We present our 2-year-long photometric (V, R c, I c) observations of the T Tauri star V1184 Tau. They show that the relatively quiet “photometric life” of this object, which ended in 2004 with a sharp brightness decline by four magnitudes, was succeeded by a qualitatively new (in nature) period of activity characterized by high-amplitude irregular photometric variability. Judging by its color variations, the object belongs to the class of UX Ori stars and, hence, variable circumstellar extinction is responsible for its brightness variations. Moreover, the (V?I c)/V color-magnitude diagram for the object is identical to that for UX Ori itself, suggesting that the optical properties of dust grains in the circumstellar space of these stars are similar. At the same time, V1184 Tau is quite dissimilar to UX Ori stars in its light curve, variability amplitude (reaching 4.5 magnitudes in the V band), and some other parameters.  相似文献

We present the results of our photometric (V RI) and spectroscopic observations of the young variable star V730 Cep (MisV1147) classified by Uemura et al. (2004) as a Herbig Be star. Our photometry confirms the conclusion of the above authors that this star has a complex pattern of variability including periodic or quasi-periodic brightness variations with a period of about 14 days and deep Algol-like minima typical for UX Ori stars. Our spectroscopy shows that the classification of V730 Cep as a Herbig Be star is wrong. Actually, this star has a much lower temperature and belongs to the family of T Tauri stars. This allows us to explain the nature of the unusual photometric activity of V730 Cep based on a combination of two well-known models of variable circumstellar extinction applied to young stars: AA Tau- and UX Oritype variability. It follows from our observations that the color tracks on the V ?(V ?I) color–magnitude diagram for these models slightly differ: the AA Tau-type variability of circumstellar extinction is caused by larger grains than the UX Ori-type variability. Such a difference can be due to an increase in the characteristic sizes of circumstellar dust as the star is approached and has a simple explanation: small dust grains evaporate faster than large ones.  相似文献

Radical readjustments in the photometric activity of young stars owing to sudden changes in the circumstellar extinction are discussed using the light curves of two UX Ori type stars, CQ Tau and V1184 Tau, as examples. Changes of this sort can be caused by large deviations from axial symmetry in the distribution of circumstellar dust, as well as by large variations in the mass accretion rate in circumstellar disks. Studies of the Herbig Ae/Be star V586 Ori based on photoelectric observations in the Strömgren system are reported. It is found that as the brightness decreases, the Balmer discontinuity index initially increases and then begins to drop. As the star fades, the index decreases. We have previously found similar variations in the indices and C for UX Ori, RR Tau, and V351 Ori. It is shown that V586 Ori has the characteristics of a shell-star.  相似文献

An historical light curve for the UX Ori star CQ Tau is constructed for the period from 1939 through 2003. The star’s photometric behavior includes a cyclical component with a period of about 21 years. An analysis of the periodogram reveals a shorter cycle with a duration of about 1020 days after this cycle is subtracted. Since the photometric activity of UX Ori type stars is caused by variations in the circumstellar extinction, both of these cycles indicate the existence of large-scale deviations from axial symmetry in the distribution of matter in the circumstellar disk of CQ Tau. The orbiting of these inhomogeneities about the star also causes oscillatory variations in its brightness. An analysis of the color-magnitude diagrams reveals differences in the optical parameters of the circumstellar dust along the line of sight in various phases of the 21-year cycle: absorption by larger particles predominates near the brightness maximum of CQ Tau. This means that the reduced circumstellar extinction in this part of the circumstellar disk is the result of a smaller contribution from small particles; this may be evidence of the onset of a process of coagulation of the dust particles and their conversion into large-scale bodies and planetesimals.__________Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 48, No. 2, pp. 165–174 (May 2005).  相似文献

The wind interaction with the dusty environment of the classical T Tauri star RY Tau has been investigated. During two seasons from 2013 to 2015, we carried out a spectroscopicmonitoring of this star with simultaneous BV R photometry. A correlation between the stellar brightness and the radial velocity of the wind determined from the Hα and Na D line profiles has been found. The irregular stellar brightness variations are shown to be caused by extinction in a dusty disk wind at a distance of about 0.2 AU from the star. We hypothesize that the circumstellar extinction variations result from a cyclic rearrangement of the magnetosphere and coronal mass ejections, which affect the dusty disk wind near the inner boundary of the circumstellar disk.  相似文献

We have analyzed the Hubble Space Telescope spectrum of the young star FU Ori in the range 2300–3100 Å. The long-wavelength part of the spectrum is similar to the spectrum of a supergiant with T eff ? 5000–6000 K, but the range of wavelengths shorter than ?2600 Å is dominated by radiation from a region with T eff ? 9000 K. We discuss the possibility of explaining these peculiarities of the spectrum, the Al II] 2669.2 emission line profile, and the results of X-ray observations for FU Ori in terms of an accretion disk model whose thickness increases as the star is approached starting from distances ?1012 cm. Near the star, the disk has the shape of a cone in which only the part of its surface on the far (from the observer) side is visible. The suggested model is a kind of a compromise between the models of a thin α-disk and a supergiant: basically, this is an accretion model, but it resembles a supergiant in observational manifestations. Numerous absorption lines originating in the disk wind are superimposed on the disk spectrum. The wind is a cold (T ? 5000 K), dense (N e ? 1011 cm?3) gas. The number of wind absorption lines in the ultraviolet spectrum of FU Ori increases with decreasing wavelength. This causes a rapid decline in intensity in the short-wavelength part of the spectrum. As a result, the maximum temperature in the disk estimated from low-resolution IUE spectra has been underestimated.  相似文献

We present and discuss the results of our long-term JHKLM photometry for two RV Tau stars (R Sge and RV Tau) and the yellow supergiant V1027 Cyg, a candidate for protoplanetary nebulae. The amplitude of the infrared brightness variations in R Sge and RV Tau over fourteen years of observations was 0 . m 9?1 m ; the infrared brightness variations in V1027 Cyg over eighteen years did not exceed 0 . m 25. The infrared brightness and color of R Sge fluctuated about their gradually changing mean values; the infrared brightness variations agree with a period of 70.77 days. The periodic J brightness and J-H color variations in R Sge can be explained by temperature pulsations with ΔT ≤ 200 K and radial pulsations with [ΔR/R] ≤ 0.2. From 1995 to 2008, the mean J brightness of RV Tau increased, while its mean J-H color index decreased; the variations in the mean J brightness can be associated mainly with stellar temperature variations; a periodic component with P = 78.73 days is observed in the infrared brightness and color fluctuations. The variations in the mean J brightness and J-H color index of the supergiant V1027 Cyg over eighteen years of observations did not exceed a few hundredths of a magnitude; both temperature and radial pulsations may be present in the observed J brightness variations. The most probable period of the infrared brightness fluctuations in V1027 Cyg is 237 ± 2 days. The dust shell of R Sge may consist of two layers with grain temperatures of ~1000 and ~700 K; the optical depth at 1.25 µm is ~0.02 and ~0.24, respectively. The grain temperatures in the circumstellar dust shells of the supergiants RV Tau and V1027 Cyg are ~600 K (RV Tau) and ~700 K (V1027 Cyg). Their optical depths at 1.25 µm are ~0.24 (RV Tau) and ~0.008 (V1027 Cyg).  相似文献

We present recent results from optical photometric and spectroscopic observations of the pre‐main sequence star V1184 Tau (CB 34V). The star is associated with the Bok globule CB 34 and was considered as a FUOR candidate in previous studies. Our photometric data obtained from October 2000 to April 2003 show that the stellar brightness varies with an amplitude of about 0.m 5 (I ), but from August 2003 the photometric behavior of the star has changed dramatically. Three deep brightness minima (ΔI ∼ 4m.2) were observed during the past two years. The analysis of available photometric data suggests that V1184 Tau shows two types of variability produced (1) by rotation of large cool spotted surface and (2) by occultation from circumstellar clouds of dust or from features of a circumstellar disk. The behavior of the VI index indicates that the star becomes redder towards minimum light, but from a certain turning point (V ∼ 18m.2) it gets bluer and is fading further. Five medium dispersion optical spectra of V1184 Tau were obtained in the period 2001–2004. Signi.cant changes in the profile and strength of the emission lines in the spectrum of V1184 Tau were found. During minimum light the equivalent width of the Hα emission line increases from 4 Å to 9 Å. The [O I] lines (λλ 6003, 6363 Å) are also seen in emission while the sodium doublet keeps its absorption strength and equivalent width. In the UV spectra of BP Tau, GW Ori, T Tau, and RY Tau obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope, we detected an inflection near 2000 Å in the F λ c (λ) curve that describes the continuum energy distribution. The inflection probably stems from the fact that the UV continuum in these stars consists of two components: the emission from an optically thick gas with T<8000 K and the emission from a gas with a much higher temperature. The total luminosity of the hot component is much lower than that of the cool component, but the hot-gas radiation dominates at λ<1800 Å. Previously, other authors have drawn a similar conclusion for several young stars from low-resolution IUE spectra. However, we show that the short-wavelength continuum is determined from these spectra with large errors. We also show that, for three of the stars studied (BP Tau, GW Ori, and T Tau), the accretion-shock radiation cannot account for the observed dependence F λ c (λ) in the ultraviolet. We argue that more than 90% of the emission continuum in BP Tau at λ>2000 Å originates not in the accretion shock but in the inner accretion disk. Previously, a similar conclusion was reached for six more classical T Tau stars. Therefore, we believe that the high-temperature continuum can be associated with the radiation from the disk chromosphere. However, it may well be that the stellar chromosphere is its source.  相似文献

Results from optical photometric observations of the pre-main sequence star GM Cep are reported in the paper. The star is located in the field of the young open cluster Trumpler 37—a region of active star formation. GM Cep shows a large amplitude rapid variability interpreted as a possible outburst from EXor type in previous studies. Our data from BVRI CCD photometric observations of the star are collected from June 2008 to February 2011 in Rozhen observatory (Bulgaria) and Skinakas observatory (Crete, Greece). A sequence of sixteen comparison stars in the field of GM Cep was calibrated in the BVRI bands. Our photometric data for a 2.5 years period show a high amplitude variations ($\Delta V \sim2\mbox{$\Delta V \sim2\mbox{) and two deep minimums in brightness are observed. The analysis of collected multicolor photometric data shows the typical of UX Ori variables a color reversal during the minimums in brightness. On the other hand, high amplitude rapid variations in brightness typical for the Classical T Tauri stars also present on the light curve of GM Cep. Comparing our results with results published in the literature, we conclude that changes in brightness are caused by superposition of both: (1) magnetically channeled accretion from the circumstellar disk, and (2) occultation from circumstellar clouds of dust or from features of a circumstellar disk.  相似文献

New photometric observations of the variable star FG Sge, a rapidly evolving planetary nebula nucleus, were performed in 2003–2008. On 230 nights, we obtained 86 UBV and 155 BV RI (or R c , I c ) magnitude estimates. The maximum amplitude of the V-band light variations was >8 m . Six deep minima and four high maxima were observed. Analysis of the light curve has shown that the pulsation period of the star remained constant since 1991 and was P = 115 days. We have studied the wavelength dependence of the extinction at various phases of the light curve. The blueing of the B-V color at deep minima is interpreted as the result of light scattering in the circumstellar dust shell of the star formed by preceding dust ejections since 1992. Our spectroscopic observations performed on nine nights in 2003–2007 with the 125-cm telescope at the Crimean Station of the Sternberg Institute have confirmed the previously detected intensity variations of the Swan bands and the sodium doublet with brightness. It is noted that the Swan bands originate in the upper atmosphere, the star’s extended envelope, while the sodium doublet originates mainly in the circumstellar shell of FG Sge. We suggest that the star is currently located in the temperature-luminosity diagram at the turning point of the horizontal track of cooling in the direction of hot stars—evolution caused by the last helium shell flash at the planetary nebula stage.  相似文献

We present the results of multicolor (UBV JHKLM) photometry (2009–2017) and low-resolution spectroscopy (2016–2017) of the semi-regular variable V1427 Aql = HD 179821, a yellow supergiant with gas-dust envelope. The star displays low-amplitude (ΔV<0 . m 2) semi-periodic brightness variations superimposed on a long-term trend. The light curve shape and timescale change from cycle to cycle. There are temperature variations characteristic for pulsations; brightness oscillations with no significant change of color are also observed. The UBV data for the 2009–2011 interval are well reproduced by a superposition of two periodic components with P = 170d and 141d (or P = 217d—the one year alias of P = 141d). The variation became less regular after 2011, the timescale increased and exceeded 250d. Unusual photometric behavior was seen in 2015 when the star brightness increased by 0 . m 25 in the V filter in 130 days and reached the maximum value ever observed in the course of our monitoring since 1990. In 2009–2016 the annual average brightness monotonically increased in V, J, K, whereas it decreased in U and B. The annual average U ? B, B ? V, and J ? K colors grew, the star was getting redder. The cooling and expanding of the star photosphere along with the increasing of luminosity may explain the long-term trend in brightness and colors. Based on our photometric data we suppose that the photosphere temperature decreased by ~400 K in the 2008–2016 interval, the radius increased by ~24%, and the luminosity grew by ~19%. We review the change of annual average photometric data for almost 30 years of observations. Low-resolution spectra in the λ4000?9000 Å wavelength range obtained in 2016–2017 indicate significant changes in the spectrum of V1427 Aql as compared with the 1994–2008 interval, i.e., the Ba II and near-infraredCa II triplet absorptions have gotten stronger while the OI λ7771-4 triplet blend has weakened that points out the decrease of temperature in the region where the absorptions are formed. The evolutionary stage of the star is discussed. We also compare V1427 Aql with post-AGB stars and yellow hypergiants.  相似文献

We present our long-term photometric and spectroscopic observations of a high-latitude B supergiant with an infrared excess—the protoplanetary nebula IRAS 18062+2410. OurU BV observations in 2000–2006 have confirmed the rapid irregular photometric variability of the star with a maximum amplitude as high as 0 . m 4 in V that we found previously. The BV and UB color indices vary with amplitudes as high as 0 . m 10 and 0 . m 25, respectively, and show no clear correlation with the brightness. Our V-band CCD observations on 11 nights in 2006 have revealed brightness trends during the night. The variability of IRAS18062+2410 is similar in pattern to the light variations in other hot post-AGB objects and some of the nuclei of young planetary nebulae. We assume that pulsations and a variable stellar wind can be responsible for the variability of these stars. In addition to the rapid variability, our 12-year-long observations have revealed a systematic decline in the mean brightness of IRAS 18062+2410. This may be related to a rise in the temperature of the star at constant luminosity as a result of its evolution. Low-resolution spectroscopic observations have shown a systematic increase in the equivalent widths of the Hα, Hβ, [NII]λ6584 Å, OI λ8446 Å, and [OII] λ7320–7330 Å emission lines. The changes in the star’s emission line spectrum are probably caused by an increase in the degree of ionization of the gas shell due to a rise in the temperature of the ionizing star. Our photometric and spectroscopic observations of IRAS 18062+2410 confirm the previously made assumptions that the star evolves very rapidly to the region of planetary nebulae.  相似文献

We analyze the encounters of the neutron star (pulsar) Geminga with open star clusters in the OB association Ori OB1a through the integration of epicyclic orbits into the past by taking into account the errors in the data. The open cluster ASCC21 is shown to be the most probable birthplace of either a single progenitor star for the Geminga pulsar or a binary progenitor system that subsequently broke up. Monte Carlo simulations of Geminga-ASCC21 encounters with the pulsar radial velocity V r = ?100±50 km s?1 have shown that close encounters could occur between them within ≤10 pc at about t = ?0.52 Myr. In addition, the trajectory of the neutron star Geminga passes at a distance of ≈25 pc from the center of the compact OB association λ Ori at about t = ?0.39 Myr, which is close to the age of the pulsar estimated from its timing.  相似文献

We present the results of our UBV and JHKLM photometry for the semiregular pulsating variable V1027 Cyg, a supergiant with an infrared excess, over the period from 1997 to 2015 (UBV) and in 2009–2015 (JHKLM). Together with the new data, we analyze the photometric observations of V1027 Cyg that we have obtained and published previously. Our search for a periodicity in the UBV brightness variations has led to several periods from P = 212d to 320d in different time intervals. We have found the period P = 237d based on our infrared photometry. The variability amplitude, the lightcurve shape, and themagnitude of V1027 Cyg atmaximum light change noticeably from cycle to cycle. The deepest minimum was observed in 2011, when the amplitudes of brightness variations in the star reached the following values: ΔU = 1 . m 28, ΔB = 1 . m 10, ΔV = 1 . m 05, ΔJ = 0 . m 30, ΔH = 0 . m 35, ΔK = 0 . m 32, ΔL = 0 . m 26, and ΔM = 0 . m 10. An ambiguous correlation of the B ? V and U ? B colors with the brightness has been revealed. For example, a noticeable bluing of the star was observed during the deep 1992, 2008, and 2011 minima, while the variations with smaller amplitudes show an increase in B ? V at the photometric minima. The spectral energy distribution for V1027 Cyg from our photometry in the range 0.36 (U)–5.0 (M) μm corresponds to spectral types from G8I to K3I at different phases of the pulsation cycle. Low-resolution spectra of V1027 Cyg in the range λ4400–9200 ?A were taken during 16 nights over the period 1995–2015. At the 1995 and 2011 photometric minima the star’s spectrum exhibited molecular TiO bands whose intensity corresponded to spectral types M0–M1, while the photometric data point to a considerably earlier spectral type. We hypothesize that the TiO bands are formed in the upper layers of the extended stellar atmosphere. We have measured the equivalent widths of the strongest absorption lines, in particular, the infrared Ca II triplet in the spectrum of V1027 Cyg. The calcium triplet (Ca T) with W λ(Ca T) = 20.3 ± 1.8 ?A as a luminosity indicator for supergiants places V1027 Cyg in the region of the brightest G–K supergiants. V1027 Cyg has been identified with the infrared source IRAS 20004+2955 and is currently believed to be a candidate for post-AGB stars. The evolutionary status of the star and its difference from other post-AGB objects are discussed.  相似文献

We present our photoelectric U BV observations of the candidate protoplanetary object IRAS 22223+4327 during four visibility seasons. The star exhibited periodic brightness variations with the maximum amplitudes \(\Delta U = 0\mathop .\limits^m 23, \Delta B = 0\mathop .\limits^m 18, and \Delta V = 0\mathop .\limits^m 12\) and a time scale of about 90 days, which is equal to the period derived by other authors from radial velocities. During these brightness variations, a correlation is observed between the (B-V) color index and brightness, which is characteristic of pulsations. We estimated the star’s spectral type from our photometric data to be F8 I. We detected a “deficit” of light in the U band. The star’s mean brightness and its spectral type appear to have not changed in the past half a century.  相似文献

The results of spectroscopic observations of the star RY Tau in the ultraviolet based on IUE data and in the visual spectral range obtained at ShAO are presented. Despite significant brightness variability in 1983–1984, the Mg II λ2800 Å emission doublet showed no synchronous variation with the UBV photometric data. Periodic variability of the Mg II λ2800 Å emission intensity with a period of 23 days has been detected for the first time. The periodicity is also observed for a group of such lines as CIV λ1450 Å, He II λ1640 Å, and S II λ1756 Å. The equivalent widths and shifts of the individual components of the Hα, H + H ε , and CaII K lines also vary with the period found. The observed variability of the emission spectrum can be explained by the existence of a companion in the system in an orbit with a semimajor axis of about 0.13 AU.  相似文献

We present an analysis of new photometric and spectropolarimetric observations of a chromospherically active star FKCom. Based on this observational data and the data from the literature sources, applying a common technique, we performed an analysis of a complete set of the available photometric data, which were divided into 218 individual light curves. For each of them a reverse problem of restoring largescale temperature irregularities on the surface of the star from its light curve was solved. We analyzed the time series for the brightness of the star in the U-, B-, and V-bands, the brightness variability amplitudes, the total area of the spots on the surface of the star, and the average brightness of each set considered. The analysis of determination results of the positions of active longitudes leads to the conclusion about the existence of two systems of active regions on the FKCom surface. It was determined that the positions of each of these systems undergo cyclic changes. This confirms the conclusion on the likely absence of a strongly pronounced regularity of the flip-flops in FKCom, earlier suggested by other researchers. The results of the new polarimetric observations FKCom in 2014–2015 are presented. These measurements evidence the legitimacy of the proposed interpretation the behavior of the longitudinal magnetic field strength 〈Bz〉, indicating the settling-in of a more symmetric distribution of magnetic region on the FKCom surface. An increasing activity of the star over the recent years, registered from the photometric observations is also consistent with the probable onset of growth in the 〈Bz〉 parameter starting from 2014.  相似文献
