Polarization measurements of the H2O maser emission from the active region in Orion KL were carried out at epoch 2011?C2012 on the Svetloe-Zelenchukskaya radio interferometer. The bipolar outflow structure and polarized emission parameters have been determined. The emission from the components at v = 7.6 and 7.0 km s?1 dominates in the line profile; the relative contribution of the former component has increased. The velocity of the bipolar outflow ejector region is almost equal to that of the local standard of rest v LSR = 7.65 km s?1, while the velocity of the remote component is v = 7.0 km s?1. The emission from the bipolar outflow is observed at a distance up to 11 mas from the ejector. Its diameter does not exceed 0.3 mas. The outflow orientation in the plane of the sky is ?37°. The outflow velocity components along the line of sight differ by ??v = 0.3 km s?1. The polarization levels of the bipolar outflow and the remote component reach m = 62 and 39%, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper we carry out an analysis of the spatial–temporal line-of-sight velocity variations measured in the chromospheric (H, H) and photospheric (Fei 6569 Å, Fei 4864 Å, Nii 4857 Å) lines at the base of 17 coronal holes. Time series of a duration from 43 to 120 min were recorded with the CCD line-array and the CCD matrix. Rather frequently we observed quasi-stationary upward flows with a measured velocity of up to 1 km s–1 in the photosphere and up to 4–5 km s–1 in the chromosphere (equivalent radial velocity of up to 3 km s–1 and up to 12–15 km s–1 accordingly) near dark points on the chromospheric network boundary inside polar CH. Line-of-sight velocity fluctuation spectra contain meaningful maxima in the low-frequency region clustering around the values 0.4, 0.75, and 1 mHz. Usually, the spatial localization of these maxima mutually coincides and, in our opinion, coincides with the chromospheric network boundary. Acoustic 3- and 5-min oscillations are enhanced in the coronal hole region and reach 1 km s–1 in the photosphere and 3–4 km s–1 in the chromosphere. These oscillations are not localized spatially and are distinguished throughout the entire region observed.  相似文献

EUV spectra obtained with the Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) on the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) show significant flows of plasma in active region loops, both at coronal and transition region temperatures. Wavelength shifts in the coronal lines Mgix 368 Å and Mgx 624 Å corresponding to upflows in the plasma reaching velocities of 50 km s-1 have been observed in an active region. Smaller velocities are detected in the coronal lines Fexvi 360 Å and Sixii 520 Å. Flows reaching 100 km s-1 are observed in spectral lines formed at transition region temperatures, i.e., Ov 629 Å and Oiii 599 Å, demonstrating that both the transition region and the corona are clearly dynamic in nature. Some high velocity events show even higher velocities with line profiles corresponding to a velocity dispersion of 300–400 km s-1. Even in the quiet Sun there are velocity fluctuations of 20 km s-1 in transition region lines. Velocities of the magnitude presented in this paper have never previously been observed in coronal lines except in explosive events and flares. Thus, the preliminary results from the CDS spectrometer promise to put constraints on existing models of the flows and energy balance in the solar atmosphere. The present results are compared to previous attempts to observe flows in the corona.  相似文献

We present high angular resolution spectra taken along the jets from L1551 IRS 5 and DG Tau obtained with the Subaru Telescope. The position-velocity diagrams of the [Fe II] λ 1.644 μmemission line revealed remarkably similar characteristics for the two sources, showing two distinct velocity components separated from each other in both velocity and space with the entire emission range blueshifted with respect to the stellar velocity. The high velocity component (HVC) has a velocity of –200 ––300 km s-1 with a narrow line width, while the low velocity component (LVC) is around –100 km s-1 exhibitinig a broad line width. The HVC is located farther away from the origin and is more extended than the LVC. Our results suggest that the HVC is a well-collimated jet originating from the region close to the star, while the LVC is a widely-opened wind accelerated in the region near the inner edge of the accretion disk.  相似文献

Very-high spectral resolution observations of the neutral Na emission have enabled measurements of the velocity dispersions of the Na atoms within ∼40,000 km of the opto center of Hale-Bopp. Asymmetric Na D line profiles imply both an in situ or core Na source and a secondary Na source at locations within the inner coma. The core velocity distribution had a FWHM of 2 km s-1. The extended source FWHM increased with distance from the nucleus (up to ∼6 km s-1, but appeared smaller in the more dusty regions (∼2.5–3.0 km s-1) of the inner coma. The D2/D1 line strength ratio was consistent with an optically thin inner coma. Within 5,000 km of the opto center the continuum spatial intensity profiles decreased as ∼r-1 while the Na D emission decreased at less than r-1. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

We present the results of our study of the H2O maser emission from the source W75N, which is associated with a star-forming region, between November 1994 and March 1999. The observations were carried out with the RT-22 radio telescope of the Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory (Lebedev Physical Institute). The maser emission in 1994–1999 can be represented as a superposition of flares of separate components with a duration from two to six months, which occurred mainly in the radial-velocity range 8–17.5 km s?1. We detected a regular drift of the velocity centroid from 13 to 9 km s?1 and an abrupt change in its velocity from 9 to 5 km s?1, which took place at the initial stage of maser activity. Based on the variability of the total H2O flux in all years of our observations of W75N (from December 1979 through March 1999), we conclude that the long-period variability of the water-vapor maser emission has a period of ~11.5 years. We give arguments that this variability is mainly associated with the most compact group of maser spots, whose positions coincide with the position of the continuum source VLA 2.  相似文献

In the region of the formation of weak and medium-strong lines, the microturbulence increases with height (V ver=0.7–0.9 km s-1, V hor= 1.1–1.5 km s-1), the macroturbulence decreases (V ver=1.6–1.4 km s-1, V hor= 2.4–1.5 km s-1), and the total velocity field (vertical component) is depth-independent (1.7 km s-1). The empirical damping constants for Fe, Ti, Cr, Ni lines are equal 1.36, 1.76, 1.66, 1.66, respectively. The correlation length (the Kubo-Anderson process has been used) in the solar photosphere is 520–550 km.  相似文献

A thermodynamic model of meteorite impact is applied to determine if craters of equal diameter were necessarily created by events of similar thermal regimes. The particular case considered is that of a spherical basalt meteorite hitting a basalt target, and only two parameters are varied: impact velocity and meteorite radius. It is found that, in producing craters of equal diameter (20 cm), a small fast meteorite produces less melted and vaporized material, or tends to yield less glass, than does a large slow meteorite. Above 10 km s–1 the amount of melted material is a monotonically decreasing function of impact velocity; above 20 km s–1 the amount of vaporized material is a monotonically decreasing function of impact velocity. At 70 km s–1 only 23% as much melt and vapor is produced as at 10 km s–1, for events yielding equal crater diameters of 20 cm. According to the model used, this effect can be explained by observing that a meteorite with a small contact surface will deposit more heat and will produce a hotter but smaller amount of liquid than will a larger slower meteorite. Implications include, in principle, the possibility of estimating impact velocities by means of ejecta sample analysis.  相似文献

Horizontal proper motions of penumbral structure and umbral dots have been measured from a 17-min-long time series of sunspot images by numerical techniques. In the penumbra, inflows are seen to occur predominantly in the inner region, with an average velocity of 290 m s–1. Penumbral outflows take place mostly in the outer part, where they reach velocities as high as 1.5 km s–1, with an average velocity of 500 m s–1. In the umbra, proper motions of 28 bright dots have been measured with an accuracy better than 50 m s–1. The mean velocity of the umbral dots is 210 m s–1. Most of the umbral dots display the well-known inward motion away from the peripheral umbra.  相似文献

Two coronal mass ejections have been well observed by the LASCO coronagraphs to move out into the interplanetary medium as disconnected plasmoids. The first, on July 28, 1996, left the Sun above the west limb around 18:00 UT. As it moved out, a bright V-shaped structure was visible in the C2 coronagraph which moved into the field-of-view of C3 and could be observed out to beyond 28 solar radii. The derived average velocity in the plane of the sky was 110 ± 5 km s-1 out to 5 solar radii, and above 15 solar radii the velocity was 269 ± 10 km s-1. Thus there is evidence of some acceleration around 6 solar radii. The second event occurred on November 5, 1996 and left the west limb around 04:00 UT. The event had an average velocity in the plane of the sky of ∼54 km s-1 below 4 R⊙, and it accelerated rapidly around 5 R⊙ up to 310 ± 10 km s-1. In both events the rising plasmoid is connected back to the Sun by a straight, bright ray, which is probably a signature of a neutral sheet. In the November event there is evidence for multiple plasmoid ejections. The acceleration of the plasmoids around a projected altitude of 5 solar radii is probably a manifestation of the source surface of the solar wind. Penumbral line-core shifts at different heights are determined from the lines Fei 5434.5 Å, Fei 5435.2 Å, and Nii 5435.8 Å using two adjacent water vapor lines for an absolute wavelength scale. The large granular blue shift of 0.6 km s-1 for the faint Fe 5435 line from deep layers yields for the centre-side penumbra absolute velocities up to 3 km s-1. This value is much larger than velocities deduced from the bisectors of the line wings of Ni 5436 and Fe 5434, thus supporting the concern against an interpretation of the line asymmetries in term of a velocity gradient with depth.  相似文献

Kormendy’s relation (μe-logR e) is used to investigate the structure of the compact Ursa Major supercluster of galaxies (11h30m+55°, cz=18 000 km s?1); this relation allows the distances of early-type galaxies to be estimated. The relative distances of 13 clusters in the supercluster and their peculiar velocities are determined with a mean statistical accuracy of 6%. In general, the supercluster obeys the Hubble relation between radial velocity and distance. However, there is reason to suggest that the supercluster consists of two subsystems with mean radial velocities of 16 200 and 19 700 km s?1. For a velocity dispersion in the subsystems of ~1100 km s?1, the fact that each of them is gravitationally bound is not ruled out.  相似文献

The superfine structure of the bulge of the galaxy NGC 4258 has been investigated in H2O maser emission at the epochs on February 4, 2013, and November 29, 2013. The peak intensities of the spectral components reached F ≈ 5 Jy. The emission of the component at v = 476 km s-1 dominated at the beginning of this period; the second component at v = 487 km s-1 was observed at the end of the period. The structure is a chain of compact components up to 200 µas or 7mpc in extent. The velocity of the local standard of rest is v LSR = 482 km s-1. Two bright compact components with a separation between them Δρ ≈ 35 µas or 1.3 mpc and a pair of components spaced 13 µas apart, whose brightness reaches 30% of the peak value corresponding to a brightness temperature T b ≈ 1018 K, are located at the center. The sizes of the components are ~2–3 µas. A splitting and a shift of the two pairs of components relative to each other by 8 µas or 0.3 mpc in the 45° direction are observed at the end of the period. The velocity gradient of the structure is dV/dρ = 224 km s-1 mas-1, suggesting a solid-body rotation with a period T ≈ 760 years. The compact components correspond to the tangential directions of the arm. Two parallel chains of components corresponding to the tangential directions of the walls of the bipolar outflow carrying away an excess angular momentum are ejected from the central part of the bulge, two sources. The outflow is oriented at an angle X ≈ 15° relative to the disk axis. The brightness of the outflow fragments does not exceed 1.5% of the peak value. The ejection of material from the central part in the northward direction at a level up to 0.2%, T b ≈ 1015 K, is observed at the epoch on February 4, 2013, at v = 478 km s-1. The core structure suggests a double system: parallel disks–vortices spaced 0.25 mpc apart.  相似文献

The SOHO Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer (UVCS/SOHO) is being used to observe the extended solar corona from 1.25 to 10 R⊙ from Sun center. Initial observations of polar coronal holes and equatorial streamers are described. The observations include measurements of spectral line profiles for HI Lα and Lβ, Ovi 1032 Å and 1037 Å, Mgx 625 Å, Fexii 1242 Å and several others. Intensities for Mgx 610 Å, Sixii 499 Å, and 520 Å, Sx 1196 Å, and 22 others have been observed. Preliminary results for derived H0, O5+, Mg9+, and Fe11+ velocity distributions and initial indications of outflow velocities for O5+ are described. In streamers, the H0 velocity distribution along the line of sight (specified by the value at e-1, along the line of sight) decreases from a maximum value of about 180 km s-1 at 2 R⊙ to about 140 km s-1 at 8 R⊙. The value for O5+ increases with height reaching a value of 150 km s-1 at 4.7 R⊙. In polar coronal holes, the O5+ velocity at e-1 is about equal to that of H0 at 1.7 R⊙ and significantly larger at 2.1 R⊙. The O5+ in both streamers and coronal holes were found to have anisotropic velocity distributions with the smaller values in the radial direction.  相似文献

The peculiarities of non-Hubble bulk motions of galaxies are studied by analyzing a sample of 1271 thin edge-on spirals with distances determined using a multiparametric Tully-Fisher relation that includes the amplitude of the galaxy rotation, the blue and red diameters, surface brightness, and morphological type. In the purely dipole approximation, the bulk motion of galaxies relative to the cosmic microwave background frame can be described by the velocity of 336±96 km s?1 in the direction l=321°, b=?1° within radius R max =10000 km s?1. An analysis of more complex velocity field models shows that the anisotropy of the Hubble expansion described by the quadrupole term is equal to ~5% on scale lengths R max=6000–10000 km s?1. The amplitude within the Local Supercluster (R max=3000 km s?1) is as high as ~20%. The inclusion of the octupole component reduces the dipole amplitude to 134±111 km s?1 on scale lengths of ~8000 km s?1. The most remarkable feature of the galaxy velocity field within R max=8000 km s?1 is the zone of minimum centered on l=80°, b=0° (the constellation of Cygnus) whose amplitude reaches 18% of the mean Hubble velocity.  相似文献

Based on the stellar proper motions of the TGAS (Gaia DR1) catalogue, we have analyzed the velocity field of main-sequence stars and red giants from the TGAS catalogue with heliocentric distances up to 1.5 kpc. We have obtained four variants of kinematic parameters corresponding to different methods of calculating the distances from the parallaxes of stars measured with large relative errors. We have established that within the Ogorodnikov–Milne model changing the variant of distances affects significantly only the solar velocity components relative to the chosen centroid of stars, provided that the solution is obtained in narrow ranges of distances (0.1 kpc). The estimates of all the remaining kinematic parameters change little. This allows the Oort coefficients and related Galactic rotation parameters as well as all the remaining Ogorodnikov–Milne model parameters (except for the solar terms) to be reliably estimated irrespective of the parallax measurement accuracy. The main results obtained from main-sequence stars in the range of distances from 0.1 to 1.5 kpc are: A = 16.29 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, B = ?11.90 ± 0.05 km s?1 kpc?1, C = ?2.99 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, K = ?4.04 ± 0.16 km s?1 kpc?1, and the Galactic rotation period P = 217.41 ± 0.60 Myr. The analogous results obtained from red giants in the range from 0.2 to 1.6 kpc are: the Oort constants A = 13.32 ± 0.09 km s?1 kpc?1, B = ?12.71 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?1, C = ?2.04 ± 0.08 km s?1 kpc?1, K = ?2.72 ± 0.19 km s?1 kpc?1, and the Galactic rotation period P = 236.03 ± 0.98 Myr. The Galactic rotation velocity gradient along the radius vector (the slope of the Galactic rotation curve) is ?4.32 ± 0.08 km s?1 kpc?1 for main-sequence stars and ?0.61 ± 0.11 km s?1 kpc?1 for red giants. This suggests that the Galactic rotation velocity determined from main-sequence stars decreases with increasing distance from the Galactic center faster than it does for red giants.  相似文献

Currently available data on the field of velocities V r , V l , V b for open star clusters are used to perform a kinematic analysis of various samples that differ by heliocentric distance, age, and membership in individual structures (the Orion, Carina-Sagittarius, and Perseus arms). Based on 375 clusters located within 5 kpc of the Sun with ages up to 1 Gyr, we have determined the Galactic rotation parameters ω 0 = ?26.0 ± 0.3 km s?1 kpc?1, ω0 = 4.18 ± 0.17 km s?1 kpc?2, ω0 = ?0.45 ± 0.06 km s?1 kpc?3, the system contraction parameter K = ?2.4 ± 0.1 km s?1 kpc?1, and the parameters of the kinematic center R 0 = 7.4 ± 0.3 kpc and l 0 = 0° ± 1°. The Galactocentric distance R 0 in the model used has been found to depend significantly on the sample age. Thus, for example, it is 9.5 ± 0.7 and 5.6 ± 0.3 kpc for the samples of young (≤50 Myr) and old (>50 Myr) clusters, respectively. Our study of the kinematics of young open star clusters in various spiral arms has shown that the kinematic parameters are similar to the parameters obtained from the entire sample for the Carina-Sagittarius and Perseus arms and differ significantly from them for the Orion arm. The contraction effect is shown to be typical of star clusters with various ages. It is most pronounced for clusters with a mean age of ≈100 Myr, with the contraction velocity being Kr = ?4.3 ± 1.0 km s?1.  相似文献

We analyze the superfine structure of the supermaser H2O emission region in Orion KL over the period 1979–1999. The angular resolution reached 0.1 mas, which corresponds to 0.045 AU at a distance to Orion KL of 450 pc. We determined the velocity of the local standard of rest, VLSR = 7.65 km s?1. The formation of a protostar is accompanied by a structure that consists of an accretion disk, a bipolar outflow, and a surrounding envelope. The disk is at the stage of separation into protoplanetary rings. The disk plane is warped like the brim of a hat. The disk is 27 AU in diameter and ~0.3 AU in thickness. The rings contain ice granules. Radiation and stellar wind sublimate and blow away the water molecules to form halos around the rings, maser rings. The radiation from the rings is concentrated in the azimuthal plane, and its directivity reaches 10?3. The relative velocities of the rings located in the central part of the disk 15 AU in diameter correspond to rigid-body rotation, Vrot = ΩR. The rotation period is T ≈ 170 yr. The injector is surrounded by a toroidal structure 1.2 AU in diameter. The diameter of the injected flow does not exceed 0.05 AU. A highly collimated bipolar outflow with a diameter of ~0.1 AU is observed at a distance as large as 3 AU. Precession of the injector axis with a period of ~10 yr forms a spiral flow structure. The flow velocity is ~10 km s?1. The kinetic energy of the accreting matter and the disk is assumed to be transferred to the bipolar outflow, causing the rotation velocity distribution of the rings to deviate from the Keplerian velocity. The surrounding envelope amplifies the emission from the structure at a velocity of 7.65 km s?1 in a band of ~0.5 km s?1 by more than two orders of magnitude, which determines the supermaser emission.  相似文献

We have studied mass motions associated with active region arch structures from observations of a developing active region near the center of the solar disk. We present a method for the computation of the line-of-sight velocity from photographs at H ± 0.5 under the assumption of Beckers' cloud model and reasonable assumptions about the Doppler width and optical depth of the arches. Some arches show motions typical to arch filaments (the material moves towards the observer near the apex of the arch and away from the observer near the footpoints), while in others the velocity field is more complex. Assuming a symmetric loop, we reconstructed the velocity vector along an arch filament. The results are consistent with the picture where material is draining out of the filament while the whole structure is ascending with a velocity near that of the apex, which does not exceed 10 km s–1. The motion is systematically slower than expected from a free-fall model.  相似文献
