本文使用IRAS巡天数据的最新版本IRAS巡天图(ISSA—coadded),经过进一步处理,得到了S140分子云复合体红外发射的强度、温度及尘埃的分布图。分析结果表明,分子云复合体(在35角秒范围内)的红外发射总光度为2.9×104L⊙,S140区在各波段的分布里各向同性,红外连续发射在12μm和100μm有着较大的延伸,热而小的尘埃微粒的平均色温是184K,冷而大的尘埃平均色温为29K。另外,在S140电离氢区—分子云复合体的核心部分(尤其是西部边缘和东部红外点源星团附近区域)有大量恒星正处于形成之中。  相似文献

本文使用IRAS巡天数据的最新版本IRAS巡天图(ISSA),经过进一步处理,得到了S141分子云复合体红外发射的强度、温度及尘埃的分布图。分析结果表明,分子云复合体(在15角秒的统计范围内)的红外发射总光度为1.71×103L⊙,热而小的尘埃微粒的平均色温是178.5K,冷而大的尘埃平均色温为26.8K。分子云复合体中有三个明显的密集发射区,在东北边缘另有一相对弱的密度发射区。分析表明,S140电离氢区—分子云复合体中很可能有低质量呈正在形成。电离氢区S141的激发星很可能是位于其边缘的红外点源22268+6122的光学对应体。  相似文献

本论文用IRAS巡天数据的最新版本ISSA,经过进一步处理,得到了S140、S141、S142SharplessHⅡ区—分子云复合体的红外发射强度、温度及其光深的分布图。在此基础上对各HⅡ区的特性参量进行了统计分析,得到了分子云复合体的红外发射总光度以及复合体中尘埃的分布情况,对尘埃中VSG的丰度作出了分析。并对各恒星形成区中的致密团块进行了研究,揭示出其中一些可能的恒星形成区域。同时对S140区中的有关红外点源作出了能谱分折,并对S141区的激发星进行了讨论。第一章对红外天文学研究及其特点作出了分析,并集中介绍了HⅡ区的有关情况;第二章给出了IRAS红外天文卫星及其数据资料的一些情况;第三章、第四章和第五章,重点给出了ISSA图像资料的处理和各HⅡ区的征对性分析及所得结论。文中图像分析所用的一些辅助工具(如用于ISSA定位分析的IRAF坐标系和赤道坐标系的转换程序等)出于作者之手,另外,本文分析所用红外天空巡天图由IPAC提供,而红外发射强度图、红外色温和光深分布图以及有关统计分析则隶属于作者的图像处理结果。  相似文献

利用Masachusets-StonyBrook的12CO的分辨率为47″的银道面巡天和IRAS的分辨率为15′的红外巡天图像资料,系统地进行了l=8°~38°,b=-1°~+1°天区内不同分子云演化阶段与恒星形成过程的对比研究.将上述天区划分成30个小区,通过图像处理,得到了每个小区的CO(1-0)和波长60μm上远红外发射的空间分布,计算出相应天区的分子云复合体的红外色温度和光深分布,结合IRAS红外点源和HII区星表,把分子云从年轻到年老的演化阶段分成四大类,分析了它们的主要特征以及与恒星形成过程的关系.文章最后对超致密HII区和原恒星候选体沿银经的分布,以及HII区和原恒星候选体与分子云成协的比例进行了统计研究,再次说明在银河系中恒星形成活动仍在不断地发生和进行.  相似文献

使用IRAS天空流量图,在校正了黄道光发射后,得到了S252复合体的弥散红外发射的强度、温度及尘埃的分布。结果表明,这个复合体的弥散红外发射的总光度为1.8×10~5L_⊙,其中2/3来源于早型星加热,其余的来源于星际辐射场。在电离氢区内,尘埃是严重减损的,复合体有着复杂的结构,这种结构可以用诞生于分子云边缘的早型星HD42088的星风或电离辐射与母云的相互作用来解释。  相似文献

对恒星形成区CepOB4的IRAS观测结果的详细分析和研究表明,与年轻星团Be59相联系的分子云物质的原始分布是高度成块的。Be59诞生于一个平均密度为100─200cm(-3)云的背向太阳一侧。强烈的电离辐射以及星风已经在其诞生地产生了一个半径大约为5pc的"水泡型(Blister)"电离氢区及与之相关的红外源。电离辐射也穿过云际介质到达与母云分离的另两个云的表面,形成了从侧面看到的电离波前及被压缩和加热的中性物质壳。在这个恒星形成区中,虽然有大量年轻恒星存在,但大质量恒星的形成已经停止。红外发射主要起源于标准尘埃粒子的热平衡发射。但在主激发星团Be59附近的HII区中25μm发射的显著增强可能与某种与电离气体相混合的新型尘埃粒子有关。  相似文献

利用紫金山天文台青海站的13.7m毫米波望远镜,对NGC1333/IRAS6-9附近的一个10.3'X10'和6.8'X8'的恒星形成区,进行了13CO(1-0)和C18O(1-0)的成图观测,发现了多个新的分子云核和沿SSV12-IRASS方向的13CO(1-O)双极外向流.本文给出了每个云核的观测特性和物理参数.分析了这一区域的云核分布和速度场结构.详细讨论了该区域的云核分布、双极外向流和群集的年轻天体、红外源以及HH天体的关系.  相似文献

The infrared emission of the H II region-molecular cloud complexes S 140, S 141 and S 142 is examined using the IRAS Sky Survey Atlases. The IRAF and Skyview software are used to draw the contour maps of infrared intensity, color temperature and optical depth of each source. The total infrared luminosity and dust distribution in the complexes are given. Compact clumps where star formation probably takes place are identified. We present SWS grating scans of pure H2 rotational lines, as well as several infrared fine-structure lines for two embedded Young Stellar Objects, S106 IR and Cep A East. Excitation temperatures and masses were derived from the low-lying pure rotational levels of H2 and are 490 and 740 K and 0.04 and 0.007 M⊙ for S106 and Cep A, respectively. The observations were compared to theoretical models for PDRs and dissociative and non-dissociative shocks. The infrared spectrum of S106 IR is dominated by PDR emission while that of Cep A East has a large shock component. We suggest that the difference between these two objects could reflect an evolutionary trend. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A relation between the infrared color K-[12] and the mass loss rate, dM/dt,is found for the intrinsic S stars. This relation is qualitatively similarto the ones for carbon stars and oxygen-rich Mira stars, but quantitativelydifferent. It could be useful in the context of the near infrared surveys,DENIS and 2MASS, which are in progress. Correlations between J-K and[12]–[25] indices and dM/dt are found to be loose for S stars.  相似文献

Three Galactic star forming regions associated with W3(OH), S209 and S187 have been simultaneously mapped in two trans-IRAS far infrared (FIR) bands centered at ≈140 and 200μm using the TIFR 100 cm balloon borne FIR telescope. These maps show extended FIR emission with structures. The HIRES processed IRAS maps of these regions at 12, 25, 60 & 100 ìm have also been presented for comparison. Point-like sources have been extracted from the longest waveband TIFR maps and searched for associations in the other five bands. The diffuse emission from these regions have been quantified, which turns out to be a significant fraction of the total emission. The spatial distribution of cold dust (T < 30 K) for two of these sources (W3(OH) & S209), has been determined reliably from the maps in TIFR bands. The dust temperature and optical depth maps show complex morphology. In general the dust around S209 has been found to be warmer than that in W3(OH) region.  相似文献

We present a study of the local B - and K s-band Tully–Fisher relation (TFR) between absolute magnitude and maximum circular speed in S0 galaxies. To make this study, we have combined kinematic data, including a new high-quality spectral data set from the Fornax cluster, with homogeneous photometry from the Third Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies and Two Micron All Sky Survey catalogues, to construct the largest sample of S0 galaxies ever used in a study of the TFR. Independent of environment, S0 galaxies are found to lie systematically below the TFR for nearby spirals in both optical and infrared bands. This offset can be crudely interpreted as arising from the luminosity evolution of spiral galaxies that have faded since ceasing star formation.
However, we also find a large scatter in the TFR. We show that most of this scatter is intrinsic, not due to the observational uncertainties. The presence of such a large scatter means that the population of S0 galaxies cannot have formed exclusively by the above simple fading mechanism after all transforming at a single epoch. To better understand the complexity of the transformation mechanism, we have searched for correlations between the offset from the TFR and other properties of the galaxies such as their structural properties, central velocity dispersions and ages (as estimated from line indices). For the Fornax cluster data, the offset from the TFR correlates with the estimated age of the stars in the individual galaxies, in the sense and of the magnitude expected if S0 galaxies had passively faded since being converted from spirals. This correlation implies that a significant part of the scatter in the TFR arises from the different times at which galaxies began their transformation.  相似文献

Infrared spectra of Io in the region 2.5-5.0 micrometers, including new observational data, are analyzed using detailed laboratory studies of plausible surface ices. Besides the absorption bands attributable to sulfur dioxide frosts, four infrared spectral features of Io are shown to be unidentified. These unidentified features show spatial and temporal band strength variations. One pair is centered around 3.9 micrometers (3.85 and 3.91 micrometers) and the second pair is centered around 3.0 micrometers (2.97 and 3.15 micrometers). These absorptions fall close to the fundamental stretching modes in H2S and H2O, respectively. The infrared absorption spectra of an extensive set of laboratory ices ranging from pure materials, to binary mixtures of H2S and H2O (either mixed at different concentrations or layered), to H2O:H2S:SO2 mixtures are discussed. The effects of ultraviolet irradiation (120 and 160 nm) and temperature variation (from 9 to 130 K) on the infrared spectra of the ices are examined. This comparative study of Io reflectance spectra with the laboratory mixed ice transmission data shows the following: (1) Io's surface most likely contains H2S and H2O mixed with SO2. The 3.85- and 3.91-micrometers bands in the Io spectra can be accounted for by the absorption of the S-H stretching vibration (nu 1) in H2S clusters and isolated molecules in an SO2-dominated ice. The weak 2.97- and 3.15-micrometers bands which vary spatially and temporally in the Io spectra coincide with the nu 3 and nu 1 O-H stretching vibrations of clusters of H2O molecules complexed, through hydrogen bonding and charge transfer interactions, with SO2. (2) The observations are well matched qualitatively by the transmission spectra of SO2 ices containing about 3% H2S and 0.1% H2O which have been formed by the condensation of a mixture of the gases onto a 100 K surface. (3) No new features are produced in the region 2.5 to 5.0 micrometers in the spectrum of these ices under prolonged ultraviolet irradiation or temperature variation up to 120 K. (4) Comparison of the Io spectra to transmission spectra of both mixed molecular ices and layered ices indicates that only the former can explain the shifts and splitting of the absorption bands seen in the Io spectrum and additionally can account for the fact that solid H2S is observed in the surface material of Io at temperature and pressure conditions above the sublimation point of pure H2S.  相似文献

The evolution of the morphology of C/1999 S4 (LINEAR) is examined from aseries of images taken from shortly before the disruption of the nucleus until10 days afterwards. This is combined with light curve data to provide a uniquedocumentation of the early evolution of the disruption event. Neither imagesfrom the 1-m Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope nor the 2.5-m Isaac Newton Telescopeat the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain)show no evidence of bright sub-nuclei, although the presence of a well-definedstable lance-point structure in the head of the comet indicates that a dust and gasproducing source remained active in this region. The centre of brightness of thecoma moved in the anti-solar direction at a few tens of metres per second afterdisruption indicating that it was a mainly dust structure. The contrast in thefragmentation history of comets such as C/1999 S4, C/2001 A2 and 141P/Machholz2 suggests that there is a wide variation in nucleus properties from highly unstableand loosely bound rubble piles to relatively consolidated conglomerates.  相似文献

The intent of this study is to determine the nature of the star and associated nebulosity S 235 B, which are located in a region of active star formation still heavily obscured by the parent molecular cloud. Low-resolution  ( R = 400)  long-slit spectra of the star and nebulosity, and medium-  ( R = 1800)  and high-resolution  ( R = 60 000)  spectra of the central star are presented along with the results of Fabry–Perot interferometric imaging of the entire region. Based on the long-slit and Fabry–Perot observations, the nebulosity appears to be entirely reflective in nature, with the stellar component S 235 B★ providing most of the illuminating flux. The stellar source itself is classified here as a B1V star, with emission-line profiles indicative of an accretion disc. S 235 B★ thus belongs to the relatively rare class of early-type Hebrig Be stars. Based on the intensity of the reflected component, it is concluded that the accretion disc must be viewed nearly edge-on. Estimates of the accretion rate of S 235 B★ from the width of the Hα profile at 10 per cent of maximum intensity, a method which has been used lately for T Tauri stars and Brown Dwarfs, appear to be inconsistent with the mass outflow rate and accretion rate implied from previous infrared observations by Felli et al., suggesting this empirical law does not extend to higher masses.  相似文献

We present UBVRI broad-band, Hα narrow-band photometry of the star-forming complexes in the infrared bright galaxy NGC 1084. Results of medium-resolution spectroscopy of some of the brighter complexes are also discussed. Spectroscopic data are used to better estimate the internal reddening within the galaxy which is found to be highly variable and to calculate metallicity which is close to the solar value. A diagnostic diagram identifies the shocked regions within this galaxy. The narrow-band Hα flux and its equivalent width are used to determine the star formation rates of the complexes and the distribution of ages. Star formation rates for a few of the complexes are found to be as high as  0.5 M yr−1  . The star-forming complexes lie in the age range 3 to 6.5 Myr. A U − B versus V − I colour–colour mixed population model created using the Starburst99 model colours is used to estimate the ages of the stellar populations present within these regions. Using this technique, it is found that the star formation in NGC 1084 has taken place in a series of short bursts over the last 40 Myr or so. It is proposed that the likely trigger for enhanced star formation is merger with a gas-rich dwarf galaxy.  相似文献
