Anomalously large chemical ranges in muscovite-paragonite and muscovite-celadonite systems are observed in white micas from the Piemonte calcschists in the Chisone valley area, internal western Alps. The petrographical and chemical observations on white mica strongly suggest that most mica crystals with high Na/K ratios in the chlorite zone are of detrital origin, and were derived from the pre-Alpine high-temperature metamorphic sequence such the Caledonian and/or Variscan. Submicroscopic muscovite (Ms) - paragonite (Pg) composite aggregates occur in the chlorite zone and their EPMA analyses give an apparent chemical composition range from Ms0.6Pg0.4 to Ms0.2Pg0.8. In the rutile zone, the paragonite content of the white micas is less than 20%, suggesting that the white micas have been homogenized during the Alpine metamorphism even if detrital white micas existed.Metamorphic mica is also very heterogeneous. The total range in Si content becomes wider with increasing of metamorphic grade: 3.22–3.39 pfu for the chlorite zone, 3.07–3.45 pfu for the chloritoid zone and 3.06–3.59 pfu for the rutile zone. This clearly indicates that the micas have experienced significant retrogressive chemical reactions during cooling and exhumations of the host schists.The detrital white mica in the chlorite zone has not reset well in its K-Ar system during the Alpine subduction-related metamorphism. The wide range of the white mica K-Ar ages from 115 to 41 Ma must be due to a mixture of various amounts of detrital white mica in the separates. This feature is also observed in the chloritoid zone though the age variation is not so large as that in the chlorite zone. In contrast, the mica in the rutile zone, which was higher than 450°C, has been reset completely during Alpine HP metamorphism.  相似文献

碎屑白云母是碎屑岩中常见的、来自源区的稳定成分,可以用来指示源区性质,多硅白云母是碰撞造山高压-超高压变质岩石的特征矿物。对大别造山带同造山期沉积而成的江汉盆地东部上三叠统-中侏罗统砂岩碎屑白云母化学成分研究表明:上三叠统该区地层砂岩中碎屑白云母多以低硅白云母(Si<3.2)为特征,暗示此时大别造山带高压-超高压岩石很可能没有出露地表;自下侏罗统开始,砂岩中碎屑白云母中多硅白云母(Si>3.3)大量出现,中侏罗统砂岩多硅和低硅白云母发育,表明大别高压-超高压岩石在早侏罗世即已出露地表并经剥蚀搬运至盆地。这一结果从沉积学角度为约束高压-超高压岩石的折返时序和大别造山带演化提供了新的资料。  相似文献

A very coarse grained graywacke from Strassberg in the Lower Harz Mountains (Germany) consists of rock-fragments, feldspars, quartz, chlorites, micas, accessories and ores. Low grade metamorphic mineral reactions are indicated by the formation of 2M-muscovite +chlorite+sphene+albite in the matrix of the graywacke, by prehnite+chlorite+ sphene+calcite+sericite+albite (±quartz) in volcanic rock-fragments, and by prehnite +calcite+quartz along fine fissures. The newly formed minerals in the coarse grained graywacke belong to the laumontite-prehnite-quartz-facies of the burial metmorphism. However, the formation of the low grade minerals is caused by thermal metamorphism in outer contact zones of the Ramberg granite intrusion in the Strassberg area.  相似文献

据333个白云母b0值,结合区域地层和构造的研究成果,提出:(1)原称昌宁-孟连变质带解体为西盟-勐统变质带(加里东期中压变质带)和澜沧双变质带的高压亚带,两期高压变质作用分别与海西-印支期的洋壳消减和陆-陆碰撞有关;(2)石鼓变质带是三个逆冲岩片的叠置,各岩片内岩石的变质作用各具特色;(3)金沙江洋盆为地块间小洋盆,其消减及嗣后的弧-弧碰撞可能不产生高压变质作用。在此基础上探讨了白云母b0值在造山带研究中的意义。  相似文献

在相山北部首次发现十字石片岩及堇青石片岩。根据随变质作用增强而出现的新变质矿物,将相山变质岩基底划分为绢云母千枚岩带、黑云母片岩带、铁铝榴石片岩带和十字石片岩带。获得相山地区黑云母片岩-十字石片岩的Rb-Sr等时线年龄值为719Ma,斜长角闪片岩的Rb-Sr等时线年龄值为726.6Ma,表明相山基底变质岩属新元古期变质岩而不是加里东期变质岩。提出并采用微量元素地球化学比值聚类分析方法,确认相山地区变质岩原岩不属震旦系,而与华夏地块(古陆)的陈蔡群相当。  相似文献

White micas (phengites) in the metasediments of the Scottish Dalradian display a large range of compositions within single samples. The variations in the composition of these phengites are strongly controlled by their structural age, with early fabrics containing a paragonite-poor, celadonite-rich phengite whereas in later fabrics the micas are generally paragonite-rich and celadonite-poor. Retrograde phengite growth, identified using back scattered electron imaging, occurs as celadonite-rich rims on micas within all existing fabrics and appears to be preferentially developed along existing white mica-plagioclase grain boundaries. The presence of these chemically distinct phengite populations within single samples implies that chemical exchange between the individual micas was inefficient. It is proposed that diffusion-controlled exchange reactions in phengites have relatively high closure temperatures below which major element exchange is effectively impossible. This closed system behaviour of micas questions the ease with which phengites may equilibrate with other phases during prograde greenschist and lower amphibolite facies metamorphism. Many of the chemical variations preserved in phengites from such metamorphic rocks may reflect deformation/recrystallization controlled equilibria.  相似文献

接触热变质带的划分对变质岩变质过程的研究提供了有力的依据。基于京西羊屎沟地区地层中变质矿物组合及其空间分布情况,对该区的接触热变质带进行划分,并分析变质作用的形成阶段。由于燕山期房山岩浆岩体侵入,使围岩发生不同程度的接触热变质作用,形成各种特征变质矿物。在特定岩石类型中,特征变质矿物有规律的组合。采用偏光显微镜透射法和X射线衍射分析,分为透辉石-透闪石带、二云母带、红柱石白云母带和绢云母带,表明距离岩体由近至远,岩石变质程度由高到低呈分带现象。伴随着岩浆侵入不同阶段形成不同的特征变质矿物,将接触热变质作用分为5个渐进的阶段。   相似文献

Abstract: The hydrothermal alteration patterns associating with the gold prospect hosted by metavolcanics in the Dungash area, Eastern Desert of Egypt, were investigated in order to assign their relationship to mineralization. The metavolcanics of andesitic composition are generated by regional metamorphism of greenschist facies superimposed by hydrothermal activity. Epidote and chlorite are metamorphic minerals, whereas sericite, carbonates, and chlorite are hydrothermal alteration minerals. The auriferous quartz vein is of NEE‐SWW trend and cuts mainly the andesitic metavolcanics, but sometimes extends to the neighbouring metapyroclastics and metasediments. Quartz‐sericite, sericite, carbonate‐sericite, and chlorite‐sericite constitute four distinctive alteration zones which extend outwards from the mineralized quartz vein. The quartz‐sericite and sericite zones are characterized by high contents of SiO2, K2O, Rb, and As, the carbonate‐sericite zone is by high contents of CaO, Au, Cu, Cr, Ni, and Y, and the chlorite‐sericite zone is by high contents of MgO, Na2O, Zn, Ba, and Co. Gold and sulphide minerals are relatively more abundant in the carbonate‐sericite zone followed by the sericite one. The geochemistry of the alteration system was investigated using volume‐composition and mass balance calculations. The volume factors obtained for the different alteration zones, mentioned above (being 1.64, 1.19, 1.17, and 1.07, respectively), indicate that replacement had taken place with a volume gain. The mass balance calculations revealed addition of SiO2, K2O, As, Cu, Rb, Ba, Ni, and Y to the system as a whole and subtraction of Fe2O3 from the system. Initial high aK+ and aH+ for the invading fluids is suggested. As the fluids migrated into wallrocks, they became more concentrated in Mg, Ca, and Na with increasing activities of CO2 and S. The calculated loss‐gain data are in agreement with the microscopic observations. Breakdown of ferromagnesian minerals and feldspars in the quartz‐sericite, sericite, and chlorite‐sericite zones accompanied by loss in Mg, Fe, Ca, and Na under acidic conditions and low CO2/H2O ratio may obstruct the formation of carbonates and sulphides, and the precipitation of gold in these zones. The role of metamorphic fluids in the area is expected to be restricted to the liberation of Au and some associated elements from their hosts.  相似文献

高光谱遥感技术可以有效地用于分析热液流体活动规律,进而指导找矿预测。利用国际先进的CASI/SASI航空高光谱遥感技术、并结合ASD便携式地面高光谱技术手段,文章从航空、地面、深部钻孔岩芯等不同尺度对白杨河铀矿区及周围地表和深部的热液蚀变类型和热液活动规律等进行了立体识别与研究。研究表明,白杨河铀矿区及周围航空高光谱遥感识别的蚀变矿物在空间上可分为北部蚀变区、矿区蚀变区、南部蚀变区等3个蚀变带。北部蚀变区发育一套以叶腊石、明矾石、高铝绢云母为主的酸性热液蚀变组合;矿区蚀变区地表发育高铝绢云母、中铝绢云母、赤铁矿、硅化等热液蚀变,矿区深部钻孔岩芯主要发育高铝绢云母、中铝绢云母、低铝绢云母、高岭石、赤铁矿、褐铁矿、绿泥石等蚀变矿物及其混合蚀变,且绢云母蚀变矿物的Al-OH吸收峰波长位置存在"单向递减"和"先减后增"等2种明显变化规律;南部蚀变区发育低铝绢云母和中铝绢云母蚀变。分析表明,北部蚀变区是相对的区域热液流体活动中心,铀矿区蚀变区是流体活动中心旁侧的一个明显的热液流体活动区,南部蚀变区是更加远离流体活动中心的,温度进一步降低的流体活动区。矿区北缘接触带的热液蚀变温度要比南缘接触带蚀变温度高,北缘接触带热液流体蚀变温度具有由中西部向东部不断降低、由接触带向接触带外围不断降低的特点。总之,白杨河铀矿区深部热液流体活动至少存在"直流型"和"分流型"2种典型的形式,前者反映热液流体活动温度自深部→接触带→浅部不断降低的特点,后者反映热液流体活动温度自接触带分别向上和向下逐渐降低的特点。此外,文章还对热液流体活动与铀矿化关系,以及矿区外围铀矿找矿方向进行了分析。  相似文献

This study focuses on the nature of giant micas occurring at the contact between the ?zvatan (foid-bearing) syenites and the metamorphic basement in Central Anatolia. The studied micas are dark greenish-black in color and crystallized within vein shape like bodies as a narrow lens. The origin and processes responsible for the formation of these independent crystals of the giant micas were investigated by mineralogical, petrographical and geochemical analyses with the use of Confocal Raman Spectroscopy (CRS), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Polarized Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (PED-XRF) and Electron Probe Micro Analysis (EPMA). According to XRD, CRS, FTIR and EPMA data, the giant micas are phlogopite. EPMA results reveal that studied mica minerals represent the products of re-equilibrated primary mica characterized by high MgO and FeO and low Al2O3 and TiO2 contents. The trace element concentrations of the giant micas display similar patterns with the upper crust. The giant micas are crystallized within small cubicles from an alkaline magma and their composition is possibly modified by a mixing event between the crust- and mantle-derived magmas and contaminated at varying extent by the basement metamorphic rocks.  相似文献

The Otago and Alpine Schist belts of southern New Zealand have traditionally been treated as structurally continuous metamorphic belts with minor modification by brittle faulting. Mapping of biotite and garnet isograds has been hindered by rock types unfavourable for index mineral growth. Closer examination of well-exposed boundaries between metamorphic zones shows that they juxtapose rocks of different type and structural history. Apparent structural continuity across these zones is due to development of a locally pervasive boundary-parallel foliation on both sides of the boundary, in a broad boundary zone (up to 2  km wide). This feature has implications for mapping and metamorphic petrology in other metamorphic belts, where structural continuity has traditionally been assumed. True metamorphic isograds may be rare, and metamorphic zones may more commonly represent structural slices of complex, tectonically disrupted metamorphic piles.  相似文献

Two types of white micas are found in drillhole samples within the geothermal system at Coso Hot Springs. Low-permeability zones of the crystalline basement contain coarse-grained relict muscovite, whereas rock alteration near fracture zones at temperatures > 150°C is characterized by abundant finegrained sericite in association with secondary calcite and quartz and unaltered relict microcline. In this hydrothermal sericite there is an increase in interlayer K, octahedral Mg + Fetotal and tetrahedral Al with increasing temperature between ~215° to >250°C.Thermodynamic activity of the Al2Si4O10(OH)2 component of serielles, calculated using site-mixing approximations of Helgeson and Aagaard (1985), decreases with increasing temperature between ~215° and >250°C. As a consequence of the observed variations in the interlayer, octahedral and tetrahedral site occupancies, the activity of KAl2(AlSi3O10(OH)2 is essentially constant in the Coso seriates over this temperature range. The calculated equilibrium distribution of aqueous species in the hydrothermal solutions produced from well 16−8, together with cation-activity phase diagrams that account for variations in sericite composition, requires a pH of ~6.7–6.8 at temperatures between 236° and 250°C. Comparison of predicted and observed phase relations with fluid compositions indicate that seriates are in local equilibrium with the geothermal reservoir fluid, whereas relict metamorphic muscovites are metastable.Although the compositions of hydrothermal sericites are a complex function of temperature, pressure and geothermal fluid composition, compositional relations observed at Coso together with published compositions of hydrothermal dioctahedral layer-silicates from the Salton Sea geothermal system demonstrates that elemental compositions of interlayer K and tetrahedral Al increase systematically with increasing temperature despite the dramatic differences in fluid compositions between these two geothermal systems. This suggests that the observed variations in interlayer and tetrahedral site occupancy is largely dependent on the enthalpy of hydrolysis reactions representing equilibrium between sericite solid solutions and the geothermal reservoir fluids.  相似文献

黑云母是胜利油田惠民凹陷辉绿岩中的次要矿物,以斑晶、基质和次生云母三种产状产出,其中斑晶云母绝大部分已被绢云母、碳酸盐、石英和磁铁矿等替代。本文分析了基质和次生云母的化学成分,发现两者的成分具有明显差别,在云母分类命名图上,前者投于富镁黑云母和镁铁黑云母之间,后者落在富铁黑云母区域。基质云母化学成分判别本区辉绿岩主要属碱性系列、部分为钙碱性系列,同时指示成岩过程中存在较明显的地壳物质混染作用和结晶分异作用。  相似文献

Contact metamorphism has been recognized along a 4 km wide belt adjacent to the shallow‐dipping eastern margin of the Arthursleigh Tonalite, an Early Devonian pluton of the Marulan Batholith, eastern New South Wales. In Ordovician psammitic and pelitic rocks three zones of progressive contact metamorphism range from muscovite + biotite + chlorite assemblages in the outer zone to K‐feldspar + cordierite assemblages adjacent to the pluton and in metasedimentary xenoliths. Retrograde phenomena include extensive replacement of metamorphic minerals by ‘sericite’ and chlorite. Calcareous metasediments adjacent to the tonalite typically contain assemblages of quartz + calcic plagioclase + ferrosalite + sphene, or wollastonite + calcite + diopside with minor grossularite and vesuvianite. Thermal effects in volcanic rocks along the western margin of the pluton are confined to recrystallization of the groundmass.

The regional geology indicates confining pressures of approximately 1 kbar at the time of emplacement of the tonalite. Contact metamorphic temperatures were estimated from two‐feldspar geothermometry to attain a maximum of approximately 590°C for rocks in the innermost zone of the aureole and 700°C for the xenoliths. Fluid compositions attending progressive contact metamorphism were water‐rich (Xco2<0.2) and, during cooling, these fluids probably account for the extensive retrograde hydration observed in the aureole.  相似文献

桐柏杂岩位于秦岭与大别造山带之间,南北两侧为NWW-SEE向延伸的含榴辉岩高压变质地体,其构造就位过程及其与高压变质地体的构造关系为地质学家们所关注.本文研究表明,所谓的桐柏杂岩实际上是一个早白垩世花岗质片麻岩杂岩体,其内包裹一定数量的三叠纪中高级变质岩石.桐柏杂岩南北两条边界韧性剪切带具有相反的运动学指向,分别为大型右行和左行韧性剪切带,其形成时代为131Ma.这两条韧性剪切带中的剪切面理分别朝SSW和NNE向倾斜,韧性剪切带及杂岩体内部发育的拉伸线理均稳定地朝SEE方向缓倾伏.而在杂岩体的东端发育低角度近南北向韧性剪切变形带,其糜棱面理朝SEE方向低角度缓倾斜,矿物拉伸线理也朝SEE方向低角度缓倾伏,运动学标志指示东侧地质体朝295°~310°的方向逆冲.因此,桐柏杂岩实际上被一个顺造山带的韧性剪切带所围限,这个韧性剪切带及杂岩体内部韧性变形运动学指示了一个早白垩世由东向西的低角度抬升过程,而这一过程直接导致了含榴辉岩高压变质地体沿着造山带的方向从地壳深部抬升到近地表.这一研究结果对理解和认识桐柏-大别-苏鲁地区高压一超高压变质地体的晚期抬升过程具有重要意义.  相似文献

在大别造山带东端和苏鲁造山带西端,郯庐断裂带存在着同造山期和早白垩世两期左旋走滑韧性剪切带,在张八岭隆起南段迄今为止只发现了早白垩世的走滑剪切带。这些剪切带由若干条小型韧性剪切带组成,带内糜棱岩都具有陡倾的糜棱面理和平缓的矿物拉伸线理。野外构造、显微构造及石英C轴组构皆指示了左旋走滑剪切指向。新生矿物组合和矿物变形行为分析显示大别山东端郯庐早、晚两期剪切带主要形成于中绿片岩相的变质温度环境,张八岭隆起南段剪切带主要形成于高绿片岩相的变质温度环境,苏鲁造山带西端郯庐早、晚两期剪切带则形成于高角闪岩相的变质温度环境。糜棱岩内基质中新生白云母的电子探针分析指示大别山东端和张八岭隆起南段出露的郯庐韧性剪切带形成于低压环境下,而苏鲁造山带西端的郯庐韧性剪切带形成于高压榴辉岩相环境。这些详细的构造研究显示:在华北与华南板块的碰撞造山期郯庐断裂带以左旋走滑构造型式存在,而在早白垩世太平洋构造域中它又再次发生了强烈的左行平移。  相似文献

Field, petrographic and microprobe investigations of metaclastic rocks, calcareous schists, marbles, chloritic calcareous meta-volcanic units and schists/paragneisses which crop out along the eastern portion of the Central East-West Cross Island Highway in Taiwan demonstrate that metamorphic intensity gradually increases eastward. The lower greenschist facies Slate Formation on the W contains completely recrystallized, pure albitic plagioclase, but at least some of the white micas (± chlorites) probably represent relict detrital flakes. Neo-blastic biotite and epidote occur sporadically in the Pihou(?) Formation, and increase dramatically eastward; concomitantly the abundance of carbonaceous matter decreases to zero in the eastern Tailuko zone, and the amount of chlorite + white mica diminishes somewhat. Epidote becomes more aluminous at higher metamorphic grade. Eastward, phengites change progressively to more muscovitic compositions as the proportion of biotite increases. A close approach to chemical equilibrium for the pre-Cenozoic, complexly deformed metamorphic basement assemblages is suggested by regular, systematic, major and minor element partitioning between analysed coexisting phases. Fractionation is less pronounced on the E, reflecting higher temperatures. Estimated physical conditions of recrystallization with αH2O and αCO2 moderate, are: T > 325 ± 75°C, P > 3 kbar (W); T > 425 ± 75°C, P > 4kbar(E). The gradual eastward increase in metamorphic intensity from the Slate Formation through the Pihou(?) Formation and the three Tailuko zones, as well as the relict precursor textures in the pre-Cenozoic layered basement rocks indicate that the observed paragenetic sequence could represent a synchronous Neogene recrystallization event, probably accompanying the Plio-Pleistocene collision of the Asiatic continental margin and the Luzon (Coastal Range) andesitic arc.  相似文献

K–Ar ages have been determined on micas and hornblendes in the basal metamorphic sequence and in metamorphic rocks squeezed into the mantle sequence of the Semail Ophiolite. The hornblende ages of 99±0.5 and 102±0.8 Ma and the 90 Ma ages of coexisting micas from the high-grade metamorphic portion of the sequence are interpreted as cooling stages following the peak of metamorphism (T 800–850° C, P 6.5–9 kbar). The new pressure estimates are based on findings of kyanite in garnet-amphibolite and cordierite in quartzitic rocks. These data indicate a cooling rate of 10–30° C/Ma. The oldest mica ages of 95±1 Ma are observed in the lowest-grade greenschists. These also largely represent cooling ages, but might in part also include formation ages. The pattern of the muscovite ages across the metamorphic sole indicates that the cooling front moved from the low-grade metamorphic zone, through the high-grade rocks and into the base of the overlying ophiolite. Radiometric ages of hornblendes (92.3±0.5 and 94.8±0.6 Ma) indicate that the crustal gabbro sequence cooled below 500° C later than the base of the ophiolite sequence. Metamorphism of the sole rocks occurred during subduction of oceanic sediments and volcanic or gabbroic rocks as they progressively came into contact with hotter zones at the base of the overriding plate. The peak of metamorphism must have been contemporaneous with the main magmatism in the Semail Ophiolite. One of the dated muscovites yields an age of 81.3±0.8 Ma, but this is related to discrete deformation zones that were active during late-stage emplacement of the ophiolite.  相似文献

The Lesser Himalayan low- to medium-grade metamorphic rocks in central Nepal are rich in K-white micas occurring as porphyroclasts and in matrix defining S1 and S2. Porphyroclasts are usually zoned with celadonite-poor cores and celadonite-rich rims. The cores are the relics of igneous or high grade metamorphic muscovites, and the rims were re-equilibrated or overgrown under lower T metamorphic conditions. The matrix K-white micas defining S1, pre-dating the Main Central Thrust activity, are generally celadonite-rich. They show heterogeneous compositional zoning with celadonite-rich cores and celadonite-poor rims. They were recrystallized at lower T condition prior to the Main Central Thrust activity, most probably prior to the India–Asia collision (pre-Himalayan metamorphism). The matrix K-white micas along S2, synchronous to the Main Central Thrust activity (Neohimalayan metamorphism), are relatively celadonite-poor and were recrystallized under relatively higher T condition. K-white micas defining S1 also were partially re-equilibrated during the Neohimalayan metamorphism. The average compositions of recrystallized K-white micas defining both S1 and S2 become gradually poor in (Fe + Mg)- and Si-contents and rich in Al- and Ti-contents from south to north showing an increase of metamorphic grade from structurally lower to higher parts in the Lesser Himalaya. This shows that the metamorphism is inverted throughout the inner Lesser Himalaya. The tectono-metamorphic significance of the published K–Ar and 40Ar / 39Ar K-white micas ages from the Lesser Himalaya need re-evaluation in the context of observed intrasample compositional variation and zoning, and possible higher closure temperature (500 °C) for K–Ar system.  相似文献
