Abstract

The Xihu sag, which is the largest petroliferous sub-basin of the East China Sea Shelf Basin, formed in a continental back-arc setting. The Oligocene Huagang Formation consisting of a fluvial–lacustrine succession deposited during the compressional stage is the prime hydrocarbon-bearing interval in the Xihu sag. A third-order sequence-stratigraphic framework has been built, and component sand-body characteristics were investigated based on seismic attribute analysis and well-log correlation. Two overall upward-fining sequences, and an internal low-accommodation systems tract (LAST) (fluvial successions characterised by amalgamated fluvial channel sand bodies interlayered with rare overbank deposits) and high-accommodation systems tract (HAST) (intervals dominated by overbank or lacustrine deposits) have been identified. The thick, multi-storied channel-fill sandstone bodies deposited along the central depression belt, capped by extensive overbank or lacustrine mud deposits, characterise each sequence and form favourable reservoir–seal associations. Proximal-to-distal changes in lithofacies associations were also analysed. The sequence-stratigraphic and lithofacies analysis suggest the existence of an axial, large-scale river channel system in the Oligocene Xihu sag. On the basis of the restoration of basin geomorphology and seismic facies analysis, the depositional architectures of the axial paleodrainage system have been reconstructed. Overall, the Huagang sequences represent the sedimentary evolution of a large-scale fluvial system sourced from axial and lateral supply areas, to form river deltas into an interior-draining basin-centre lake. Two major fluvio-lacustrine transgression–regression cycles have been recorded. During the transgression cycle, the fluvial morphology was dominated by braided fluvial style; whereas during the regression cycle, the fluvial morphology was characterised by a combination of multiple fluvial channel styles in the LAST, from upstream to downstream low-sinuosity braided, high-sinuosity braided and anastomosing fluvial channel patterns were distributed and then replaced by large-scale lake flooding in the HAST. The braided channel centre, paleobathymetric lows of channel networks and delta-front bodies are sand-prone units. The fluvial sedimentation was governed by multiple parameters: tectonics, paleogeomorphology and climate fluctuations. This integrated study on fluvial sedimentation and evolution of the Oligocene drainage system enable us to propose a conceptual model depicting fluvial channel styles and component sand-body architecture in lacustrine rift basins with axial plus transverse sediment supplies. This model can serve as a reference to illustrate channel-sand-body and associated reservoir architecture in similar types of drainage systems in terrestrial basins.  相似文献

Lake Hazar lies within a small pull-apart basin along the East Anatolian Transform Fault in south-eastern Turkey. Deltas are formed where streams debouch into the low-energy lacustrine environment. The facies constituting the deltas include delta plain debris flow, braided stream, and marginal lacustrine deposits; delta front foreset and mouth bar deposits; prodelta and lacustrine deposits. The facies are spatially restricted with sharp transitions. Facies sequences and relationships indicate two distinct styles of deltaic sedimentation. Fan deltas with a tripartite structure characteristic of Gilbert-type deltas comprise the marginal drainage system and form along the basin margins. Mouth bar deltas develop where the axial drainage system of the basin debouches into the lake. The distribution of the two deltaic types is thought to be a function of gradient and controlled by position relative to faults within the basin.  相似文献

Maar craters of the Mio-Pliocene Hopi Buttes volcanic field of Arizona formed within a broad playa system, and accumulated a variety of lacustrine sedimentary deposits. Many craters initially held isolated, groundwater-fed lakes. Ephemeral streams crossing the playa entered some of the lake-filled craters, and built coarse grained Gilbert-type deltas and subaqueous fans along the margins of these craters. The small, coarse grained fans and deltas have many features in common with much larger coarse grained deltaic and fan deltaic deposits. However, the local production of coarse grained volcanic sediment, low gradients in the local stream catchment, steep subaqueous relief and the small size of the receiving ‘basins’resulted in a unique combination of features. Cone-shaped subaqueous fans initially formed at the mouths of incised feeder streams. The fans are small accumulations of steeply dipping gravelly tephra that consist almost entirely of overlapping lobes constructed by density-modified grain flows. Gravelly Gilbert-type tephra deltas formed in brimfull craters fed by a freely migrating feeder stream. They are concave lakeward, mimicking the underlying crater wall topography. Complex deltaic geometries are defined by topset strata that steeply onlap tall foreset beds. They suggest that feeding stream floods caused rapid and comparatively large variations in lake level within the small crater lakes. Bed-specific carbonate alteration is common, and probably resulted from both influx of detrital carbonate across the playa and alteration of tephra beds by carbonate-saturated lakewaters during between flood periods of high net evaporation.  相似文献

The Rotliegend beds of the middle of the Kusel Group to the middle of the Lebach Group in the Saar-Nahe Basin are characterized by sedimentary sequences which developed in streams, deltas, and lakes. The stream sequences consisting of cross-stratified sandstone units are attributed to braided fluvial environment. The lake-delta sequences usually show gradual transition from lacustrine mudstones to delta-front cross-stratified sandstones and to floodbasin, crevasse and overbank sandstones and mudstones. Loaded high-intensity flows occasionally result in deformation- and erosion-structures. Low-energy lacustrine sedimentation is evident from paper-shales and massive mudstones. The mudstones alternate with cross-laminated sandstones where influenced by terrigenous influx.  相似文献

塔里木盆地南缘新生代沉积地层厚达万米以上。研究的叶城和阿尔塔什两个剖面分别厚4500m和7000m,基本代表了塔里木南部的新生代沉积。叶城剖面的底界年龄根据磁性地层测定约为8Ma。阿尔塔什剖面的底界年龄根据海相碳酸盐岩87Sr/86Sr的比值与全球Sr同位素曲线对比,约为30~35Ma。从岩性地层分析,剖面的下部为中新统乌恰群,主要由泥岩和粉砂岩组成,沉积相为低能环境的辫状河和曲流河。剖面的中部是上新统阿图什组,由红色泥岩、砂岩夹薄层砾岩以及埋藏风成黄土构成,沉积环境为冲-洪积扇的中远端。剖面的上部是上新统—下更新统西域组,由中粗砾岩夹块状粉砂岩透镜体(埋藏风成黄土)组成,主要是近源洪积扇沉积和风成沉积,以上地层层序可以进行很好的区域对比。塔里木盆地南缘新生代沉积由新近纪红层向上变化为逆粒序砾岩和碎屑流沉积,记录了青藏高原北缘隆升造成的沉积环境的变化,尤其是干旱化气候的阶段性演化。在约8Ma时,叶城和阿尔塔什两个剖面都发育了风成沙丘沉积。而在阿尔塔什剖面,沙丘沉积之下还发育了一套厚层的膏盐沉积,指示了塔里木盆地南缘在此前后已经相当干旱,只是仅凭这些证据还难以判断沙漠发育的规模。而上新世—更新世阿图什组和西域组中发育的埋藏风成黄土沉积,则指示了塔克拉玛干沙漠在此时已经发育到了相当规模,极度干旱的气候条件(可能类似于现在)已经形成。  相似文献

The distribution of hominin fossil sites in the Turkana Basin, Kenya is intimately linked to the history of the Omo River, which affected the paleogeography and ecology of the basin since the dawn of the Pliocene. We report new geological data concerning the outlet channel of the Omo River between earliest Pliocene and final closure of the Turkana Basin drainage system in the latest Pliocene to earliest Quaternary. Throughout most of the Pliocene the Omo River entered the Turkana Basin from its source in the highlands of Ethiopia and exited the eastern margin of the basin to discharge into the Lamu embayment along the coast of the Indian Ocean. During the earliest Pliocene the river’s outlet was located in the northern part of the basin, where a remnant outlet channel is preserved in basalts that pre-date eruption of the Gombe flood basalt between 4.05 and 3.95 Ma. The outlet channel was faulted down to the west prior to 4.05 Ma, forming a natural dam behind which Lake Lonyumun developed. Lake Lonyumun was drained between 3.95 and 3.9 Ma when a new outlet channel formed north of Loiyangalani in the southeastern margin of the Turkana Basin. That outlet was blocked by Lenderit Basalt lava flows between 2.2 and 2.0 Ma. Faulting that initiated either during or shortly after eruption of the Lenderit Basalt closed the depression that is occupied by modern Lake Turkana to sediment and water.Several large shield volcanoes formed east of the Turkana Basin beginning by 2.5–3.0 Ma, volcanism overlapping in time, but probably migrating eastward from Mount Kulal on the eastern edge of the basin to Mount Marsabit located at the eastern edge of the Chalbi Desert. The mass of the volcanic rocks loaded and depressed the lithosphere, enhancing subsidence in a shallow southeast trending depression that overlay the Cretaceous and Paleogene (?) Anza Rift. Subsidence in this flexural depression guided the course of the Omo River towards the Indian Ocean, and also localized accumulations of lava along the margins of the shield volcanoes. Lava flows at Mount Marsabit extended across the Omo River Valley after 1.8–2.0 Ma based on estimated ages of fossils in lacustrine and terrestrial deposits, and possibly by as early as 2.5 ± 0.3 Ma based on dating of a lava flow. During the enhanced precipitation in latest Pleistocene and earliest Holocene (11–9.5 ka) this flexural depression became the site of Lake Chalbi, which was separated from Lake Turkana by a tectonically controlled drainage divide.  相似文献

A thick sedimentary sequence comprising fluvial, lacustrine and volcano-sedimentary rocks is present in the Neogene Beypazari Basin, central Anatolia. These units display considerable lateral facies variation and interfinger with alkaline volcanic rocks along the north-eastern margin of the basin. The uppermost Miocene Kirmir Formation contains numerous evaporite horizons. The evaporite sequence is up to 250 m thick and may be divided into four lithofacies. In ascending stratigraphical order these are: (1) gypsiferous claystone facies, (2) thenardite-glauberite facies, (3) laminar gypsum facies and (4) crystalline gypsum facies. These facies interfinger with one another laterally along a section from the margins to central parts of the basin. The lithological and sedimentological features of the Kirmir Formation indicate fluvial, saline playa mudflat, hypersaline ephemeral playa lake and very shallow subaqueous playa lake depositional environments, which probably were influenced by alternating semi-arid and evaporative conditions.  相似文献

运用层序地层学原理,对鄂尔多斯盆地东缘上三叠统延长组长7—长4+5曲流河三角洲露头进行深入的研究,划分出低位体系域、湖侵体系域和高位体系域,其内部砂体骨架是由席状化水下分流河道、曲流型分流河道、辫状型分流河道沉积构成。阐述了鄂尔多斯盆地东缘上三叠统延长组层序格架和砂体结构特征,建立了鄂尔多斯盆地层序地层格架内砂体分布模式,构建了层序地层格架内砂体结构与相对湖平面响应模式图。研究表明随湖平面变化层序格架内砂体结构发生规律性变化,低位体系域早期侵蚀,晚期充填呈复合状砂体;湖侵体系域砂体呈孤立状;高位体系域早期砂体发育不全,晚期呈席状砂体。  相似文献

通过研究构造背景、野外露头、岩性组合、沉积构造、古生物特征和测井曲线特征,分析和总结鄂尔多斯盆地白垩系洛河组至环河华池组沉积相、相带分布范围和沉积特征。洛河组主要沉积了冲积扇相、风成沉积相、辫状河相和沙漠相;而在环河华池组主要沉积了湖相、三角洲相、曲流河相及风成砂岩夹层。平面上沉积相带的变化规律性较强,由盆地边缘的冲积相、冲积—河流相砾岩向盆内渐变为河流相—滨浅湖—半深湖相泥岩。沉积特征受构造运动影响和沉积相带控制,洛河组是从山缘向盆地内砂岩厚度迅速变薄、尖灭;环河华池组岩性变化表现为北粗南细、东粗西细,在北部砂体呈现东薄西厚,东北向西南增厚,在南部砂体呈近南北向展布,东薄西厚,南薄北厚。  相似文献

利用成熟探区翔实的岩芯、录井和测井等资料,研究了辽河盆地西部凹陷曙二区大凌河油层湖底扇沉积特征与沉积模式。研究表明,大凌河油层湖底扇具有较为发育的水道体系(主沟道或辫状沟道),平面上相带展布、扇体的分布面积、砂体延伸方向和分布模式受水道及古地貌变化的控制。水道体系及其控制的沉积体呈顺源、带状展布。主沟道向前延伸逐渐变为规模较大的辫状沟道沉积,两侧发育辫状沟道侧缘,呈条带-舌形展布,向湖方向逐渐演变为多支小型末端辫状沟道沉积。湖底扇内部平面微相序列表现为“主沟道→主沟道堤→深湖泥”或“辫状沟道→辫状沟道侧缘→辫状沟道间(或末梢)→深湖泥”的变化特征。每支辫状沟道控制形成的带状沉积体间均为明显深湖-半深湖泥岩沉积分割,呈带状-舌状沉积体向湖盆中心延伸较远。  相似文献

根据岩心、电测曲线、录井、分析化验、地震等资料,研究了白音查干凹陷下白垩统腾格尔组沉积相类型和沉积特征,以及腾格尔组沉积相分布规律。结果表明,腾格尔组发育扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、湖泊和浊积扇4种沉积相,扇三角洲分布在北部陡坡,辫状河三角洲分布南部缓坡,从盆地边缘到盆地中心,沉积相由扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲沉积渐变为半深湖—深湖相沉积,在三角洲侧翼发育滨—浅湖相沉积,在三角洲前缘以及前三角洲和半深湖中发育浊积扇,整体呈南北分异、东西分化,这种沉积格局受盆地周边断层和古地形控制。扇三角洲和辫状河三角洲前缘亚相带仍然是油气聚集的重要相带,而与断层相关的其前缘近岸浊积扇是岩性油气藏勘探的有利目标。  相似文献

The moraine plateau near BetchatÓw (central Poland) was incised at the beginning of the Middle Weichselian. Valleys 20–35 m deep were formed and then infilled with silts, sands, gravels, organic sediments and slope diamictons of the Piaski Formation, which is characterized by highly varying sedimentary environments. Initially - 40,000–30,000 BP - lacustrine sediments with an obvious colian supply (re-worked loess) and locally fluvial suites were deposited in depressions. Slope sediments were simultaneously deposited at the valley margins. The Middle Weichselian was relatively mild and dry, but the milder interstadial periods have not been precisely established. Semi-anastomosing, stable-channel, highly aggrading and ephemeral streams of a semi-arid climate (subpolar desert) formed c. 30,000–22,000 BP. Continuous permafrost is implied from cyclic sedimentary processes reflecting summer melting and from periglacial structures. This was succeeded by a highly aggrading, high-energy and ephemeral braided fluvial system in an arid climate (polar desert), reflecting a complete lack of vegetation and increased eolian activity. These braided rivers formed during a period which may be directly correlated with the time of the maximum extent of the last ice sheet (22,000–14,350 BP), characterized by the most severe climatic conditions with strong periglacial activity. Finally - (14,350-12,700 BP)- eolian sediments were deposited, reflecting milder climatic conditions at the time of the abrupt ice sheet decay.  相似文献

根据大量的钻井和露头资料,对塔里木盆地早白垩世沉积相特征和古地理进行了研究。塔里木盆地下白垩统主要发育冲积扇-扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、氧化宽浅湖泊等3种沉积体系,包括陆相冲(洪)积扇、扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲、滨浅湖等沉积相,分布于下白垩统不同层位。塔里木盆地早白垩世主要包括塔东北和塔西南两大沉积区,总体为干旱氧化的内陆拗陷分割盆地。在塔东北沉积大区,早白垩世早期卡普沙良群沉积物受周缘4大物源区控制,为多物源的氧化宽浅湖盆环境,古地势呈“南高北低、东高西低”,盆地边缘以冲(洪)积扇、扇三角洲、辫状河三角洲相为主,盆地内部为滨浅湖亚相。早白垩世晚期巴什基奇克组沉积时期,塔里木盆地周缘进入一个新的构造活动期,古气候更加炎热干旱,氧化宽浅湖盆消失。在塔东北沉积大区,盆地受周缘4个主要物源区影响,以广泛分布的冲积扇-辫状河三角洲沉积体系占主体,盆地内部普遍为辫状河三角洲前缘-滨浅湖亚相沉积。在塔西南沉积大区,早白垩世克孜勒苏群沉积时期古地势呈“东高西低”,受北部喀什北山前和西南部古昆仑山2个物源区的控制,沉积物沿古昆仑山前呈狭长的条带状分布,沉积厚度自西向东减薄,主要是一套冲积扇-扇三角洲相和滨浅湖亚相沉积。  相似文献

青海湖地区的晚第四纪黄土记录了湖区晚第四纪以来的环境和气候变化.迄今为止,对于青海湖地区晚第四纪黄土物质来源的研究较薄弱.以青海湖东岸的种羊场晚第四纪风成沉积剖面为主要研究对象,在青海湖区及其周边采集了黄土、风成砂、湖相沉积、河流沉积等样品,结合黄土高原西部临洮黄土样品,对它们的元素组成(<75 μm的硅酸盐组分)进行了对比研究.初步结果表明:(1) K2O/Al2O3(摩尔比)和Zr/Ti、Zr/Nb比值显示青海湖地区的风成沉积显著区别于本区的河流沉积和湖相沉积;(2) 青海湖地区的晚第四纪黄土与黄土高原西部临洮黄土的K2O/Al2O3和Zr/Ti、Zr/Nb比值相一致;(3) 青海湖地区的晚第四纪黄土可能来自柴达木盆地.   相似文献

以landsand-TM遥感影像资料提取为基础,详细解译了宁夏红寺堡盆地近30年来地表沙漠化的进程。进一步结合1:50000区域地质填图成果,系统建立了红寺堡盆地晚更新世区域地层对比格架,恢复了重要演化阶段的岩相古地理格局,地质与地球化学分析相结合,确立了区域沙漠化的物质来源。研究结果认为:1999年国家实施的西部生态移民战略使红寺堡盆地生态环境恶化得到了有效修复,区域沙漠化整体呈现出了稳中有降的变化趋势,但并未得到彻底的有效根治;地表沙丘沙脊的主体走向呈北西-南东向,与大罗山-牛首山构造带、烟筒山构造的主体走向基本一致,具有带状分布的格局;沙漠化物质来源主要受控于上更新统萨拉乌苏组三段湖退序列的疏松湖相砂,具有原地沙漠化的特征;地表风成沙与萨拉乌苏三段湖相砂在主量元素、微量元素和稀土元素特征上具有比较一致性的变化趋势,进一步说明了二者在成因上具有一定的亲源性。该研究成果对区域土地沙漠化的综合防治具有重要的现实指导意义。   相似文献

Dozens of Paleoindian sites, including the Boca Negra Wash (BNW) Folsom site (LA 124474), are scattered across a basalt plateau (the West Mesa) on the western side of the Albuquerque Basin, and adjacent uplands. The BNW site, like many others in the area, is located near a small (˜60 × 90 m) playa basin that formed in a depression on the basalt surface and was subsequently covered by an eolian sand sheet (Unit 1) dated by OSL to ˜23,000 yr B.P. Most of the basin fill is ˜2 m of playa mud (Units 2 and 3) dating ˜13,970 14C yr B.P. (17,160–16,140 cal yr B.P.) at the sand–mud interface to ˜2810 14C yr B.P. (˜2960–2860 cal yr B.P.) at the top. C/N ratios suggest that the BNW playa basin probably held water more often during the Folsom occupation; stable carbon isotope values indicate C3 vegetation was more common as well, but C4 grasses became dominant in the Holocene. Cores extracted from four playa basins nearby revealed a similar stratigraphy and geochronology, documenting presence of wetlands on playa floors during the Paleoindian occupation of the area. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Geoarchaeological investigations at the Clovis type site, Blackwater Locality No. 1, in 1983 and 1984 included core drilling, archaeological test excavations, stratigraphic profiling, sedimentary analyses, and radiocarbon dating. Six lines of core holes transverse to the outlet channel clearly defined the subsurface configuration and stratigraphy of the prehistoric spring run. Pieces of large animal bone from units B, C, D, and E that elsewhere in the site contain Paleoindian artifacts suggest occurrences of additional buried sites along the ancient spring run. Four Paleoindian projectile points recovered during archaeological testing confirm these prospects. The Clovis type site, located in an abandoned gravel pit, is in a natural depression initially occupied by a late Pleistocene lake. After breaching of the depression by overflow or sapping, it became a springhead and was enlarged by slumping and slopewash. Detailed stratigraphic profiling of the south wall of the abandoned gravel pit provided precise stratigraphic control for sediment sampling and radiocarbon dating, and revealed more complex microstratigraphy and facies relationships than heretofore known for the site. The interfingering of dune facies around the depression with lacustrine and spring-laid facies within it aid paleoclimatic interpretation. Deflational contacts within the depression appear to correlate with adjacent wedges of dune sand reflecting relatively arid intervals. Between these arid episodes occur intervals of increased ground water level attended initially by deposition of spring-laid sands of unit B during the late Pleistocene (13,000–11,500 yr B.P.). As the water table rose following a period of severe deflation, slumping and gravity flow deposited clayey sand, Unit C, on the floor of the blowout between 11,500 and 11,000 yr B.P. During this time Clovis people first appeared at the site. After another brief period of deflation, a lake rose causing sand of Unit D0 to be washed in from shore followed by deposition of diatomities, units D1 and D2. These were separated by a brief influx of eolian sand, unit D2z. Between 10,800 and 10,000 yr B.P. outflow from the lake was reduced by accumulation of eolian sand in the outlet while Folsom people and later Agate Basin people arrived to hunt bison during this time. Cody complex people appeared during and after a brief erosional episode that preceded deposition of eolian silt and sand of units E and F from 10,000 to 8000 yr B.P. Eolian deposition during post-Folsom time converted the pond to a wet meadow and eventually, during Cody time, to a grassy swale. Some of these deposits were blown out during the Altithermal arid period (ca. 8000-5000 yr B.P.), a time when prehistoric Archaic peoples excavated wells in the floor of the depression. Subsequent eolian activity has resulted in deflation and dune migration during the late Holocene. The best prospects for Paleoindian finds are along the buried outlet south of the south wall and in early Holocene dune sands on the uplands around the depression. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

断陷湖盆具有多物源注入和地貌复杂的特征,开展从源到汇的分析有利于深化对有利砂体展布的认识. 以涠西南凹陷C洼及邻近凸起为例,基于测井和地震资料刻画了源?汇系统的要素特征,区分出协调和非协调两类供源样式,明确了多物源汇聚下沉积体系的时空展布规律. 研究表明,涠西南凹陷C洼流三段接受北部、南部短轴体系和西部长轴体系的联合供源,南部体系可进一步划分为S-Ⅰ、S-Ⅱ、S-Ⅲ三个次级体系. 其中,长轴体系具有低缓的源区和宽缓的沟谷,表现为常年稳定和牵引流主导的协调型供源样式,在沉积区发育粒度和含砂率相关变化的辫状河体系;短轴体系具有相对高陡的源区、深切的沟谷,如S-Ⅱ单元,代表着脉冲式和重力流主导的非协调供源样式,在沉积区发育厚层泥岩夹薄层砾岩的盆底扇和扇三角洲体系. 在流三下亚段沉积时期,在南部短轴非协调体系的强烈供源下,长轴协调体系主体被推离C洼南部而分布在中北部;在流三上亚段沉积时期,湖平面上升后短轴源区面积减小使得非协调体系供源减弱,长轴协调体系则保持稳定的供源强度并向南部偏转以填充余出的可容空间. 通过对涠西南C洼及邻近凸起开展源?汇系统分析,强调供源样式和沉积交互作用耦合控制了有利砂体的时空展布,对涠西南凹陷C洼及相似断陷湖盆的油气勘探具有一定指导意义.   相似文献
