The effect of the perturbative force, solar pressure, on the motion and stability of two cableconnected satellites in the Earth's central gravitational field of force has been studied. The osculating plane of the orbit of the centre of mass has been supposed to be inclined at a constant angle with the plane of the ecliptic. The particular solutions of the nonlinear, non-homogeneous and non-autonomous equations of relative motion in three-dimensional cases have been obtained. The particular solution in which the system lies wholly along the radius vector joining the attracting centre and the centre of mass of the system under the central attracting force alone was found to be stable (cf. Singh, 1973). It has been established in our case too that the same particular solution remains stable if the parameter of the solar pressure lies within a certain limit.  相似文献

The effect of solar pressure on the two-dimensional motion of two cable-connected satellites in the Earth's central gravitational field of force for the elliptical orbit of the centre-of-mass of the system has been analysed. The equations of motion obtianed are nonlinear and non-autonomous.It is concluded with the aid of non-resonant solution that the system experiences resonance main as well as parametric. If the eccentricity is small, the system will always oscillate about the position of equilibrium with tight string like dumb-bell satellite with changing phase and constant amplitude.  相似文献

We have analyzed the motion of an infinitesimal mass in the restricted four-body problem with solar wind drag. It is assumed that the forces which govern the motion are mutual gravitational attractions of the primaries, radiation pressure force and solar wind drag. We have derived the equations of motion and found the Jacobi integral, zero velocity surfaces, and particular solutions of the system. It is found that three collinear points are real when the radiation factor 0<β<0.1 whereas only one real point is obtained when 0.125<β<0.2. The stability property of the system is examined with the help of Poincaré surface of section (PSS) and Lyapunov characteristic exponents (LCEs). It is found that in presence of drag forces LCE is negative for a specific initial condition, hence the corresponding trajectory is regular whereas regular islands in the PSS are expanded.  相似文献

This paper discusses the dynamics of systems of point masses joined by massless rigid rods in the field of a potential force. The general form of equations of motion for such systems is obtained. The dynamics of a linear chain of mass points moving around a central body in an orbit is analysed. The non-integrability of the chain of three masses moving in a circular Kepler orbit around a central body is proven. This was achieved thanks to an analysis of variational equations along two particular solutions and an investigation of their differential Galois groups.  相似文献

Exact solutions have been found to the Fokker-Planck equations, incorporating stochastic velocity changes and modelling particles moving in an inverse square central force field under an inverse square collision frequency. The solutions for the velocity distribution contain a combination of collisional and dynamical (reversible) heating. At a general position, there are two populations each with three distinct temperatures, one normal to the orbital plane and the others closely parallel and perpendicular to the mean orbit. Collisional heating is strong and most readily detected in the secondary component of gas which reaches upstream directions along indirect orbits (attractive central force). For interplanetary helium gas reaching 1 a.u., the collisional heating ranges from effective transverse increase of 200 K and radial increase of 1500 K in the downstream wake, to several thousand K increase in radial temperature of the secondary component transverse to the initial gas stream. In interpreting 584 Å sky background radiation observations, the dynamical changes in the velocity spread have to be taken into account for helium gas that is initially hot, when Doppler shifts relative to the solar emission line are significant; the present solutions being the thermal approximations to the distribution function reveal the appropriate radial temperature as a function of space.  相似文献

The dynamics of small dust grains orbiting a planet are investigated when solar radiation pressure forces are added to the planet's gravitational central field. In the first part a set of differential equations is derived in a reference frame linked to the solar motion. The complete solution of these equations is given for particles lying in the planet's orbital plane, and we show that the orbital eccentricity may undergo considerable variation. At the same time the pericenter longitude librates or circulates according to initial conditions. With this result we establish a criterion for any orbiting particle (because of its highly eccentric orbit) to collide with its planet's atmosphere. The case of inclined orbit is studied through a numerical integration and allows us to draw conclusions related to the stability of the orbital plane. All solutions are periodic, with the period being independent of the initial conditions. This last point permits us to investigate the different time scales involved in that problem. Finally, the Poynting-Robertson drag is included, along with the radial radiation pressure forces, and the secular trend is considered. A coupling effect between the two components is ascertained, yielding a systematic behavior in the eccentricity and thus in the pericenter distance. Our solutions generalize the results of S. J. Peale (1966, J. Geophys. Res.71, 911–933) and J. A. Burns, P. Lamy, and S. Soter (1979, Icarus40, 1–48) by allowing eccentricities to be large (of order 1) and inclinations to be nonzero and by considering Poynting-Robertson drag.  相似文献

The stability of the solutions of the mean-field theories of turbulent media is questioned. It is done here for the model equations for the solar convection zone which have been used, in particular, to explain the differential rotation. We present an approximation valid for axisymmetric, short-wave disturbances. A critical local Rayleigh number can be defined - involving eddy diffusivities - above which the stratification becomes unstable. For mixing-length models of the solar convection zone we always find sub-critical Rayleigh numbers. One must be careful, however, with other theoretical models. Those we have considered do not reach sufficiently high surface pressure values so that there the associated Rayleigh numbers exceed their critical limits. In the outermost layers in such models, therefore, the solutions could really be unstable.  相似文献

Some particular features of solar differential rotation have been recently revealed in Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory: in the northern hemisphere of the Sun a propagation of a quasi bi-annual impulse of the rotation residual from the high latitudes to the equator, during the time interval of 1979–1981, was statistically demonstrated. Japaridze and Gigolashvili (1992) proposed that this event might be related with the change of magnetic polarity in the northern hemisphere of the Sun in 1981.To prove this hypothesis an investigation of the MHD equations in the local system of coordinates has been carried out. A homogeneous equation with partial derivatives in the linear approximation was obtained. Its solution is presented analytically. The disturbance of velocity enhances especially at the moment of reversal of magnetic field polarity.  相似文献

We present an exact analytical solution of the gravitational field equations describing a static spherically symmetric anisotropic quark matter distribution. The radial pressure inside the star is assumed to obey a linear equation of state, while the tangential pressure is a complicated function of the radial coordinate. In order to obtain the general solution of the field equations a particular density profile inside the star is also assumed. The anisotropic pressure distribution leads to an increase in the maximum radius and mass of the quark star, which in the present model is around three solar masses.  相似文献

The orbital accelerations of certain balloon satellites exhibit marked oscillations caused by solar radiation impinging on the surface of the satellites, which, once spherical, have assumed a spheroidal shape producing a component of force at right-angles to the Sun-satellite direction. Given the characteristics and orientation of the satellite, the equations of force are determined by the formulae of Lucas. Otherwise the phase-angle and magnitude of the right-angle force are determined by trial and error, or best-fit techniques. Using a variation of the approach developed by Aksnes, a semi-analytical algorithm is presented for evaluating the perturbations of the Keplerian elements by direct solar radiation pressure on a spheroidal satellite. The perturbations are obtained by summing over the sunlit part of each orbit and allow for a linear variation in the phase-angle. The algorithm is used to determine the orbital accelerations of 1963-30D due to direct solar radiation pressure, and these results are compared to the observed values over two separate periods of the satellite's lifetime.  相似文献

The existence of ten first integrals for the classical problem of the motion of a system of material points, mutually attracting according to Newtonian law, is well known. The existence of the analogous ten first integrals for the more complicated problem of the motion of a system of absolutely rigid bodies, whose elementary particles mutually attract according to the Newtonian law, was established by the author (Duboshin, 1958, 1963, 1968).In his later papers (Duboshin, 1969, 1970), the problem of the motion of a system of material points, attracting each other according to a more general law, was considered and, in particular, it was shown under what conditions the ten first integrals, analogous to the classical integrals, may exist for this problem. In the present paper, the generalized problem of translatory-rotatory motion of rigid bodies, whose elementary particles acting upon each other according to arbitrary laws of forces along the straight line joining them, is discussed. The author has shown that the first integrals for this general problem, analogous to the integrals of the problem of the translatory-rotatory motion of rigid bodies, whose elementary particles acting according to the Newtonian law, exist under certain well known conditions. That is, it has been established that if the third axiom of dynamics (action = reaction) is satisfied, then the integrals of the motion of centre of inertia and the integrals of the moment of momentum exist for this generalized problem. If the third axiom is not satisfied, then the above mentioned integrals do not exist. The third axiom is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for the existence of the tenth integral-the energy integral. The tenth integral always exists if the elementary particles of the bodies acting with a force, depend only on the mutual distances between them. In this case the force function exists for the problem and the energy integral can be expressed in a well known form. The tenth integral may exist for some more general case, without expressing the principle of conservation of energy, but permitting calculation of the kinetic energy, if the configuration of a system is given. The problem, in which the elementary particles acting according to the generalized Veber's law (Tisserand, 1896) has been cited as an example of this more general case.  相似文献

A tractable method for investigating the linear stability of line-tied 2-D coronal magnetic fields is introduced. It is based on the Bernstein et al. (1958) energy principle and can be applied to non-isothermal equilibria with gravity, having a translational invariance. The perturbed potential energy integral is manipulated to produce either necessary conditions for stability to localized modes or sufficient conditions for stability to global modes. Each condition only requires the solution of a set of ordinary differential equations, integrated along the magnetic field lines. The tests are employed to two different classes of equilibria. A linear force-free field is shown to be completely stable, regardless of the shear. The role of pressure gradients, footpoint displacements, line-tying and stratification on an isothermal magneto-hydrostatic equilibrium is assessed.  相似文献

A new class of analytical solution of the coupled system of Da Rios-diffusion equation in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) representing solitonic vortex filaments is obtained. One of the solutions is similar to the one found by Rogers and Schief describing a solitary wave propagating along a constant torsion vortex filament. Scalar magnetic diffusion equations are obtained by decomposing the magnetic filament along Frenet frame. The integral invariant of curvature is used to place limits on the diffused 100 eV plasma filament curvature. The resistivity of η=5×10?5 ohm?cm—close to the stainless steel limit is used to approximate the Frenet curvature. From the scalar diffusion equations the vortex filaments are constrained to move along torsionless (planar) trajectories. Da Rios equations are coupled to diffusion equation to obtain a solitonic vortex diffused filaments. Due to bounds in time and length L we show that the model discussed is particularly useful in solar physics.  相似文献

The motion of a point mass in the J 2 problem is generalized to that of a rigid body in a J 2 gravity field. The linear and nonlinear stability of the classical type of relative equilibria of the rigid body, which have been obtained in our previous paper, are studied in the framework of geometric mechanics with the second-order gravitational potential. Non-canonical Hamiltonian structure of the problem, i.e., Poisson tensor, Casimir functions and equations of motion, are obtained through a Poisson reduction process by means of the symmetry of the problem. The linear system matrix at the relative equilibria is given through the multiplication of the Poisson tensor and Hessian matrix of the variational Lagrangian. Based on the characteristic equation of the linear system matrix, the conditions of linear stability of the relative equilibria are obtained. The conditions of nonlinear stability of the relative equilibria are derived with the energy-Casimir method through the projected Hessian matrix of the variational Lagrangian. With the stability conditions obtained, both the linear and nonlinear stability of the relative equilibria are investigated in details in a wide range of the parameters of the gravity field and the rigid body. We find that both the zonal harmonic J 2 and the characteristic dimension of the rigid body have significant effects on the linear and nonlinear stability. Similar to the classical attitude stability in a central gravity field, the linear stability region is also consisted of two regions that are analogues of the Lagrange region and the DeBra-Delp region respectively. The nonlinear stability region is the subset of the linear stability region in the first quadrant that is the analogue of the Lagrange region. Our results are very useful for the studies on the motion of natural satellites in our solar system.  相似文献

The equilibrium structure of two-dimensional magnetic current sheets is investigated for systems in which the plasma pressure dominates the bulk flow energy, as appears appropriate for the quiet time plasmasheet in the geomagnetic tail. A simple model is studied in which the field is contained between plane parallel boundaries and varies exponentially along the system, while the plasma pressure is anisotropic, the anisotropy being arbitrary but constant along the centre plane. When the field is highly inflated by the plasma current it is found that adiabatic solutions exist only when the plasma pressure is close to isotropic. For the case P > P it is argued that a thin, non-adiabatic current layer will in general form at the sheet centre, usually embedded within a much broader adiabatic current distribution. When P > P, a broad region of very depressed fields develops about the centre of the current sheet, terminated at its outer boundary by a spike in the current density. This central region becomes unstable to the mirror mode well before the limiting adiabatic solution is reached.  相似文献

Microorganisms sealed in KBr discs have an absorption spectrum over the 2.5–15 μm waveband that shows thermal stability as they are heated in an inert atmosphere to temperatures of about400 °C. Microfossils tightly sealed within cavities in rocks could be endowed with similar properties of thermal stability. The observed absorption of interstellar material along the line of sight from the solar system to the galactic centre is remarkably similar to the spectrum of dry micro-organisms over the 3.15–3.7 μm waveband. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The parametric excitation of a gravity gradient stabilized spacecraft induced by the periodic solar pressure torque is discussed. The solar pressure torque in the linearized equations of motion appears as linear terms with periodic coefficients. The attitude stability is analyzed numerically through the calculation of the Floquet multiplier. The perturbation method is also applied to identify the instability condition analytically. It is made clear that the periodic solar pressure torque can destabilize the coupled roll and yaw attitude motion of the spacecraft. It is also shown that the conditions of parametric resonance are included in the gravity gradient stability condition. Nonlinear simulations are also carried out to verify the effect of the parametric resonance. The numerical simulation using actual parameters shows that the spacecraft inevitably experiences a large amplitude attitude motion due to the periodic solar pressure torque even if the gravity gradient stability condition is satisfied.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze the dynamical behavior of large dust grains in the vicinity of a cometary nucleus. To this end we consider the gravitational field of the irregularly shaped body, as well as its electric and magnetic fields. Without considering the effect of gas friction and solar radiation, we find that there exist grains which are static relative to the cometary nucleus; the positions of these grains are the stable equilibria. There also exist grains in the stable periodic orbits close to the cometary nucleus. The grains in the stable equilibria or the stable periodic orbits won’t escape or impact on the surface of the cometary nucleus. The results are applicable for large charge dusts with small area-mass ratio which are near the cometary nucleus and far from the Solar. It is found that the resonant periodic orbit can be stable, and there exist stable non-resonant periodic orbits, stable resonant periodic orbits and unstable resonant periodic orbits in the potential field of cometary nuclei. The comet gravity force, solar gravity force, electric force, magnetic force, solar radiation pressure, as well as the gas drag force are all considered to analyze the order of magnitude of these forces acting on the grains with different parameters. Let the distance of the dust grain relative to the mass centre of the cometary nucleus, the charge and the mass of the dust grain vary, respectively, fix other parameters, we calculated the strengths of different forces. The motion of the dust grain depends on the area-mass ratio, the charge, and the distance relative to the comet’s mass center. For a large dust grain (> 1 mm) close to the cometary nucleus which has a small value of area-mass ratio, the comet gravity is the largest force acting on the dust grain. For a small dust grain (< 1 mm) close to the cometary nucleus with large value of area-mass ratio, both the solar radiation pressure and the comet gravity are two major forces. If the a small dust grain which is close to the cometary nucleus have the large value of charge, the magnetic force, the solar radiation pressure, and the electric force are all major forces. When the large dust grain is far away from the cometary nucleus, the solar gravity and solar radiation pressure are both major forces.  相似文献
