We apply the energy-momentum tensor which is coordinate independent, of the gravitational field established in the Hamiltonian structure of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR), to an axially symmetric tetrad field to calculate energy, momentum and angular momentum. Also the definition of the gravitational energy is used to investigate the energy within the external event horizon of this tetrad.  相似文献

Two different charged dilaton black holes in 4-dimension, within teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR), are derived. These solutions are related through local Lorentz transformation. The total energy of these black holes, using three different methods, the Hamiltonian method, the translational momentum 2-form and the Euclidean continuation method given by Gibbons and Hawking, is calculated. It is shown that the three methods give the same results. The value of energy is shown to depend on the mass M and charge q. The verification of the first law of thermodynamics is proved. Finally, it is shown that if the charge q is vanishing then, the total energy reduced to that of Schwarzschild’s black hole.  相似文献

A general tetrad fields, with an arbitrary function of radial coordinate, preserving spherical symmetry, is provided. Such tetrad is split into two matrices: The first matrix represents a Local Lorentz Transformation (LLT), which contains an arbitrary function. The second matrix represents a proper tetrad fields which satisfy the field equations of f(T) gravitational theory. This general tetrad is applied to the field equations of f(T). We derive a solution with one constant of integration to the resulting field equations of f(T). This solution gives a vanishing value of the scalar torsion. We calculate the energy associated with this solution to investigate what is the nature of the constant of integration.  相似文献

A version of the virial theorem is derived in a brane-world scenario in the framework of a warped DGP model where the action on the brane is an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar, $\mathcal{L}(R)$ . The extra terms in the modified Einstein equations generate an equivalent mass term (geometrical mass), which give an effective contribution to the gravitational energy and offer viable explanation to account for the virial mass discrepancy in clusters of galaxies. We also obtain the radial velocity dispersion of galaxy clusters and show that it is compatible with the radial velocity dispersion profile of such clusters. Finally, we compare the result of the model with $\mathcal{L}(R)$ gravity theories.  相似文献

Due to the Hubble redshift, photon energy, chiefly in the form of CMBR photons, is currently disappearing from the universe at the rate of nearly 1055 erg s−1. An ongoing problem in cosmology concerns the fate of this energy. In one interpretation it is irretrievably lost, i.e., energy is not conserved on the cosmic scale. Here we consider a different possibility which retains universal energy conservation. Treating gravitational potential energy conventionally as ‘negative’, it has earlier been proposed that the Hubble shift flips positive energy (photons) to negative energy (gravitons) and vice versa. The lost photon energy would thus be directed towards gravitation, making gravitational energy wells more negative. Conversely, within astrophysical bodies, the flipping of gravitons to photons would give rise to a ‘Hubble luminosity’ of magnitude −UH 0, where U is the internal gravitational potential energy of the object. Preliminary evidence of such an energy release is presented in bodies ranging from planets, white dwarfs and neutron stars to supermassive black holes and the visible universe.  相似文献

We consider the evolution of a neutron star binary system under the effect of two factors: gravitational radiation and mass transfer between the components. Gravitational radiation is specified under the justified assumption of a circular orbit and point masses and in the approximation of a weak gravitational field at nonrelativistic velocities of the binary components. During the first evolutionary phase determined only by gravitational radiation, the neutron stars approach each other according to a simple analytical solution. The second evolutionary phase begins at the time of Roche-lobe filling by the low-mass component, when the second factor, mass transfer as a result of mass loss by the latter, also begins to affect the evolution. Under the simplest assumptions of conservative mass transfer and exact equality between the Roche-lobe radius and the radius of the low-mass neutron star, it is still possible to extend the analytical solution of the problem of evolution to its second phase. We present this complete solution at both phases and, in particular, give theoretical light curves of gravitational radiation that depend only on two dimensionless parameters (m t and δ 0). Based on the solution found, we analyze the theoretical gravitational signals from SN 1987A; this analysis includes the hypothesis about the rotational explosion mechanism for collapsing supernovae.  相似文献

We investigate the instability driven by viscosity in rotating relativistic stars by means of an iterative approach. We focus on polytropic rotating equilibrium stars and impose an m=2 perturbation in the lapse. We vary both the stiffness of the equation of state and the compactness of the star to study these factors on the critical value T/W for the instability. For a rigidly rotating star, the criterion T/W, where T is the rotational kinetic energy and W the gravitational binding energy, mainly depends on the compactness of the star and takes values around 0.13–0.16, which slightly differ from that of Newtonian incompressible stars (∼0.14). For differentially rotating stars, the critical value of T/W is found to span the range 0.17–0.25. The value is significantly larger than in the rigidly rotating case with the same compactness of the star. Finally we discuss the possibility of detecting gravitational waves from viscosity-driven instabilities using ground-based interferometers.   相似文献

We present an approximate solution of global monopole based on Lyra geometry retaining terms of the order 1/3 2 in the energy momentum tensor for a triplet scalar field. Also the gravitational field of the monopole solution has been considered. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

In this paper, we study anisotropic compact stars with static cylindrically symmetric anisotropic matter distribution satisfying polytropic equation of state. We formulate the field equations as well as the corresponding mass function for the particular form of gravitational potential \(z(x)=(1+bx)^{\eta }~(\eta =1,~2,~3)\) and explore exact solutions of the field equations for different values of the polytropic index. The values of arbitrary constants are determined by taking mass and radius of compact star (Her X-1). We find that resulting solutions show viable behavior of physical parameters (density, radial as well as tangential pressure, anisotropy) and satisfy the stability condition. It is concluded that physically acceptable solutions exist only for \(\eta =1,~2\).  相似文献

We report a general solution in one of the gravitational potentials to the Einstein system in static spherically symmetric spacetime, modeling anisotropic strange quark matter by imposing a linear barotropic equation of state. The model generated by choosing Tolmann IV form for the gravitational potential is shown to contain the previously known anisotropic dark energy star model of Lobo (Class. Quantum Gravity 23:1525, 2006) and isotropic models of de Sitter and Einstein. Moreover, the model is shown to be physically admissible and corroborate with experimental observations on strange star candidates such as SAX J1808.4-3658 and 4U 1820-30.  相似文献

We use gravitational Lagrangians Rk √− g and linear combinations of them motivated from trials how to overcome the non- renormalizability of Einstein' s theory. We ask under which circumstances the de Sitter space- time represents an attractor solution in the set of spatially flat Friedman models. This property ensures the inflationary model to be a typical solution; nowadays, this property is called cosmic no hair theorem because it is analogous to the no hair theorem for black holes. Results are: for arbitrary k, i.e., for arbitrarily large order 2k + 4 of the field equation, one can always find examples where the attractor property takes place. Such examples necessarily need a non- vanishing R2- term. The main formulas do not depend on the dimension, so one gets similar results also for 1+1- dimensional gravity and for Kaluza- Klein cosmology.  相似文献

We solve the cosmological equations for the bimetric scalar—tensor theory of gravitation (BSTT) for a flat model of the Friedmann type with the equation of state p = a. In the initial stage of expansion, the energy density of the scalar field dominates over the energy density of matter. As a result, the behavior of the solution in this limit does not depend on a. For later stages of expansion of the Universe, the solution obtained goes to a special solution having the form of a power law function of time. In this case, the relative change in the gravitational scalar is proportional to the Hubble parameter. In the limit of large values for the parameter of the theory, only a simple solution with zero value of the constant of integration goes to the corresponding Friedmann solution of general relativity theory.Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 37, No. 2, pp. 351–362, April–June, 1994.I would like to thank L. We study the holographic dark energy on the subject of Hořava-Lifshitz gravity with a time dependent gravitational constant G(t), in the non-flat space-time. We obtain the differential equation that specify the evolution of the dark energy density parameter based on varying gravitational constant. We find out a relation for the state parameter of the dark energy equation of state to low red-shifts which containing varying G corrections in the non-flat space-time.  相似文献

Dynamics of molecular clouds on the galactic scale   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We have carried out an extensive investigation into the dynamics of the molecular clouds in the disk of the Galaxy. We have used both computational methods and physical arguments to try to understand how the ensemble of molecular clouds interacts, how the clouds are affected by the gravitational field of the Galaxy and also the circumstances under which they can aggregate into giant molecular clouds (GMC's).The dynamical model is three dimensional and consists of 120,000 spherical clouds, each having a mass of 104 M . It allows for the mutual gravitation between clouds, up to a cut-off distance; when two clouds collide they rebound, with a specified coefficient of restitutione. We have also developed a physically more realistic model for a cloud, supported by a magnetic field, and used it to select a suitable range of values fore. Our first paper deals with the case of an axially symmetrical galaxy. The clouds are distributed initially in a disk extending 100 pc on either side of the Galactic plane. As it evolves the system of clouds loses energy, and the disk grows thinner at a rate which depends on the value ofe. GMC's start to form once the disk is thin enough. We believe this result to be valid more generally, and that it holds also in models with spiral structure.  相似文献

We show that in the framework of R2 gravity and in the linearized approach it is possible to obtain spherically symmetric stationary states that can be used as a model for galaxies. Such approach could represent a solution to the Dark Matter Problem. In fact, in the model, the Ricci curvature generates a high energy term that can in principle be identified as the dark matter field making up the galaxy. The model can also help to have a better understanding on the theoretical basis of Einstein-Vlasov systems. Specifically, we discuss, in the linearized R2 gravity, the solutions of a Klein-Gordon equation for the spacetime curvature. Such solutions describe high energy scalarons, a field that in the context of galactic dynamics can be interpreted like the no-light-emitting galactic component. That is, these particles can be figured out like wave-packets showing stationary solutions in the Einstein-Vlasov system. In such approximation, the energy of the particles can be thought of as the galactic dark matter component that guarantees the galaxy equilibrium. Thus, because of the high energy of such particles the coupling constant of the R2-term in the gravitational action comes to be very small with respect to the linear term R. In this way, the deviation from standard General Relativity is very weak, and in principle the theory could pass the Solar System tests. As pertinent to the issue under analysis in this paper, we present an analysis on the gravitational lensing phenomena within this framework.Although the main goal of this paper is to give a potential solution to the Dark Matter Problem within galaxies, we add a section where we show that an important property of the Bullet Cluster can in principle be explained in the scenario introduced in this work.To the end, we discuss the generic prospective to give rise to the Dark Matter component of most galaxies within extended gravity.  相似文献

In an effort to understand the nature of almost periodic orbits in the n-body problem (for all time t) we look first to the more basic question of the oscillatory nature of solutions of this problem (on a half-line, usually taken as R +). Intimately related to this is the notion of a conjugate point(due to A. Wintner) of a solution. Specifically, by rewriting the mass unrestricted general problem of n-bodies in a symmetric form we prove that in the gravitational Newtonian n-body problem with collisionless motions there exists arbitrarily large conjugate points in the case of arbitrary (positive) masses whenever the cube of the reciprocal of at least one of the mutual distances is not integrable at infinity. The implication of this result is that there are possibly many Wintner oscillatorysolutions in these cases (some of which may or may not be almost periodic). As a consequence, we obtain sufficient conditions for all continuable solutions (to infinity) to be either unbounded or to allow for near misses (at infinity). The results also apply to potentials other than Newtonian ones. Our techniques are drawn from results in systems oscillation theory and are applicable to more general situations. A recurrence relation for inclination functions   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0
When the terms of the series expansion for the gravitational potential of the Earth are expressed in terms of the orbital elements of an arbitrary Earth satellite, the orbital inclination,i, appears in each, term as the argument of a function of inclination only. For the special case when the field is axi-symmetric, studied in an earlier paper, a recurrence relation was given for a normalized inclination function,A k l(i), with two parameters. The present paper gives a recurrence relation for a general normalized function,K k lm(i), with three parameters.  相似文献
