The authors describe the principles and method used in compiling a map of game animal resources for the Midlands region, the name given to the middle segment of the Soviet Union comprising West Siberia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The results make it possible to recommend the optimal use of game resources and to identify future prospects of the trapping and hunting economy. A fine-resolution leaf area index (LAI) data set over a 150 km × 150 km region in central Kazakhstan is retrieved using Landsat ETM+ imagery and ground-based LAI inferred from hemispherical photography and direct measurements. Regression analysis and geostatistics are applied for developing empirical models of LAI from Landsat ETM+ data. The best accuracy is achieved using a model employing a canonical index that combines all the contributions of individual Landsat ETM+ bands into a single index (R 2 = 0.67; RMSE = 0.21). This model is then applied for mapping LAI at a regional scale.  相似文献

This paper describes an initial assessment of human-induced nighttime lights acquired by the Defence Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Operational Linescan System (OLS) with respect to its applicability in monitoring settlement patterns, population, electricity consumption, gross domestic product (GDP), and carbon dioxide emissions at different spatial levels in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The results revealed the suitability of DMSP-OLS data to detect both urban expansion and contraction over last two decades caused by the new economic situation following the independence of Kazakhstan in 1991. Relationships between DMSP-OLS urban lit area and the socioeconomic parameters were quantified. The DMSP-OLS data proved to be an effective tool in the monitoring of both the spatial and temporal variability of the examined socioeconomic parameters.  相似文献

In this study medium resolution remote sensing data of the AVHRR and MODIS sensors were used for derivation of inland water bodies extents over a period from 1986 till 2012 for the region of Central Asia. Daily near-infrared (NIR) spectra from the AVHRR sensor with 1.1 km spatial resolution and 8-day NIR composites from the MODIS sensor with 250 m spatial resolution for the months April, July and September were used as input data. The methodological approach uses temporal dynamic thresholds for individual data sets, which allows detection of water pixel independent from differing conditions or sensor differences. The individual results are summed up and combined to monthly composites of areal extent of water bodies. The presented water masks for the months April, July, and September were chosen to detect seasonal patterns as well as inter-annual dynamics and show diverse behaviour of static, decreasing, or dynamic water bodies in the study region. The size of the Southern Aral Sea, as the most popular example for an ecologic catastrophe, is decreasing significantly throughout all seasons (R2 0.96 for April; 0.97 for July; 0.96 for September). Same is true for shallow natural lakes in the northern Kazakhstan, exemplary the Tengiz-Korgalzhyn lake system, which have been shrinking in the last two decades due to drier conditions (R2 0.91 for July; 0.90 for September). On the contrary, water reservoirs show high seasonality and are very dynamic within one year in their areal extent with maximum before growing season and minimum after growing season. Furthermore, there are water bodies such as Alakol-Sasykol lake system and natural mountainous lakes which have been stable in their areal extent throughout the entire time period. Validation was performed based on several Landsat images with 30 m resolution and reveals an overall accuracy of 83% for AVHRR and 91% for MODIS monthly water masks. The results should assist for climatological and ecological studies, land and water management, and as input data for different modelling applications.  相似文献

Summary The standard Mollweide projection of the sphere S R 2 which is of type pseudocylindrical — equiareal is generalized to the biaxial ellipsoid E A,B 2 .Within the class of pseudocylindrical mapping equations (1.8) of E A,B 2 (semimajor axis A, semiminor axis B) it is shown by solving the general eigenvalue problem (Tissot analysis) that only equiareal mappings, no conformal mappings exist. The mapping equations (2.1) which generalize those from S R 2 to E A,B 2 lead under the equiareal postulate to a generalized Kepler equation (2.21) which is solved by Newton iteration, for instance (Table 1). Two variants of the ellipsoidal Mollweide projection in particular (2.16), (2.17) versus (2.19), (2.20) are presented which guarantee that parallel circles (coordinate lines of constant ellipsoidal latitude) are mapped onto straight lines in the plane while meridians (coordinate lines of constant ellipsoidal longitude) are mapped onto ellipses of variable axes. The theorem collects the basic results. Six computer graphical examples illustrate the first pseudocylindrical map projection of E A,B 2 of generalized Mollweide type.  相似文献

The spectral analysis of the Earth’s gravitational potential, its first and second derivatives is performed in spherical/ellipsoidal harmonics relative to the International Reference Sphere/International Reference Ellipsoid. The highlights of the diagrammatic approach are: (1) Up- and downward continuation of incremental gravity gradients, (2) Downward continuation of incremental gravity gradients (four tensor-valued harmonic functions) to the incremental gravity potential on the International Reference Figure, (3) Direct conversion of external incremental gravity gradients to geoidal undulation by means of the spherical/ellipsoidal Bruns Formula. The International Reference Ellipsoid was chosen as an equipotential surface in the Somigliana-Pizzetti reference potential field.  相似文献

Dark maps, which are also called dark modes or dark themes, have gained popularity, but their usability has not been experimentally evaluated. This article presents a user experiment that uses eye-tracking to assess the usability of dark and light maps. Here, two widely used web maps, Google Maps and Gaode Maps, are selected at the street and city scales. Eight map-use tasks are designed and cover four operations (identify, compare, rank, and associate) with space-alone and attributes-in-space distinctions. Four pairs of map-use tasks (light-during-the-day, dark-during-the-day, dark-at-night, and light-at-night) are examined from three aspects: effectiveness, efficiency, and cognitive load. The results provide preliminary evidence that the light-during-the-day performance is generally the best in most cases, followed by the dark-at-night performance; the dark-during-the-day performance is the worst in all cases, followed by the light-at-night performance, which suggests that aligning the map design with the environment (i.e., lighting environment) is critical for better communication. The light-during-the-day performance is the best for space-alone tasks, and the dark-at-night performance is the best for attributes-in-space tasks. Our investigation also indicates that dark maps are far less favored in practice, which suggests that users' preference for using the dark mode of public-facing web maps needs to be shaped. Since light and dark maps are associated with photopic and scotopic vision, respectively, the results indicate the need for future studies on how to leverage scotopic vision to design better dark maps.  相似文献

Abstract

The paper discusses the need of a high-level query language to allow analysts, geographers and, in general, non-programmers to easily cross-analyze multi-source VGI created by means of apps, crowd-sourced data from social networks and authoritative geo-referenced data, usually represented as JSON data sets (nowadays, the de facto standard for data exported by social networks). Since an easy to use high-level language for querying and manipulating collections of possibly geo-tagged JSON objects is still unavailable, we propose a truly declarative language, named J-CO-QL, that is based on a well-defined execution model. A plug-in for a GIS permits to visualize geo-tagged data sets stored in a NoSQL database such as MongoDB; furthermore, the same plug-in can be used to write and execute J-CO-QL queries on those databases. The paper introduces the language by exemplifying its operators within a real study case, the aim of which is to understand the mobility of people in the neighborhood of Bergamo city. Cross-analysis of data about transportation networks and VGI from travelers is performed, by means of J-CO-QL language, capable to manipulate and transform, combine and join possibly geo-tagged JSON objects, in order to produce new possibly geo-tagged JSON objects satisfying users’ needs.  相似文献

The estimation of a local empirical covariance function from a set of observations was done in the Faeroe Islands region. Gravity and adjusted Seasat altimeter data relative to theGPM2 spherical harmonic approximation were selected holding one value in celles of1/8°×1/4° covering the area. In order to center the observations they were transformed into a locally best fitting reference system having a semimajor axis1.8 m smaller than the one ofGRS80. The variance of the data then was273 mgal 2 and0.12 m 2 respectively. In the calculations both the space domain method and the frequency domain method were used. Using the space domain method the auto-covariances for gravity anomalies and geoid heights and the cross-covariances between the quantities were estimated. Furthermore an empirical error estimate was derived. Using the frequency domain method the auto-covariances of gridded gravity anomalies was estimated. The gridding procedure was found to have a considerable smoothing effect, but a deconvolution made the results of the two methods to agree. The local covariance function model was represented by a Tscherning/Rapp degree-variance model,A/((i−1)(i−2)(i+24))(R B /R E )2i+2, and the error degree-variances related to the potential coefficient setGPM2. This covariance function was adjusted to fit the empirical values using an iterative least squares inversion procedure adjusting the factor A, the depth to the Bjerhammar sphere(R E R B ), and a scale factor associated with the error degree-variances. Three different combinations of the empirical covariance values were used. The scale factor was not well determined from the gravity anomaly covariance values, and the depth to the Bjerhammar sphere was not well determined from geoid height covariance values only. A combination of the two types of auto-covariance values resulted in a well determined model.  相似文献

 The perspective 4 point (P4P) problem - also called the three-dimensional resection problem - is solved by means of a new algorithm: At first the unknown Cartesian coordinates of the perspective center are computed by means of M?bius barycentric coordinates. Secondly these coordinates are represented in terms of observables, namely space angles in the five-dimensional simplex generated by the unknown point and the four known points. Substitution of M?bius barycentric coordinates leads to the unknown Cartesian coordinates (2.8)–(2.10) of Box 2.2. The unknown distances within the five-dimensional simplex are determined by solving the Grunert equations, namely by forward reduction to one algebraic equation (3.8) of order four and backward linear substitution. Tables 1.–4. contain a numerical example. Finally we give a reference to the solution of the 3 point (P3P) problem, the two-dimensional resection problem, namely to the Ansermet barycentric coordinates initiated by C.F. Gau? (1842), A. Desert locusts (DL) are serious problem during April to August in the deserts and semi-deserts of Republic of Kazakhstan and causing extensive crop damage. There is no institutional and functional mechanism to forecast the habitat of locusts and most of the area remains unnoticed after laying eggs. The key to improve DL forecasting and control depends on the collection and generation of historical database on locusts, weather and habitat from affected region. Looking at the problem, a Spatial Decision Support Systems (DSS) has been developed on ARC/INFO GIS with ergonomic user interface for ingestion and subsequent analysis of locust related information vis-à-vis bio-physical and climatic data acquired from various satellite sensors and hydromet weather server respectively, to identify high frequency breeding areas well before the physiological development is completed. Weather based analytical models for physiological development of DL has been dovetailed with the SDSS for facilitating historic and present data analysis in relation to locust activity. This has augmented the surveying capability and better forecasting.  相似文献

It is clearly the geometrical illustration of the Delambre (1786) solution; for db = b cosec β, dc = c cosec γ and the angle QAR is known, being BAC + β + γ ? 180°. The set of Riesz representers associated with the evaluation functionals (or gravity functionals) related to distinct points P n ,n = 1,…,N, on a two-dimensional surface surrounding the bounding sphere, will be linearly independent. These functions are used to define a new N-dimensional RKHS with kernel (a n >0)
If the points all are located on a concentric sphere with radius R 1>R 0, and form an ε-net covering the sphere, and a n are suitable area elements (depending on N), then this kernel will converge towards an isotropic kernel with degree variances
Consequently, if K N (P,Q) is required to represent an isotropic covariance function of the Earth's gravity potential, COV(P,Q), σ0 n can be selected so that σ n becomes equal to the empirical degree variances. 三峡区域气温变化长期以来受到科研人员和公众的关注。受三峡复杂地形的影响,仅仅基于气象站点观测数据很难准确获取区域气温变化的空间格局,遥感技术则可以通过提供空间连续的地表观测数据来辅助气温变化分析。以广义加性模型GAM (General Additive Model)为插值算法,以高程和夜间地表温度(LSTnight)遥感产品为辅助变量,估算三峡库区1979年—2014年1 km空间分辨率的月气温数据,在此基础上分析了气温变化趋势的时空特征及其与高程和森林覆盖率的关系。研究表明,(1)在插值算法中引入遥感产品LSTnight作为辅助变量可以明显改善气温估算精度,冬春季的改善幅度高于夏秋季;(2)三峡库区年平均气温在1997年后明显上升,但在2003年库区蓄水后无明显变化趋势,几乎所有月(除12月以外)的气温都呈现上升趋势,增温趋势最显著是3月和9月,3月增温主要来自于库区东部山区的贡献,而9月增温主要来自于库区西部平原的贡献;(3)多数月份(除7月、8月、9月以外)的低温上升速度超过高温上升速度,导致区域气温的动态变化范围缩小;(4)三峡库区年平均气温上升速度与高程呈正相关,即海拔越高,升温越快,但在同一海拔高度处,森林覆盖率越高,年均气温上升速度越慢,暗示森林具有抑制增温的作用。  相似文献

Abstract

For the sake of the junior reader we may repeat an old and simple investigation. Let us suppose that the paper on which a map is printed undergoes a regular expansion p in one direction, say the X direction, and another regular expansion q in the Y direction, perpendicular to the former; it is required to know the effect of these expansions on the area of any parcel on the map. Note that, so far as the mathematics are affected, X and Y are not necessarily parallel to the margins of the sheet; we shall take them here as axes of any rectangular coordinate system. The symbols p and q are regarded as ratios, so that 100p and 100p represent the percentage expansions; if the paper contracts instead of expanding, no more is necessary than to change the sign.  相似文献

Ross-Li核驱动模型热点参数化及其校正—以POLDER数据为例   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
半经验、核驱动二向性反射分布函数(BRDF)模型是多角度遥感领域的一个重要模型,其热点效应在应用BRDF反演其它地表参数时有重要作用。本研究针对树冠内部叶片的间隙对热点的影响,对几何光学核的重叠函数进行热点效应的改进,并利用POLDER多角度观测数据集,对改进热点效应后的不同核函数组合模型的最优热点参数进行了确定。通过最小均方根误差(RMSE)筛选出最优热点参数,进一步分析不同模型对热点参数的敏感性和RMSE随热点参数的变化情况。结果表明:(1)该热点参数化方法可用于Ross-Li核驱动模型不同核函数组合的情况,热点校正后的模型相对于原模型很好地改善了对热点反射率的拟合能力;(2)热点参数最优值在几何光学核为LSRC (LiSparseRChen)与LDRC (LiDenseRChen)组成的模型中出现明显差别,C1在LDRC模型中的值远小于LSRC模型,主要是因为LDRC核函数自身较好考虑了树冠尺度下的热点效应,所以该热点参数改进方法起到的补偿作用较小;(3)总体上,同一模型的C1参数比C2参数对热点的变化更敏感。本研究为Ross-Li核驱动模型的热点效应进一步校正及热点参数的取值范围提供了依据,对Ross-Li模型的推广有重要意义,改进热点效应后的模型可用于未来国产多角度卫星的数据处理流程中,以获取加精确的地物热点反射率信息。  相似文献

This paper presents a technique for ingesting ground- and space-based dual-frequency GPS observations into a semi-empirical global electron density model. The NeQuick-2 model is used as the basis for describing the global electron density distribution. This model is mainly driven by the F2 ionosphere layer parameters (i.e. the electron density, N m F2, and the height, h m F2 of the F2 peak), which, in the absence of directly measured values, are computed from the ITU-R database (ITU-R 1997). This database was established using observations collected from 1954 to 1958 by a network of around 150 ionospheric sounders with uneven global coverage. It allows computing monthly median values of N m F2 and h m F2 (intra-month variations are averaged), for low and high solar activity. For intermediate solar activity a linear interpolation must be performed. Ground-based GNSS observations from a global network of ~350 receivers are pre-processed in order to retrieve slant total electron content (sTEC) information, and space-based GPS observations (radio occultation data from the FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC constellation) are pre-processed to retrieve electron density (ED) information. Both, sTEC and ED are ingested into the NeQuick-2 model in order to adapt N m F2 and h m F2, and reduce simultaneously both, the observed minus computed sTEC and ED differences. The first experimental results presented in this paper suggest that the data ingestion technique is self consistent and able to reduce the observed minus computed sTEC and ED differences to ~25–30% of the values computed from the ITU-R database. Although sTEC and ED are both derived from GPS observations, independent algorithm and models are used to compute their values from ground-based GPS observations and space-based FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC radio occultations. This fact encourages us to pursue this research with the aim to improve the results presented here and assess their accuracy in a reliable way.  相似文献

Summary During July of 1985, Aero Service conducted aGPS research project over a900 square km area in the Sacramento Valley of California. The project was partially funded by the California Department of Water Resources and was coordinated with the Sacramento office of U.S.G.S. The survey was designed to evaluate the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability ofMACROMETER II technology, as an alternative to conventional leveling techniques, for the monitoring of land subsidence. Thirty independent baseline vectors were determined between21 pre-existing benchmark locations. The majority of baseline vectors measured approximately10 km in length and were observed in a highly productive mode of three,1-hour observations per day. Six baseline vectors ranging from34 to56 km in length were observed as single day, 3.5 hour observations. In all cases the integer values ofL 1 andL 2 double-differenced phase biases were determined. The relative positions of stations in the network were determined to within1 part per million(1 ppm) in both horizontal coordinates, and about1.6 ppm in the vertical. Operational aspects of the project are described. Project results are examined with emphasis on the added benefits of dual-frequency measurements; the repeatability of interferometric determinations of individual baseline vectors; and the three-dimensional vector closure of the networks as a whole.  相似文献
