According to loess and palaeosol climatic record, field observation, analysis data and 14C dating, we discuss the climatic changes and the water level fluctuations of Qinghai Lake. It is pointed out that there were four relatively warm and moist stages in Qinghai Lake basin during the Holocene. They formed in the periods from 10,300 yr.B.P. to 8,500 yr.B.P., 7,000 yr.B.P. to 3,500 yr.B.P., 2,800 yr.B.P. to 2,000 yr.B.P. and from 1,300 yr.B.P. up to now. The climate in the Holocene optimum period, from 7,000 yr.B.P. to 3,500 yr.B.P., was much warmer and moister than that today. Polypodium plant grew luxuriantly around Qinghai Lake. The annual temperature was 2.5℃ higher than that today, but there was no forest at Qinghai Lake shore. It is found that there was a good relationship between precipitation and water level fluctuation. In warm and moist period water level was high and in the cold and dry period it was low in the Holocene. There were four high water level periods for Qinghai Lake in the Holocen  相似文献

The sea fluxes of trace metals, POC, and settled material were studied in anoxic sea water, Saanich Inlet, B.C., Canada with sediment traps. This paper discusses the change of mass fluxes of sediment, trace metals and POC for various seasons and depths. The annual mean of settled material is 1.56 g.m-2 .a-1, 84.6 mg. m-2. a-1 for POC, 60.0 mg.m-2. a-1 for Cu, 16.5 mg.m-2.a-1 for Pb, 189 mg.m-2. a-1 for Zn, 2.20mg.m-2.a-1 for Cd,699 mg.m-2.a-1 for Fe,38.8 mg.m-2.-1 for Co, and 84.6 mg.m-2.a-1 for Ni.The relations between the average fluxes of trace metals and POC, the fluxes of trace metals and settled matter, and the sea fluxes of trace metals and Fe are in linear progression. The resident times of elements as calculated from sea flux, are 1.1 a. for Cu, 0.014 a. for Pb, 0.50 a. for Zn, 3.8 a. for Cd, 0.16 a. for Fe, 0.39 a. for Co,and 1.14 a. for Ni.The order of resident times is as follows: Pb-Fe-Co-Zn-Cu-Ni-Cd. A new species of bubblegum coral,Paragorgia rubra sp.nov.,discovered from a seamount at a water depth of 373 m near the Yap Trench is studied using morphological and molecular approaches.Paragorgia rubra sp.nov.is the fourth species of the genus found in the tropical Western Pacific.The new gorgonian is red-colored,uniplanar,and measures approximately 530 mm high and 440 mm wide,with autozooids distributed only on one side of the colony.Paragorgia rubra sp.nov.is most similar to P.kaupeka Sánchez,2005,but differs distinctly in the polyp ovals with large and compound protuberances(vs.small and simple conical protuberances) and the medullar spindles possessing simple conical protuberances(vs.compound protuberances).Moreover,P.rubra sp.nov.differs from P.kaupeka in the smaller length/width ratio of surface radiates(1.53 vs.1.75).The genetic distance of the mtMutS gene between P.rubra sp.nov.and P.kaupeka is 0.66%,while the intraspecific distances within Paragorgia Milne-Edwards Haime,1857 except the species P.regalis complex are no more than 0.5%,further supporting the establishment of the new species.Furthermore,the ITS2 secondary structure of P.rubra sp.nov.is also different from those of congeners.Phylogenetic analyses indicate Paragorgia rubra sp.nov.and P.kaupeka form a clade,which branched early within Paragorgia and diversified approximately 15 Mya.  相似文献

Karenia mikimotoi (Miyake & Kominami ex Oda) Hansen & Moestrup is associated with harmful algal blooms in temperate and subtropical zones of the world. The hemolytic substances produced by K. mikimotoi are thought to cause mortality in fishes and invertebrates. We evaluated the composition of the hemolytic toxin produced by K. mikimotoi cultured in the laboratory using thin-layer chromatography.In addition, we evaluated the effect of co-occuring algae (Prorocentrum donghaiense and Alexandrium tamarense) and the cladoceran grazer Moina mongolica on hemolytic toxin production in K. mikimotoi. The hemolytic toxins from K. mikimotoi were a mixture of 2 liposaccharides and 1 lipid. Waterborne clues from P. donghaiense and A. tamarense inhibited the growth of K. mikimotoi but increased the production of hemolytic toxins. Conversely, K. mikimotoi strongly inhibited the growth of caged P. donghaiense and A. tamarense. In addition, the ingestion of K. mikimotoi by M. mongolica induced the production of hemolytic toxins in K. mikimotoi. Taken together, our results suggest that the presence of other microalgae and grazers may be as important as environmental factors for controlling the production of hemolytic substances. K. mikimotoi secreted allelochemicals other than unstable fatty acids with hemolytic activity. The production of hemolytic toxins in dinoflagellates was not only dependent on resource availability, but also on the risk of predation. Hemolytic toxins likely play an important role as chemical deterrents secreted by K. mikimotoi.  相似文献

The nuclear-encoded small subunit ribosomal RNA gene (18S rDNA) of 16 isolates of Chondrus from 8 countries were sequenced. A total of 1796 nucleotides were obtained and aligned with the phylogenetic analysis conducted. The results suggest that the entity from Dalian, China, regarded as C. sp1 is C. pinnulatus. The C. sp2 previously depicted as C. yendoi or Mazzaella japonica may belong to genus Chondrus. So, 4 Chondrus species, i.e. C. ocellatus, C. nipponicus, C. armatus, and C. pinnulatus are distributed in China. However, the entity from Connemara, Ireland, named C. crispus, is not a Chondrus species but that of Mastocarpus stellatus, although it is morphologically similar to C. crispus. Phylogenetic analysis based on complete 18S rDNA sequence data shows that genus Chondrus includes 3 main lineages: the Northern Pacific lineage, containing C. ocellatus, C. yendoi, and C. nipponicus; C. armatus, and C. pinnulatus form the sub-North Pacific lineage; and the Northern Atlantic Ocean lineage, comprising samples of C. crispus from Canada, Portugal, Ireland, Germany and France. The phylogenetic relationships indicate that genus Chondrus might have a North Pacific ancestral origin, radiated to North Atlantic area, and then formed the species C. crispus.  相似文献
