We present the stellar parameters of the individual components of the two old close binary systems HIP 14075 and HIP 14230 using synthetic photometric analysis. These parameters are accurately calculated based on the best match between the synthetic photometric results within three different photometric systems with the observed photometry of the entire system. From the synthetic photometry, we derive the masses and radii of HIP 14075 as \({\mathcal {M}}^A=0.99\pm 0.19 \mathcal {M_\odot }\), \(R_{A}=0.877\pm 0.08 R_\odot \) for the primary and \({\mathcal {M}}^B=0.96\pm 0.15 \mathcal {M_\odot }\), \(R_{B}=0.821\pm 0.07 R_\odot \) for the secondary, and of HIP 14230 as \({\mathcal {M}}^A=1.18\pm 0.22 \mathcal {M_\odot }\), \(R_{A}=1.234\pm 0.05 R_\odot \) for the primary and \({\mathcal {M}}^B=0.84\pm 0.12 \mathcal {M_\odot }\) , \(R_{B}=0.820\pm 0.05 R_\odot \) for the secondary. Both systems depend on Gaia parallaxes. Based on the positions of the components of the two systems on a theoretical Hertzsprung–Russell diagram, we find that the age of HIP 14075 is \(11.5\pm 2.0\) Gyr and of HIP 14230 is \(3.5\pm 1.5\) Gyr. Our analysis reveals that both systems are old close binary systems (\(\approx > 4\) Gyr). Finally, the positions of the components of both the systems on the stellar evolutionary tracks and isochrones are discussed.  相似文献

The results of a study on the binary HIP 18856 and construction of its orbit are presented.New observational data were obtained at the BTA of SAO RAS in 2007-2019.Earlier,Cvetkovic et al.constructed the orbit for this system.However,it is based on six measurements,which cover a small part of the orbit.The positional parameters of the ESA astrometric satellite Hipparcos published speckle interferometric data(Mason et al.,Balega et al.,Horch et al.)and new ones were used in this study.Based on the new orbital parameters,the mass sum was calculated and the physical parameters of the components were found.The obtained orbital and fundamental parameters were compared with the data from the study by Cvetkovic et al..The comparison shows that the new orbital solution is better than the old one,since it fits new observational data accurately.Also based on a qualitative evaluation performed by Worley&Heintz,the new orbit was classified as"reliable",which means data cover more than half of the orbit with sufficient quantities of residuals of measurements.  相似文献

The best physical and geometrical parameters of the main sequence close visual binary system(CVBS), HIP 105947, are presented. These parameters have been constructed conclusively using Al-Wardat's complex method for analyzing CVBSs, which is a method for constructing a synthetic spectral energy distribution(SED) for the entire binary system using individual SEDs for each component star. The model atmospheres are in its turn built using the Kurucz(ATLAS9) line-blanketed plane-parallel models. At the same time, the orbital parameters for the system are calculated using Tokovinin's dynamical method for constructing the best orbits of an interferometric binary system. Moreover, the mass-sum of the components, as well as the ?θ and ?ρ residuals for the system, is introduced. The combination of Al-Wardat's and Tokovinin's methods yields the best estimations of the physical and geometrical parameters. The positions of the components in the system on the evolutionary tracks and isochrones are plotted and the formation and evolution of the system are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the analysis of the stellar binary system HIP 43766 to determine its properties. We rely on dynamical modeling and atmospheric modeling with recent data to determine the orbital solution and the physical properties of the system. There is a consistency between observed and synthetic photometry obtained using atmospheric modeling. The calculated dynamical mass sum of the system ranged between 1.691 and 2.609 solar masses, while it ranges between 2.0 and 2.1 as estimated utilizing atmospheric modeling. This could be due to inaccuracy in estimating the orbit, which could be modified with future observations with more relative positional measurements. The parameters of the system and the position of the components on the evolutionary tracks show that the system consists of F5 and G5 subgiant stars, mostly formed by fragmentation. A dynamical mass sum is predicted for the system.  相似文献

A complete astrophysical and dynamical study of the close visual binary system (CVBS) Finsen 350 (A7V + F0V), is presented. Beginning with the entire observational spectral energy distribution (SED) and the magnitude difference between the subcomponents, Al-Wardat’s complex method for analyzing CVBS was applied as a reverse method of building the individual and entire synthetic SEDs of the system. This was combined with Docobo’s analytic method to calculate the new orbits. Although possible short (approximately 9 years) and long period (of about 18 years) orbits could be considered taking into account the similar results of the stellar masses obtained for each of them (3.07 and 3.41 M , respectively), we confirmed that the short solution is correct. In addition, other physical, geometrical and dynamical parameters of this system such as the effective temperatures, surface gravity accelerations, absolute magnitudes, radii, the dynamical parallax, etc., are reported. The Main Sequence phase of both components with age around 0.79 Gyr is approved.  相似文献

The occultation of bright star HIP9369 by the northern polar region of Jupiter was observed from four locations in North and South America, providing four data sets for ingress and egress. The inversion of the eight occultation lightcurves provides temperature profiles at different latitudes ranging from 55°N to 73.2°N. We estimate the errors on the profiles due to the uncertainties of the inversion method and compare the value of the temperature at the deepest level probed (∼ 50 μbar) with previous observations. The shape of the temperature gradient profile is found similar to previous investigations of planetary atmospheres with propagating and breaking gravity waves. We analyze the small scale structures in both lightcurves and temperature profiles using the continuous wavelet transform. The calculated power spectra of localized fluctuations in the temperature profiles show slopes close to −3 for all eight profiles. We also isolate and reconstruct the three-dimensional geometry of a single wave mode with vertical and horizontal wavelengths of respectively 3 and 70 km. The identified wave is consistent with the gravity wave regime, with a horizontal phase speed nearly parallel to the planetary meridian. Nevertheless, the dissipation of the corresponding wave in Jupiter’s stratosphere should preclude its detection at the observed levels and an acoustic wave cannot be ruled out.  相似文献

We report new radial velocity measurements for 30 candidate runaway stars. We revise their age estimates and compute their past trajectories in the Galaxy in order to determine their birthplaces. We find that seven of the stars could be younger than ∼100 Myr, and for five of them we identify multiple young clusters and associations in which they may have formed. For the youngest star in the sample, HIP 9470, we suggest a possible ejection scenario in a supernova event, and also that it may be associated with the young pulsar PSR J0152–1637. Our spectroscopic observations reveal seven of the stars in the sample of 30 to be previously unknown spectroscopic binaries. Orbital solutions for four of them are reported here as well. We report the 6-cm radio-continuum detection of a previously unknown radio star, HIP 68718, identified by the Hipparcos satellite as an EB or β-Lyrae type optical variable. Only five prior radio detections of this type are reported in the literature. The radio source (VLA J140402−002145) was detected at the 6σ level, with an associated <1 arcsec position error. The radio-optical separation is 0.2 arcsec and is well within the position errors. A ROSAT X-ray source (RXJ 1404.0−0021) is located 4.5 arcsec from the radio position. Based on the component spectral types (F5V + G5V), 1.52 d period, variations in the peak of the light curve and the X-ray and 6-cm radio luminosities, we conclude the star is a candidate RS CVn. The binary is in a near-contact phase based on the asymmetric light curve (O'Connell effect). Evidence of two faint possible companion objects was also found in the J - and K -band Two-Micron All-Sky Survey images.  相似文献

The rate coefficients for the formation of carbon monophosphide (CP) and silicon monophosphide (SiP) by radiative association are estimated for temperatures ranging from 300 to 14 100 K. In this temperature range, the radiative association rate coefficients are found to vary from  1.14 × 10−18  to  1.62 × 10−18 cm3 s−1  and from  3.73 × 10−20  to  7.03 × 10−20 cm3 s−1  for CP and SiP, respectively. In both cases, rate coefficients increase slowly with the increase in temperature.  相似文献

Metallicity of 8 E and SO galaxies as well as that of red globulars of the LMC and SMC were obtained by means of DDO integrated photometry calibrated with galactic globular clusters (Bica and Pastoriza, 1983; hereafter referred to as Paper I). A correction was obtained in order to reduce the colors of the galaxies to zero redshift. The relation metallicity vsM V for the galaxies is analyzed (adding to our sample the observations of McClure and Van den Bergh, 1968; and Faber, 1973a). For the Magellanic Clouds we found metallicity ranging from intermediate to poor.  相似文献

Both Uranus and Neptune are thought to have strong zonal winds with velocities of several 100 m s−1. These wind velocities, however, assume solid-body rotation periods based on Voyager 2 measurements of periodic variations in the planets’ radio signals and of fits to the planets’ magnetic fields; 17.24 h and 16.11 h for Uranus and Neptune, respectively. The realization that the radio period of Saturn does not represent the planet’s deep interior rotation and the complexity of the magnetic fields of Uranus and Neptune raise the possibility that the Voyager 2 radio and magnetic periods might not represent the deep interior rotation periods of the ice giants. Moreover, if there is deep differential rotation within Uranus and Neptune no single solid-body rotation period could characterize the bulk rotation of the planets. We use wind and shape data to investigate the rotation of Uranus and Neptune. The shapes (flattening) of the ice giants are not measured, but only inferred from atmospheric wind speeds and radio occultation measurements at a single latitude. The inferred oblateness values of Uranus and Neptune do not correspond to bodies rotating with the Voyager rotation periods. Minimization of wind velocities or dynamic heights of the 1 bar isosurfaces, constrained by the single occultation radii and gravitational coefficients of the planets, leads to solid-body rotation periods of ∼16.58 h for Uranus and ∼17.46 h for Neptune. Uranus might be rotating faster and Neptune slower than Voyager rotation speeds. We derive shapes for the planets based on these rotation rates. Wind velocities with respect to these rotation periods are essentially identical on Uranus and Neptune and wind speeds are slower than previously thought. Alternatively, if we interpret wind measurements in terms of differential rotation on cylinders there are essentially no residual atmospheric winds.  相似文献

Gravitational lensing of a background source by a foreground galaxy lens occasionally produces four images of the source. The cusp and the fold relations impose conditions on the ratios of magnifications of these four-image lenses. In this theoretical investigation, we explore the sensitivity of these relations to the presence of substructure in the lens. Starting with a smooth lens potential, we add varying amounts of substructure, while keeping the source position fixed, and find that the fold relation is a more robust indicator of substructure than the cusp relation for the images. This robustness is independent of the detailed spatial distribution of the substructure, as well as of the ellipticity of the lensing potential and the presence of external shear.  相似文献

Planetology serves the understanding on the one hand of the solar system and on the other hand, for investigating similarities and differences, of our own planet. While observational evidence about the outer planets is very limited, substantial datasets exist for the terrestrial planets. Radar and optical images and detailed models of gravity and topography give an impressive insight into the history, composition and dynamics of moon and planets. However, there exists still significant lack of data. It is therefore recommended to equip all future satellite missions to the moon and to planets with full tensor gravity gradiometers and radar altimeters.  相似文献

Abstract— An examination of data collected over the last 30 years indicates that the percent of glass fragments vs. whole splash forms in the Cenozoic microtektite strewn fields increases towards the source crater (or source region). We propose that this is due to thermal stress produced when tektites and larger microtektites fall into water near the source crater while still relatively hot (>1150 °C). We also find evidence (low major oxide totals, frothing when melted) for hydration of most of the North American tektite fragments and microtektites found in marine sediments. High-temperature mass spectrometry indicates that these tektite fragments and microtektites contain up to 3.8 wt% H2O. The H2O-release behavior during the high-temperature mass-spectrometric analysis, plus high CI abundances (0.05 wt%), indicate that the North American tektite fragments and microtektites were hydrated in the marine environment (i.e., the H2O was not trapped solely on quenching from a melt). The younger Ivory Coast and Australasian microtektites do not exhibit much evidence of hydration (at least not in excess of 0.5 wt% H2O); this suggests that the degree of hydration increases with age. In addition, we find that some glass spherules (with <65 wt% SiO2) from the upper Eocene clinopyroxene-bearing spherule layer in the Indian Ocean have palagonitized rims. These spherules appear to have been altered in a similar fashion to the splash form K/T boundary spherules. Thus, our data indicate that tektites and microtektites that generally contain >65 wt% SiO2 can undergo simple hydration in the marine environment, while impact glasses (with <65 wt% SiO2) can also undergo palagonitization.  相似文献

An element set is advocated that is familiar (in traditional terms), and yet applicable to every type of conic-section orbit without loss of accuracy. It is not free of singularity, but this is not a serious deficiency. Conversion procedures, to and from position and velocity, are outlined, with Fortran-77 listings appended. Tests have indicated that the errors in the pair of procedures are minimal, accuracy being limited only by computer precision and the (fixed) number of iterations used in the Kepler-equation solutions.  相似文献

Thermal radiation has been detected from four asteroids of the Trojan group, and J6 and J7, the brightest of the outer satellites of Jupiter. The six objects all have exceedingly low geometric albedos of 0.02 or 0.03 according to calculations based on their known visual brightness and the measured thermal fluxes. 624 Hektor, the largest object studied here, has a radius of 110 ± 20 km, though the exact shape of this body is in question. While the sample observed in this work is small (the total number of Trojans larger than 0.25 km in radius is about 1000), the fact that all four studied have similarly low albedos suggests that this property is characterisic of the Trojans and at least two of the outer members of Jupiter's retinue of satellites. The low surface albedo of the Trojans may preclude the proposed origin of the Jovian group of comets among these bodies according to E. Rabe. Updated tables of the dimensions of all the Jovian satellites are given.  相似文献
