Spectra of sunspots in the regions of the Li I 6708 Å line and certain Fe I and Ca I lines are presented. The observations wee carried out in August 2014 using a CCD array mounted at the BST-2 telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. Sunspot models based on the observed Fe I and Ca I line profiles have been computed, and used together with the observed Li I 6708 Å profiles to determine the lithium abundances. The mean lithium abundance for the sunspots observed on August 26, 2014 is logA(Li) = 1.2 (on a scale for which logA(H) = 12.0). Sunspot spectra obtained on October 8, 2011 were also analyzed, yielding logA(Li) = 1.02.  相似文献

Synthetic spectrum of the peculiar roAp star HD 101065 (Przybylski’s Star) have been computed in the wavelength interval 6705.8–6708.7 Å in order to describe the observed spectrum in the vicinity of the 6708 Å lithium line. Our detailed computations of the synthetic spectrum allowing for the hyperfine structure of the lithium line, lithium isotopic composition, and blending due to lines of rare-earth elements (CeII, NdII, SmII, and others) have yielded estimates of the atmospheric lithium abundance of the star and its 6Li/7Li isotopic ratio.  相似文献

The λ 6708 Å and 6103 Å lithium lines in the high-resolution spectra of some sharp-lined roAp stars are analyzed using three spectral-synthesis codes STARSP, ZEEMAN2, and SYNTHM. The lines from the VALD database were supplemented with lines of rare-earth elements from the DREAM database and new lines calculated using the NIST energy levels. Our synthetic-spectrum calculations take into account magnetic splitting and other line-broadening effects. Lithium overabundances were found in the atmospheres of the stars based on our analysis of both lithium lines, along with high values of the 6Li-7Li isotope ratio (0.2–0.5). This can be explained if lithium is produced in spallation reactions and the surface 6Li and 7Li is preserved by strong magnetic fields in the upper layers of the stellar atmospheres, around the poles of the dipole field. The asymmetry of lithium lines to the red may be due to the action of shocks in the optically thin upper atmosphere, with the shocked material subsequently falling onto the star.  相似文献

Taking into account blending of the lithium 6108 Å line profile by adjacent rare-earth lines together with their spotted surface structure does not appreciably affect lithium abundance estimates for the atmospheres of HD 83368 and HD 60435 but provides a better fit of the observed and stimulated line profiles. Our computed non-LTE corrections reduce the lithium abundance estimates by 0.1–0.2 dex for both stars. Given the uncertainties in the lithium abundances, it is not possible to be certain whether the lithium abundances in roAp stars, or at least in their spots, exceed the cosmic (primordial) value.  相似文献

The magnetic-field structure in solar active regions outside spots is studied. The line-of-sight fields were measured using the new Crimean digital magnetograph in three spectral lines—Fe I 5253 Å, Fe II 5234 Å, and Ti I 5193 Å. Observations in the Fe II 5234 Å line indicate systematically higher field strengths than those in the Fe I 5253 Å line. The magnetic fluxes in 2″ elements are ~4.3×1018 Mx, ~4.6×1018 Mx, and ~6.2×1018 Mx according to the Fe I 5253 Å, Ti I 5193 Å, and FeII 5234 Å observations, respectively. Elements 2″–8″ in size make the largest contribution to the magnetic fluxes of active regions outside spots.  相似文献

We present the results of multicolor photometry of the two spotted, short-period, late-type RS CVn stars BH Vir and WY Cnc. We have derived the parameters of the binaries’ components, and refined their masses, radii, and luminosities. A strong flare of WY Cnc was detected for the first time, and pre-flare variations of the star’s activity studied. Our observations and published data spanning 40 years are analyzed using a zone starspot model. We demonstrate that the spots are always concentrated near the equators and at intermediate latitudes, with maximum spotted areas as large as 29% for BH Vir and 21% for WY Cnc. The temperature differences between spotted regions and the quiet photosphere were 2300 K (BH Vir) and 1800 K (WY Cnc). The detected long-term brightness variations of BH Vir suggest the existence of an activity cycle with a probable period of 22 years. Both stars have starspots concentrated at two active longitudes separated by approximately half of the orbital period during all the studied seasons; these longitudes remained the same (0° and 184°) for BH Vir over 40 years, whereas they migrated in the direction of the stellar rotation at a rate of 3.8°/yr for WY Cnc, suggesting a cycle of 47 years for the migration of the active longitudes.  相似文献

The results of numerical modeling of lithium lines in the spectra of M dwarfs are discussed. The behavior of the lithium lines relative to the local pseudocontinuum formed by molecular bands is analyzed as a function of model atmosphere parameters: effective temperature T eff, gravity logg, and metallicity μ The molecular opacity was computed using the just overlapping line approximation (JOLA) and “line-by-line” methods. The pseudo-equivalent widths of lithium lines depend appreciably on metallicity μ and weakly on T{nteff}. The lithium abundance in the atmosphere of UX Tau C is redetermined. Previous studies underestimated the lithium abundance in this star as a result of the use of insufficiently accurate molecular-line lists. The new lithium abundance log N (Li)=3.2±0.3was derived by comparing the observed profiles of the 670.8 nm resonance doublet lines with profiles calculated using the new TiO line list of Plez.1 The new abundance agrees with the atmospheric lithium abundances of the other two components in the stellar system, providing further evidence that the three stars in the UX Tau system have the same age. A comparison of the observed spectra of UX Tau C near the lithium resonance doublet (665–680 nm) with spectra computed using JOLA and line-by-line methods suggests that the list of Plez is the best currently available.  相似文献

The results of a spottedness study for twelve red dwarf stars covering several decades and based on a vast amount of photometric observations are presented. The analysis makes use of multicolor (UBV RI) photometric monitoring of ten of these stars since 1991 at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, as well as data from the literature. The spottedness parameters for selected active BY Dra red dwarfs have been refined using an improved zonal model for the spotted stellar atmospheres to allow for the possible presence of two active longitudes on the stars. Time variations in the spot activity of these systems are analyzed in order to look for possible cycles. Three of the stars show a drift of their spots in the latitude towards the stellar poles; however, the magnitude of this latitude drift is a factor of two to three lower than the analogous value for sunspots. All the stars except for YZ CMi display relationships between the area of the spots and their latitude, with correlation coefficients R from 0.67 to 0.97. Evidence for the presence of activity cycles with durations from 25 to 40 years is found for six stars, which are characterized by synchronous variations in the areas and latitudes of their spots, as well as of the overall photometric brightness.  相似文献

We have analyzed for the first time profiles of the SiIII 1892 Å and CIII 1909 Å intercombinational lines in HST spectra of the stars RY Tau and RU Lup. The widths of these optically thin lines exceeded 400 km/s, ruling out formation in the stellar chromosphere. Since the intensity of the Si line exceeds that of the C line, it is unlikely that a large fraction of the observed line flux is formed in a stellar wind. The observed profiles can be reproduced in the framework of an accretion shock model if the velocity field in the accretion zone is appreciably nonaxisymmetric. In this case, the line profiles should display periodic variations, which can be used to determine the accretion zone geometry and the topology of the magnetic field near the stellar surface; corresponding formulas are presented. In addition, periodic variations of the 0.3–0.7 keV X-ray flux should be observed.  相似文献

The Vienna Atomic Line Database (VALD) has been supplemented with new data and new functionality—the possibility of taking into account the effect of hyperfine splitting (HFS) of atomic levels in the analysis of line profiles. This has been done through the creation of an ancillary SQL database with the HFS constants for atomic levels of 58 isotopes of 30 neutral and singly-ionized atoms. The completeness of the collected data and new opportunities for studies of stars of various spectral types is analyzed. The database enables analysis of splitting of up to 60% of lines with measurable effects in the ultraviolet (λ ≳ 1000 Å ), and up to 100% of such lines in the optical and infrared ranges (λ ≲ 25 000 Å ) for A–M stars. In the spectra of hot O–B stars, it is necessary to use laboratory measurements for atoms in the second and higher stages of ionization.

We analyze the formation of lines of neutral sulfur in the spectra of F-K stars taking into account the effects of deviations from local thermodynamical equilibrium (LTE). Our calculations were carried out for Kurucz model atmospheres with T eff = 5000–6500 K, log g = 2?4 and [Fe/H] = ?4?0, using a 65-level model of the SI atom. Deviations from LTE affect lines of different multiplets of the sulfur atom differently. Non-LTE corrections, which are relatively small (to ?0.10 dex) for the 6543–6557 Å lines, increase to ?0.26 dex for the 8694 Å line, and reach ?1.1 dex for the 9212–9237 Å IR triplet. The model of the atom was verified by modeling the sulfur lines of the studied multiplets in the spectra of the Sun, two main sequence stars, and two supergiants. Good consistency with the observed line profiles was obtained. Failure to take into account strong non-LTE-effects may explain the large sulfur excesses detected in stars with very low metal abundances.  相似文献

A study of the optical spectra of three Herbig Ae/Be stars is presented: MWC 361,MWC 614, AB Aur. Variations of the equivalent widths, radial velocities, and profiles of spectral lines formed in different regions of the circumstellar environments of these stars are analyzed. The most active spectral variations are observed in the Hα, Hβ, and He I 5876 lines. Other emission lines, such as Si II λλ6347, 6371 Åand [O I] λλ6300, 6363 Å, also display variations, but these are much smaller. Interstellar DIBs at λλ5780 and 5797 ?A were detected for the stars MWC 361 and MWC 614 for the first time. The active processes that are underway in the circumstellar environments of these systems can also reach more distant, outer parts of their circumstellar disks.  相似文献

The origin of solar-type activity for low-mass stars of late spectral types is considered. Spectroscopic data were used to study the dependence of the activity level logR HK on the lithium abundance logA(Li) and axial rotation rate. A close correlation between logA(Li) and logR HK is found for two groups of G stars, hotter and cooler than the Sun. This relation is most clearly expressed in the case of high activity, and is somewhat more strongly expressed for G6-K3 dwarfs, which includes many BY Dra variables, than for F8-G5 stars. It is confirmed that, for stars with high activity, both the lithium abundance and the activity level are determined by the rotation rate, which depends on the age. The lithium abundance exhibits different dependences on the chromospheric activity, depending on the level of this activity. Cooler stars, with detectable lithium and solar-like chromospheres, possess much stronger coronas. This change in the relationship between the relative luminosities of the chromosphere and corona can be reliably traced using larger datasets. The different ratios between the activity of the choromosphere and corona for cooler and hotter G stars may reflect the fact that their convective zones become deeper or shallower than some critical value. This is consistent with observations of parameters describing rotational modulation and the correlation and anti-correlation of chromospheric and photospheric activity indices for stars hotter and cooler than the Sun. Physically, this means that the character of the activity could be related to a changing contribution of the large-scale and local magnetic fields to the generation of the activity. The results of this study confirm the earlier idea that there may be different evolution paths associated with solar-type activity. The results can be used to refine methods for estimating ages of stars from their activity levels (gyrochronology).  相似文献

We have confirmed the BY Dra-type variability of the active spotted stars MS Ser, LQ Hya, VY Ari, and EK Dra using simultaneous UBVRI photometric and polarimetric observations. We have also reliably detected the intrinsic linear polarization of their radiation and its rotational modulation in U due to the inhomogeneous distribution of active magnetized regions over the surfaces of the stars. Modeling of the linear polarization based on the Zeeman effect indicates that all the stars display strong local magnetic fields (about 2 kG, similar to those in sunspots), with filling factors of up to 40% of the total stellar surface. The magnetized regions coincide with cool photospheric spots detected in photoelectric observations.  相似文献

We present the results of new multicolor photometry of the chromospherically active binary CG Cyg acquired in 2005–2009 (136 hours of observations). The light curves for each season reveal rotational brightness modulation due to spots that varies in amplitude and phase from season to season. We have determined the longitudes of spotted areas: for each season, they were located on the primary, close to the line joining the centers of the components. The longitude distribution of spots was analyzed for 44 years of observations of CG Cyg using all data available in the literature. The active longitudes of CG Cyg are not fixed at the quadratures, as was believed earlier: most of the time (1965–2003), the spots were concentrated at two active longitudes at the quadratures, at orbital phases 0.28±0.06 and 0.70±0.08, but, during a shorter time after 2004, they were located along the line joining the component centers, at orbital phases 0.50 ± 0.04 and 0.93 ± 0.03. We detected a switch of the active longitude by 180° during 1.5 months in 2008, accompanied by an increase in the amplitude of the rotational brightness modulation and only a slight increase in the star’s spotted area (by 5%). Our analysis of archive data reveals that switches of the active longitude during time intervals of 1–1.5 months were observed three times during the entire observational history of CG Cyg (in 1991, as well as in our observations of 2003 and 2008). All these switches were accompanied by similar phenomena: an increase in the amplitude of the rotational brightness modulation (by 0.06 m , 0.02 m , and 0.04 m ) and an increase in the spotted area (by 79%, 11%, and 5%). We used a zonal spot model to reconstruct the parameters of the spotted regions on CG Cyg. At all our observing epochs, the spots were located at low latitudes, in a region that was symmetric about the equator, 10° to 14° wide on either side. The spots are cooler than the surrounding photosphere by 2000 K. The spotted area varied only slightly from season to season, comprising 13%–15% of the surface area of the star, close to the historic spottedness maximum for the CG Cyg system.  相似文献

锂同位素在地质学、地球化学研究中有着广阔的应用前景。简单介绍了锂同位素研究已取得的进展,并在四川甲基卡伟晶岩型锂多金属矿床研究中开展应用。研究表明,四川甲基卡锂矿床中2件锂辉石的锂含量非常高,分别为33 592×10-6和34 264×10-6,相应的δ7Li值分别为-0.6‰和-0.4‰,平均值为-0.5‰,而二云母花岗岩中黑云母的锂含量为7 350×10-6,δ7Li值为+0.6‰,两者在误差范围内具有非常好的一致性,证明锂辉石来源于二云母花岗岩,这与其他包裹体、同位素地球化学和年代学证据等相一致。  相似文献

We have modeled the magnetic fields of the slowly rotating stars HD 116458 and HD 126515 using the “magnetic charge” technique. HD 116458 has a small angle between its rotation axis and dipole axis (β = 12°), whereas this angle is large for HD 126515 (β = 86°). Both stars can be described with a decentered-dipole model, with the respective displacements being r = 0.07 and r = 0.24 in units of the stellar radius. The decentered-dipole model is able to satisfactorily explain the phase relations for the effective field, Be(P), and the mean surface field, Bs(P), for both stars, along with the fact that the Be(P) phase relation for HD 126515 is anharmonic. We discuss the role of systematic measurement errors possibly resulting from instrumental or methodical effects in one or both of the phase relations. The displacement of the dipole probably reflects real asymmetry of the stellar field structure, and is not due to measurement errors. Using both phase relations, Be(P) and Bs(P), in the modeling considerably reduces the influence of the nonuniform distribution of chemical elements on the stellar surface.  相似文献

The spottedness of two stars characterized by significant photometric variability is studied using published data: the recently discovered variable ASAS 063656-0521.0, whose V variability reaches 0.8 m , and XXTri (HD12545), which is among the most active RSCVn stars (in 1997–1998, the amplitude of its V variability was 0.63 m ). The spots cover up to 44% of the total visible surface S of ASAS 063656-0521.0. The mean estimated spottedness of XX Tri was 32%, and varied from29% to 36%. An analysis of the dependence of the spottedness on the properties of spotted stars, primarily their effective temperatures, is also presented. A modification of a simplifiedmethod for estimating the spottedness S, i.e., the fractional surface area of the spots, is applied to a sample of 48 late-type stars. The dependences of the spottedness on the effective temperature of the stars and the rotational velocity projected onto the line of sight are derived. Two groups of objects can be distinguished. The first contains stars displaying the typical dependence of S on the effective temperature (their maximum value of S is 20–25% for stars with temperatures 4500–5000 K, and S decreases for solar-type stars and cool M dwarfs). The second group is formed of the most active stars, which have temperatures of 3700–5200 K and S values from 25% to 50%. Our preliminary conclusion is that spottedness is not related to the period of the stellar rotation. The previously studied variable V410 Tau is used to consider the shortcomings of the method applied compared to the results of light-curve modeling.  相似文献
