The Bulonggoer paleo-oil reservoir (BPR) on the northwest Junggar Basin is the first Devonian paleo-oil reservoir discovered in North Xinjiang, China. Solid bitumens occur within sandstone pores and as veins filling fractures. Samples of both types were analyzed using stable carbon isotope and reflectance measurements, as well as molecular biomarker parameters. The extremely positive δ13C values and biomarker indicators of depositional environment/lithology, such as pristane/phytane (Pr/Ph), C29/C30 hopane, diasteranes/regular steranes and dibenzothiophene/phenanthrene ratios, indicate a siliciclastic source for the BPR and their deposition in a highly reducing hypersaline environment. The presence of long chain n-alkanes and abundant tetracyclic diterpanes, C20–C21 tricyclic terpanes and perylene are indicators of higher plant organic matter input. Moreover, the bimodal distribution of C27 > C28 < C29 regular steranes and abundant methyltriaromatic steroids also support a contribution of microalgae as well as higher plants organic matter. The similar molecular composition and thermal maturity parameters indicate that the reservoir and veined solid bitumens were altered from a common paleo-petroleum, which originated from peak oil window matured source rocks. All solid bitumens from the BPR are characterized by relatively low bitumen reflectance values (Rb% < 0.7), suggesting that they were generated from low temperature processes rather than oil thermal cracking. Comparatively, the Rb% values for veined bitumens are higher than reservoir bitumens, indicating that the veined bitumens occurred earlier and experienced higher thermal conditions.  相似文献

First principles phase diagram calculations were performed for the system NaCl–KCl. Plane-wave pseudopotential calculations of formation energies were used as a basis for fitting cluster expansion Hamiltonians, both with and without an approximation for the excess vibrational entropy (SVIB). Including SVIB dramatically improves the agreement between calculated and experimental phase diagrams: experimentally, the consolute point is {XC = 0.348, TC = 765 K}Exp; without SVIB, it is {XC = 0.46, TC  1630 K}Calc; with SVIB, it is {XC = 0.43, TC  930 K}Calc.  相似文献

The stable carbon isotopic compositions of light hydrocarbon gases adsorbed in near-surface soil and sediments from the Saurashtra basin were characterized for their origin and maturity. Saurashtra is considered geologically prospective for oil and gas reserves; however, a major part of the basin is covered by the Deccan Traps, hindering the exploration of Mesozoic hydrocarbon targets. Surface geochemical prospecting, based on micro-seepage of hydrocarbons from subsurface accumulations, could be advantageous in such areas. In light of this, 150 soil samples were collected from the northwestern part of Saurashtra, around the Jamnagar area, where a thick sedimentary sequence of about 2–3 km exists under 1–1.5 km of Deccan basalt. The concentration of acid desorbed alkane gases from soil samples was found to vary (in ppb) as: methane (C1) = 3–518; ethane (C2) = 0–430; propane (C3) = 0–331; i-butane (iC4) = 0–297; n-butane (nC4) = 2–116; i-pentane (iC5) = 0–31 and n-pentane (nC5) = 0–23, respectively.Fifteen samples with high concentrations of alkane gases were measured for their δ13C1; δ13C2 and δ13C3 compositions using gas chromatography–combustion-isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC–C-IRMS). The values for methane varied from ? 27 to ? 45.4‰, ethane from ? 20.9 to ? 27.6‰, and propane from ? 20.4 to ? 29.1‰ versus the Vienna PeeDee Belemnite (VPDB). The carbon isotope ratio distribution pattern represents isotopic characteristics pertaining to hydrocarbon gases derived from thermogenic sources. Comparisons of carbon isotopic signatures and compositional variations with the standard carbon isotopic models suggest that hydrocarbon gases found in the shallow depths of the study area are not of bacterial origin but are formed thermally from deeply buried organic matter, likely to be mainly a terrestrial source rock with a partial contribution from a marine source. These gases may have migrated to the near-surface environment, where they represent an admixture of thermally generated hydrocarbon gases from mixed sources and maturity. The maturity scale (δ13C versus Log Ro %) applied to the surface sediment samples of the Jamnagar area indicated the source material to be capable of generating oil and gas. The detection of thermogenic alkane gases in near-surface sediments offers the possibility of hydrocarbons at depth in Saurashtra.  相似文献

Future climatic conditions may coincide with an increased potential for wildfires in grassland and forest ecosystems, whereby charred biomass would be incorporated into soils. Molecular changes in biomass upon charring have been frequently analysed with a focus on black carbon. Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, known to be liberated during incomplete combustion of biomass have been preferentially analysed in soot particles, whereas determinations of these compounds in charred biomass residues are scarce. We discuss the influence of increasing charring temperature on the aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon composition of crop grass combustion residues. Straw from rye, representing C3 grasses and maize, representing C4 grasses, was charred in the presence of limited oxygen at 300, 400 and 500 °C. Typical n-alkane distribution patterns with a strong predominance of long chain odd-numbered n-alkanes maximising at C31 were observed in raw straw. Upon combustion at 300 °C aliphatic hydrocarbons in char were dominated by sterenes, whereas at 400 °C sterenes disappeared and medium chain length n-alkanes, maximising around n-C20, with a balanced odd/even distribution were present. At a charring temperature of 500 °C n-alkane chain length shifted to short chain homologues, maximising at C18 with a pronounced predominance of even homologues. Even numbered, short chain n-alkanes in soils may thus serve as a marker for residues of charred biomass. Aromatic hydrocarbons indicate an onset of aromatization of biomass already at 300 °C, followed by severe aromatization upon incomplete combustion at 400–500 °C. The diagnostic composition of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons from charred biomass affords potential for identifying residues from burned vegetation in recent and fossil soils and sediments.  相似文献

The organic geochemical methods of hydrocarbon prospecting involve the characterization of sedimentary organic matter in terms of its abundance, source and thermal maturity, which are essential prerequisites for a hydrocarbon source rock. In the present study, evaluation of organic matter in the outcrop shale samples from the Semri and Kaimur Groups of Vindhyan basin was carried out using Rock Eval pyrolysis. Also, the adsorbed low molecular weight hydrocarbons, methane, ethane, propane and butane, were investigated in the near surface soils to infer the generation of hydrocarbons in the Vindhyan basin. The Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content in shales ranges between 0.04% and 1.43%. The S1 (thermally liberated free hydrocarbons) values range between 0.01–0.09 mgHC/gRock (milligram hydrocarbon per gram of rock sample), whereas the S2 (hydrocarbons from cracking of kerogen) show the values between 0.01 and 0.14 mgHC/gRock. Based on the Tmax (temperature at highest yield of S2) and the hydrogen index (HI) correlations, the organic matter is characterized by Type III kerogen. The adsorbed soil gas, CH4 (C1), C2H6 (C2), C3H8 (C3) and nC4H10, (nC4), concentrations measured in the soil samples from the eastern part of Vindhyan basin (Son Valley) vary from 0 to 186 ppb, 0 to 4 ppb, 0 to 5 ppb, and 0 to 1 ppb, respectively. The stable carbon isotope values for the desorbed methane (δ13C1) and ethane (δ13C2) range between −45.7‰ to −25.2‰ and −35.3‰ to −20.19‰ (VPDB), respectively suggesting a thermogenic source for these hydrocarbons. High concentrations of thermogenic hydrocarbons are characteristic of areas around Sagar, Narsinghpur, Katni and Satna in the Son Valley. The light hydrocarbon concentrations (C1–C4) in near surface soils of the western Vindhyan basin around Chambal Valley have been reported to vary between 1–2547 ppb, 1–558 ppb, 1–181 ppb, 1–37 ppb and 1–32 ppb, respectively with high concentrations around Baran-Jhalawar-Bhanpur-Garot regions (Kumar et al., 2006). The light gaseous hydrocarbon anomalies are coincident with the wrench faults (Kota – Dholpur, Ratlam – Shivpuri, Kannod – Damoh, Son Banspur – Rewa wrench) in the Vindhyan basin, which may provide conducive pathways for the migration of the hydrocarbons towards the near surface soils.  相似文献

Previously studied thermosequences of wood (chestnut) and grass (rice straw) biochar were subjected to hydrogen pyrolysis (hypy) to evaluate the efficacy of the technique for determining pyrogenic carbon (CP) abundance. As expected, biochar from both wood and grass produced at higher temperature had higher CP amount. However, the trend was not linear, but more sigmoidal. CP/CT ratio values (CT = total organic carbon) for the wood thermosequence were ⩽0.03 at biochar production temperature (TCHAR)  300 °C. They increased dramatically until 600 °C and remained relatively constant and near unity at higher biochar production temperature. Grass biochar was similar in profile, but CP/CT values rose dramatically after 400 °C. The findings are consistent with the hypothesis that hypy residues contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with a degree of condensation above at least 7–14 fused rings, with labile organic matter and pyrogenic PAHs below this degree of condensation removed by hypy. Both wood and grass thermosequences displayed δ13CP values that decreased with increased TCHAR, indicating that recalcitrant carbon compounds (pyrogenic aromatic PAHs with a relatively high degree of condensation) were first formed from structural components with relatively high δ13C values (e.g. cellulose). Relatively constant δ13C values at TCHAR  500 °C suggested the dominant pyrolysis reaction was condensation of PAHs with no additional fractionation. Comparison of hypy with benzene polycarboxylic acid (BPCA), ‘ring current’ NMR and pyrolysis gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) results from the same suite of samples indicated a consistent overview of the structure of CP, but provided unique and complimentary information.  相似文献

Phonon velocities and densities for Pt were measured based on inelastic X-ray scattering from ambient pressure to 20 GPa in order to independently determine its equation of state (EOS). Phonon velocities were determined with sine dispersion relations. Cij values were obtained by fitting phonon velocities and densities to the Christoffel equation. We found that the obtained Cijs were in good agreement with previously reported Cijs at ambient condition. Based on the Cij values in various conditions, experimental pressures were calculated. The EOS of Pt as a primary pressure scale was determined based on the experimental pressures. We report K’ = 5.17 with fixed KT = 274.1 GPa and V0 = 60.360 Å3 for Vinet EOS. Our scale is in good agreement with several previously published scales based on shock experiments and XRD.  相似文献

The Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous aged carbonate sequence is widely exposed in the southern zone of Eastern Pontides. Aptian black bituminous limestone is found in the upper part of this sequence in the Kale area (Gümüşhane). This limestone contains faunal remains (e.g., gastropod, ostracod, characean stems and miliolid type benthic foraminifera) that indicate a freshwater, lacustrine depositional environment. The total organic carbon (TOC) values of the bituminous limestone samples range from 0.11–1.30% with an average TOC value of 0.54%. The hydrogen index (HI) varies from 119–448 mg HC/g TOC (average HI 298 mg HC/g TOC) indicating that the limestone contains gas prone as well as oil prone organic matter. Pyrolysis data prove that the organic matter content in the bituminous limestone consists of Type II kerogen. The average Tmax value for bituminous limestone samples is 438 °C (434–448 °C). Bitumen/TOC ratios for bituminous limestone are 0.05 and 0.04. The Tmax values and the ratios indicate that the bituminous limestone samples contain early mature to mature organic matter.Analysis of solvent extracts from the two richest bituminous limestones show a predominance of high carbon number (C26–C30) n-alkanes. The Pr/Ph ratio and CPI value are 1.34 and 0.96, respectively. C29 is the dominant sterane, with C29 > C27 > C28. The bituminous limestone samples have low C22/C21 ratios, high C24/C23 tricyclic terpane ratios and very low C31R/C30 hopane ratios (<0.25). These data are consistent with the bituminous limestones being deposited in a lacustrine environment.  相似文献

The Tertiary Thrace Basin located in NW Turkey comprises 9 km of clastic-sedimentary column ranging in age from Early Eocene to Recent in age. Fifteen natural gas and 10 associated condensate samples collected from the 11 different gas fields along the NW–SE extending zone of the northern portion of the basin were evaluated on the basis of their chemical and individual C isotopic compositions. For the purpose of the study, the genesis of CH4, thermogenic C2+ gases, and associated condensates were evaluated separately.Methane appears to have 3 origins: Group-1 CH4 is bacteriogenic (Calculated δ13CC1–C = −61.48‰; Silivri Field) and found in Oligocene reservoirs and mixed with the thermogenic Group-2 CH4. They probably formed in the Upper Oligocene coal and shales deposited in a marshy-swamp environment of fluvio-deltaic settings. Group-2 (δ13CC1–C = −35.80‰; Hamitabat Field) and Group-3 (δ13C1–C = −49.10‰; Değirmenköy Field) methanes are thermogenic and share the same origin with the Group-2 and Group-3 C2+ gases. The Group-2 C2+ gases include 63% of the gas fields. They are produced from both Eocene (overwhelmingly) and Oligocene reservoirs. These gases were almost certainly generated from isotopically heavy terrestrial kerogen (δ13C = −21‰) present in the Eocene deltaic Hamitabat shales. The Group-3 C2+ gases, produced from one field, were generated from isotopically light marine kerogen (δ13C = −29‰). Lower Oligoce ne Mezardere shales deposited in pro-deltaic settings are believed to be the source of these gases. The bulk and individual n-alkane isotopic relationships between the rock extracts, gases, condensates and oils from the basin differentiated two Groups of condensates, which can be genetically linked to the Group-2 and -3 thermogenic C2+ gases. However, it is crucial to note that condensates do not necessarily correlate to their associated gases.Maturity assessments on the Group-1 and -2 thermogenic gases based on their estimated initial kerogen isotope values (δ13C = −21‰; −29‰) and on the biomarkers present in the associated condensates reveal that all the hydrocarbons including gases, condensates and oils are the products of primary cracking at the early mature st age (Req = 0.55–0.81%). It is demonstrated that the open-system source conditions required for such an early-mature hydrocarbon expulsion exist and are supported by fault systems of the basin.  相似文献

Now extinct, short-lived radioactive nuclides, such as 7Be (T1/2 = 53 days), 10Be (T1/2 = 1.5 Ma), 26Al (T1/2 = 0.74 Ma), 36Cl (T1/2 = 0.3 Ma), 41Ca (T1/2 = 0.1 Ma), 53Mn (T1/2 = 3.7 Ma) and 60Fe (T1/2 = 1.5 Ma), were present in the protosolar nebula when the various components of meteorites formed. The presence of these radioactive isotopes requires a ‘last-minute’ origin, either nucleosynthesis in a massive star dying close in space and time to the nascent solar system or production by local irradiation of part of the protosolar disk by high-energy solar cosmic rays. In this review, we list: (i) the different observations indicating the existence of multiple origins for short-lived radioactive nuclides, namely 7Be, 10Be and 36Cl for irradiation scenario and 60Fe for injection scenario; (ii) the constraints that exist on their distribution (homogeneous or heterogeneous) in the accretion disk; (iii) the constraints they brought on the timescales of nebular processes (from Ca–Al-rich inclusions to chondrules) and of the accretion and differentiation of planetesimals.  相似文献

Four crude oil samples from the Sergipe–Alagoas Basin, northeastern Brazil, were analyzed using full scan gas chromatography–quadrupole mass spectrometry (GC–qMS) for biomarkers, in order to correlate them using aromatic carotenoids thereby enhancing knowledge about the depositional environment of their source rocks. The geochemical parameters derived from saturated fractions of the oils show evidence of little or no biodegradation and similar thermal maturation (Ts/(Ts + Tm) for terpanes, C29 αββ/(αββ + ααα), C27, and C29 20S/(20S + 20R) for steranes). Low pristane/phytane ratios and the abundance of gammacerane and β-carotane are indicative of an anoxic and saline depositional environment for the source rocks. Moreover, we identified a large range of diagenetic and catagenetic products of the aromatic carotenoid isorenieratene, including C40, C33, and C32 diaryl isoprenoids and aryl isoprenoid derivatives with short side chains and/or additional rings. These results indicate anoxia in the photic zone during the deposition of the source rocks.  相似文献

Experiments on the origin of the Udachnaya-East kimberlite (UEK) have been performed using a Kawai-type multianvil apparatus at 3–6.5 GPa and 900–1500 °C. The studied composition represents exceptionally fresh Group-I kimberlite containing (wt.%): SiO2 = 25.9, TiO2 = 1.8, Al2O3 = 2.8, FeO = 9.0, MgO = 30.1, CaO = 12.7, Na2O = 3.4, K2O = 1.3, P2O5 = 1.0, Cl = 0.9, CO2 = 9.9, and H2O = 0.5. The super-solidus assemblage consists of melt, olivine (Ol), Ca-rich (26.0–30.2 wt.% CaO) garnet (Gt), Al-spinel (Sp), perovskite (Pv), a CaCO3 phase (calcite or aragonite), and apatite. The low pressure assemblage (3–4 GPa) also includes clinopyroxene. The apparent solidus was established between 900 and 1000 °C at 6.5 GPa. At 6.5 GPa and 900 °C Na–Ca carbonate with molar ratio of (Na + K)/Ca  0.44 was observed. The UEK did not achieve complete melting even at 1500 °C and 6.5 GPa, due to excess xenogenic Ol in the starting material. In the studied PT range, the melt has a Ca-carbonatite composition (Ca# = molar Ca/(Ca + Mg) ratio = 0.62–0.84) with high alkali and Cl contents (7.3–11.4 wt.% Na2O, 2.8–6.7 wt.% K2O, 1.6–3.4 wt.% Cl). The K, Na and Cl contents and Ca# decrease with temperature. It is argued that the primary kimberlite melt at depths > 200 km was an essentially carbonatitic (< 5 wt.% SiO2), but evolved toward a carbonate–silicate composition (up to 15–20 wt.% SiO2) during ascent. The absence of orthopyroxene among the run products indicates that xenogenic orthopyroxene was preferentially dissolved into the kimberlite melt. The obtained subliquidus phase assemblage (Ol + Sp + Pv + Ca-rich Gt) at PT conditions of the UEK source region, i.e. where melt was in the last equilibrium with source rock before magma ascent, differs from the Opx-bearing peridotitic mineral assemblage of the UEK source region. This difference can be ascribed to the loss of substantial amounts of CO2 from the kimberlite magma at shallow depths, as indicated by both petrological and experimental data. Our study implies that alkali-carbonatite melt would be a liquid phase within mantle plumes generated at the core–mantle boundary or shallower levels of the mantle, enhancing the ascent velocity of the plumes. We conclude that the long-term activity of a rising hot mantle plume and associated carbonatite melt (i.e. kimberlite melt) causes thermo-mechanical erosion of the subcontinental lithosphere mantle (SCLM) roots and creates hot and deformed metasomatic regions in the lower parts of the SCLM, which corresponds to depths constrained by PT estimates of sheared Gt-peridotite xenoliths. The sheared Gt-peridotites undoubtedly represent samples of these regions.  相似文献

Three models were examined to predict C aromaticity (fa) of biochars based on either their elemental composition (C, H, N and O) or fixed C (FC) content. Values of fa from solid state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis with Bloch-decay (BD) or direct polarisation (DP) techniques, concentrations of total C, H, N, and organic O, and contents of FC of 60 biochars were either compiled from the literature (dataset 1, n = 52) or generated in this study (dataset 2, n = 8). Models were first calibrated with dataset 1 and then validated with dataset 2. All models were able to fit dataset 1 when atomic H to C ratio (H/C) < 1 (except two ash rich biochars) and to estimate fa of HF treated biochars (H/C < 1). Model 1, which was based on values of H/C only and calibrated with a root mean square of error (RMSE) of 0.04 fa-unit (n = 41), could predict the experimental data with a RMSE = 0.02 fa-unit (n = 6). Model 2, which was based on biochar elemental composition data, showed the most accurate prediction, with a RMSE of 0.03 fa-unit (n = 41) for the calibration data, and of 0.02 fa-unit (n = 6, H/C < 1) for the validation data. Model 3, which was based on contents of FC and C, and modified with a correction factor of 0.96, displayed the highest RMSE (0.06 fa-unit, n = 19) among the three models. Models 1 and 2 did not work properly for samples having either an H/C ratio > 1, high concentrations of carbonate or high inorganic H. These models need to be further tested with a wider range of biochars before they can be recommended for classification of biochar stability.

We investigated the effect of ionizing radiation on organic matter (OM) in the carbonaceous uranium (U) mineralization at the Mulga Rock deposit, Western Australia. Samples were collected from mineralized layers between 53 and 58.5 m depths in the Ambassador prospect, containing <5300 ppm U. Uranium bears a close spatial relationship with OM, mostly finely interspersed in the attrinite matrix and via enrichments within liptinitic phytoclasts (mainly sporinite and liptodetrinite). Geochemical analyses were conducted to: (i) identify the natural sources of molecular markers, (ii) recognize relationships between molecular markers and U concentrations and (iii) detect radiolysis effects on molecular marker distributions. Carbon to nitrogen ratios between 82 and 153, and Rock–Eval pyrolysis yields of 316–577 mg hydrocarbon/g TOC (HI) and 70–102 mg CO2/g TOC (OI) indicate a predominantly lipid-rich terrigenous plant OM source deposited in a complex shallow swampy wetland or lacustrine environment. Saturated hydrocarbon and ketone fractions reveal molecular distributions co-varying with U concentration. In samples with <1700 ppm U concentrations, long-chain n-alkanes and alkanones (C27–C31) reveal an odd/even carbon preference indicative of extant lipids. Samples with ⩾1700 ppm concentrations contain intermediate-length n-alkanes and alkanones, bearing a keto-group in position 2–10, with no carbon number preference. Such changes in molecular distributions are inconsistent with diagenetic degradation of terrigenous OM in oxic depositional environments and cannot be associated with thermal breakdown due to the relatively low thermal maturity of the deposits (Rr = 0.26%). It is assumed that the intimate spatial association of high U concentrations resulted in breakdown via radiolytic cracking of recalcitrant polyaliphatic macromolecules (spores, pollen, cuticles, or algal cysts) yielding medium chain length n-alkanes (C13–C24). Reactions of n-alkenes with OH radicals from water hydrolysis produced alcohols that dehydrogenated to alkanones or through carbonylation formed alkanones. Rapid reactions with hydroxyl radicals likely decreased the isomerization of n-alkenes and decreased alkanone diversity, such that the alkan-2-one isomer is predominant. This specific distribution of components generated by natural radiolysis enables their application as “radiolytic molecular markers”. Breaking of C–C bonds through radiolytic cracking at temperatures much lower than the oil window (<50 °C) can have profound implications on initiation of petroleum formation, paleoenvironmental reconstructions, mineral exploration and in tracking radiolysis of OM.  相似文献

The mudstones in the third member of the Shahejie Formation (Es3) are the primary source rocks in the Banqiao Depression of Bohai Bay Basin. They are rich in organic matter with Total Organic Carbon (TOC) content up to 3.5%. The sandstones in the Es3 member are the deepest proven hydrocarbon reservoir rocks with measured porosity and permeability values ranging from 3.6% to 32.4% and from 0.01 md to 3283.7 md, respectively. One, two and three-dimensional basin modelling studies were performed to analyse the petroleum generation and migration history of the Es3 member in the Banqiao Depression based on the reconstruction of the burial, thermal and maturity history in order to evaluate the remaining potential of this petroleum province. The modelling results are calibrated with measured vitrinite reflectance (Ro), borehole temperatures and some drilling results of 63 wells in the study area. Calibration of the model with thermal maturity and borehole temperature data indicates that the present-day heat flow in the Banqiao Depression varies from 59.8 mW/m2 to 61.7 mW/m2 and the paleo-heat flow increased from 65 Ma to 50.4 Ma, reached a peak heat-flow values of approximately 75 mW/m2 at 50.4 Ma and then decreased exponentially from 50.4 Ma to present-day. The source rocks of the Es3 member are presently in a stage of oil and condensate generation with maturity from 0.5% to 1.8% Ro and had maturity from 0.5% to 1.25% Ro at the end of the Dongying Formation (Ed) deposition (26 Ma). Oil generation (0.5% Ro) in the Es3 member began from about 37 Ma to 34 Ma and the peak hydrocarbon generation (1.0% Ro) occurred approximately from 30 Ma to 15 Ma. The modelled hydrocarbon expulsion evolution suggested that the timing of hydrocarbon expulsion from the Es3 member source rocks began from 31 Ma to 10 Ma with the peak hydrocarbon expulsion shortly after 26 Ma. Secondary petroleum migration pathways in the Es3 member of the Banqiao Depression are modelled based on the structure surfaces at 26 Ma and present-day, respectively. The migration history modelling results have accurately predicted the petroleum occurrences within the Es3 member of the Banqiao Depression based on the calibration with drilling results of 10 oil-producing wells, one well with oil shows and 52 dry holes. Six favorable zones of oil accumulations in the Es3 member of the Banqiao Depression are identified especially oil accumulation zones I and II due to their proximity to the generative kitchens, short oil migration distances and the presence of a powerful drive force.  相似文献

Comparing the early Earth to the present day, geological–geochemical evidence points towards higher mantle potential temperature and a different type of tectonics. In order to investigate possible changes in Precambrian tectonic styles, we conduct 3D high-resolution petrological–thermomechanical numerical modelling experiments for oceanic plate subduction under an active continental margin at a wide range of mantle potential temperature TP (∆ TP = 0  250 K, compared to present day conditions). At present day mantle temperatures (∆ TP = 0 K), results of numerical experiments correspond to modern-style subduction, whereas at higher temperature conditions important systematic changes in the styles of both lithospheric deformation and mantle convection occur. For ∆ TP = 50  100 K a regime of dripping subduction emerges which is still very similar to present day subduction but is characterised by frequent dripping from the slab tip and a loss of coherence of the slab, which suggests a close relationship between dripping subduction and episodic subduction. At further increasing ∆ TP = 150  200 K dripping subduction is observed together with unstable dripping lithosphere, which corresponds to a transitional regime. For ∆ TP = 250 K, presumably equivalent to early Archean, the dominating tectonic style is characterised by small-scale mantle convection, unstable dripping lithosphere, thick basaltic crust and small plates. Even though the initial setup is still defined by present day subduction, this final regime shows many characteristics of plume-lid tectonics. Transition between the two end-members, plume-lid tectonics and plate tectonics, happens gradually and at intermediate temperatures elements of both tectonic regimes are present. We conclude, therefore, that most likely no abrupt geodynamic regime transition point can be specified in the Earth's history and its global geodynamic regime gradually evolved over time from plume-lid tectonics into modern style plate tectonics.  相似文献

Phosphatized microfossils from ca. 580 Ma from the Doushantuo Formation in the Weng'an region of South China were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) microspectroscopy for their chemical characterization. Two morpho-types of phosphatized embryo-like fossils (Megasphaera and Megaclonophycus) were analyzed, together with algal fossils. Transmission IR spectra of the microfossils have absorption bands of around 2960 cm 1 and 2925 cm 1, indicating the presence of aliphatic hydrocarbon (anti-symmetric aliphatic CH3 and aliphatic CH2), and have an additional band of around 1595 cm 1, probably derived from aromatic moieties (aromatic CC). In addition, IR microscopic mapping shows that aliphatic hydrocarbon and aromatics are distributed inside the embryo-like fossils. The embryo-like fossils appear to show three types of CH3/CH2 peak height ratios (R3/2) and aromatic CC/CH2 peak height ratios (RCC/2 values): (1) high-R3/2/low-RCC/2 type (R3/2 = ~ 0.2–1.0 and RCC/2 ~ 0–2), (2) low-R3/2/medium-RCC/2 type (R3/2 = ~ 0.2–0.6 and RCC/2 = ~ 1–4); and (3) low-R3/2/high-RCC/2 type (R3/2 = ~ 0.2–0.6 and RCC/2 ~ 1–8). All three types are contained in both Megasphaera and Megaclonophycus. Raman spectra for the carbonaceous matter within the rock sample show a similar degree of thermal alteration, indicating that the organics were embedded in situ prior to thermal maturation. The IR spectroscopic differences might reflect differences in original organic compositions of microorganisms, and/or immediate post-mortem alteration. This suggests that the origins of phosphatized embryo-like fossils are more diverse than was previously recognized on the basis of their morphology. A comparison of R3/2 and RCC/2 values in the embryo-like fossils with those of the algal fossils and the extant microorganisms indicates the possible interpretation that some of the embryo-like fossils belong to animal embryo, others are algae, but none of them originate from bacteria.  相似文献

The linkage between the iron and the carbon cycles is of paramount importance to understand and quantify the effect of increased CO2 concentrations in natural waters on the mobility of iron and associated trace elements. In this context, we have quantified the thermodynamic stability of mixed Fe(III) hydroxo-carbonate complexes and their effect on the solubility of Fe(III) oxihydroxides. We present the results of carefully performed solubility measurements of 2-line ferrihydrite in the slightly acidic to neutral–alkaline pH ranges (3.8–8.7) under constant pCO2 varying between (0.982–98.154 kPa) at 25 °C.The outcome of the work indicates the predominance of two Fe(III) hydroxo carbonate complexes FeOHCO3 and Fe(CO3)33−, with formation constants log*β°1,1,1 = 10.76 ± 0.38 and log β°1,0,3 = 24.24 ± 0.42, respectively. The solubility constant for the ferrihydrite used in this study was determined in acid conditions (pH: 1.8–3.2) in the absence of CO2 and at T = (25 ± 1) °C, as log*Ks,0 = 1.19 ± 0.41.The relative stability of the Fe(III)-carbonate complexes in alkaline pH conditions has implications for the solubility of Fe(III) in CO2-rich environments and the subsequent mobilisation of associated trace metals that will be explored in subsequent papers.  相似文献

Although oil cracking has been documented as one of the important sources of gas in many overmature marine sedimentary basins, the chemical and carbon isotopic signatures of gases of this origin are still open to question. In this study a Cambrian crude oil from the central Tarim basin, along with its main separated fractions (saturates, aromatics and asphaltenes), were pyrolyzed in sealed gold tubes to investigate how generated gases vary in chemical and carbon isotopic composition and how this variation would influence the genetic interpretation of oil cracking gas. The results indicate that the gases from cracking of aromatics and asphaltenes are much drier and more enriched in 13C than the gases from the cracking of saturates and crude oil at the same level of thermal maturity. In the experimental run of 20 °C/h, the dryness index of the gases (defined as the volume percentage of C1 in C1–5) from the cracking of saturates ranges from 26.2–90.6% with the methane carbon isotope change ranging from −54.8‰ to −35.5‰, whereas the dryness index is never lower than 60.6% for the gases from the cracking of aromatics with methane carbon isotope ranging from −39.9‰ to −32.2‰. Correspondingly, experimental data for the four samples plot in different areas in diagrams designed to distinguish oil cracking gas from kerogen cracking gas, such as ln(C2/C3) vs. δ13C2δ13C3 and δ13C1 vs. δ13C2δ13C3, indicating compositional variability of crude oil could assert an important influence in these diagrams. Therefore it is prudent to bring other geological constraints into consideration to avoid misinterpretation. The kinetic parameters for the bulk generation of C1–5 gas and the methane carbon isotope fractionation extrapolated to geological conditions of 2 °C/Ma and an initial temperature of 50 °C show that the temperatures of C1–5 gas generation from the aromatics and asphaltenes are lower than those from the saturates and crude oil due to their lower activation energies and frequency factors. Generation of C1–5 gases from the aromatics is modeled to be initiated about 122 °C whereas the initiation temperature for the saturates sample is 176 °C. Below 189 °C (EasyRo = 1.8%), the yields of C1–5 gases follow the order: aromatics > asphaltenes > crude oil > saturates. At similar thermal maturity levels, the methane carbon isotopic compositions are significantly different for the four samples, with an order of 13C enrichment: aromatics > asphaltenes > crude oil > saturates, however the difference in methane carbon isotopes becomes smaller with increasing temperature. This indicates that methane carbon isotopic values can be significantly different for gases cracked from oils that are compositionally diverse, especially in the early stage of methane generation.  相似文献
