Using the data of CTD observations in the Kuril region of the Pacific Ocean, vertical structures of water masses are analyzed and differentiated using the Turner angle Tu in the layer between the isopycnic surfaces of 26.5 and 26.8 σθ. The former characterizes the core of the cold intermediate layer in the subarctic water structure and the latter, the intermediate salinity minimum in the subtropical water structure. Vertical variations of temperature and salinity in the specified density range for subarctic and subtropical water structures are opposite to each other, and the Turner angle changes the sign from negative to positive when crossing the boundary between them. The isoline Tu = ?45° denotes disappearance of the cold intermediate layer, Tu = 0°, an outcrop of the halocline along with the salinity front formation, and Tu = 45° is the northern boundary of the subtropical water. Obtained are the relationships between the Turner angle and the variations of temperature and salinity within the mentioned layer. Demonstrated are the benefits of the proposed method for localizing the boundaries of the subarctic front as compared with traditional methods.  相似文献

本文选取了7个实例,分析冷锋前浙江大范围冰雹天气的发生条件。大范围冰雹天气发生前,必须具有较大的位势不稳定能和较强的边界层辐合。强的风速垂直切变并不是必要条件。冰雹天气发生前6—12小时,对流层中、下部不一定有大尺度辐合上升。冰雹发生之前,边界层内暖湿空气十分强盛,而中层的冷干空气活动一般并不明显。因此不稳定能的形成主要是由于边界层内暖湿平流的结果。冰雹天气过程的水汽通量散度,与一般暴雨过程不同,前者的水汽辐合几乎全部集中在边界层内。冷锋位置、边界层辐合线、潜在不稳定度和对流不稳定度这四个因子相结合,可能是预报冷锋前有无大范围冰雹天气发生的有效信息。  相似文献

利用客观分析资料和加强观测期资料,对1999年6月发生在我国长江流域的持续性梅雨期降水过程的大尺度环流特征进行了分析,结果表明:(1)1999年梅雨期,我国长江中下游强降水带状分布非常明显,强降水主要发生在长江中下游地区,强降水带呈东西向分布,并且雨带的南北边界非常清楚。(2)在对流层低层,从孟加拉湾来的西风气流和西太平洋副热带高压前缘的东南气流在长江流域维持,为此次强暴雨过程产生和发展提供了有利的大尺度条件。高空急流和低空急流的存在和维持为此次梅雨锋暴雨过程的发生提供了有利的抬升机制,而对流层中低层的中性对流不稳定特征则为持续性暴雨过程的发生提供了有利的不稳定机制。(3)梅雨锋区对流层低层的水汽辐合非常明显,水汽输送主要来自孟加拉湾和西太平洋,同时南海季风槽在向梅雨锋区输送水汽的过程中起到了非常重要的作用,它是热带海洋地区向我国内陆输送水汽的通道。(4)平均纬向风速u对流层高层出现了与高空西风急流与高空东风急流相对应的两个强风速核;径向平均风速v在400 hPa以下层次盛行南风,而在400 hPa以上的高层盛行北风;受两侧下沉气流的制约,梅雨锋降水带南北两侧存在位势不稳定层结中的不稳定能量无法释放,因此没有出现明显的降水。  相似文献

梅雨锋上边界层中尺度扰动涡旋的个例研究   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
运用实况自动站、高时空分辨率的雷达和数值模拟资料,对2009年7月24日的梅雨锋暴雨过程进行了分析,结果表明:(1)锋面南侧的暖区弱降水环境内,近地面的风场会有扰动涡旋出现,随着扰动涡旋趋于稳定和向上发展,降水迅速加强,形成短时暴雨,并伴随有大风出现。(2)偏西气流从边界层开始发展并加强为急 流,在向东推进的过程中逐渐抬升,形成了一支从边界层倾斜入对流层低层的急流轴;而偏南气流与偏北风相遇之后,不仅形成风向的辐合和切变,而且在空间上被抬升,形成了一支斜升入流。(3)在近地面风场的切变和 辐合作用下,锋生与辐合同步加强,边界层内的涡度也逐渐增强,由此带动了扰动的发生发展,扰动涡旋在边界层内率先形成,随后,在急流的东传和抬升影响下,扰动涡旋也逐步向东移动、向上发展。(4)近地面风速的加强、风向的辐合切变导致了扰动涡旋的发生和形成,并逐渐发展,这是边界层中尺度扰动涡旋发生发展的动力 因子。  相似文献

利用Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) 中尺度数值模式, 结合常规观测资料、地面加密自动气象站资料、云迹风等资料较好地模拟了2006年6月10日严重影响浙江的一次强飑线演变过程, 得到了与实况比较接近的飑线中尺度特征, 结果表明: 强对流活动与边界层内的中尺度辐合有密切联系, 除了雷暴出流在其前沿形成的阵风锋外, 还模拟得到了宁波东部地区的中尺度气流辐合线 (简称宁东辐合线); 宁东辐合线呈现出明显的西干东湿、东侧上湿下干和弱的稳定层结特征, 其存在阻挡了边界层顶强不稳定的东传; 在宁东辐合线东侧的山谷地带, 近地面形成一个尺度仅为10~20 km的中尺度垂直闭合环流, 该环流导致地面弱的东风气流又反过来加强了宁东辐合线。当之前已存在的雷暴出流形成的阵风锋辐合线与宁东局地辐合线相遇时, 形成一条新的阵风锋, 边界层之上的湿度显著增强, 强不稳定得到逐步释放, 加剧了对流的爆发, 天气现象进一步加重。  相似文献

利用常规观测资料、自动气象站资料及湖南省岳阳多普勒天气雷达资料对2017年8月13日东洞庭湖水龙卷(简称扁山水龙卷)进行分析。结果表明:高空辐散、中低空低压切变、边界层气旋式辐合与特殊环境共同形成强烈辐合上升流场,3个相继北上的γ中尺度低涡中第2个低涡在上升流场和前后低涡共同作用下,在扁山水域迅速加强形成水龙卷,扁山湖心自动气象站风向风速、气压、能见度等变化较为显著,但仅伴随0.2 mm阵性降水。雷达产品显示:扁山水域强辐合带北部强降水质心低、强风切变低、切变上空水平径向风速小,但整条辐合带无风暴跟踪信息、中气旋和龙卷式涡旋特征;风廓线显示扁山水龙卷形成时边界层0.6 km中气旋与0.3 km近地面辐合流场上下叠加。通过与安徽升金湖水龙卷以及洞庭湖区历史上多次龙卷进行比较,认为低空强烈气旋式辐合流场对水龙卷生消有重要作用,高空大范围辐散与中低空、边界层、地面辐合垂直叠加产生的强烈抬升抽吸作用则是扁山水龙卷的主要成因。  相似文献

利用2002—2014年的TRMM/LIS(Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission/lightning imaging sensor,热带测雨卫星/闪电成像仪)闪电观测数据分析了18°~36°N和70°~160°E范围内闪电尺度和光辐射能空间分布特征,并选取6个区域(区域1~6),探讨09:00—14:00(地方时,下同)和18:00—次日06:00两个时段闪电上述属性的逐月变化和参数分布特征。研究指出:闪电空间尺度和光辐射能在深海最大,次之为近海和陆地,持续时间在中国东部近海最大,次之为深海和陆地。不同闪电属性大值分布区域差异明显,小值则分布在区域1和区域2。多数区域分析时段内闪电空间尺度和光辐射能的逐月变化趋势较一致,陆地上它们与闪电活动逐月变化的反向对应关系较明显。分析时段内闪电时空尺度和光辐射能均呈对数正态分布,陆地闪电各属性值比海洋闪电更向小值方向集中。在LIS观测性能较高的18:00—次日06:00,各区域内闪电持续时间中值为0.18~0.29 s,通道延展距离中值为12~21 km,光辐射能中值为0.11~0.52 J·m-2·sr-1·μm-1。分析时段内闪电空间尺度与光辐射能的相关性明显优于它们与持续时间的相关性。  相似文献

西北太平洋是全球海雾最多的海域,但由于观测资料匮乏,对开阔大洋上海雾形成机理的个例研究很少。2019年9月12—14日,中国北极科考船“向阳红01号”在亲潮延伸体水域捕捉到一次海雾事件。主要利用船载观测数据,分析了海雾形成的物理过程。结果表明,这是一次温带气旋的暖锋和局地海洋锋(海面温度锋)共同影响下的海雾过程。伴随暖锋的偏南气流将暖湿空气向北输送,在亲潮延伸体区,海面空气增湿效应大于增温效应,导致相对湿度不断增加接近饱和。北上暖空气遇到较冷水域上空的冷空气团,向上爬升形成大范围锋面逆温;局地海洋锋强迫出大气边界层内的次级环流,其下沉支使该锋面逆温层底的高度进一步降低,有利于雾滴局限在近海面成雾,雾区出现于暖锋锋面过后局地海洋锋的冷水侧。这项研究明确了海雾形成过程中作为背景环流的大气暖锋与作为局地强迫项的海洋锋的贡献,可为海雾预报提供新的理论支撑。  相似文献

采用具有较高时空分辨率的地面观测资料以及WRF(Weather reasearch and forecasting)模式输出资料,分析了2009年6月29一-30日梅雨锋暴雨过程中两类不同的中尺度对流系统(rnesoscale convective system,MCS)边界层特征及边界层对两类MCS的触发维持机理,重点分析了海平面气压场特征、边界层冷池、干线及其在MCS中的影响。结果表明:两类中尺度对流系统的海平面气压特征存在着明显的差异,对流爆发阶段地面风场存在辐合线,再次激发阶段气压场呈“跷跷板”型的中尺度扰动,即由前置中低压和后置中高压组成,最强的对流带位于中低压和中高压之间的过渡区内;边界层辐合线是第一类中尺度对流系统(MCSl)维持的重要因素;MCSl爆发后边界层冷池生成,冷池前的冷出流与低层环境风产生的强辐合触发了第二类中尺度对流系统(MCS2);存在于中低压和中高压之间的中尺度干线是MCS2的重要特点之一。  相似文献

Located at the southern boundary of the tropical rainfall belt within the South Africa monsoon regime, Rodrigues Island, ~2500 km east of East Africa, is ideally located to investigate climatic changes over the southwest Indian Ocean(SWIO). In this study, we investigate the climatic controls of its modern interannual rainfall variability in terms of teleconnection and local effects. We find that increased rainfall over the SWIO tends to occur in association with anomalously warm(cold) SSTs over the equatorial central Pacific(Maritime Continent), resembling the central Pacific El Ni?o, closely linked with the Victoria mode in the North Pacific. Our analyses show that the low-level convergence induced by warm SST over the equatorial central Pacific leads to anomalous low-level divergence over the Maritime Continent and convergence over a large area surrounding the Rodrigues Island, which leads to increased rainfall over the SWIO during the rainy season. Meanwhile, the excited Rossby wave along the tropical Indian Ocean transports more water vapor from the tropical convergence zone into the SWIO via intensified northwest wind. Furthermore, positive feedback induced by the Rossby wave response to the increased rainfall in the region contributes to the large interannual variations over the SWIO.  相似文献

Summary On October 20, 1974, an occluding cyclone, which did not intensify any more crossed central Europe. Considerable pressure tendencies reflecting the displacement of the storm were observed during its passage. Although horizontal density advection contributed least to density and thus pressure changes, it was still of decisive importance for both. The other larger contributors, whose net effect was usually opposed to the effect of horizontal advection, nearly cancelled each other. Thus there was a fair correlation between horizontal advection and density tendency, and the actual density and pressure changes frequently turned out smaller than if caused by advection alone.It has been shown that in the lowest 3 km usually. For the mass divergence this inequality was observed in the frontal zones where horizontal advection was considerable. In particular, warm air advection reduced the effect of horizontal velocity convergence near the warm front. Thus, vertical mass divergence became predominant and caused a density decline. Cold air advection accompanying the cold front was responsible for horizontal divergence to be overcompensated by vertical mass convergence which induced rising density.With 11 Figures  相似文献

The influence of interannual variability of water transport by the East Kamchatka Current, the Oyashio, and the East Sakhalin Current on the dissolved oxygen concentration in the western subarctic Pacific and the Sea of Okhotsk is considered for studying climate change impact on sea water chemical parameters. It is shown that statistically significant relation is observed between the calculated with the Sverdrup equation interannual variations in water transport with the East Kamchatka Current, the Oyashio, and the East Sakhalin Current and changes in mean sea water level at coastal stations in winter. It is found that the main reason of interannual variability of the dissolved oxygen concentration at isopycnic surfaces in the intermediate water layer (100–800 m) of the Sea of Okhotsk and in the western subarctic Pacific is caused by variations in water transport by the East Kamchatka Current, the Oyashio, and the East Sakhalin Current.  相似文献

通过对济南地区一次春季阵风锋的多普勒雷达资料分析,反演出典型的密度流外流边界(阵风锋)的特征,在雷达回波图上表现为一条狭窄的弧状强回波带,强回波带的后方再发展出宽大较弱的回波区.体扫的各仰角速度场显示出阵风锋合理的空间结构;在雷达回波上阵风锋的长度表现为低仰角长,高仰角短,而距离表现为低仰角远,高仰角近.速度垂直剖面上存在典型的中层径向辐合MARC,高度大约在2.5~7 km之间,反映出强对流存在明显的后方中层入流.随着仰角的增大,可以分析出阵风锋是近地面现象.  相似文献

After the strong 2015/16 El Ni?o event, cold conditions prevailed in the tropical Pacific with the second-year cooling of the 2017/18 La Ni?a event. Many coupled models failed to predict the cold SST anomalies(SSTAs) in 2017. By using the ERA5 and GODAS(Global Ocean Data Assimilation System) products, atmospheric and oceanic factors were examined that could have been responsible for the second-year cooling, including surface wind and the subsurface thermal state. A time sequence is described to demonstrate how the cold SSTAs were produced in the central-eastern equatorial Pacific in late 2017. Since July 2017, easterly anomalies strengthened in the central Pacific; in the meantime, wind stress divergence anomalies emerged in the far eastern region, which strengthened during the following months and propagated westward, contributing to the development of the second-year cooling in 2017. At the subsurface, weak negative temperature anomalies were accompanied by upwelling in the eastern equatorial Pacific, which provided the cold water source for the sea surface. Thereafter, both the cold anomalies and upwelling were enhanced and extended westward in the centraleastern equatorial Pacific. These changes were associated with the seasonally weakened EUC(the Equatorial Undercurrent) and strengthened SEC(the South Equatorial Current), which favored more cold waters being accumulated in the central-equatorial Pacific. Then, the subsurface cold waters stretched upward with the convergence of the horizontal currents and eventually outcropped to the surface. The subsurface-induced SSTAs acted to induce local coupled air–sea interactions, which generated atmospheric–oceanic anomalies developing and evolving into the second-year cooling in the fall of 2017.  相似文献

首先指出了北京地区夏季边界层急流的基本特征, 即北京地区边界层急流一般出现在白天高温背景下或发生局地暴雨的夜间, 强度存在明显的日变化, 垂直分布具有明显的"鼻状"结构特征, 急流核高度一般为600~900 m.从中尺度扰动方程出发, 并通过天气过程演变实例, 研究了地形热力作用、局地强降水在边界层急流形成过程中的作用, 指出: (1)夏季高温背景下, 平原与山区之间温度梯度方向、强度的变化, 是造成低空风垂直切变加速或减速, 即边界层急流形成或消失的直接原因, 因此这种边界层急流的高度一般要低于山体的高度.(2)局地暴雨与边界层急流之间存在明显的正反馈现象: 由于局地暴雨同时改变了对流层中层和近地面层气温的水平分布, 这种热力强迫作用造成了边界层气流加速; 反过来, 边界层气流的加速又加强了急流前方的风速辐合--如果急流方向水平垂直于山坡, 这种迎风坡上的辐合将更强, 造成局地降水强度进一步增强.  相似文献

本文采用七层初始方程谱模式,模拟在特定的海温异常的、不均匀的分布下对低纬大气环流的影响。本文研究得到如下结果:1. 积分七层初始方程谱模式可模拟出一个低纬沃克环流。2. 东太平洋出现异常暖海温时,积分96小时后产生一个对沃克环流的扰动。3. 扰动在东西向呈现上升与下沉运动相间的波列,并具有明显的西传现象。4. 东太平洋出现异常偏冷海温时,模拟结果与暖海温时类似,但扰动环流的垂直运动符号与其相反。5. 当东太平洋海温为正态分布时,仍然可以得到上述结果。  相似文献

The interannual variations of the sea level at the coastal stations of the Sea of Japan and of the water discharge through the Korea (Tsushima) Strait are studied. It is demonstrated that the interannual variations of the water discharge through this strait are determined by the water discharge of the Oyashio (in the subarctic Pacific) and the Kuroshio (in the East China Sea) currents and by the zonal wind stress component over the Sea of Japan in winter period. It is revealed that the variations in the East China Sea water transport through the Korea (Tsushima) Strait cause the interannual variations of the dissolved oxygen content in intermediate (500 m) and deep (1000 m and more, σθ = 27.35) waters of the Sea of Japan.  相似文献

Large-scale thermohaline circulation cells in the world oceans exist due to horizontal density gradients. Owing to differential heating between equator and pole a north-south density gradient is present at the ocean surface. An additional mechanism for producing north-south density gradients is the heat and salinity transport by boundary currents in the upper parts of the world oceans. In the North Atlantic, high density sinking water is produced by a convergence of salt water from the south and cold water from the north.We have investigated large-scale thermohaline convection cells by time integrating a two-dimensional Boussinesq model. The flow is driven by an imposed density gradient at the upper boundary (mixed layer) and an externally prescribed, meridionally varying density flux in the interior of the model domain. We perform numerical simulations and through time integrations we determine equilibrium states of the model. By changing the forcing parameters slowly during the course of a time integration, we have identified regions in parameter space where a hysteretic behaviour may be found. For a given set of the forcing parameters the model has two stable equilibrium states which differ in the direction of the circulation.We have thus found that due to the nonlinear nature of the balance between advection, internal mixing and forcing more than one stable equilibrium circulation pattern can be found under a given set of external forcing parameters. This result may offer a potential explanation for the existing asymmetries between the thermohaline circulation patterns in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as possible implications for the climatic state of the oceans under changing external conditions.  相似文献
