 The marine coastal sediments from Togo have been analysed for the trace elements Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Sr, V, Zn and Zr to ascertain the geo-ecological impact of dumping of phosphorite tailings into the sea. Trace element concentrations ranged from 2–44 ppm for Cd, 22–184 ppm for Cu, 19–281 ppm for Ni, 22–176 ppm for Pb, 179–643 ppm for Sr, 38–329 ppm for V, 60–632 ppm for Zn and 18–8928 ppm for Zr. Regional distribution of trace elements in the marine environment indicates that the concentrations of Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, V, Sr and Zn increase seawards and along the coastal line outwards of the tailing outfall, whereas Cd and Zr showed reversed spatial patterns. Sorting and transport of phosphorite particles by coastal currents are the main factors controlling the distribution of particle-bound trace metals in the coastal environment. The Cd, Sr and Zn concentrations decrease with decreasing grain size in marine coastal sediments, whereas Cr, Cu, Ni and Zn concentrations increase with decreasing grain size. Percolation and shaking experiments were carried out in laboratory using raw phosphate material and artificial sea water. 锶钡比是常用的海陆相沉积环境判别手段之一,黄河三角洲钻孔沉积物的传统全量锶钡比介于0.45±0.5之间,无法判别其海陆相沉积环境。黄河三角洲钻孔样品的选择性提取结果表明,全样的总量钡和锶中的75%以上的钡和50%以上的锶赋存于与沉积时的海陆相地球化学环境无关的陆源碎屑矿物中,在判别海陆相沉积环境时是应该剔除的。不同选择性提取方法的分析结果表明,黄河三角洲沉积物中的锶除碎屑硅酸盐矿物态外,主要呈现可交换态和碳酸态,赋存形态比较单一;而钡除了碎屑硅酸盐矿物态外其赋存形态复杂。以提取可交换态为主的醋酸钠法和醋酸铵法、以提取可交换态和碳酸盐态为主的柠檬酸法和稀盐酸法及络合剂+稀盐酸法所提取的锶钡比,均能较好地区分黄河三角洲的海陆相沉积环境。来自黄土的黄河三角洲物源的高碳酸钙和醋酸不能提取重晶石中钡的双重特殊性,导致黄河三角洲沉积物稀醋酸法提取的结果具有高锶低钡的特征并造成锶钡比偏高,尽管其锶钡比都大于1.0,但其对沉积时盐度环境的响应灵敏度大于其他选择性提取方法。选择性提取方法是解决目前传统的全样总量锶钡比海陆相沉积环境判别效果不佳问题的唯一有效手段。  相似文献

The absolute concentrations of minor and trace elements vary considerably in plankton. However, normalization of elemental abundances versus the minor elements Fe, Al and Zn (instead of the commonly used normalization versus seawater concentrations) demonstrates that these elements show remarkably constant proportions vis à vis each other. Thus, Ti, Fe, Al, Mn, V, and Zr occur in marine lower organisms in the same proportions as in the average shale, whereas Ba, Cr, Cu, Ni, Cd, Pb, Zn and B are enriched relative to the shale abundances, as are also Ca, Mg, Na, K, and Sr. These patterns appear to suggest that marine plankton are rich in lithogenic matter, but this is probably not the normal case.Contrary to the uniformity of plankton, sediments from the Pacific vary considerably in composition. Under the Equatorial high-productivity region the sediments show striking similarities with a mixture of average shale and average plankton mass, as could be expected, whereas sediments from the East Pacific Rise differ considerably from such mixtures. An iron—manganese phase (of deep-seated origin?), mixed with biological matter, on the other hand, yields model sediments with remarkable similarities to the East Pacific Rise deposits. It is therefore likely that biological processes account for a considerable fraction of some elements such as Cu, Ni, Zn and Ba also in the East Pacific Rise metalliferous sediments.  相似文献

元素地球化学是沉积物源判别和环境研究的重要手段,但河口海岸地区沉积动力环境复杂多变,人类活动影响强烈,全岩沉积地球化学的示踪研究存在局限性和多解性。选择长江下游干流悬浮物、东海陆架表层沉积物以及长江口具有一百多年沉积记录的ZK6孔,通过化学相态分析(1 N HCl处理),探究酸溶态微量元素组成特征及其对河口环境变迁的指示。相较于钻孔全岩样品,酸溶态Sr/Ba比能更可靠地反映河口古盐度和海陆相沉积环境的变化。ZK6孔沉积物酸溶态稀土元素(REE)主要赋存于Mn氧化物中,Mn、ΣREE含量、Ce/Ce*以及Sr/Ba比在1899—2007年间呈三段式变化,主要反映长江河口流路分汊和主泓位置改变引起的河口沉积环境变化,进而影响河口环境中活跃元素和次生组分在沉积地层中的保存记录。该研究对今后深化认识复杂河口环境下微量元素地球化学行为以及微量元素示踪海洋环境变化具有借鉴意义。  相似文献

We synthesized existing data on chemical contaminants in Long Island Sound (LIS) from published reports and unpublished databases. We found several cases of systematic differences between data sources, which complicated the tasks of understanding the health of LIS and of identifying trends over time. Of the three media examined—water, sediment, and biota—sediment (especially in western LIS) most often exhibited pollutant concentrations that were high relative to guidelines and to other estuaries. These high sediment concentrations did not appear to be efficiently transmitted to biota. With the exception of Cd, median pollutant levels in embayment sediments were not higher than in open-water sediments, but the highest levels found in embayments were much higher than at open-water sites, especially for Ag and Hg. Trends over time in contaminant levels were mixed. We identify the most problematic contaminants in LIS and recommend adding Ag to the LIS Study’s List of Contaminants of Concern.  相似文献

有关准噶尔盆地南缘上二叠统乌拉泊组的沉积环境, 一直存在较大争议。作者根据沉积物中的地球化学标志、碎屑岩的粒度分布特征及泥岩中的粘土矿物组合, 对博格达山前凹陷上二叠统乌拉泊组的沉积环境进行了分析, 认为乌拉泊组为一套海退背景下的沉积产物, 底部属海相沉积, 中、上部为陆相沉积。通过对野外剖面的岩性组合、沉积物的结构、原生沉积构造及沉积韵律等特征的研究, 在乌拉泊组中, 从底到顶识别出四种沉积相类型, 分别为潮坪相、滨岸水下扇相、辫状河流相和冲积扇相, 本区沉积相的演化主要受控于博格达陆间裂谷带的形成和发展.  相似文献

为研究宿州地区寒武系豹皮灰岩地球化学特征及其地质意义,对研究区岩石进行了系统鉴定,并对其主量元素和微量元素进行了地球化学测试。结果显示:寒武系豹皮灰Ti含量、Er/Nd、Y/Ho值均偏低,反应其形成过程中受到陆源碎屑的影响。元素具有明显的U、Pb、Sr、Sm富集及Ba、Nb、Ce、Pr、Zr亏损,稀土总量为3.07×10~(-6)~7.00×10~(-6)(平均为5.33×10~(-6)),低于典型海相灰岩值。V含量较低,V/Cr比值在1.02~1.73之间,说明豹皮灰岩形成于氧化环境;Sr/Ba异常值较高,反映了高度咸化条件下的海相沉积;Sr/Cu值暗示了干旱的气候条件。综合前述认识,研究区豹皮灰岩应形成于局限碳酸盐岩台地环境。  相似文献

文章通过对上海浦东机场孔(Pd)第四纪地层中地球化学微量元素B,Ga,Sr和Ba的观测,结合该钻孔粒度、古地磁和微体古生物等分析资料,综合剖析了这些微量元素及其比值在不同沉积相中的分布特征及其古环境演变的意义。研究发现,微量元素分布与本区各种沉积相有着十分密切的关系。通常,B和Sr及其比值B/Ga和Sr/Ba在冲积相、河流相沉积中较低,在溺谷-浅海相、三角洲相沉积中较高。而Ba与之相反,一般在陆相沉积环境中比较高。Ga元素在第四纪沉积物中的分布波动不明显,但极大值还是偏向陆相环境。本研究还发现微量元素B和Sr及其比值B/Ga,Sr/Ba的分布自下而上存在7个(1~7)高值阶段。阶段1~3高值与海侵无关,认为反映了上新世-早更新世干旱气候的产物;阶段4~7高值则与本区中更新世以来4次海侵事件密切相关。  相似文献

为了解酸性矿山排水(AMD)影响下水库沉积物中微量元素的质量分数水平及其分布特征,对常年受酸性废水影响的贵州兴仁猫石头水库沉积物中26种微量元素的质量分数、相关性及控制因素进行了分析。结果表明:猫石头水库沉积物柱中Sr、Ba、Zr、V、Cr和As质量分数平均值超过了100 μg/g,其中As质量分数最高,平均值超过800 μg/g;Be、Ta、Co、Ag、Cd、Sn和Se质量分数的平均值都在5 μg/g以下;其他元素质量分数平均值则在10~60 μg/g之间。相较未受AMD影响的水系沉积物,研究区水库沉积物具有明显的As和Sb富集特征。水库沉积物中Li、Be、Rb、Sr、Cs、Ba、Sc、Y、Zr、Hf、Nb、Ta、Th之间存在显著正相关关系,而As与这些元素之间存在显著负相关关系。元素相关分析、因子分析及微量元素图解表明,Li、Be、Rb、Sr、Cs、Ba、Sc、Y、Zr、Hf、Nb、Ta、Th、Cr、Sb等元素受控于流域岩石化学风化和土壤物理侵蚀,这也是控制研究区元素分布最重要的因素,而Cu、Cd等重金属元素则与AMD对地层中元素的溶蚀析出和有机质等细颗粒物的吸附有关。另外,研究区重金属元素中,Cd、Cu、Pb、Cr、Zn的生态风险轻微,而As和Sb则具有很强的潜在生态风险。  相似文献

The characteristic feature of many Upper Neoproterozoic glacial sequences is their “cap carbonates” (CC) resting without visible unconformity upon glaciogenic diamictites. Such an unusual association, peculiar structures and textures, and negative δ13C values (approximately −4 ± 2‰) that are atypical of marine carbonates provoked long debates about the nature of these carbonates, which play an important role in the Snowball Earth hypothesis. According to this hypothesis, the Earth was entirely covered by ice during large-scale glaciations, and CC accumulation was related to the global change in geochemical processes. In this work, we discuss data on the chemical and isotopic (C, O, Sr) compositions of CCs, which overlie glacial sediments of the Nichatka and Bol’shoi Patom formations accumulated in different parts of the Neoproterozoic Patom paleobasin (Central Siberia). High concentrations of Fe (up to 6400 ppm), Mn (2320 ppm), and radiogenic Sr (87Sr/86Sr0 up to 0.7172) established in CCs indicates a strong influence of the continental flow. Extraordinary Snowball Earth conditions are not necessary for the accumulation of these rocks, geochemical and sedimentological properties of which may be explained by the discharge of thawing waters into partly or completely isolated near-glacier basin, their intermittent freezing, and/or washout of “frozen” carbonates from the surface of thawing glaciers. The peculiar thin-laminated texture of CC may be related to seasonal processes of climatic cycles. They were accumulated in the course of general (relatively long-term) depletion of the atmosphere and hydrosphere in 13C, which has nothing to do with the CC formation as a specific type of carbonate sediments. Amplitude and duration of the negative δ13C excursion in carbonates associated with the Lower Vendian glacial sediments (665–635 Ma) are appreciably lower than the negative anomaly in rocks of the Zhuya Group that likely correspond to the Shuram-Vonoka Event (∼560−580 Ma ago), which probably marks the crucial point in the Precambrian deglaciation: mass destabilization of methane hydrates and degradation of the Early Vendian psychrosphere in oceans.  相似文献

The town of Salihli is situated in Gediz Graben in the western Anatolia. This region is important in terms of industry, mining, geothermal energy, water sources, and agricultural production. Geothermal flow and anthropogenic activities in Salihli threaten the surrounding environment due to the contamination of cold groundwater, surface water, and soil. The goal of the present study is to determine the environmental effects of the geothermal and anthropogenic activities in Salihli on soil, stream sediments, and water. Stream sediments and farm soil have been contaminated by substances derived from geothermal and industrial effluents. To this end, the quality review of the water was completed and the heavy metal levels in stream sediment samples were measured to determine the extent of contamination. The elements As, B, Br, Fe, and Ni are the major contaminants present in surface water and groundwater in the study area. The concentrations of these elements excess tolerance limits of international water standards. Gibbsite, K-mica, kaolinite, sepiolite, halite, sulfur, willemite, and Pb(OH)2 might be precipitated as scales at low temperatures on the soil; this could be interpreted as a resultant from soil contamination. The concentrations of 17 elements (As, Ba, B, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Li, Mo, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sr, and Zn) were measured in samples from stream sediments and surface soils. In the study area, especially geothermal and anthropogenic activities give rise to environmental pollution.  相似文献

Recent sedimentary history of natural environmental change and anthropogenic influence in an ephemeral river catchment has been reconstructed using selected major and trace elements, element ratios, and their different geochemical phases (Tessier sequential extraction methods), pollen, and grain size combined with 210Pb- and 137Cs-dating method in marsh sedimentary cores. Attempts were made to use selected element ratios with different geochemical phases—residual phase of Ti, Al, V, Cr, Ni, Rb, K, Sr, and Ba; mobile Sr and Ba—combined with 210Pb- and 137Cs-chronology to interpret certain time information of environmental changes saved within the marsh sediments. Results indicate that there were two marked humid periods during 1850–1860 ad and 1890–1920 ad, and sand storm activities prevailed during 1920–1930 ad. After about 1900 ad, soil erosion has increased with the extensive agricultural activities in the Huolin River catchments, and further intensified after 1950s. After 1980, soil erosion has become even more intense, which is consistent with the reinforcement of human activities, the drastic loss of vegetation cover in the upstream lands, especially, the exploitation of the open cast coalmine in the upstream of Huolin River at that time. Influenced by the inundation of the Huolin River, the heavy metal pollution historical trends in Xianghai marsh wetland could be roughly divided into three periods by analysis of sediment enrichment factor (KSEF) and the index of geoaccumulation (I geo):1760–1880 ad, 1880–1980 ad, and 1980–now. Human activities accelerate the inputs of heavy metal, which leads to degradation of the marsh. This study also investigated on source of marsh sediments (by Ti/Al), redox condition [by V/Cr and V/(V + Ni)], and salinization indicators (by Sr/Ba and Rb/K). The results demonstrate that sources of sediments and redox conditions were partly similar for both riparian and depressional marshes. Besides, some differences in degree of salinization between two types of marsh were also identified, especially after 1880.  相似文献

福建沿岸晚更新世地层中微体古生物化石较为缺乏,极大限制了对该区晚第四纪海侵过程的深入研究。针对这一问题,本研究以闽北2个海湾内的第四纪钻孔为研究对象,通过有孔虫化石以及沉积成因的地球化学元素(Sr/Ba、Mn/Fe)分析,结合三沙湾表层沉积物相应指标,探讨沉积成因的地球化学元素指示海侵地层的可行性。结果显示,2个海湾钻孔的晚第四纪地层中均发育3套疑似海相深灰色黏土层,其中开放海湾霞浦湾钻孔底部黏土层中缺失有孔虫,半封闭海湾三沙湾钻孔中有孔虫仅出现于顶部黏土层中。这3层黏土层的Sr/ Ba值远大于1,和现代潮滩—河口湾体系相近,且出现的海相沟鞭藻和自生黄铁矿为典型的海相地层特征。基于已有的OSL和AMS14C年龄框架,这3层海侵层分别对应于MIS5、MIS3和MIS1期,Sr/Ba和Mn/Fe均值从MIS5到MIS1期不断增大,结合现代潮滩-河口湾体系指标,表明从MIS5到MIS1期海侵强度的增加。由此可见,沉积成因地球化学元素指标可以有效辨识闽北海湾晚更新世海侵地层,这将有助于进一步了解该区晚第四纪海侵过程及其控制因素。  相似文献

Syngenetic carbonate nodules constitute an interesting feature of the glaciogene sediments of various Talchir basins in peninsular India. Petrographic, cathodoluminescence and sedimentary results suggest that many of these nodules contain primary carbonate precipitates whose geochemical signatures can be used for determining environment of deposition and provenance of the sediments and drainage source. Several nodules were collected from Gondwana basins of east-central India and analyzed for stable carbon and oxygen isotope ratios, REE and trace element composition, and Sr isotope ratio. The mean δ18O and δ13C values of the calcites in the nodules are — 19.5% and-9.7% (w.r.t. PDB) respectively suggesting a freshwater environment (probably lacustrine) for formation of these objects. Trace element ratios (Eu/Eu * and La/Yb) of the nodule samples show that the source of the sediments in the Damodar valley basin was the granites, gneisses and intrusives in the Chotanagpur region. The sediments in the Mahanadi valley were derived from granulites, charnockites and granites of the eastern ghat region. The Sr concentration of the carbonate phase of the nodules is low, ranging from 10–60 ng/g. The87Sr/86Sr ratios of the samples from the west Bokaro basin and Ramgarh basin vary from 0.735 to 0.748 (mean: 0.739) and from 0.726 to 0.733 (mean: 0.730) respectively. These values are consistent with our proposition that water of these basins drained through the granitic rocks of the Chotanagpur region. In contrast, the87Sr/86Sr ratios of the samples from the Talchir basin (Type area) of Mahanadi valley vary from 0.718 to 0.723 (mean: 0.719). These87Sr/86Sr ratios are close to those of the granulites in the adjoining eastern ghat belt suggesting that area as the drainage source.  相似文献

An approximate biogenic contribution of minor elements to sapropel of Lake Kirek in West Siberia is estimated using the “model of direct inheritance” of their composition in plankton by OM of bottom sediments (Yudovich and Ketris, 1990). It is shown that the lifetime accumulation of P, Br, and Zn in copepod zooplankton of Lake Kirek notably affects the concentration of these elements in sapropelic mud (biogenic contribution is approximately 95–53%). The biogenic share of other elements in these sediments is substantially lower: approximately 30% for Sr and Ba; 26–16% for Ca, Pb, Cd, Cu, K, Mg, and Cr; and no more than 5% for As, Co, Fe, Ni, Ti, Y, and Mo.  相似文献

The concentration of dissolved Ba in a number of rivers having their drainage almost entirely in Deccan Trap basalts has been measured. These results along with available data on the abundances of major elements in these waters, and on Ba and major elements in bed sediments of these rivers provide a measure of (i) the relative mobility of Ba during chemical weathering and erosion of basalts, particularly with respect to alkaline earths, Mg, Ca and Sr, and (ii) the flux of Ba out of the Deccan and its global significance. The concentration of dissolved Ba ranges from 8 to 105 nM. The average Ba/Mg*, Ba/Ca* and Ba/Sr (* is concentration corrected for atmospheric contribution) in waters is lower than the corresponding mean ratios in Deccan basalts, though they overlap within errors. Majority of the water samples, however, have ratios less than that in basalts. These findings can be interpreted as a cumulative effect of limited release/mobility of Ba during chemical weathering and erosion of basalts and its reactive behaviour in waters which promote its association with clays and oxy-hydroxides of Fe. These results also indicate that during chemical erosion of Deccan basalts, Ba is the least mobile among the alkaline earth elements. The abundance of Ba in sediments and their Ba/Al ratios relative to basalts are consistent with the above conclusion. Ba/Mg and Ba/Ca ratios in water and in sediments from the same location are strongly correlated; however, the mean ratios in waters are far less than those in sediments. This is a result of limited Ba mobility, effectively 5–6 times lower than that of Mg. The annual flux of dissolved Ba out of the Deccan Traps is ~1 × 107 moles, ~ 0.2% of its global riverine transport to oceans. The contribution of dissolved Ba from Deccan Traps, seem lower than its aerial coverage, ~ 0.5% of the global drainage area; the potential causes for this could be the lower abundance of Ba in basalts relative to “average continental crust”, and its behaviour during chemical weathering and erosion.  相似文献

Coastal marine sediments are commonly enriched in metals, including potentially toxic trace metals, by natural processes and human activities. These sediments have long been regarded as the final repositories of contaminants, but in recent years it has been recognized that they can also serve as potentially important sources of metal contaminants for benthic organisms and benthic food chains in general. The geochemical and biological factors governing the bioavailability of diverse metals (Ag, Cd, Co, Cr, Se, Zn) that are bound to different kinds of marine sediments are reviewed. Particular attention has been paid to those species of marine bivalve mollusks that are used as bioindicators of coastal contamination. Both deposit-feeding and suspension-feeding bivalves can accumulate metals appreciably by assimilating sediment-bound metals that are ingested, although important differences have been recognized between these two feeding modes as well as between metals. The properties of the digestive tracts of deposit and suspension-feeding bivalves that influence metal bioaccumulation from food are also discussed. Through kinetic modeling, the relative importance of ingestion as a route of metal uptake has been compared quantitatively with uptake from the dissolved phase, including from pore water and from overlying water, and has been shown to account for the high concentrations in bivalve tissues for a number of contaminant metals.  相似文献

探索海相有效烃源岩判识指标仍是我国油气勘探中尚待解决的重要科研任务之一。古生产力及氧化还原条件是研究全球变化和海洋环境的重要内容,也是重塑有效烃源岩发育环境的主要参数。Si、Ba是古生产力的替代指标,Cd对古营养盐的反演具良好前景。过渡金属及其相关比值是缺氧环境的有效判识指标,可用其推断有机质保存条件。δ13Ccarb正偏移指示有机质埋藏量增加,是底部水体缺氧的响应。过渡金属同位素(δ65Cu、δ66Zn、δ97Mo)受生物活动及氧化还原条件的影响发生较大分馏,示踪环境变化具灵敏、高效性。将这些无机参数对古环境的示踪意义引入油气地质研究,从环境角度分析某一套地层能否发育有效烃源岩,进而探讨高演化海相有效烃源岩的判识,就更具特殊意义。  相似文献

A new way of formation of the problematic Molar Tooth (MT) structures, which, along with stromatolites, could be considered as a “visiting card” of the Riphean, was examined on the example of carbonate sediments of the Riphean Sukhaya Tunguska Formation from the Turukhansk Uplift, Siberia. These structures were formed due to the consequent replacement of oozy constituent of carbonate sediments with calcitic microsparite in the course of diagenesis with substantial shift of the dynamic equilibrium toward the solution in the sediment—porous solution—microsparite system. An excess of soluble magnesium significantly hampering precipitation of crystal cores of the future calcitic microsparite could be one of the possible causes of the shift. It is suggested that magnesium mole fraction of the porous solutions was related to the early dissolution of the metastable high-Mg calcite of the silty sediment brought from the areas of active stromatolite formation. The facies occurrence of the MT-structures indicates that they occurred in descending trails of the most productive zones of carbonate platforms tapering toward the basin. The synchronism of stratigraphic trends of the MT-structures and stromatolites in the Precambrian resulted from the evolution of carbonate-productive microbe-mineral systems which were the immediate suppliers of fine-grained carbonate sediment into external zones of carbonate platforms.  相似文献

地震液化脉是地震作用引起的软沉积变形的重要构造之一,前人对脉体形态学和动力学做了大量的研究工作,但对其成因的微观地球化学行为研究较少。笔者采取开化裴岭脚剖面2期地震事件沉积的3套地震液化脉层样品21块,分别对其脉体和含脉体围岩做了微量元素分析。结果显示,液化脉中Cs、Ba、Th、Zr、Hf、Cr、Rb、Nb等反映陆源性质元素明显高于含脉体围岩,而Sr、Y、Ni反映海相沉积特征元素则表现为含脉体围岩高于脉体。通过对V、Mo富集度和微量元素特征参数Sr/Ba、Th/U等的综合研究,发现液化脉体表现为氧化环境,含脉体围岩为还原环境,且脉体和围岩均具有淡水作用特点。研究认为,早寒武世大陈岭期白云质灰岩沉积过程中有蚀源区陆源碎屑物的补入;在地震突发振动力作用下,富含水的软沉积层液化泄水,因化学沉积物和碎屑沉积物性质的差异,塑性碳酸盐沉积物随水部分流失,使得单位体积内碳酸盐沉积含量低于围岩,导致脉体中更富陆源物质;地震事件沉积层属潮上带,特别是地震液化泄水后期至成岩期,含地震液化脉沉积层曾暴露地表,受后期陆源物的再补给及大气降水淋滤蚀变作用影响,表现为古气候和古盐度异常,为浙西大陈岭组浅水沉积提供了地球化学的证据。  相似文献
