The quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) in black hole (BH) systems with different scales are interpreted based on the magnetic reconnection of large-scale magnetic fields generated by toroidal electric currents flowing in the inner region of the accretion disk, where the current density is assumed to be proportional to the mass density of the accreting plasma. The magnetic connection (MC) is taken into account in resolving dynamic equations describing the accretion disk, in which the MC between the inner and outer disk regions, between the plunging region and the disk, and between the BH horizon and the disk are involved. It turns out that a single QPO frequency associated with several BH systems with different scales can be fitted by invoking the magnetic reconnection due to the MC between the inner and outer regions of the disk, including the BH binaries XTE J1859+226, XTE J1650-500 and GRS 1915+105 and the massive BHs in NGC 5408 X-1 and RE J1034+396. In addition, the X-ray spectra corresponding to the QPOs for these sources are fitted based on the typical disk-corona model.  相似文献

We apply the jet-powered ILOT scenario to two recently studied intermediate luminosity optical transients(ILOTs),and find the relevant shell mass and jets' energy that might account for the outbursts of these ILOTs.In the jet-powered ILOT scenario,an accretion disk around one of the stars of a binary system launches jets. The interaction of the jets with a previously ejected slow shell converts kinetic energy to thermal energy, part of which is radiated away.We apply two models of the jet-powered ILOT scenario. In the spherical shell model, the jets accelerate a spherical shell, while in the cocoon toy model the jets penetrate into the shell and inflate hot bubbles, the cocoons. We find consistent results. For the ILOT(ILRT:intermediate luminosity red transient) SNhunt120 we find the shell mass and jets' energy to be Ms■0.5-1 M_☉ and E_(2 j)■5×10~(47) erg, respectively. The jets' half opening angle is α_j■30°-60°.For the second peak of the ILOT(luminous red nova) AT 2014 ej we find these quantities to be M_s1-2 M_☉ and E_(2 j)1.5×10~(48) erg, with αj■20°-30°.The models cannot tell whether these ILOTs were powered by a stellar merger that leaves one star,or by mass transfer where both stars survived. In both cases the masses of the shells and energies of the jets suggest that the binary progenitor system was massive, with a combined mass of M_1+M_210 ■M_☉.  相似文献

The penetration depth of Saturn’s cloud-level winds into its interior is unknown.A possible way of estimating the depth is through measurement of the effect of the winds on the planet’s gravitational field. We use a self-consistent perturbation approach to study how the equatorially symmetric zonal winds of Saturn contribute to its gravitational field. An important advantage of this approach is that the variation of its gravitational field solely caused by the winds can be isolated and identified because the leading-order problem accounts exactly for rotational distortion, thereby determining the irregular shape and internal structure of the hydrostatic Saturn. We assume that(i)the zonal winds are maintained by thermal convection in the form of non-axisymmetric columnar rolls and(ii)the internal structure of the winds, because of the Taylor-Proundman theorem, can be uniquely determined by the observed cloud-level winds. We calculate both the variation △J_n,n=2,4,6...of the axisymmetric gravitational coefficients J_n caused by the zonal winds and the non-axisymmetric gravitational coefficients △J_(nm) produced by the columnar rolls, where m is the azimuthal wavenumber of the rolls. We consider three different cases characterized by the penetration depth 0.36 R_S,0.2 R_S and 0.1 R_S,where R_S is the equatorial radius of Saturn at the 1-bar pressure level. We find that the high-degree gravitational coefficient ( J_(12)+△J_(12)) is dominated,in all the three cases,by the effect of the zonal flow with |△J_(12)/J_(12)|100%and that the size of the non-axisymmetric coefficientsdirectly reflects the depth and scale of the flow taking place in the Saturnian interior.  相似文献

A set of two-dimensional Stokes spectral data of NOAA AR 10197 obtained by the Solar Stokes Spectral Telescope (S3T) at the Yunnan Observatory are qualitatively analyzed. The three components of the vector magnetic field, the strength H, inclinationγand azimuth X, are derived. Based on the three components, we contour the distributions of the longitudinal magnetic field and transverse magnetic field. The active region (AR) has two different magnetic polarities apparent in the longitudinal magnetic map due to projection effect. There is a basic agreement on the longitudinal magnetic fields between the S3T and SOHO/MDI magnetograms, with a correlation coefficientρBl = 0.911. The transverse magnetic field of the AR has a radial distribution from a center located in the southwest of the AR. It is also found that the transverse magnetic fields obtained by Huairou Solar Observing Station (HRSOS) have a similar radial distribution. The distributions of transverse magnetic field obtained by S3T and HRSOS have correlation coefficients,ρAzimu = 0.86 andρBt = 0.883, in regard to the azimuthal angle and intensity.  相似文献

We present an interior model of Saturn with an ice-rock core,a metallic region,an outer molecular envelope and a thin transition layer between the metallic and molecular regions. The shape of Saturn’s 1 bar surface is irregular and determined fully self-consistently by the required equilibrium condition. While the ice-rock core is assumed to have a uniform density, three different equations of state are adopted for the metallic, molecular and transition regions. The Saturnian model is constrained by its known mass, its known equatorial and polar radii, and its known zonal gravitational coefficients,J_(2n),n=1,2,3.The model produces an ice-rock core with equatorial radius 0.203 R_S,where R_S is the equatorial radius of Saturn at the 1-bar pressure surface;the core densityρ_c=10388.1 kgm~(3)corresponding to 13.06 Earth masses;and an analytical expression describing the Saturnian irregular shape of the 1-bar pressure level. The model also predicts the values of the higher-order gravitational coefficients,J_8,J_10 and J_12,for the hydrostatic Saturn and suggests that Saturn’s convective dynamo operates in the metallic region approximately defined by 0.2 R_Sre0.7 R_S,where r_e denotes the equatorial radial distance from the Saturnian center of figure.  相似文献

Solar atmosphere is a rotating plasma shell filled by magnetic field. The coupling between the magnetic and the movement of plasma makes a variety of magnetohydrodynamic phenomena in the solar atmosphere. After giving a brief introduction on the basic theoretical regime of solar MHD, we describe mainly the magnetohydrodynamic aspects of solar flares, solar prominences (filaments) and flux tubes with different scales. Some future works are also discussd.  相似文献

We summarize studies of helical properties of solar magnetic fields such as current helicity and twist of magnetic fields in solar active regions (ARs), that are observational tracers of the alpha-effect in the solar convective zone (SCZ). Information on their spatial distribution is obtained by analysis of systematic mag-netographic observations of active regions taken at Huairou Solar Observing Station of National Astronomical Observatories of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main property is that the tracers of the alpha-effect are antisymmetric about the solar equator. Identifying longitudinal migration of active regions with their individual rotation rates and taking into account the internal differential rotation law within the SCZ known from helioseismology, we deduce the distribution of the effect over depth. We have found evidence that the alpha-effect changes its value and sign near the bottom of the SCZ, and this is in accord with the theoretical studies and numerical simulations. We discuss  相似文献

We study the effect of strong magnetic fields on the structure of neutronstar. We find that if the interior field is on the same order as the surface field currently observed, then the influences of the field on the star‘s mass and radius arenegligible; if the field is as large as that estimated from the scalar virial theorem, then considerable effects will be induced. The maximum mass of the star will be increased substantially while the central density is greatly reduced. The radius of a magnetic star can be larger by about 10%~20% than a nonmagnetic star of the same mass.  相似文献

Magnetars are proposed to be peculiar neutron stars which could power their X-ray radiation by super-strong magnetic fields as high as 10~(14) G.However,no direct evidence for such strong fields has been obtained till now,and the recent discovery of low magnetic field magnetars even indicates that some more efficient radiation mechanism than magnetic dipole radiation should be included. In this paper, quantum vacuum friction(QVF) is suggested to be a direct consequence of super-strong surface fields, therefore the magnetar model could then be tested further through QVF braking. The high surface magnetic field of a pulsar interacting with the quantum vacuum results in a significantly high spindown rate(P).It is found that a QVF dominates the energy loss of pulsars when the pulsar's rotation period and its first derivative satisfy the relationship P~3P 0.63 ×10~(-16)ξ~(-4) s~2,whereξ is the ratio of the surface magnetic field over the dipole magnetic field. In the "QVF + magnetodipole" joint braking scenario, the spindown behavior of magnetars should be quite different from that in the pure magnetodipole model. We are expecting these results could be tested by magnetar candidates, especially low magnetic field cases,in the future.  相似文献

The solar active region NOAA 11719 produced a large two-ribbon flare on 2013 April 11. We have investigated sudden variations in the photospheric magnetic fields in this active region during the flare by employing magnetograms obtained in the spectral line Fe I 6173 A? acquired by the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager(HMI) onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory(SDO) spacecraft. The analysis of the line-of-sight magnetograms from HMI show sudden and persistent magnetic field changes at different locations of the active region before the onset of the flare and during the flare. The vector magnetic field observations available from HMI also show coincident variations in the total magnetic field strength and its inclination angle at these locations. Using the simultaneous Dopplergrams obtained from HMI, we observe perturbations in the photospheric Doppler signals following the sudden changes in the magnetic fields in the aforementioned locations. The power spectrum analysis of these velocity signals shows enhanced acoustic power in these affected locations during the flare as compared to the pre-flare condition. Accompanying these observations, we have also used nearly simultaneous chromospheric observations obtained in the spectral line Hα 6562.8 A? by the Global Oscillation Network Group(GONG) to study the evolution of flareribbons and intensity oscillations in this active region. The Hα intensity oscillations also show enhanced oscillatory power during the flare in the aforementioned locations. These results indicate that the transient Lorentz force associated with sudden changes in the magnetic fields could drive localized photospheric and chromospheric oscillations, like the flare-induced oscillations in the solar atmosphere.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect of magnetic fields on the dynamics of magnetized filamentary molecular clouds. We suppose there is a filament with cylindrical symmetry and two components of axial and toroidal magnetic fields. In comparison to previous works, the novelty in the present work involves a similarity solution that does not define a function of the magnetic fields or density. We consider the effect of the magnetic field on the collapse of the filament in both axial and toroidal directions and show that the magnetic field has a braking effect, which means that the increasing intensity of the magnetic field reduces the velocity of collapse. This is consistent with other studies. We find that the magnetic field in the central region tends to be aligned with the filament axis. Also, the magnitude and the direction of the magnetic field depend on the magnitude and direction of the initial magnetic field in the outer region. Moreover,we show that more energy dissipation from the filament causes a rise in the infall velocity.  相似文献

Attitude stabilization of a charged rigid spacecraft in Low Earth Orbit using torques due to Lorentz force in pitch and roll directions is considered. A spacecraft that generates an electrostatic charge on its surface in the Earth's magnetic field will be subject to perturbations from the Lorentz force. The Lorentz force acting on an electrostatically charged spacecraft may provide a useful thrust for controlling a spacecraft's orientation. We assume that the spacecraft is moving in the Earth's magnetic field in an elliptical orbit under the effects of gravitational, geomagnetic and Lorentz torques. The magnetic field of the Earth is modeled as a non-tilted dipole.A model incorporating all Lorentz torques as a function of orbital elements has been developed on the basis of electric and magnetic fields. The stability of the spacecraft orientation is investigated both analytically and numerically. The existence and stability of equilibrium positions is investigated for different values of the charge to mass ratio(α*). Stable orbits are identified for various values of α*. The main parameters for stabilization of the spacecraft are α*and the difference between the components of the moment of inertia for the spacecraft.  相似文献

Magnetic Energy of Force-Free Fields with Detached Field Lines   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Using an axisymmetrical ideal MHD model in spherical coordinates, we present a numerical study of magnetic configurations characterized by a levitating flux rope embedded in a bipolar background field whose normal field at the solar surface is the same or very close to that of a central dipole. The characteristic plasma β (the ratio between gas pressure and magnetic pressure) is taken to be sosmall (β= 10^-4) that the magnetic field is close to being force-free. The system as a whole is then let evolve quasi-statically with a slow increase of either the annular magnetic flux or the axial magnetic flux of the rope, and the total magneticenergy of the system grows accordingly. It is found that there exists an energy threshold: the flux rope sticks to the solar surface in equilibrium if the magneticenergy of the system is below the threshold, whereas it loses equilibrium if the threshold is exceeded. The energy threshold is found to be larger than that of thecorresponding fully-open magnetic field by a factor of nearly 1.08 irrespective as towhether the background field is completely closed or partly open, or whether the magnetic energy is enhanced by an increase of annular or axial flux of the rope. This gives an example showing that a force-free magnetic field may have an energy larger than the corresponding open field energy if part of the field lines is allowed tobe detached from the solar surface. The implication of such a conclusion in coronal mass ejections is briefly discussed and some comments are made on the maximum energy of force-free magnetic fields.  相似文献

The optical flash accompanying GRB 990123 is believed to be powered by the reverse shock of a thin shell. With the best-fit physical parameters for GRB 990123 and the assumption that the parameters in the optical flash are the same as in the afterglow, we show that: 1) the shell is thick rather than thin, and we have provided the light curve for the thick shell case which coincides with the observation; 2) the theoretical peak flux of the optical flash accounts for only 3×10~-4 of the observed. In order to remove this discrepancy, the physical parameters, the electron energy and magnetic ratios, εe and εB, should be 0.61 and 0.39, which are very different from their values for the late afterglow.  相似文献

The narrowness of the distribution of the peak energy of the vFv spectrum of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and the unification of GRB populations are great puzzles yet to be solved. We investigate the two puzzles based on the global spectral behaviors of different GRB populations, the long GRBs, the short GRBs, and the X-ray flashes (XRFs), in the HR - Ep plane (HR the spectral hardness ratio) with BATSE and HETE-2 observations. It is found that the long GRBs and the XRFs observed by HETE-2 seem to follow the same sequence in the HR-Ep plane, with the XRFs at the low end of this sequence. We fit the sequence by a universal Band function, and find that this sequence is mainly defined by the low energy index α, and is insensitive to the high energy index,β. With fixed β=-5, a best fit is given by α=-1.00 with X^2min/dof=2.2. The long and short GRBs observed by BATSE follow significantly different sequences in the HR-Ep plane, with most of the short GRBs having a larger hardness ratio than the long GRBs at a given Ep. For the long GRBs a best-fit yields α=-0.30 and β=-2.05. For the short GRBs, a best fit gives α=-0.60 with x^2min=1.1 (withβfixed at-2.0 because it is numerically unstable). The α value for the short GRBs is significantly greater than that for the long GRBs. These results indicate that the global spectral behaviors of the long GRB sample and the XRF sample are similar, while that of the short GRBs is different. The short GRBs seem to be a unique subclass of GRBs, and they are not the higher energy extension of the long GRBs.  相似文献

We conduct one-dimensional stellar evolution simulations of red supergiant(RSG) stars that mimic common envelope evolution(CEE) and find that the inner boundary of the envelope convective zone moves into the initial envelope radiative zone. The envelope convection practically disappears only when the RSG radius decreases by about an order of magnitude or more. The implication is that one cannot split the CEE into one stage during which the companion spirals-in inside the envelope convective zone...  相似文献

I present a novel mechanism to boost magnetic field amplification of newly born neutron stars in core collapse supernovae. In this mechanism, that operates in the jittering jets explosion mechanism and comes on top of the regular magnetic field amplification by turbulence, the accretion of stochastic angular momentum in core collapse supernovae forms a neutron star with strong initial magnetic fields but with a slow rotation. The varying angular momentum of the accreted gas, which is unique to the jittering jets explosion mechanism, exerts a varying azimuthal shear on the magnetic fields of the accreted mass near the surface of the neutron star. This,I argue, can form an amplifying effect which I term the stochastic omega(Sω) effect. In the common αω dynamo the rotation has constant direction and value, and hence supplies a constant azimuthal shear, while the convection has a stochastic behavior. In the Sω dynamo the stochastic angular momentum is different from turbulence in that it operates on a large scale, and it is different from a regular rotational shear in being stochastic. The basic assumption is that because of the varying direction of the angular momentum axis from one accretion episode to the next, the rotational flow of an accretion episode stretches the magnetic fields that were amplified in the previous episode.I estimate the amplification factor of the Sω dynamo alone to be ≈ 10.I speculate that the Sω effect accounts for a recent finding that many neutron stars are born with strong magnetic fields.  相似文献

It is widely believed that magnetic reconnection plays an important role in various eruptive phenomena of space and astrophysical plasmas. The mechanism of anomalous resistivity, however, has been an open and unsolved problem. The chaos-induced resistivity proposed by Yoshida et al.is one of possible mechanisms for anomalous resistivity.By use of the test particle simulation, the present work studies the chaos-induced resistivity for different configurations of reconnection magnetic fields and its distribution in different chaos regions of reconnection current sheets. The results show that the chaos-induced resistivity can be 6-7 orders of magnitude higher than the classical Spitzer resistivity in the X-type chaos regions and 5 orders of magnitude in the O-type chaos regions. Moreover,in the X-type chaos regions the chaosinduced resistivity of the magnetized case is higher by a factor of 2 to 3 times than that of the unmagnetized case, but in the O-type chaos regions the chaos-induced resistivity of the magnetized case is close to or lower than that of the unmagnetized case. The present work is helpful to the understanding of the dynamics of reconnection current sheets, especially of the generation mechanism of the anomalous resistivity of collisionless reconnection regions.  相似文献

We investigated the evolutionary stages and disk properties of 211 young stellar objects(YSOs) across the Perseus cloud by modeling their broadband optical to mid-infrared(IR) spectral energy distribution(SED). Our optical gri photometry data were obtained from the recently finished Purple Mountain Observatory Xuyi Schmidt Telescope Photometric Survey of the Galactic Anti-center(XSTPS-GAC).About 81% of our sample fall into the Stage II phase which is characterized by having optically thick disks, while 14% into the Stage I phase characterized by having significant infalling envelopes, and the remaining 5% into the Stage Ⅲ phase characterized by having optically thin disks. The median stellar age and mass of the Perseus YSOs are 3.1 Myr and 0.3 M⊙ respectively. By exploring the relationships among the turnoff wave bands λturnoff(longward of which significant IR excesses above the stellar photosphere are observed), the excess spectral index αexcess as determined for λ λturnoff, and the disk inner radius Rin(determined from SED modeling) for YSOs at different evolutionary stages, we found that the median and standard deviation of αexcess for YSOs with optically thick disks tend to increase withλturnoff, especially at λturnoff ≥5.8 μm, whereas the median fractional dust luminosities Ldust/L★ tend to decrease with increasing λturnoff. This points to an inside-out process of disk clearing for small dust grains. Moreover, a positive correlation between αexcess and Rin was found at αexcess ~ 0 and Rin~ 10 × the dust sublimation radius Rsub, irrespective of λturnoff, Ldust/L★ and disk flaring. This suggests that the outer disk flaring either does not evolve synchronously with the inside-out disk clearing of small dust grains or has little appreciable influence on the spectral slopes at λ~ 24 μm. About 23% of our YSO disks are classified as transitional disks, which haveλturnoff ≥ 5.8 μm and Ldust/L★ 10-3. The transitional disks and full disks occupy distinctly different regions on the Ldust/L★ vs. αexcess diagram. Taking Ldust/L★ as an approximate discriminator of disks with(0.1) and without(0.1) considerable accretion activity, we found that 65% and 35% of the transitional disks may be consistent with being dominantly cleared by photoevaporation and dynamical interaction with giant planets respectively. None of our transitional disks have αexcess(0.0) or Ldust/L★(0.1) values that would otherwise be suggestive of disk clearing dominanted by grain growth.  相似文献

The generation of magnetic fields of galaxies is usually described by the dynamo mechanism. This process is characterized by the Steenbeck-Krause-Radler equation, which is the result of averaging the magnetohydrodynamics equations by distances which are associated with the size of turbulent cells in the interstellar medium. This equation is quite difficult to solve both from an analytical and numerical point of view. For galaxies, the no-z approximation is widely used.It describes the magnetic fields in thin discs. For such objects, where it is important to study the vertical structure of the field,it is not very applicable,so it is quite useful to adopt the RZ-model,which takes into account the dependence of the distance from the equatorial plane.During our research we have obtained the critical values of the dynamo number for galaxies with large half-thickness.We have also described typical z-structure for the magnetic field. Moreover,we have demonstrated that it is possible to generate dipolar magnetic fields.  相似文献
