Mineralogical and chemical compositions of ejected carbonate inclusions of Vesuvian gaseous phase are compared with those of carbonate sediments of the Somma-Vesuvius area. The basement of Vesuvius mainly consists of Mesozoic limestones. Most of these are characterized by extremely low insoluble residues. In this area thick dolomite beds occur in the Triassic system only. A calcareous layer of approximately 100 to 150 meters thickness characterized by high Sr contents (0.19% Sr in the average) is to be found within the Triassic dolostones. Several carbonate ejecta also show high Sr contents (0.1% Sr) but chemical composition of some of these ejecta differs somewhat from that of the Triassic layer high in Sr. Contact with the volcanic volatile phase and melt has produced some alterations in the composition of many ejecta. Magnesian calcites are abundant and periclase, brucite, tremolite, phlogopite and magnesite were found in the ejecta examined. Silicon, manganese, iron, zinc and, to a smaller extent, potassium and copper have been most probably transported from the volcanic gas phase into ejected carbonate inclusions. Owing to metasomatic actions of the volcanic volatile components, rearrangement and alteration of Ca and Mg contents occurred in the carbonate minerals of several ejecta. Under the influence of volcanic pressure and temperature, magnesium content originally in dolomite might be transformed into the calcite structure. \(\frac{{{\text{MgO}}}}{{{\text{CaO + MgO}}}}\) molar ratios of several carbonate ejecta do not correspond with those found in sedimentary limestones and dolostones. It cannot be proved whether the Mg of the mixed calcite-dolomite ejecta has been partially introduced from the volatiles or lost from the carbonate phases.  相似文献

鄂东南地区早三叠世大冶群为一套以碳酸岩为主的地层。在发育较全的阳新龙港新屋铺剖面可以划分出10个岩性段。本文着重探讨早三叠世中、晚期的沉积相特征。早三叠世鄂东南地区为下扬子海域的一部分,推测早三叠世早期奉区与赣西北为统一的开放海,可能与分隔华北和扬子大陆的秦岭-大别山海域相连。沉积物以深水盆地相和陆棚相泥质页岩和灰岩为主,夹风暴成因的砾屑灰岩和重力流成因的碎屑灰岩。早三叠世中期,大别山、九岭山古陆成为局限盆地,发育潮坪、渴湖、障壁丘和鲕粒滩;晚期因周期性的海平面变化导致形成局限浅水盆地、蒸发岩沉积和深水盆地泥岩和重力流沉积。这些变化与Haq等人(1988)提出的全球海平面变化曲线相吻合。  相似文献

Phanerozoic strata are distributed in several north-south trending zones in the central part of the Changning-Menglian Belt. Four types of Devonian to Triassic stratigraphic successions can be identified: (1) elastics with limestone lenses in the mid-section, changing up-section into alternations of fine elastics and cherts; (2) elastics with chert intercalations and limestone lenses, and topped by Permian basic volcanics; (3) elastics-basic volcanics-carbonates-clastics; and (4) limestones, dolomitic limestones-dark gray thin-bedded limestones, argillaceous limestones, mudstones and siliceous mudstones. Devonian to Triassic cherts occur in different horizons and different zones from east to west. These cherts are usually transitional to their neighboring elastics. There is no continuous Devonian to Middle Triassic chert sequence in the central zone of the Changning-Menglian Belt as Liu et al. (1991,1993) reported. Volcanic rocks of late Triassic to early Cretaceous age which today cover more than 140 000 km2 of the southern African sub-continent are discussed. The rocks occur as scattered outliers and represent small eroded remnants of an originally more extensive volcanic province. The rocks are best preserved in three main areas of southern Africa, in Namibia, in central South Africa, Transkei and Lesotho and in the southeastern areas of the sub-continent including South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. A history of previous work done on Karoo volcanism is presented and accounts of the geological relationships of the main, and some subsidiary, areas as well as events preceding the major phase of extrusive vulcanism are discussed. Relationships between dolerite dykes and basaltic lavas are noted. Volcano-stratigraphic and geochemical mapping have been used to subdivide the volcanic successions found in the different areas, and recently adopted nomenclature is presented. Considerable more variability has been recognised in the volcanic succession than was previously recognised, the flood basalt pile being more complex than was originally thought. Rocks from the central Karoo areas are primarily of basaltic composition whereas those from the western and eastern marginal areas include basic, and felsic types. Age relationships of the volcanics based on recent studies are outlined and geochemical variations within the entire province discussed. The classification system adopted for the Karoo volcanics is described briefly and chemical relationships of extrusive and intrusive rocks are included. In concluding some new ideas concerning the overall development of the Karoo volcanic province and related fragmentation of Gondwanaland are presented.  相似文献

The Mirdita Ophiolite Zone in Albania is associated with widespread mélanges containing components of up to nappe-size. We dated matrix and components of the mélange by radiolarians, conodonts, and other taxa. The components consist of radiolarites, pelagic limestones and shallow-water limestones, all of Triassic age, as well as ophiolites. Triassic radiolarite as a primary cover of ophiolite material proves Middle Triassic onset of Mirdita ocean-floor formation. The mélange contains a turbiditic radiolarite-rich matrix (“radiolaritic flysch”), dated as Late Bajocian to Early Oxfordian. It formed as a synorogenic sediment during west-directed thrusting of ophiolite and sediment-cover nappes representing ocean floor and underplated fragments of the western continental margin. The tectonic structures formed during these orogenic events (“Younger Kimmeridian or Eohellenic Orogeny”) are sealed by Late Jurassic platform carbonates. The geological history conforms with that of the Inner Dinarides and adjoining areas; we therefore correlate the Mirdita-Pindos Ophiolite Zone with the Vardar Zone and explain its present position by far-distance west-directed thrusting.  相似文献

下扬子地区青龙群分殷坑组、龙山组、扁担山组和马鞍山组,前三组属下三叠统,后一组属中三叠统。主要由碳酸盐岩、碎屑岩及蒸发岩组成。用单因素分析综合作图法,做出了殷坑期、和龙山期、扁担山期和东马鞍山期的岩相古地理图4幅。殷坑期的下扬子海具“四分”特征,即自南而北依次为浅水碎屑岩台地、浅水碳酸盐岩台地、深水斜坡和深水盆地。和龙山期的古地理面貌与殷坑期大体相同。扁担山期的“四分”特征己不明显,浅水碳酸盐岩台地及浅滩发育。东马鞍山期的下扬子海全为浅水环境、潮坪及泻湖发育。从殷坑期到东马鞍山期,呈现出一个明显的海退序列。  相似文献

Episodic carbonate deposits on the Triassic continental slope in southern China are mainly com-posed of gravity-flow limestones and contourite limestones. Gravity-flow limestones were well developed in thelower and middle Yangtze area in the Early Triassic and in the Yunnan-Guizhou-Guangxi area in the Early and Mid-dle Triassic. Five fundamental types of gravity-flow limestones are recognized: slide limestone, debris-flow lime-stone, grain-flow limestone. turbidite limestone and rockfall limestone. They form six types of assemblage beds:slide-debris-flow limestones, slide-debris-flow-turbidite limestone, slide-debris-flow-grain-flow-turbidite lime-stone, rockfall-debris-flow limestone, debris-flow-turbidite limestone, and debris-flow-grain-flow-turbidite lime-stone. The first two were formed mainly in the Early Triassic slopes. The Middle Triassic slopes were charcterizedby widespread rockfall limestone. Growth faults, storms, earthquakes and oversteepened slopes are considered to bethe probable triggers of the gravity flows. Contourite limestones appear as isolated lenses or thin and ripple-laminated beds of grainstones occurring inhemipelagic argillaceous limestones and lime mudstones. They were formed at the base of the slope. Palaeocurrentdata indicate that the contour currents are perpendicular to the slope. The contourite limestones are not as common asthe gravity-flow ones, but they are important in the reconstruction of the palaeogeographical and palaeotectonic set-tings in southern China.  相似文献

广西西部存在晚古生代连续深海沉积,其中各个时代玄武岩广泛分布,具大洋板内地化特征。桂西和柳州地区晚古生代硅质岩有明显的铈负异常,指示本区可能属远洋沉积环境。狭窄的深水地层条带具强烈的构造形变,所环绕的碳酸盐台地却产状平缓。区域地质分析表明,广西在晚古生代可能代表扬子和印支地块之间的古特提斯水道,碳酸盐台地可能为广海中的水下高地。  相似文献

Copper, lead, zinc, and iron are the major mineral resources of Bulgaria. Bornite, as well as tetrahedrite, chalcopyrite, pyrite, and colomorphic sphalerite, occur in Triassic dolomitic limestones of the Plakalnica deposit. Porphyry copper deposits occur in Laramide quartz monzonite, granodiorite, and quartz diorite intrusions at Miediet. Other areas of copper mineralization are associated with relatively young volcanic activity and extensive hydrothermal alteration. The zinc and lead deposits are Bulgaria's principal mineral wealth. These occur in the Siedmoichislenie deposit as individually zoned minerals in Triassic dolomitic limestones and as metasomatic replacements probably related to Oligocene rhyolites in the Hercynian-faulted Rhodope massif. Seventy percent of the iron of the Kremikovtsi deposits resulted from the oxidation of siderite to limonite in deformed Triassic sediments. --G. E. Denegar.  相似文献

In the Seeberg area (Karawanken/Austria) intermediate to acidic pyroclastic rocks of Palaeozoic age are found. These rocks are partly of upper Ordovician age and partly as yet undated. 12 complete chemical analyses of these tuffs and their corresponding modal mineral content are presented. The tuffs differ chemically from the average composition of intermediate to acidic volcanic rocks by their lower alkali and higher H2O and CO2 values. It is assumed that the originally glassy parts of the tuffs took up H2O and CO2 and lost alkalies and possibly also SiO2 during diagenesis and tectonic stress. In addition, two other complete chemical analyses of a basic dyke which cuts across Devonian limestones are given. The dyke has a spilitic mineral content which is of secondary origin. The petrographic character of the analysed tuffs is discussed in comparison with Palaeozoic and Tertiary to recent trachytes, alkali rhyolites and rhyolites.  相似文献

Siderite microconcretions in the glauconite-bearing clayey-silty rock member of the lower sub-formation of the Khaipakh Formation (Middle Riphean, Olenek Uplift) are scrutinized for the first time. In two Khorbusuonka River sections located with a spacing of 12 km, the microconcretions occur as lenses and interlayers. Together with glauconitites, they serve as a distinct marker horizon of this stratigraphic interval. Their structures, morphologies, diffraction characteristics, chemical compositions, and isotope data are considered. They were examined comprehensively with modern investigation methods (X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with the application of local microprobe analysis, and others). Structural-morphological types of microconcretions are identified. Calculation of the chemical composition of carbonates based on numerous microprobe analyses made it possible to reveal different degrees of mineral heterogeneity in each type in terms of the distribution of macro- and microlevel isomorphous trace-elements and to refine the character of their secondary alterations at different stages of lithogenesis. The results of oxygen and hydrogen isotopic studies are presented for algal dolomites and limestones from the Middle and Lower Riphean sections in the Olenek Uplift (Debengda, Arymass, and Kyutingda formations). They demonstrated that siderites are similar to limestones and dolomites in terms of the oxygen isotopic composition (δ18O = 17.6–24.8, δ18Oav = 20.0 ± 2.4‰), but are marked by low δ13C values (from ?6.3 to ?12.0‰ (δ13Cav = ?8.6 ± 2.1‰), suggesting the formation of microconcretions during early diagenesis. Siderite microconcretions were formed in the clayey-silty sediment slightly after glauconite, whose grains could serve as crystallization centers and (or) be entrapped during the growth of separate microcrystals. The role of catalyzers during the formation of both glauconite and siderite was played by bacterial communities, whose poorly preserved remnants have been detected not only in the studied member of the lower Khaipakh subformation, but also above and below the section. Separate types of microconcretion could be formed during the replacement of oncolites by siderite.  相似文献

滁河断裂从古生代以来记录了下扬子地区的动力学特征。该断裂震旦纪—志留纪是滁县—全椒深水盆地与巢县—含山浅水盆地的分界线 ;晚泥盆世—中三叠世其北侧未见沉积 ,南侧表现出由于扬子板块向北俯冲而导致的陆内拉张断陷 ;晚三叠世时成为大别—胶南造山带南侧前陆冲断褶带中一条重要的逆冲断层 ,随后卷入郯庐断裂系的左行走滑剪切 ;晚白垩世—早第三纪时表现为垒堑构造的调整边界 ,控制着滁全红色盆地的发展。新生代以来再次表现为逆冲推覆特征。  相似文献

中扬子地区下三叠统大冶组主要由碳酸盐岩和碎屑岩组成。用单因素分析综合作图法,做出了岩相古地理图1幅。在早三叠世大冶期,整个中扬子海域具“六分”特征、即自北而南依次为北部碳酸盐盆地、北部碳酸盐斜坡、浅水碳酸盐台地、南部碳酸盐斜坡、南部碳酸盐盆地、东南部碎屑滨海。在该时期内,从早到晚,沉积水体不断变浅,至末期,海域普遍抬升而变为碳酸盐台地。  相似文献

As a result of early Variscan tectonic movements and of differential subsidence, a platform and basin topography was created along the northern margin of the Sahara Craton during the late Devonian. In the Moroccan Anti-Atlas Mountains, the Tafilalt Platform is an approximately N-S running ridge which developed since the late Middle Devonian. It separated a slowly subsiding shallow basin in the east (Tafilalt Basin) from a rapidly subsiding furrow in the west (Mader Basin). Platform deposits are characterized by highly reduced thicknesses, shallow subtidal to supratidal deposits in the late Frasnian and by unconformities at the Lower/Upper Frasnian and the Frasnian/Famennian boundaries. After a local transgression over emergent areas in the north, water depth probably never reached more than several tens to about 100 m in the lower Famennian. Cephalopod limestones of this age, deposited on the platform, represent a very diverse facies pattern comprising quartz-rich brachiopod coquinas, crinoidal limestones, thick-bedded cephalopod limestones and nodular limestones. Sedimentation rates ranged from 1 to 5 mm/ 1000 yr. In the late Famennian more uniform marl and nodular limestone facies suggest slightly deeper environments. Platform margins are characterized by higher rates of subsidence, debris flow deposits and slump structures. In the relatively shallow Tafilalt Basin, marls with intercalated nodular limestones were deposited. In the Mader Basin, sandy and calcareous turbidites suggest deeper water conditions in the late Devonian. During the Strunian/Tournaisian the whole area was overwhelmed by a thick deltaic sequence. The general facies distribution is in agreement with depositional models of other Upper Devonian and Lower Carboniferous cephalopod limestones in the European Variscan orogenic belts. In all these cases, condensed cephalopod limestones occupy a distinct palaeogeographic position in predictable facies sequences that reflect pre-orogenic phases in the Variscan geodynamic cycle. Moreover, close parallels exist with condensed sequences in the Triassic and Jurassic that occur in a very similar position within the Alpine orogenic cycle.  相似文献

The Mesozoic lavas and minor intrusions in the thrust sheets of western Sicily have the following characteristics:
  1. The lavas in the Triassic Mufara Formation in the north were broken into fragments which rotated independently within the incompetent strata that enclose them. This behavior is characteristic of igneous rocks found within the more internal (northerly) thrust units.
  2. The Jurassic lavas in the more external (southerly) units have consistent directions which agree with those of the Ammonitico Rosso limestones in the same zone and lie about 30° clockwise from those of coeval autochthonous formations in Tunisia.Schult's presumed Cretaceous directions from Custonaci on the north coast (similar to those found in the Cretaceous Scaglia Rossa at Terrasini to the east byChannel et al., 1980) are rotated still more (140°) with respect to those of the autochthonous Iblean platform of SE Sicily. These differences are believed to reflect rotation of the thrust sheets during tectonic transport in Cenozoic times, the internal units being the most strongly rotated.
  3. All the igneous rocks are highly altered: generally the original mineralogy cannot be completely determined. Relative abundances of some of the less mobile elements (Ti, Sr, Y) suggest that they are intraplate basalts.

The oldest non-metamorphic sediments of northern Chile (21?–27?S) are of Early Ordovician age. The partly strong volcanic influence in the clastic series of the Pre-Cordillera and the Puna might be connected with the extensive Ordovician magmatism on the eastern side of the Argentinian Puna. The geochemical character of the tholeiitic intercalations in the pelites and turbidites of the »Complejo Igneo-Sedimentario del Cordon de Lila« (C.I.S.L.) in the Pre-Andean Depression indicates a ?Lower Ordovician extensional regime in this area. A positive area (»Arco Puneño«) encompassing the whole width of the present-day western Central Andes developed during the subsequent orogenic phase (»Fase Oclóyica«), resulting in the absence of Silurian strata in Northern Chile. During the Devonian/Carboniferous, two areas of marine facies can be distinguished. In the Coastal Cordillera thick flysch sediments were deposited longitudinally in a N-S striking trough. In the east, in what is now the Pre-Andean Depression and High Cordillera, thick sandstone series accumulated on the western shelf of the Arco Puneno. Carboniferous tectonic movements led to the formation of a shallow marine platform in the west on which clastic sediments, limestones and volcanics were deposited during the Upper Carboniferous-Permian. Simultaneously, extensive volcanism developed in the Pre- and High Cordillera accompanied by predominantly terrestrial sedimentation. A general westward migration of the orogenic zones took place along with repeated phases of rifting and accretion in the Central Andes during the Paleozoic. Eastward directed erosive subduction prevailed since the breakup of Pangea.  相似文献

The Blazna-Guset mining area is located in the Rodna Mountains, Eastern Carpathians, North Romania. It is mostly covered by the metamorphic rocks of the Rebra Series (Upper Precambrian; K/Ar dating gave 800 m.y.). The middle part of this series — called the Carbonate Formation — contains lead-zinc pyrite ores hosted by prevailingly carbonate rocks. The ores form flat and thin lenses occurring together with fine intercalations of silicate-, graphite- and quartz-bearing rocks within the calcite-dominated limestones. Pyrite, ironpoor sphalerite and galena are the main ore minerals. Chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and magnetite also occur in small amounts. Within the highly deformed and partly recrystallized parts of the ore bodies bournonite, arsenopyrite and pearceitepolybasite were locally encountered. Ba, Ti and Mn are the most significant ore-accompanying elements.  相似文献

Mineralogical, textural and geochemical investigations were made to determine the post-depositional evolution of Devonian and Early Carboniferous carbonates from Valle de Tena. The carbonate association is made up of low-Mg calcite, which occurs as micrite, spar cements, neomorphic patches and spar filling veinlets. Non-stoichiometric dolomite and ankerite occur as cements (dolomite also as replacements) in the Middle Devonian, post-dating calcite types. All these phases pre-date tectonic stylolites, indicating compaction after stabilization of the carbonate minerals. Strontium concentrations indicate that Early Devonian and Early Carboniferous micrites initially precipitated as aragonite; Middle and Late Devonian micrites precipitated as high-Mg calcites. Both precursors were diagenetically stabilized to low-Mg calcites through interaction with meteoric waters in phreatic environments. Trace elements in dolomite and ankerite indicate precipitation from Sr-enriched meteoric water. All studied carbonates, except Middle Devonian limestones, precipitated in reducing environments, which favoured incorporation of Fe and Mn. Late calcite generations precipitated from more saline waters than micrites. Light 18O values in micrites suggest alteration mainly in meteoric-phreatic environments. The dolomites and ankerites precipitated from more 18O-depleted fluids than the calcites, suggesting a greater contribution from meteoric waters. Variations in 13C of micrites represent primary secular trends, according to published 13C variations. The 13C oscillations within each succession probably relate to sea-level oscillations. Strontium isotopes also point to a meteoric origin of diagenetic fluids. Model calculations suggest that O and Sr isotopes equilibrated between calcites and fluid at relatively low water/rock ratios, whereas C isotopic signatures are inherited from limestones.  相似文献

鄂东黄石地区下三叠统大冶组灰岩中发育了典型的风暴沉积,风暴岩由砾屑灰岩、颗粒灰岩和泥灰岩组成,其中风暴沉积构造包括丘状交错层理、递变层理、砾屑的撕裂构造及水平层理等,不同层位具有不同的风暴沉积构造类型和组合特征。根据风暴沉积的岩石特征、构造类型、规模、组合特点,并结合沉积背景分析,风暴沉积序列可进一步分为深水远源型、过渡型和浅水近源型。大冶组一段风暴沉积具有深水远源特点,沉积环境为水体较深的外陆棚; 大冶组二段风暴沉积具有过渡型特点,沉积环境为向上变浅的内陆棚; 大冶组三、四段风暴沉积具有浅水近源特点,沉积环境为浅水陆棚至滨岸。大冶组沉积序列具有向上变浅的特点,沉积环境由深水陆棚逐渐向滨岸转变。风暴沉积的识别对重建鄂东黄石地区早三叠世古地理具有重要意义。  相似文献
