Medium-grade metapelites from the Torrox unit (Western Alpujarrides,Betic Cordilleras) provide an example of the phase relationshipsto be expected from extensional collapse of thickened crust.The rocks contain assemblages formed by combinations of St–Bt–GrtKySil–And,and are characterized by a marked state of textural and compositionaldisequilibrium that originated during post-peak, near-isothermaldecompression at moderately high temperatures (from >10 to2–3 kbar, at 550–650C). Major disequilibrium featuresinclude abundant reaction textures, metastable coexistence ofthe three aluminium silicate (Als) polymorphs, wide heterogeneitiesin the composition of phases within single samples and unsystematicor abnormal Mg-Fe partitioning among biolite, garnet and staurolite.Reaction relations and compositional trends of phases can beshown to be consistent with expectations from model systems,however, indicating that disequilibrium was a consequence ofreaction overstepping along the isothermal decompression path.Ensuing fast, near-isobaric cooling abruptly terminated metamorphism,and allowed for the preservation of disequilibrium featuresafter decompression. Given that the rocks decompressed at relativelyhigh temperature, the occurrence of reaction overstepping suggeststhat decompression proceeded at a very fast rate, consistentwith a bulk exhumation velocity in the range of 5–10 km/Ma,as estimated from available radio-metric data for this stage. K-feldspar megacrysts (Kfm) are used to investigate the magmaticevolution of the 7 Ma Monte Capanne (MC) monzogranite (Elba,Italy). Dissolution and regrowth of Kfm during magma mixingor mingling events produce indented resorption surfaces associatedwith high Ba contents. Diffusion calculations demonstrate thatKfm chemical zoning is primary. Core-to-rim variations in Ba,Rb, Sr, Li and P support magma mixing (i.e. high Ba and P andlow Rb/Sr at rims), but more complex variations require othermechanisms. In particular, we show that disequilibrium growth(related to variations in diffusion rates in the melt) may haveoccurred as a result of thermal disturbance following influxof mafic magma in the magma chamber. Initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios(ISr) (obtained by microdrilling) decrease from core to rim.Inner core analyses define a mixing trend extending towardsa high ISr–Rb/Sr melt component, whereas the outer coresand rims display a more restricted range of ISr, but a largerrange of Rb/Sr. Lower ISr at the rim of one megacryst suggestsmixing with high-K calc-alkaline mantle-derived volcanics ofsimilar age on Capraia. Trace element and isotopic profilessuggest (1) early megacryst growth in magmas contaminated bycrust and refreshed by high ISr silicic melts (as seen in theinner cores) and (2) later recharge with mafic magmas (as seenin the outer cores) followed by (3) crystal fractionation, withpossible interaction with hydrothermal fluids (as seen in therim). The model is compatible with the field occurrence of maficenclaves and xenoliths. Petrographical and geochemical characteristics of calc-alkalineandesites on Shodo-Shima Island, SW Japan, having bulk compositionslargely identical to the continental crust, are presented. Thefollowing petrographic observations suggest a role for magmamixing in producing such andesite magmas: (1) two types of olivinephenocrysts and spinel inclusions, one with compositions identicalto those in high-Mg andesites and the other identical to thosein basalts, are recognized in terms of Ni–Mg and Cr–Al–Fe3+relations, respectively; (2) the presence of orthopyroxene phenocrystswith mg-number >90 suggests the contribution of an orthopyroxene-bearinghigh-Mg andesite magma to production of calc-alkaline andesites;(3) reversely zoned pyroxene phenocrysts may not be in equilibriumwith Mg-rich olivine, suggesting the involvement of a differentiatedandesite magma as an endmember component; (4) the presence ofvery Fe-rich orthopyroxene phenocrysts indicates the associationof an orthopyroxene-bearing rhyolitic magma. Contributions fromthe above at least five endmember magmas to the calc-alkalineandesite genesis can also provide a reasonable explanation ofthe Pb–Sr–Nd isotope compositions of such andesites. 根据矿物结构可以有效的识别开放性体系内的各种岩浆过程,在岩相学研究基础上,对全新世喷发的Ruapehu火山 Whakapapa组安山岩内的辉石斑晶进行了系统的矿物学分析。所研究样品中辉石斑晶以普通辉石及顽火辉石为主,具多样 结构与形态,根据其结构和成分特征可分为3类:(1)骸晶状的辉石(SP型),具有破碎的、筛孔状外形,核部具有异常高 的FeOT含量,可能为壳源捕掳晶;(2)具均一结构及成分的辉石(HP型),其内部未显示明显的熔融结构,形成于岩浆房 的内部,基本未受基性岩浆混合的影响;(3)具核-幔-边结构的 “绿核”辉石(GCP型),其幔部相比核部及边部具有更 高的En、Mg#、CaO、MgO和Cr2O3含量以及更低的FeOT、TiO2含量。且GCP辉石边部相比核部更加富CaO、MgO而贫 FeOT、TiO2。GCP型辉石幔部(边部)与核部形成明显的反环带结构,两者界线清晰,成分上存在突变,是偏基性岩浆注 入岩浆房边界层时,岩浆发生大规模扩散、混合之前形成于脉状岩浆“通道”内;而GCP辉石边部则结晶于混合后的岩浆 之中。辉石的结构及岩相学特征暗示,安山岩在喷发前经历了岩浆混合及地壳物质的混染,混合过程主要发生于地壳浅部 岩浆房的边界层及粥状层内,且这种混合过程可能是诱发火山喷发的重要机制之一。  相似文献

Al2SiO5 reaction textures in aluminous schist and quartziteof the northern Picuris range, north-central New Mexico, recorda paragenetic sequence of kyanite to sillimanite to andalusite,consistent with a clockwise PT loop, with minor decompressionnear the Al2SiO5 triple-point. Peak metamorphic temperaturesare estimated at 510–525°C, at 4·0–4·2kbar. Kyanite and fibrolite are strongly deformed; some prismaticsillimanite, and all andalusite are relatively undeformed. Monaziteoccurs as inclusions within kyanite, mats of sillimanite andcentimetre-scale porphyroblasts of andalusite, and is typicallyaligned subparallel to the dominant regional foliation (S0/S1or S2) and extension lineation (L1). Back-scatter electron imagesand X-ray maps of monazite reveal distinct core, intermediateand rim compositional domains. Monazite–xenotime thermometryfrom the intermediate and rim domains yields temperatures of405–470°C (±50°C) and 500–520°C(±50°C), respectively, consistent with the progradeto peak metamorphic growth of monazite. In situ, ion microprobeanalyses from five monazites yield an upper intercept age of1417 ± 9 Ma. Near-concordant to concordant analyses yield207Pb–206Pb ages from 1434 ± 12 Ma (core) to 1390± 20 Ma (rim). We find no evidence of older regionalmetamorphism related to the 1650 Ma Mazatzal Orogeny. The ultrahigh-pressure eclogites from the northern Dabie Mountains in central China occurred as tectonic lens or blocks within granitic gneisses or meta-peridotites. Petrologic studies suggest that the studied eclogites experienced strongly retrogressive metamorphism and produced a series of characteristic retrogressive microstructures. The retrograde structures mainly include: (1) oriented needle mineral exsolution, e. g. , quartz needles in Na-clinopyroxene and rotile, clinopyroxene and apatite exsolution in garnet formed under decreasing pressure conditions during exhumation; (2) symplectite, especially, two generations of symplectites developed outside the garnet grains, which are called ““double symplectite““ here; (3) compositional zoning of minerals such as garnet and clinopyroxene; (4) minerals with a reaction rim or retrograde rim, e.g. , omphacite with a diopside rim, diopside with an amphibole rim and rutile with a rim of ilmenite. These retrograde textures, especially mineral zoning and symplectite, provide important petrologic evidence for the exhumation process and uplift of high-grade metamorphic rocks such as eclogite in the northern Dabie Mountains, indicating a rapid exhumation process.  相似文献

Serpentinites have the lowest silica activity of common crustalrocks. At the serpentinization front, where olivine, serpentine,and brucite are present, silica activities (relative to quartz)are of the order of 10–2·5 to 10–5, dependingon the temperature. Here we argue that this low silica activityis the critical property that produces the unusual geochemicalenvironments characteristic of serpentinization. The formationof magnetite is driven by the extraction of silica from theFe3Si2O5(OH)4 component of serpentine, producing extremely reducingconditions as evinced by the rare iron alloys that partiallyserpentinized peridotites contain. The incongruent dissolutionof diopside to form Ca2+, serpentine, and silica becomes increasinglyfavored at lower T, producing the alkalic fluids characteristicof serpentinites. The interaction of these fluids with adjacentrocks produces rodingites, and we argue that desilication isalso part of the rodingite-forming process. The low silica activityalso explains the occurrence of low-silica minerals such ashydrogrossular, andradite, jadeite, diaspore, and corundum inserpentinites or rocks adjacent to serpentinites. The tendencyfor silica activity to decrease with decreasing temperaturemeans that the presence of certain minerals in serpentinitescan be used as indicators of the temperature of serpentinization.These include, with decreasing temperature, diopside, andraditeand diaspore. Because the assemblage serpentine + brucite marksthe lowest silica activity reached in most serpentinites, thepresence and distribution of brucite, which commonly is a crypticphase in serpentinites, is critical to interpreting the processesthat lead to the hydration of any given serpentinite. Alkaline lamprophyre dykes from Taourirt (North Morocco) containnumerous xenoliths, ranging from alkaline pyroxenites, kaersutitites,gabbros and nepheline syenites to a calcite carbonatite. Thesilicate xenoliths and the host rocks consist of Al- and Ti-richdiopside–salite, mica or kaersutitite, ± nepheline,± plagioclase and K-feldspar, and ubiquitous apatite.Both the xenoliths and the lamprophyres are enriched in incompatibleelements. The chemical composition of the lamprophyres cannotbe accounted for by fractional crystallization alone. Moreover,the clinopyroxenes exhibit complex zoning, which requires repeatedmixing of pulses of more or less fractionated melts. The carbonatiteis a sövite cumulate with Sr-rich calcite, pyrochlore,fluorapatite, and rare salite. The Sr–Nd isotopic compositionsof the Taourirt rocks indicate a depleted mantle source, thecarbonatite having the most depleted composition, and definea linear trend similar to that of the East African carbonatites.The different rocks thus represent unrelated magmas, and thetrend is interpreted as mixing between two components with HIMUand EM1 mantle end-member signatures. An EM2 mantle componentcould also be involved for a few samples; it may correspondto hydrous metasomatized mantle of the PP–PKP (phlogopiteand phlogopite K-richterite peridotite) and MARID (mica, amphibole,rutile, ilmenite and diopside) type. The Neoproterozoic Aries kimberlite was emplaced in the centralKimberley Basin, Western Australia, as a N–NNE-trendingseries of three diatremes infilled by lithic-rich kimberlitebreccias. The breccias are intruded by hypabyssal macrocrysticphlogopite kimberlite dykes that exhibit differentiation toa minor, high-Na–Si, olivine–phlogopite–richteritekimberlite, and late-stage macrocrystic serpentine–diopsideultramafic dykes. Mineralogical and geochemical evidence suggeststhat the high-Na–Si, olivine–phlogopite–richteritekimberlite was derived from the macrocrystic phlogopite kimberliteas a residual liquid following extended phlogopite crystallizationand the assimilation of country rock sandstone, and that themacrocrystic serpentine–diopside ultramafic dykes formedas mafic cumulates from a macrocrystic phlogopite kimberlite.Chemical zonation of phlogopite–biotite phenocrysts indicatesa complex magmatic history for the Aries kimberlite, with theearly inheritance of a range of high-Ti phlogopite–biotitexenocrysts from metasomatized mantle lithologies, followed bythe crystallization of a population of high-Cr phlogopite phenocrystswithin the spinel facies lithospheric mantle. A further oneto two phlogopite–biotite overgrowth rims of distinctcomposition formed on the phlogopite phenocrysts at higher levelsduring ascent to the surface. Ultra-violet laser 40Ar/39Ar datingof mica grain rims yielded a kimberlite eruption age of 815·4± 4·3 Ma (95% confidence). 40Ar/39Ar laser profilingof one high-Ti phlogopite-biotite macrocryst revealed a radiogenic40Ar diffusive loss profile, from which a kimberlite magma ascentduration from the spinel facies lithospheric mantle was estimated(assuming an average kimberlite magma temperature of 1000°C),yielding a value of 0·23–2·32 days for thenorth extension lobe of the Aries kimberlite. Eclogite inclusions from kimberlitic diatremes on the Colorado Plateau contain intricately zoned garnet and pyroxene and unusual textures. Detailed electron microprobe traverses for a clinopyroxene-garnet-phengite-lawsonite-rutile assemblage show garnet zoning from Alm69Gr21Py10 (core) to Alm61Gr13Py26 (rim) and pyroxene zoning from Jd50 (core) through Jd77 to Jd55 (rim). Pyroxene cores are Cr-rich in another rock. Sharp compositional discontinuities and zoning reversals are preserved in garnet and pyroxene. Oscillatory zoning occurs in both phases on a 10–20 m scale, with variations of up to 6% Py in garnet and 15% Jd in pyroxene. Phengite is unzoned and contains 74% celadonite endmember.Skeletal, pyroxene-filled garnet crystals are common in some rocks, and garnets in other rocks clearly began growth as shell-like crystals. Some rocks contain domains of coarse, prismatic pyroxene with very fine-grained, interstitial magnesium silicates. The texture appears to have resulted from crystallization in the presence of a fluid phase, and water pressure is inferred to have equalled total pressure during crystallization. Eclogite formation at high water pressure may reflect subcrustal crystallization.An analysis of error propagation shows that ferrous iron calculations from electron probe data are not meaningful for these jadeitic pyroxenes, and temperature differences between core and rim crystallization cannot be documented. The garnet textures and oscillatory zoning are unusual for metamorphic rocks, and they suggest disequilibrium crystallization after overstepping of reaction boundaries. All data fit a model of eclogite formation during cooling and metasomatism of basaltic dikes intruded into a cool upper mantle, but the results here do not preclude other origins, such as subduction zone metamorphism.  相似文献

Palaeocene (c. 55–58 Ma) adakitic andesites from the Yanjiarea, NE China, are typically clinopyroxene-bearing sodic andesitescontaining 60· 9–62· 2% SiO2 and 4·02–4· 36% MgO, with high Mg-number [100 Mg/(Mg+ Fe) atomic ratio] from 65· 5 to 70· 1. Whole-rockgeochemical features include high Cr (128–161 ppm) andNi (86–117 ppm) concentrations, extremely high Sr (2013–2282ppm), low Y (10–11 ppm) and heavy rare earth elements(HREE; e.g. Yb = 0· 79–1· 01 ppm), and mid-oceanridge basalt (MORB)-like Sr–Nd–Pb isotopic compositions[e.g. 87Sr/ 86Sr(i) = 0· 70298–0· 70316,Nd(t) = +3· 8 to +6· 3 and 206Pb/ 204Pb = 17·98 – 18· 06], analogous to high-Mg adakites occurringin modern subduction zones. However, mineralogical evidencefrom clinopyroxene phenocrysts and microcrystalline plagioclaseclearly points to magma mixing during magma evolution. Iron-richclinopyroxene (augite) cores with low Sr, high Y and heavy REEcontents, slightly fractionated REE patterns and large negativeEu anomalies probably crystallized along with low-Ca plagioclasefrom a lower crustal felsic magma. In contrast, high Mg-numberclinopyroxene (diopside and endiopside) mantles and rims havehigher Sr and lower HREE and Y concentrations, highly fractionatedREE patterns (high La/Yb) and negligible Eu anomalies, similarto those found in adakites from subduction zones. The Yanjiadakitic andesites can be interpreted as a mixture between acrust-derived magma having low Mg-number and Sr, and high Yand HREE, and a mantle-derived high Mg-number adakite havinghigh Sr and low Y and HREE concentrations. During storage and/orascent, the mixed magma experienced further crustal contaminationto capture zircons, of a range of ages, from the wall rocks.The absence of coeval arc magmatism and an extensional tectonicregime in the Yanji area and surrounding regions suggest thatthese Palaeocene adakitic andesites were formed during post-subductionextension that followed the late Cretaceous Izanagi–Farallonridge subduction. Generation of these adakitic andesites doesnot require contemporaneous subduction of a young, hot oceanicridge or delamination of eclogitic lower crust as suggestedby previous models. High-pressure Partial Melting of Mafic Lithologies in the Mantle   总被引:17,自引:2,他引:15  
We review experimental phase equilibria associated with partialmelting of mafic lithologies (pyroxenites) at high pressuresto reveal systematic relationships between bulk compositionsof pyroxenite and their melting relations. An important aspectof pyroxenite phase equilibria is the existence of the garnet–pyroxenethermal divide, defined by the enstatite–Ca-Tschermakspyroxene–diopside plane in CaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2projections. This divide appears at pressures above 2 GPa inthe natural system where garnet and pyroxenes are the principalresidual phases in pyroxenites. Bulk compositions that resideon either side of the divide have distinct phase assemblagesfrom subsolidus to liquidus and produce distinct types of partialmelt ranging from strongly nepheline-normative to quartz-normativecompositions. Solidus and liquidus locations are little affectedby the location of natural pyroxenite compositions relativeto the thermal divide and are instead controlled chiefly bybulk alkali contents and Mg-numbers. Changes in phase volumesof residual minerals also influence partial melt compositions.If olivine is absent during partial melting, expansion of thephase volume of garnet relative to clinopyroxene with increasingpressure produces liquids with high Ca/Al and low MgO comparedwith garnet peridotite-derived partial melts. The Bixiling mafic-ultramafic metamorphic complex is a 1•5km2 tectonic block within biotite gneiss in the southern Dabieultrahigh-pressure terrane, central China. The complex consistsof banded eclogites that contain thin layers of garnet-bearingcumulate ultramafic rock. Except for common eclogitic phases(garnet, omphacite, kyanite, phengite, zoisite and rutilc),banded eclogites contain additional talc and abundant coesiteinclusions in omphacite, zoisite, kyanite and garnet. Some metaultramaficrocks contain magnesite and Ti-clinohumite. Both eclogites andmeta-ultramafic rocks have undergone multi-stage metamorphism.Eclogite facies metamorphisrn occurred at 610–700C andP>27 kbar, whereas amphibolite facies retrograde metamorphismis characterized by symplectites of plagioclase and hornblendeafter omphacite and replacement of tremolite after talc at P<6–15kbar and T <600C. The meta-ultramafic assemblages such asolivine + enstatite + diopside + garnet and Ti-clinohumite +diopside + enstatite + garnet + magnesite olivine formed at700–800C and 47–67 kbar. Investigation of the phaserelations for the system CaO-MgO-SiO2-H2O-CO2 and the experimentallydetermined stabilities of talc, magnesite and Ti-clinohumiteindicate that (1) UHP talc assemblages are restricted to Mg-Algabbro composition and cannot be an important water-bearingphase in the ultramafic mantle, and (2) Ti-clinohumite and magnesiteare stable H2O-bearing and CO2-bearing phases at depths >100km. The mafic-ultramafic cumulates were initially emplaced atcrustal levels, then subducted to great depths during the Triassiccollision of the Sine-Korean and Yangtze cratons. Pyroxenitic and peridotitic xenoliths from the Quaternary volcanicfield of Marsabit (northern Kenya) bear strong evidence of decompressionand cooling. Pyroxenites are mostly garnet (grt) websteritesand grt clinopyroxcnites with some olivine (ol) and amphibole(amph). Grt is mostly rimmed by kelyphitic reaction zones butotherwise appears to have been in stable association with thepyroxenes. Along contacts between grt and rare ol, medium-grainedsymplectites consisting of orthopyroxene (opx), clinopyroxene(cpx), and spinel (spl) occur. Garnets do show significant compositionalvariations from core to rim. Primary pyroxenes are strained,have exsolution lamellae, and are chemically zoned. Integratedcore compositions of pyroxenes and grt compositions yield temperaturesof 1065–950 C and pressures of 28–23 kb (stage1). Pyroxene rims in contact with grt or kelyphite show Ca concentrationssimilar to, but Al concentrations higher than pyroxene rimsremote from garnet. Grt-opx contacts yield pressures of 11.5–9.0kb, and temperatures of 860–770C are obtained from pyroxenerims (stage 2). Peridotites from Marsabit show various stages of transformationfrom the garnet peridotite to the spinel peridotite stabilityfield. On the basis of differences in textures and mineral compositionsthey can be grouped into four types. Type I has a granular textureand contains fine-grained opx-cpx-spl symplectites frequentlysurrounding kelyphite which, in turn, may enclose relict grt.Rare matrix spl has higher Cr/(Cr + Al) ratios (0.25–0.32)than symplectitic spl (0.09). As in grt pyroxenites, matrixpyroxenes are strained, show exsolution lamellae, and have rimcompositions which are dependent on their positions relativeto former garnet. Integrated core compositions of matrix pyroxenessuggest former equilibration temperatures between 1050 and 880Cand pressures between 25 and 19 kb (opx—grt barometryusing composition of relict grt; stage 1). Pyroxene rims yieldsignificantly lower temperatures of 920–785 C (stage2). These P—T estimates and the occurrence of one compositexenolith consisting of type I peridotite and grt pyroxenitepoint to a common P—Tevolution of both grt pyroxenitesand type I peridotites. Granular type II peridotites are characterizedby medium-grained clusters of opx + cpx + spl amph and containmatrix spl, too. Pyroxenes are never strained and are free ofexsolution lamellae. All minerals are homogeneous and thereare no compositional differences between pyroxenes and spinelsof the matrix and those of the spl—opx—cpx clusters.Cr/(Cr+Al) ratios of spl are between 0–07 and 0.11. Two-pyroxenetemperatures are relatively uniform (970–925 C at anassumed pressure of 12 kb; stage 2). Type III peridotites arecoarse-grained granular spl peridotites without any indicationof the former presence of grt. Cr/(Cr + Al) ratios of spl aresimilar to those of peridotite type II. Pyroxenes show minorchemical zoning with Ca increasing in opx but decreasing incpx from core to rim indicating temperatures of 960–900C for pyroxene cores and of up to 1000C  相似文献

An early Archaean (>3·81 Ga) chromitite–ultramaficlayered body from the Ujaragssuit nunât area, west Greenland,may represent the Earth’s oldest chromitite. The layeredbody occurs as a large xenolith (800 m x 100 m) entrained withintonalitic gneisses and preserves primary igneous layering andtextures. New Re–Os and Pb–Pb isotope results supportthe view that it has been metamorphosed twice, in the earlyand late Archaean at 3·75 Ga and 2·8 Ga. Mineralchemistry and textures indicate that the chromite compositionspreserve two different evolutionary trends. There is a mainmagmatic trend in which Cr/(Cr + Al) ratios remain relativelyconstant but in which there is strong enrichment in Fe3+, Fe2+and Ti with progressive differentiation. This trend is a compositeof magmatic-liquidus, magmatic-cooling and subsolidus re-equilibrationprocesses. A second trend is defined by chromites from harzburgitesin the upper part of the layered body. These chromites showmagmatic replacement textures in which Fe-rich chromites arealtered to aluminous chromites. Chromites showing magmatic replacementtextures are thought to have formed by reaction with a late,interstitial melt during the solidification of the layered body.The close association between the Fe3+–Cr-chromites ofthe main trend and Al-rich chromites of the type found in otherArchaean megacrystic anorthosites suggest a magmatic-geneticrelationship between the two types of chromite. We propose thatanorthositic chromites form in an Fe-rich basaltic melt derivedfrom a komatiitic, boninitic or basaltic parent magma throughreaction between the melt and early-formed Fe-rich chromite. The processes operating in the development of chemical zonationin silicic magma chambers have been addressed with a Sr–Nd–Pb–Hf–Thisotope study of the chemically zoned trachyte pumice depositof the Fogo A eruption, Fogo volcano, Azores. Sr isotopic variationis observed in whole rocks, glass separates and sanidine phenocrysts(whole-rock 87Sr/86Sr: 0·7049–0·7061; glass87Sr/86Sr: 0·7048–0·7052; sanidine 87Sr/86Sr:0·7048–0·7062). Thorium isotopic variationis observed in glass separates, with (230Th/232Th)o rangingfrom 0·8737 to 0·8841, and exhibiting a negativecorrelation with Sr isotopes. The Nd, Pb and Hf isotopic compositionsof the whole-rock trachytic pumices are invariant and indistinguishablefrom basalts flanking the volcano. The Sr isotope variationsin the whole rocks are proposed to be the result of three distinctprocesses: contamination of the Fogo A magma by assimilationof radiogenic seawater-altered syenite wall rock, to explainthe Sr and Th isotopic compositions of the glass separates;incorporation of xenocrysts into the trachytic magma, requiredto explain the range in feldspar Sr isotopic compositions; andpost-eruptive surface alteration. This study emphasizes theimportance of determining the isotopic composition of glassand mineral separates rather than whole rocks when pre-eruptivemagmatic processes are being investigated. 九瑞矿集区隶属于长江中下游铜-铁-金成矿带,该矿集区内主要发育有武山、城门山、洋鸡山、丁家山等大中型铜金多金属矿床。区内的南港成矿远景预测区位于横立山-黄桥向斜的南翼,地质条件与该向斜北翼的武山铜矿基本一致。本文以南港地区发现的煌斑岩为研究对象,对其中的辉石进行了详细的岩相学和电子探针成分分析工作,来探讨煌斑岩的演化过程及岩石成因。测试结果显示,南港煌斑岩中的辉石,具有高Ca、高Mg,低Ti,贫Al、贫Fe的特点。斑晶中的辉石属于透辉石和普通辉石,基质中的辉石则属于普通辉石。辉石斑晶的viAl和Na2O含量很低,指示其形成压力较小。由早到晚从斑晶到基质,辉石向着富铁富钙的方向演化。辉石发育有反环带及韵律环带,显示在岩浆房中可能受到过岩浆混合作用的影响。辉石的矿物化学特征指示南港煌斑岩属碱性岩石系列。  相似文献

Layers of Ca-rich garnet–clinopyroxene rocks enclosedin a serpentinite body at Hujialin, in the Su–Lu terraneof eastern China, preserve igneous textures, relict spinel ingarnet, and exsolution lamellae of Ca-rich garnet, ilmenite/magnetite,Fe-rich spinel, and also amphibole in clinopyroxene. In termsof their major and trace element compositions, the studied samplesform a trend from arc cumulates towards Fe–Ti gabbros.Reconstructed augite compositions plot on the trend for clinopyroxenein arc cumulates. These data suggest that the rocks crystallizedfrom mantle-derived magmas differentiated to various extentsbeneath an arc. The Ca-rich garnet + diopside assemblage isinferred to have formed by compressing Ca-rich augite, whereasthe relatively Mg-rich cores of garnet porphyroblasts may haveformed at the expense of spinel. The protolith cumulates weresubducted from near the crust–mantle boundary (c. 1 GPa)deep into the upper mantle (4·8 ± 0·6 GPaand 750 ± 50°C). Negatively sloped P–T pathsfor the garnet–clinopyroxene rocks and the corollary ofcorner flow induced subduction of mantle wedge peridotite arenot supported by the available data. Cooling with, or without,decompression of the cumulates after the igneous stage probablyoccurred prior to deep subduction. Crystalline basement exposed in tectonic windows within theUngava Orogen records a polycyclic Archean granulite-faciesto Paleoproterozoic amphibolite-facies history. Amphibolite-faciesassemblages comprise garnet coronas around plagioclase, clinopyroxeneor cummingtonite coronas on orthopyroxene, hornblende coronason clinopyroxeneorthopyroxene, sodic rims on calcic plagioclase,and/or titanite coronas on ilmenite. Petrographic observationsand model reactions suggest that growth of coronitic garnetis closely associated with amphibolitization of twopyroxenegneisses. Calcic plagioclase constitutes a key reactant in allgarnet-producing reactions and possibly acted as a rate-controllingphase. Multi-equilibrium thermobarometric calculations showgood convergence of possible equilibria in the amphibolite-faciesrocks, indicating that coronitic textures need not imply completechemical disequilibrium. P—T determinations for the amphibolite-faciesgneisses beneath the thrust belt of Ungava Orogen are in therange 7.7–9.8 kbar and 585–723C. These values areconsistent with prograde determinations from pelitic schistswithin the thrust belt. Estimates of water activity clusterinto two populations. High aH2O values are obtained for highlystrained basement rocks adjacent to the thrust belt whereaslow aH2O values are derived for orthogneiss samples which showno thrust-related fabrics and are distal to the thrust belt. The 1995–1999 eruption of the Soufriere Hills volcano,Montserrat, has produced a crystal-rich andesite containingquench-textured mafic inclusions, which show evidence of havingbeen molten when incorporated into the host magma. Individualcrystals in the andesite record diverse histories. Amphibolephenocrysts vary from pristine and unaltered to strongly oxidizedand pseudomorphed by anhydrous reaction products. Plagioclasephenocrysts are commonly reverse zoned, often with dusty sievetextures. Reverse zoned rims are also common on orthopyroxenephenocrysts. Pyroxene geothermometry gives an average temperatureof 858 ± 20°C for orthopyroxene phenocryst cores,whereas reverse zoned rims record temperatures from about 880to 1050°C. The heterogeneity in mineral rim compositions,zoning patterns and textures is interpreted as reflecting non-uniformreheating and remobilization of the resident magma body by intrusionof hotter mafic magma. Convective remobilization results inmixing together of phenocrysts that have experienced differentthermal histories, depending on proximity to the intruding maficmagma. The low temperature and high crystallinity are interpretedas reflecting the presence of a cool, highly crystalline magmabody beneath the Soufriere Hills volcano. The petrological observations,in combination with data on seismicity, extrusion rate and SO2fluxes, indicate that the current eruption was triggered byrecent influx of hot mafic magma.
