Summary. A special class of p th-order autoregressive stochastic models is proposed for seismic records of explosions and earthquakes. These models are based on deterministic formulations proposed by Haskell, Von Seggern & Blandford and Aki. Statistical properties of the estimation procedure are derived and the model applied to seismic records of P waves. The method is shown to have applications in depth and reflection parameter estimation and in event discrimination.  相似文献

In this article, we have proposed a simple diagnostic statistical procedure for testing the order of dependence of a spatial process. The proposed test is of nonparametric nature, and it is able to deal with potential nonlinear spatial dependencies. An added value is that from a methodological point of view, the new test is based on symbolic dynamics and hence on information theory. We characterized the behavior of a symbolic entropy measure in the presence of spatial dependencies of order higher than 1. The good power performance of the new method in detecting higher order spatial lags is notable and gives rise to an expectation that it may form a suitable basis for constructive specification searches.  相似文献

探讨了直接测定沉积物中水溶性天然有机物吸着系数的可行性,提出了改变水土比和连续提取两种动态测定方法,从理论上分析了两种方法的操作误差,结果表明,这两种方法均能同时测定样品中水溶性有机物的含量和吸着系数;改变水土比法明显优于连续提取法,用该方法测定了伊春河沉积物样品中水溶性有机物的含量与吸着系数。  相似文献

Summary. An asymptotic procedure for the computation of wave fields in two-dimensional laterally inhomogeneous media is proposed. It is based on the simulation of the wave field by a system of Gaussian beams. Each beam is continued independently through an arbitrary inhomogeneous structure. The complete wave field at a receiver is then obtained as an integral superposition of all Gaussian beams arriving in some neighbourhood of the receiver. The corresponding integral formula is valid even in various singular regions where the ray method fails (the vicinity of caustic, critical point, etc.). Numerical examples are given.  相似文献

In this paper, the method of small perturbations is applied to the ray and energy transport equations in an investigation of the effect of weak inhomogeneities on the propagation of seismic rays through a layer of fixed thickness. Just as Aki et al . have used travel-time residuals to infer first-order velocity perturbations in their block-modelling procedure, it is proposed that surface slowness and amplitude data may be used to give additional information about the structure of the velocity perturbations beneath the observer.  相似文献

Numerous methods have been proposed for landslide probability zonation of the landscape by means of a Geographic Information System (GIS). Among the multivariate methods, i.e. those methods which simultaneously take into account all the factors contributing to instability, the Conditional Analysis method applied to a subdivision of the territory into Unique Condition Units is particularly straightforward from a conceptual point of view and particularly suited to the use of a GIS. In fact, working on the principle that future landslides are more likely to occur under those conditions which led to past instability, landslide susceptibility is defined by computing the landslide density in correspondence with different combinations of instability factors. The conceptual simplicity of this method, however, does not necessarily imply that it is simple to implement, especially as it requires rather complex operations and a high number of GIS commands. Moreover, there is the possibility that, in order to achieve satisfactory results, the procedure has to be repeated a few times changing the factors or modifying the class subdivision. To solve this problem, we created a shell program which, by combining the shell commands, the GIS Geographical Research Analysis Support System (GRASS) commands and the gawk language commands, carries out the whole procedure automatically. This makes the construction of a Landslide Susceptibility Map easy and fast for large areas too, and even when a high spatial resolution is adopted, as shown by application of the procedure to the Parma River basin, in the Italian Northern Apennines.  相似文献

The accuracy of rockfall trajectory simulations depends to a large extent on the calculation of the rebound of falling boulders on different parts of a slope where rockfalls could occur. The models commonly used for rebound calculation are based on restitution coefficients, which can only be calibrated subjectively in the field. To come up with a robust and objective procedure for rebound calculation, a stochastic impact model associated with an objective field data collection method was developed and tested in this study. The aims of this work were to assess the adequacy of this approach and to evaluate the minimum amount of field data required to obtain simulation results with a satisfactory level of predictability. To achieve these objectives, the rebound calculation procedure developed was integrated into a three-dimensional rockfall simulation model, and the simulated results were compared with those obtained from field rockfall experiments. For rocky slopes, the simulations satisfactorily predict the experimental results. This approach is advantageous because it combines precise modelling of the mechanisms involved in the rebound and of their related variability with an objective field data collection procedure which basically only requires collecting the mean size of soil rocks. The approach proposed in this study therefore constitutes an excellent basis for the objective probabilistic assessment of rockfall hazard.  相似文献

Regionalization is a classification procedure applied to spatial objects with an areal representation, which groups them into homogeneous contiguous regions. This paper presents an efficient method for regionalization. The first step creates a connectivity graph that captures the neighbourhood relationship between the spatial objects. The cost of each edge in the graph is inversely proportional to the similarity between the regions it joins. We summarize the neighbourhood structure by a minimum spanning tree (MST), which is a connected tree with no circuits. We partition the MST by successive removal of edges that link dissimilar regions. The result is the division of the spatial objects into connected regions that have maximum internal homogeneity. Since the MST partitioning problem is NP‐hard, we propose a heuristic to speed up the tree partitioning significantly. Our results show that our proposed method combines performance and quality, and it is a good alternative to other regionalization methods found in the literature.  相似文献

This article deals with the graphic simplification of a network by schematization. A new method employing a stroke-based and progressive strategy is proposed to generate schematic network maps. This method treats a stroke (which is a long line with segments concatenated together) as a basic unit for the implementation. The procedure is as follows: (a) strokes are formed from line segments, (b) the strokes are re-orientated along grid lines and/or diagonals, and (c) two endpoints and all intersection points on (sub-)strokes are projected onto re-oriented straight lines, and (d) spatial inconsistency is detected and resolved. A methodology for each of these steps is described. This new method has been tested with a set of real-life road network data and evaluated by fractal analysis and empirical study. Experimental results show that this new method is more effective than segment-based methods and is able to produce graphics with great simplicity and clarity. Based on the results obtained, the stroke-based schematization with four primary directions is recommended.  相似文献

In this article a technique is presented to estimate the proportions of different map categories in a series of heterogeneous mapping units, using information on the degree of spatial correlation with other categorical data. The technique has been applied to decompose ecotope complexes in a categorical map of the biotic environment in Flanders, using secondary information on land cover and soil type. Because the conditional probability of an ecotope occurring given a certain soil type depends on the frequency with which the ecotope occurs in an area, determining the probability of occurrence of an ecotope from the conditional probabilities can lead to predictions that contradict prior knowledge about the composition of the different mapping units. A measure expressing the affinity of an ecotope for a soil type is proposed and is used as an alternative to conditional probability in the estimation procedure. The proposed method has been tested in a study area for which detailed field observations were collected, and proves to work well if reliable a priori knowledge about the composition of complex mapping units is available.  相似文献

Several methods have been proposed to constrain the stress field from fault plane orientations and slip directions within a crustal volume characterized by brittle deformation. All the methods are based on the assumption that the stress field is uniform in the volume considered. If this hypothesis is not checked in advance, however, the methodology may lead to misleading conclusions. In this work, a procedure is defined to check stress-field uniformity by a statistical analysis of the available fault data. Since, in most cases, the statistical features of the uncertainties that affect such data are not well known, a distribution-free approach is proposed. It is based on a simple search algorithm, devoted to selecting stress configurations compatible with available data, combined with a bootstrap resampling approach. The test results are more conservative than the ones so far proposed in the literature. When the test allows stress heterogeneities to be safely excluded, approximate confidence intervals for the principal stress directions can be obtained; otherwise, the level of stress heterogeneity present in the volume under study can be assessed. An application of the proposed procedure to a sample of fault data deduced from seismological data is presented.  相似文献

This paper presents a multi-level procedure for production and injection scheduling through a numerical model-based optimization of well control variables. To calculate the net present value (NPV), the objective function of optimization, this procedure uses a number of discretized systems for a reservoir model with different degrees of up-scaling prepared according to a multi-resolution wavelet technique. These up-scaled models were incorporated into optimization based on a probability function. In early optimization iterations, due to the necessity to explore the search space quickly, the coarsest grid model has a higher chance for selection than the others; however, by a selection (with a low probability) of the finest up-scaled grid model in these iterations, solutions and objective function were tuned. In the later iterations of optimization, the finest up-scaled grid model probability was the highest in order to ensure the reliability of the final solution. The optimization algorithm is an adaptive simulated annealing algorithm coupled with a polytope. This procedure was evaluated in two case studies. The first case study was a horizontal 2D oil model with water flooding. The second case study was a vertical 2D oil model with gas injection. The results show that the proposed optimization procedure provides approximately the same accuracy compared to the situation in which the fine grid model is used for all the optimization iterations. Also, the run-time for the proposed optimization procedure is comparable to the run-time of the optimization in which only the coarsest grid model is used to calculate objective function. Moreover, the superiority of the wavelet-based up-scaling over an analogous multiple grid system optimization using uniformly up-scaled models is presented.

The environment of major sediments of eastern China oilfields is a meandering river where mud drapes inside point bar sand occur and are recognized as important factors for underground fluid flow and distribution of the remaining oil. The present detailed architectural analysis, and the related mud drapes’ modeling inside a point bar, is practical work to enhance oil recovery. This paper illustrates a new stochastic modeling of mud drapes inside point bars. The method is a hierarchical strategy and composed of three nested steps. Firstly, the model of meandering channel bodies is established using the Fluvsim method. Each channel centerline obtained from the Fluvsim is preserved for the next simulation. Secondly, the curvature ratios of each meandering river at various positions are calculated to determine the occurrence of each point bar. The abandoned channel is used to characterize the geometry of each defined point bar. Finally, mud drapes inside each point bar are predicted through random sampling of various parameters, such as number, horizontal intervals, dip angle, and extended distance of mud drapes. A dataset, collected from a reservoir in the Shengli oilfield of China, was used to illustrate the mud drapes’ building procedure proposed in this paper. The results show that the inner architectural elements of the meandering river are depicted fairly well in the model. More importantly, the high prediction precision from the cross validation of five drilled wells shows the practical value and significance of the proposed method.  相似文献

Information for mine planning requires to be close spaced, if compared to the grid used for exploration and resource assessment. The additional samples collected during quasimining usually are located in the same pattern of the original diamond drillholes net but closer spaced. This procedure is not the best in mathematical sense for selecting a location. The impact of an additional information to reduce the uncertainty about the parameter been modeled is not the same everywhere within the deposit. Some locations are more sensitive in reducing the local and global uncertainty than others. This study introduces a methodology to select additional sample locations based on stochastic simulation. The procedure takes into account data variability and their spatial location. Multiple equally probable models representing a geological attribute are generated via geostatistical simulation. These models share basically the same histogram and the same variogram obtained from the original data set. At each block belonging to the model a value is obtained from the n simulations and their combination allows one to access local variability. Variability is measured using an uncertainty index proposed. This index was used to map zones of high variability. A value extracted from a given simulation is added to the original data set from a zone identified as erratic in the previous maps. The process of adding samples and simulation is repeated and the benefit of the additional sample is evaluated. The benefit in terms of uncertainty reduction is measure locally and globally. The procedure showed to be robust and theoretically sound, mapping zones where the additional information is most beneficial. A case study in a coal mine using coal seam thickness illustrates the method.  相似文献

This paper presents a new method to discover knowledge for geographical cellular automata (CA) by using a data-mining technique. CA have the ability to simulate complex geographical phenomena. Very few studies have been carried out on how to determine and validate the transition rules of CA from observed data. The transition rules of traditional CA are usually expressed by mathematical equations. This paper demonstrates that the explicit transition rules of CA can be automatically reconstructed through the rule induction procedure of data mining. The explicit transition rules are more intuitive to decision-makers. The transition rules are obtained by applying data-mining techniques to spatial data. The proposed method can reduce the uncertainties in defining transition rules and help to generate more reliable simulation results.  相似文献

A method is developed for the reconstruction of a non-uniform distribution of scattering properties in the upper layers of the Earth using data on broadening of an incoherent body-wave group or pulse along a number of rays. The theoretical basis for this reconstruction is a linear integral formula after Bocharov (1985, 1988), which is employed to design a linear inversion procedure. The inversion is performed in terms of a single scalar parameter of effective turbidity. This parameter presents an adequate generalization of the common turbidity parameter used in the isotropic scattering case; it describes, simultaneously, scattering attenuation, pulse broadening and backscattering or coda formation. As a preliminary step, necessary conditions of applicability of the transport equation approach for the analysis of regional high-frequency seismic waves are verified. A new compact derivation of Bocharov's formula is then presented. A linear least-squares inversion procedure for recovering a layered turbidity structure is proposed and tested on synthetic data of onset-to-peak delays of incoherent body-wave pulses. A few practical aspects of the application of the general approach to seismological data are analysed, including the correctness of the low-angle approximation, the use of peak delay observations instead of pulse centroid, the effects of a realistic spatial spectrum of inhomogeneity field, the potential bias produced by intrinsic loss, and the distortions produced by a non-spherical (double dipole) source radiation pattern. The latter point is considered as critically important, as one can expect significant data contamination by nodal arrivals. An efficient robust estimation procedure is designed and tested that is capable of suppressing distortions from nodal and near-nodal data.  相似文献
