In order to improve the light curve solutions we suggest to use a new approach. A library of the Fourier-coefficients (up to 20th term) of (several millions of) light curves was constructed each of the light curves has different input parameters. A light curve solution is made in a very fast way: its discrete Fourier-transform yields not more than some simple number which are compared to the Fourier-coefficients in the library. A chi-squared test can help us to estimate very good initial parameters for the differential correction analysis. The library can also be used to study the uniqeness problem of the light curve solutions. Here we investigated the uniqueness of the spot solution of SV Cam.  相似文献

The light curve modeling of binary stars has continued to evolve since its founding by Henry Norris Russell (see Russell and Merrill 1952 and citations therein) nearly a century ago, accelerated in the 1950s by Kopal's introduction of Roche geometry into models and by the development of synthetic light curve computer code in the 1970's. Improved physics and the use of more kinds of observational input are providing another round of important advances that promise to enlarge our knowledge of both binary stars and ensembles containing them. Here we discuss the newer horizons of light curve modeling and the steps being taken toward them.  相似文献

This work presents the light curves for rotating spotted stars generated by a computational code developed by us. This code is based in a model of the system and its analytical solution. The work also present an analysis of the photometric curve variations with the changes in the model's parameters.As a first result we have simulated a temporal evolution of the light curve when the photospheric spot varies its size and position and we reproduced some observational light curves of the II Peg star.Work supported by Dirección de Investigación, Universidad de La Serena, Chile.  相似文献

The Swift mission has discovered an intriguing feature of gamma-ray burst (GRBs) afterglows, a phase of shallow decline of the flux in the X-ray and optical light curves. This behaviour is typically attributed to energy injection into the burst ejecta. At some point this phase ends, resulting in a break in the light curve, which is commonly interpreted as the cessation of the energy injection. In a few cases, however, while breaks in the X-ray light curve are observed, optical emission continues its slow flux decline. This behaviour suggests a more complex scenario. In this paper, we present a model that invokes a double component outflow, in which narrowly collimated ejecta are responsible for the X-ray emission while a broad outflow is responsible for the optical emission. The narrow component can produce a jet break in the X-ray light curve at relatively early times, while the optical emission does not break due to its lower degree of collimation. In our model both components are subject to energy injection for the whole duration of the follow-up observations. We apply this model to GRBs with chromatic breaks, and we show how it might change the interpretation of the GRBs canonical light curve. We also study our model from a theoretical point of view, investigating the possible configurations of frequencies and the values of GRB physical parameters allowed in our model.  相似文献

The results of photometric observations of (87) Sylvia, 2006 VV2, (90) Antiopa, and (39) Laetitia asteroids in 2006–2008 are presented. The specific features of light curves are considered for each object. In particular, for asteroid (87) Sylvia, possible mutual phenomena in this triple system are identified. Asteroid 2006 VV2 manifests a strong dependence of the light curve on the filter color, which testifies to the presence of inhomogeneities on its surface. The previously unknown brightness variation period with a duration of about three days was obtained for this asteroid. For binary asteroid (90) Antiopa, the strong dependence of its brightness on the phase angle was noticed; this may testify to the very flattened shape of its components. Considerable time variations of the shape of the light curve for asteroid (39) Laetitia may testify either to its complex shape or to its binary character.  相似文献

本文介绍了超新星SN1987A爆发六年多来其热光度演化的研究情况.爆发后的前800天,观测的热光度曲线与由超新星爆发时合成的放射性元素的放射衰变加热模型符合得很好.但900天以后,观测的热光度曲线比考虑了所有放射性元素贡献后的理论曲线下降得还要缓慢.这可能表明有新的能源在起作用.我们认为这个新的能源可能是超新星爆发时产生的中子星的吸积.通过吸积超新星爆发时抛射气壳中小于逃逸速度的部分物质而增大SN1987A的热光度.这一模型能很好地解释900天以后的光度曲线的下降变级以及900至1200天之间光度曲线的凸起,这也为内部中子星的存在提供了间接的证据.  相似文献

We have collected the 37 GHz radio data of PKS 1510-089 from 1990 to 2005, and obtained its long-term light curve after making data processing. From the light curve we can find that the activity in PKS 1510-089 is very strong. In this paper, the Period04 method is used for the first time to analyze the light periodicity of PKS 1510-089. The result indicates that its radio emission at 37 GHz has the periods of (1.87±0.13) yr and (0.87±0.07) yr. This result is consistent with the results obtained by Xie et al. in 2004, 2005, 2008, and Wu et al. in 2005 with other methods of data analysis.  相似文献

BP Vulpeculae is a bright eclipsing binary system showing apsidal motion. It was found in an earlier study that it shows retrograde apsidal motion which contradicts theory. In this paper we present the first BV light curve of the system and its light curve solution as well as seven new times of the minima from the years 1959–1963. This way we could expanded the baseline of the investigation to five decades. Based on this longer baseline we concluded that the apsidal motion is prograde agreeing with the theoretical expectations and its period is about 365 years and the determined internal structure constant is close to the theoretically expected one.  相似文献

UBV observations of the short-period eclipsing binary BV Eri are reported and analyzed. The radial velocity curve is given. The system shows a light curve distortion, making an analysis difficult. A new CCD (V) light curve is presented for'the semi-detached binary system FU Ara. The light curve, obtained in 2007, is the first one since the last 50 years. With our data we were able to determine six new times of minimum light and refined the period of the system to 0.8645049 days. A Wilson-Devinney analysis leads to a solution of a semi-detached configuration, composed of a main-sequence primary component of spectral type F5, fractionally smaller than its Roche lobe, and an evolved secondary component of spectral type K I which fills its Roche lobe, and which is overluminous and oversized as compared with the main-sequence. The two components of FU Ara differ considerably in effective temperature. It is classified as an FO Virginis type of near-contact binary system. Assuming a reasonable value for the mass of the primary component, an estimate of the absolute elements of FU Ara has been made, on the assumption that the primary has a mass corresponding to its spectral type according to Svechnikov & Taidakova.  相似文献

Radial velocity data for both components of W Crv are presented. In spite of providing full radial-velocity information, the new data are not sufficient to establish the configuration of this important system because of large seasonal light curve perturbations, which prevent a combined light curve/radial-velocity solution. It is noted that the primary minimum is free of photometric perturbations, and this property may help to explain the elusive source of these perturbations. Photometrically, the system appears to be a contact binary with poor or absent energy exchange, but such an explanation – in view of the presence of light curve perturbations – is no more plausible than any one of the semi-detached configurations, with either the more-massive or less-massive components filling the associated Roche lobes. Lengthening of the orbital period and the size of the less-massive component above its main-sequence value, both suggest that the system is the shortest-period (0.388 d) known Algol with non-degenerate components.  相似文献

Triton, the large satellite of Neptune, was imaged by the Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1989 with dark plumes originating in its volatile-rich south polar region. Southern summer solstice, a time when seasonal volatile transport should be at a maximum, occurred in 2001. Ground-based observations of Triton’s rotational light curve obtained from Table Mountain Observatory in 2000-2004 reveal volatile transport on its surface. When compared with a static frost model constructed from Voyager images, the light curve shows an increase in total amplitude. An earlier light curve obtained in 1992 from Mauna Kea Observatory is consistent with the static frost model. This movement of volatiles on the surface agrees with recent imaging results from the Hubble Space Telescope (Bauer, J.M., Buratti, B.J., Li, J.-Y., Mosher, J.A., Hicks, M.D., Schmidt, B.E., Goguen, J.D. [2010]. Astrophys. J. 723, L49-L52). The changes in the light curve can be explained by the transport of nitrogen frost on the surface or by the uncovering of bedrock of less volatile methane. We also find that Triton exhibits a large opposition surge at solar phase angles less than 0.1°. This surge cannot be entirely explained by the effects of coherent backscatter.  相似文献

An examination of the published observational data concerning the light curves of magnetic CP stars has shown that only one star — HD 56022 — shows a light curve with a very long phase interval of light constancy. Only for this type of variability it is imaginable that the equatorial symmetry of the surface brightness distribution could be excluded. However, the analysis of the light curve of HD 56022 in the colour u of the Strömgren system has indicated that the possibly equatorial position of the small bright spot is not in contradiction to this observed curve. From the analysis in u the maximum amplitude of a light curve at another wavelength, where the curve is in counterphase to the light curve in u, can be predicted. The amplitude of such a light curve must be much smaller than 0.1 mag. From unpublished observations of HD 56022 by the satellites TD-1 A and ANS we have determined the amplitude at $LD = 155 nm, where the light curve is in counterphase to that in u, to be 0.2 mag. The consequences from the contradiction between the model and the observations in UV are discussed.  相似文献

CCD (V) light curve of the EW‐type eclipsing variable DF CVn was obtained during seven nights in April–May, 2004. With our data we were able to determine 4 new times of minimum light. The light curve appears to exhibit a typical O'Connell effect, with Maximum I brighter than Maximum II by 0.013 mag. in V. TwoWilson‐Devinney (WD) code working sessions, using the V light curve, were done with and without spots. The analysis of the results shows that the best fit was obtained with the spotted solution and indicates contact geometry. The photometric mass ratio of the system is found to be q = 0.347 and its inclination i = 72°, the primary minimum shows a transit. The star may be classified as an A‐type W Uma system. Assuming a reasonable value for the mass of the primary component an estimate of the absolute elements of DF CVn has been made, with the assumption that the primary has a mass corresponding to its spectral type according to Straizys and Kuriliene (1981). When the axis of a gamma-ray burst (GRB) does not coincide with the spin axis of its source, there may result a ring-shaped jet. Using some refined jet dynamics, we calculate multi-wavelength afterglow light curves for such ring-shaped jets. In the R-band we find an obvious break in the afterglow light curve due to the beaming effect and the break is affected by many parameters, such as the electron energy fraction ξe, the magnetic energy fraction ξ2B, the width of ring A0 and the medium number density n. The overall light curve can be divided into three power-law stages, I.e., an ultra-relativistic stage, an after-break stage and a deep Newtonian stage. For each stage the power-law index is larger in the ring-shaped jet than in the corresponding conical jet.  相似文献

New photoelectric UBV observations of the W Ursae Majoris-type eclipsing binary AK Her are presented. The system exhibits many phenomena such as O'Connell effect, unequal depth, phase shift and different duration in secondary eclipse due to its totality, which have been studied. O'Connell effect-duration relation may be exist. The (O-C) curve has been obtained and the new light elements have been calculated. The analysis of the minima-times data of the system reveals possible sinusoidal orbital period variation (LITE). The study of the (O-C)curve, the light curves, O'Connell effect and the duration effect have led to that the system is likely a case which undergoes cyclic around the marginal contact state conservatively with mass transfers between its components, i.e.in TRO mode.
