnetized dusty plasma comprising cold dust fluid and kappa-distributed ions and/or electrons. The influence of suprathermal particles, obliqueness, and ion temperature on the DA solitary waves is investigated. We find that only negative DA solitary waves will be excited in this model. Also it is shown that the amplitude of the DA solitary wave decreases with deviation of electrons or ions from Maxwellian distribution via decrease of κ e or κ i . The effect of the temperature of the ion decreases with the amplitude and steepness of the solitary wave front.  相似文献

The time fractional modified KdV, the so-called TFMKdV equation is solved to study the nonlinear propagation of the dust acoustic (DA) solitary waves in un-magnetized four components dusty plasma. This plasma consists of positively charged warm adiabatic dust, negatively charged cold dust, non-isothermal electrons and Maxwellian ions. The TFMKdV equation is derived by using semi-inverse and Agrawal’s method and solved by the Laplace Adomian decomposition method (LADM). The effects of the time fractional order (β), the ratio of dust to ion temperature (δ d ), the time (τ), the mass and charge ratio (α), the non-isothermal parameter (γ) and wave velocity (v) on the DA solitary wave are studied. Our results show that the variations of the amplitude of DA solitary wave versus (γ) are in agreement with the results obtained previously. Moreover, the time fractional order plays a role of higher order perturbation in modulating the soliton shape. The achievements of this research for the DA solitary waves may be applicable in space plasma environments and laboratory plasmas.  相似文献

The propagation of nonlinear electron-acoustic waves (EAWs) in an unmagnetized collisionless plasma system consisting of a cold electron fluid, superthermal hot electrons and stationary ions is investigated. A reductive perturbation method is employed to obtain a modified Korteweg–de Vries (mKdV) equation for the first-order potential. The small amplitude electron-acoustic solitary wave, e.g., soliton and double layer (DL) solutions are presented, and the effects of superthermal electrons on the nature of the solitons are also discussed. But the results shows that the weak stationary EA DLs cannot be supported by the present model.  相似文献

The nonlinear wave structures of ion acoustic waves (IAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of nonextensive electrons and thermal positrons are studied in bounded nonplanar geometry. Using reductive perturbation technique we have derived cylindrical and spherical Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers’ (KdVB) equations for IAWs. The presence of nonextensive q-distributed electrons is shown to influence the solitary and shock waves. Furthermore, in the existence of ion kinematic viscosity, the shock wave structure appears. Also, the effects of nonextensivity of electrons, ion kinematic viscosities, positron concentration on the properties of ion acoustic shock waves (IASWs) are discussed in nonplanar geometry. It is found that both compressive and rarefactive type solitons or shock waves are obtained depending on the plasma parameter.  相似文献

By employing the reductive perturbation technique, nonlinear cylindrical and spherical Korteweg–de Vries Burgers (KdVB) equation is derived for ion acoustic shock waves in an unmagnetized electronegative plasma. The latter is composed of warm positive and warm negative ions as well as q-distributed nonextensive electrons. Numerically, the modified KdVB equation is solved to examine the impact of nonthermal electrons on the profiles of nonplanar fast ion acoustic shocks. With the help of experimental parameters, it is found that the variations of different quantities, like q (nonextensive parameter), α (the negative-to-positive ion mass ratio), μ (the electron-to-positive ion density ratio) and θ i (the positive ion-to-electron temperature ratio), η i0,n0 (the positive/negative ion viscosities) significantly modify the propagation characteristics of nonplanar shocks in electronegative plasmas. The relevance to a laboratory experiment is highlighted, where positive and negative ions are present.  相似文献

The nonlinear properties of solitary waves structure in a hot magnetized dusty plasma consisting of a negatively charged, extremely massive hot dust fluid, positively charged hot ion fluid and vortex-like distributed electrons, are reported. A modified Korteweg de Vries equation (mKdV) which admits a solitary wave solution for small but finite amplitude is derived using a reductive perturbation theory. The modifications in the amplitude and width of the solitary wave structures due to the inclusion of an external magnetic field and dust and ions temperature are investigated. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献
