The nonlinear governing equations and its solutions for the tropical atmospheric planetary boundary layer are derived by means of scale analysis and vertical coordinate transformation. It is shown that the nonlinear momentum advection may alter the critical latitude. The restrictive requirement for the solutions to have continuity both in the free atmosphere and in the planetary boundary layer is derived. The context provides theoretical basis for numerical calculation of the wind field within the tropic atmospheric planetary boundary layer.  相似文献

In this overall survey of the seagrasses of China 15 species are listed, eight of which are recorded for the first time. The Potamogetonaceae (subfamilies Zosteroideae and Cymodoceoideae) are represented by 10 species, and the Hydrocharitaceae (subfamilies Vallisnerioideae, Thalassioideae and Halophiloideae)by 5 species. Halophila ovalis (R.Br.) Hook, f. is represented by 2 subspecies. A key to the species based on vegetative and generative characteristics is presented.  相似文献

Various aspects of studies on internal tides are reviewed .Both beam-like structure and modal structure of internal tides may exist in the ocean . Bottom intensifications are caused by many factors .e.g. upstream blocking , which is the result of nonlinear interaction among waves . The energy may decay very fast so that internal tides are mostly locally generated .Internal tides may have considerable residual currents.In a 3-D frame, numerical study revealed that internal waves may interfere with each other to cause strong motions fer from the generation sources.The mechanism that determines how the lee waves break to form various nonlinear waves such as solitary waves, hydraulic jumps and internal surges or bores remains unclear. Analytic study is difficult , so numerical method may be effective . A radiation condition on the open boundary must be employed. A complete 3-D model may gain interesting result.Study on internal tides in China is limited to field observations and data analysis .  相似文献

The liquid state, especially water, has long been regarded as the most formidable problem in the field of statistical mechanics. The coefficient of viscosity of water is calculated using a simplified model based on the microstructure of water and methods similar to that used by Rice et al. (1961) who studied the non-equilibrium statistical mechanics of simple liquids, such as liquid argon. derived From the Liouville equation. This work's singlet and doublet equations are somewhat different From those derived by Rice et al. (1961) and solutions were obtained by the perturbation method. This article reports studies on the coagulation of kaolin(from Wuxian,Jiangsu,China)on various red tide organisms,and the observation for the first time that the coagulation of kaolin is much greaterthan that of montmorillonite so that kaolin is a more effective clay for removing red tide organisms.The authors’theoretical explanation and analysis by a mathematical-physical model prove that comparedto montmorillonite,kaolin has greater attraction for organism cells and therefore greater coagulation capabil-ity.This project’s studies on the effects of pH and acid-treatment show that the acid-treatment does not have much influence on the kaolin system;whereas the effect of pH on the kaolin system is the same asthat on the montmonrillonite system.  相似文献

A nonlinear evolution equation of 2 - D short internal waves under condition of weak stratification-cubic Schrodinger equation- is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. Because aB<0 in the Schrodinger equation, in the linear system the sideband perturbation for the harmonic wave modulation is neutrally stable. At the same time, there is also a sort of wave pack -et-KdV envelope soliton. In the nonlinear system the dark soliton is obtained under condition of weak stratification. It is shown that the vertical perturbation of the Brunt-Vaisala frequency plays a role in forming the KdV envelope soliton and dark soliton.  相似文献

A statistical distribution of the maxima of a random function in two space variables is suggested to fit with stereo observations of the sea surface. The presented distribution is a complicated mix of Gaussian, Rayleighian and Maxwellian distributions and determined by three parameters of the directional spectrum, According to the changes of the three parameters it may approach the above three distributions respectively in special cases so that it has more probability of fitting stereo data better In addition, the fact that these parameters can be directly estimated from observed data is briefly in the paper.  相似文献

Nearshore sea levels in the East China Sea(ECS) and the South China Sea(SCS) during tropical cyclones-Typhoon 8007(Joe, 1980) and Typhoon 7209(Betty 1972) were simulated. The tide-surge interactions in the two regions are remarkable and locally produced. The corresponding nonlinear effects were derived from the different nonlinear terms. The contribution of the quadratic friction term is the most important, the shallow term comes second the convective term is the least; the phases of the interactions generated by the various nonlinear terms are asynchronous. Both the quadratic friction and the convective term can stimulate and aggravate the surge structure with more peaks. The bottom friction features have crucial influences on tides and surges, and the interaction is sensitive to the changes of tide and surge.  相似文献

This paper deals with the seasonal changes of the tidal flat along the north bank of Hangzhou Bay. Analysis of a one year set of weekly measured tidal flat profiles from Jinhuigang to Caojing shows that the tidal flat on the north bank of Hangzhou Bay accretes during winter and erodes during summer. To identify the characteristic patterns of the tidal flat spatio-temporal variations, Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) is applied on the tidal flat profile data. The results show that most of the variations of the tidal flat profiles can be represented by three eigenfunctions corresponding to the three largest eigenvalues. The first eigenfunction represents the long-term variation of the tidal flat over a year, the second eigenfunction represents the seasonal changes of the tidal flat resulting from the seasonal variations in wave regime, the third eigenfunction indicates sediment exchanges between different parts of the tidal flat associated with the variations of sea level.  相似文献

The wind waves generated by cold waves are some of the most dangerous waves in Bohai Bay. In this paper records of the wind waves under the influence of cold waves in November, 1968, are discussed. It is shown that the north wind is very strong in spring and winter. The frequency spectrum of the development and decline of wind waves depends mainly on the wind speed. The change of shape and scale parameters of the spectrum are discussed and the calculation equations are shown.  相似文献

The numerical study of the geostrophic and friclional adjustment of the effluent flow of the Huanghe River is reported in this paper. The depth profiles of the cross sections near the estuary were obtained from data compiled by the Committee on the Conservancy of the Huanghe River. It was found that the depth profile fitted a logarithmic curve very well. The governing equation of the geostrophic and frictional adjustment waa obtained from the .quasigeostrophic potential vorticity equation with friction and topography terms.. The governing equation waa solved numerically by Liebmann's iterative method by applying appropriate boundary conditions. The calculated flow pattern agreed with the observations.  相似文献

Our study on the horizontal and vertical distribution , change pattern , and migration form origin of iron and manganese and the factors affecting them in surface sediment in the western Mid-Pacific and in columnar sediment of station L 2032 is introduced . The author inferred the lysocline and compensation depth of the ocean by using the content changes of Fe and Mn ;differentiated rapidly sedimentation types by using the difference of Fe and Mn contents , estimated tentatively their contents in different sediments by using the dyeability of Fe and Mn . The author notes that the economically valuable Fe-Mn nodules can be formed during Fe-Mn deposition in the ocean and that in studies on Fe and Mn deposition , the affecting factors should be analyzed comprehensively .  相似文献

To make surface seawater flow, the shear stress of the wind blowing on the sea must overcome the work of cohesion of seawater Wc.Oil film on the sea will drift along the wind direction so long as the shear stress of the wind overcomes the work of adhesion between the water and the oil Wa or the work of cohesion of oil Wt,o.Experiments bear out the theory that surface tension of seawater is more than twice that of oils generally, so that the wind influenced drift velocity of the oil film is over two times that of the wind-driven surface current. The wind factor for surface current in Jiaozhou Bay is 0.025, while those for the drift velocities of O-diesel oil film and the used light crude oil film are 0.070 and 0.052 respectively.Generally the primary factors influencing the movement velocity of oil film on the sea are current, wind, and the physicochemical properties of the oil. An analytical study is made on the formation of the Cold Water Mass of the Yellow Sea (CWYS) and the relevant thermally driven circulation. The temperature and velocity field, obtained by solving the coupled equations of motion and heat conduction, show that, in summer, the CWYS has a horizontal cyclonic circulation (component) with vertical upwelling in the middle and downwelling at the edges, that the vertical convection (u-w components) occurs only within a thin layer near the thermocline. and that the deeper layer remains almost motionless. This current structure represents well the mechanisms responsible for the maintenance of the thermocline or CWYS during the wanner months. Comparisons between the theoretical and observed temperatures show very good qualitative and quantitative agreements for corresponding seasons.  相似文献

The nonwind-driven mechanism of the winter circulation in the northern South China Sea is discussed.Linked by the Bashi Strait to the Pacific Ocean, the northern South Cnina Sea is treated as a part of the Pacific western boundary where the circulation variation (except the very thin surface layer) is closely related to that of the ocean interior and the effect of local wind might be neglected (at least for some seasons).Based on the assumption that the thick and strong westward current which flows in through the Bashi Strait can effectively prevent water exchange between the northern and southern South China Seas, the model sea only includes the northern part. Barotropic numerical experiments show that part of this westward current is deflected by the continental slope and forms the slope area NE current--the South China Sea Warm Current. This paper reports on our research on the gravity data around the Ryukyu T-A-BA system, and presents the results obtained and the calculation methods, such as, Moho calculation, spectrum analysis, smooth filtering, analytic extension, horizontal derivation, correlative analysis, etc. used in this study. In contrast to the information obtained from seismic profiles, the analyses show that oceanic and continental crusts demarcated by the Ryukyu T-A-BA system are very different in gravitational and tectonic characteristics. The structures in the T-A-BA region are very complicated and linearity of the gravity field and structure is very obvious. The Okinawa Trough with its two groups of fault structures in their respective NW and NNE strikes is an active neo-spreading back are basin whose development and evolution is greatly influenced by faulting.  相似文献

The effects of tides, wind and river discharges on the flow patterns in Bohai Sea are investigated. The Finite Element Method is used to cast the vertically integrated, long wave equations into a system of nonlinear ordinary equations in time. For simplicity we adopted linear triangular elements which are easily integrated exactly and lead to matrices of relatively small bandwidth. The system of ordinary differential equations is solved using a simple finite difference scheme.Because of the small contribution from three partial tides S2, K1 and O1, we take only the M2 tide into account. In this study the computations show Liaodong Bay in the north to be the locale of both the maximum flood and ebb strengths; tidal currents in Laizhou Bay in the south are of less importance in the tidal circulation of Bohai Sea. The discharges of four major rivers and wind speed of 7.0 m/s blowing from the north are used for examining the change in the M2 tidal current field. Jiaozhou Bay data collected from May 1991 to February 1994, in 12 seasonal investigations, and provided the authors by the Ecological Station of Jiaozhou Bay, were analyzed to determine the spatiotemporal variations in temperature, light, nutrients (NO3^--N, NO2^--N, NH4^ -N, SIO3^2--Si, PO4^3--P), phytoplankton, and primary production in Jiaozhou Bay. The results indicated that only silicate correlated well in time and space with, and had important effects on, the characteristics, dynamic cycles and trends of, primary production in Jiaozhou Bay. The authors developed a corresponding dynamic model of primary production and silicate and water temperature. Eq. ( 1 ) of the model shows that the primary production variation is controlled by the nutrient Si and affected by water temperature; that the main factor controlling the primary production is Si; that water temperature affects the composition of the structure of phytoplankton assemblage; that the different populations of the phytoplankton assemblage occupy different ecological niches for C, the apparent ratio of conversion of silicate in seawater into phytoplankton biomas and D, the coefficient of water temperature‘s effect on phytoplankton biomass. The authors researched the silicon source of Jiaozhou Bay, the biogeochemical sediment process of the silicon, the phytoplankton predominant species and the phytoplankton structure. The authors considered silicate a limiting factor of primary production in Jiaozhou Bay, whose decreasing concentration of silicate from terrestrial source is supposedly due to dilution by current and uptake by phytoplankton; quantified the silicate assimilated by phytoplankton, the intrinsic ratio of conversion of silicon into phytoplankton biomass, the proportion of silicate uptaken by phytoplankton and diluted by current; and found that the primary production of the phytoplankton is determined by the quantity of the silicate assimilated by them. The phenomenon of apparently high plant-nutrient concentTations but low phytoplankton biomass in some waters is reasonably explained in this paper.  相似文献

Analysis of material from three 55- cm long cores collected with box corer m summer of 1988 in the Changjiang Estuary region yielded data on the sedimentation rate, granulometric composition and contents of carbonates, organic matter, Al, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and Pb there. Subsequent study of the data led to the conclusion that there is no obvious pollution in the region based on the absolute value of the content of heavy metals, but the region is in potential danger of being polluted as seen by the obvious increase of sedimentation flux of heavy metals to and the enrichment of them on the surface sediment during the last several years, e.g. Pb increased by 10-20μg/g, Zn by about 30μg/g, Cu by 5-10μg/g and Mn by 150μg/g.A ferromanganese redox interface was found at about 40 cm depth of sediments where Fe and Mn and associated trace metals are enriched.
