The present study was focused to analyze fractures and faults in the Campi Flegrei calderas presently hosting several volcanic edifices, such as lava domes, scoria, and tuff cones. A complex network of fractures and faults affects the volcanic rocks, mostly as planar with highly variable density. Frequently faults appearing as conjugate structures showing normal kinematics often associated with ductile deformation such as drag folds and deflexed layers, suggesting a syn-eruption deformation. However, the most of faults, mainly hosted along the caldera/crater rims, are very steep with dominant normal and secondary reverse movements. The fracture pattern indicates a slight prevalence of NE–SW and NW–SE directions, but N–S and E–W trends also occur. Fractures and faults found in rocks older than 15 ka (Neapolitan Yellow Tuff included), measured in western and eastern sectors of the study area, indicate a rotation of ca. 30° of the main directions among these two sectors. For the faults occurring along the caldera/crater rims, we suggest a kinematic evolution characterized by the reactivation of tensile fractures previously formed in response to both regional extension and locale resurgent dome. Finally, normal faults located in the central sector of caldera, between La Starza and Accademia localities, cutting the youngest volcanic deposits, indicate a constant NNE–SSW extension probably related to the caldera resurgence.  相似文献

This study aims at a new quantification of neotectonic deformation of the central part of the Pannonian Basin. We use terrace levels and associated travertine as well as speleothem data along the Danube River to quantify its incision rate and thus, estimate the amount and rate of uplift at the axis of the Hungarian Mountain Range (HMR).

Several terrace levels and other geomorphic features along the Danube river are indicative for Quaternary uplift of the axial part of the emerging Hungarian Mountain Range. While the correlative terraces are at considerable height at the axis of the HMR, the terraces are gradually dipping below the basin fill of the adjacent lowlands. The correlation of the terrace segments is difficult because of their poor preservation, small size and variable height. The geomorphologic horizons indicate gradual incision of the river throughout the Quaternary during simultaneous deformation. However, no reliable chronological data have been available so far to quantify landscape-forming processes such as uplift, incision or erosion rates.

A reconsideration of existing published data for three consecutive segments of the Danube valley yields incision rates between 0.14 and 0.41 mm/year for the last 360 ky, with the highest value for the area of the Danube Bend. Accordingly, the middle to late Quaternary uplift rate of the axial zone of the HMR exceeded significantly that of the marginal areas. These rates represent an approximation as some quantitative data are still controversial. Our results suggest that formation of the Danube terraces is result of river incision triggered by the uplift of the HMR and modified by periodic climate changes.  相似文献

大兴安岭中部哈拉哈河-绰尔河第四纪火山区分布有34座火山,这些火山总体呈北东向带状分布,火山岩分布面积约400 km2,岩性主要为碱性橄榄玄武岩.根据火山地质特征,结合火山岩K-Ar测年结果,哈拉哈河-绰尔河第四纪火山可进一步划分为早、中、晚更新世和全新世4期.早更新世火山岩,由于被后期火山岩覆盖,主要分布于火山区周边和出露在河谷中.中更新世火山活动最强,不论火山数量(27座)还是熔岩流规模都超过该区第四纪火山的一半以上.晚更新世时期火山活动趋弱,火山活动范围缩小,只局限于小范围区域.全新世火山活动又进入新的高峰期,强爆破式喷发和规模宏大的熔岩流,以及保存完好的熔岩流地貌是全新世火山之特点.  相似文献

江西相山碎斑熔岩因其产状、岩石结构比较特殊,因此在岩石成因、岩相归属及岩体产状方面,长期以来存在多种不同看法。在控矿作用及找矿勘探方向看法上也有不同。作者通过多年野外地质、岩矿鉴定及矿床勘探资料的综合分析,从岩石学、岩石化学、地质产状上论证了相山岩体为一种介于火山与侵入之间的过渡性岩相—地下隐爆火山侵出相碎斑熔岩,具有一个主火山侵出通道和多个侧火山侵出通道的碎斑熔岩复式穹窿,其主、侧火山侵出通道机构及复式穹窿环锥状构造控制了矿田的格局及矿床和富矿体的生成部位。  相似文献

大兴安岭中段柴河地区碎斑熔岩的发现及其意义   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
近年,在大兴安岭柴河地区开展1:5万区调时发现了碎斑熔岩体.区内发育晚侏罗世满克头鄂博组(J3m)、玛尼吐组(J3mn)及白音高老组(J3b)火山岩,广泛分布在二十四道沟、敖尼尔-四道沟及柴河-固里河3个火山喷发盆地中.所发现的固里河、敖尼尔两个碎斑熔岩体,即是白音高老期火山活动晚期侵出的重要组成部分.固里河碎斑熔岩体呈一北东向延伸的椭圆形穹状岩体,可划分出内部相(似斑状)、过渡相(霏细质)和边缘相(玻质)3个相带,主要由流纹质碎斑熔岩构成;敖尼尔碎斑熔岩主体呈近东西向,平面上呈似蘑菇状,可划分出2~3个相带,其岩石类型基本同固里河碎斑熔岩体.它们的发现,对研究大兴安岭地区火山岩的形成、演化及指导找矿等具有重要意义.  相似文献

在已有调查研究的基础上,通过野外地质调查和剖面测量,重点分析了岷江松潘段的漳腊盆地、斗鸡台盆地地貌特征、第四纪沉积物类型、物质成分、空间分布等特征,并系统测量和研究了松潘段岷江干流及其支流的河流阶地特征。研究表明,新构造运动控制了松潘段第四纪盆地的形态和地貌演化过程,漳腊盆地和斗鸡台盆地形成于中新世末至上新世初,西侧控盆断裂为东倾正断层,东侧为西倾逆断层,盆地为断块发生西降东升的翘板式断块运动过程中形成的,称之为"翘板式箕状盆地"。松潘段岷江河谷地貌呈现出宽谷和窄谷交替出现的特点,岷江干流及其支流中发育多处湖相地层,沉积特征表现为堰塞湖。岷江上游松潘段最多发育6级阶地,以侵蚀阶地和堆积阶地为主,主要形成于中更新世晚期—全新世时期。阶地级数具有分段性特点,不同区段阶地阶面宽窄不一,受区内新构造活动控制明显。岷江上游新构造运动表现为南北条带性和东西向差异掀斜抬升的特点,红桥关以上整体为构造隆升区,至少具有3次构造隆升,岷江上游斗鸡台盆地构造隆升强度整体上大于漳腊盆地。在尕米寺地区可能发生了6次构造抬升,红桥关一带构造抬升明显要强于漳腊盆地。  相似文献

The paper discusses the Quaternary evolution of the Danube and Tisza rivers and their main tributaries in the context of evolution of the entire Pannonian Basin, which is Europe's largest intramontane basin, within the Alp–Carpathian orogen. The palaeo-drainage reconstruction of the Pannonian Basin for the pre-Quaternary period is outlined in connection with the gradual regression of Lake Pannon since the Late Miocene. Deltas of rivers that entered the basin from the northwest and northeast were gradually transformed into extended alluvial plains; thus, the earliest possible ancestor of the Danube coming southeastwards from the Alps could be as old as Late Miocene. By the Pliocene the whole Lake Pannon was infilled. The former extensional basin formation was replaced by a compresional stress field, which resulted in an uplift of the marginal flanks and late-stage subsidence anomalies. The increasing relief led to the formation of the Quaternary drainage pattern. The actively subsiding young basins were filled by fluvial sediments, transported by the Danube and Tisza river systems from the uplifting mountains. Between the subsiding regions of the Little and Great Plains, the Danube has formed an antecedent valley with terrace staircases between the uplifting sections of the Transdanubian Range and the North Midmountains. The formation of the terraces is attributed to periodic climate changes during the Pleistocene combined with differences in the uplift rate. The paper gives a complex overview of the classical chronology of the six terraces based on various data sources: mostly dating of loess/paleosol sequences, travertines, aeolian sand, and tephra strata overlying the fluvial sediments, complemented by scattered vertebrate faunal data and archaeological evidence directly from the terrace sediments.The Quaternary drainage pattern evolution of the Great Plain, with a strong tectonic control, is discussed in detail. Rivers originating from the uplifting marginal areas were drawn towards the subsiding depressions which served as local base level. Changes in subsidence rates in space and time throughout the Quaternary resulted in the evolution of a complex drainage pattern. A special emphasis is placed on the Late Pleistocene–Holocene development of the Middle–Tisza region and the Körös basin, where the Berettyó–Körös Rivers form an eastern tributary system of the Tisza River. A comparative evaluation of these two areas is especially relevant, as they provide insights into large-scale Late Pleistocene avulsion of the Tisza River. OSL dating, complemented with inferred transport directions determined from heavy mineral analysis of fluvial sediments in the Körös basin, has revealed an ancient large meandering river system that can be identified with the palaeo-Tisza, which was flowing along a tectonically controlled depression during the Late Pleniglacial. Successions in the Middle Tisza region have allowed differentiation between the older channels of the palaeo-Bodrog River and the Sajó–Hernád alluvial fan and the younger meander belts of the new course of the Tisza. In the Tisza system, changes in river style (braided to various scales of meandering) show correspondence to millennial-scale climate changes of the last 25 ka, while in the Körös basin the effects of tectonics are overprinted onto the regional climatic signals.  相似文献

赣东南火山岩区主要发育侏罗纪中、晚世中酸性火山碎屑岩-火山熔岩,其中以爆溢相产出的流纹质晶屑凝灰溶岩分布最广;火山构造主要发育破火山口、岩穹、隐爆角砾岩筒等构造,且与成矿关系;与成矿关系密切的次火山岩广泛发育。区内主要矿化类型为斑岩型、(次火山)隐爆层间裂隙带型、蚀变花岗岩型、隐爆角砾岩型,矿床成因均为与火山活动期后次火山(隐爆)活动有关的岩浆期后高-中温热液交代-充填型矿床。同时,矿床类型上具相互穿插性,隐爆层间裂隙带型、隐爆角砾型等矿床类型往往可以看作是斑岩型矿床的延伸;矿床空间分布上往往具有“一体多型”的特征。新矿化类型是赣南中生代火山岩找矿的重要方向。  相似文献

大兴安岭北段诺敏河第四纪火山24座,分布于诺敏河及其支流毕拉河和甘河支流奎勒河,火山岩分布面积约600km2。诺敏河火山岩均属于钾质系列火山岩(K2O含量2%~4%,且K2O>Na2O-2%),类似于邻区五大连池-科洛钾质火山岩,具有来自类似的富钾地幔源区。但诺敏河火山岩的K2O含量明显低于五大连池-科洛火山岩的K2O含量(一般4%~6%)。东北地区和内蒙东部处于中亚造山带东段,从古生代到新生代,多重构造-岩浆活动导致火山岩源区地球化学非均一性和火山岩的多样性。根据本文提出的火山岩K-Ar年龄(2.3~0.128Ma)及火山地质特征,可将诺敏河第四纪火山岩分为四期。早期(早更新世)火山活动主要沿诺敏河和奎勒河流域分布,火山产物多被晚期沉积物或火山产物所覆盖。中更新世保留的火山锥体及熔岩流是诺敏河第四纪火山产物的主体,表明是第四纪火山活动的高潮期。晚更新世-全新世火山活动限于毕拉河流域,典型的四方山火山和马鞍山火山是该时期火山活动的代表作,保留了较完好的火山地质地貌特征。从火山产物的时空展布,推测诺敏河第四纪火山活动有从东向西发展的趋势。  相似文献

The geological development of the Fogo island volcano commenced in the early Quaternary, and much later during the Last Glacial stage this involved a mega‐scale lateral collapse of the former edifice. This later event created a large caldera‐like landform open to the east, the floor of which is known as the Chã, and subsequently within this a strato‐volcanic cone has grown. The last phase of volcanic activity started in late 2014 and persisted for 77 days. It had a devastating impact on the lives of the 1000 plus people who were living within the ‘caldera’, since two large villages and a smaller one were each totally destroyed in a matter of days by the advancing lavas. In addition, large areas of cultivated land, upon which the inhabitants were dependent for their livelihood, were enveloped by lava. The eruption proved to be of a greater magnitude than the immediately preceding one of 1995, when a mass evacuation was necessary but as only a few buildings were affected, resettlement followed. Unfortunately the much greater devastation to the human environment makes it doubtful whether any significant resettlement will be possible after the 2014–2015 event.  相似文献

北天山山前几条主要河流普遍发育河谷阶地。安集海河发育6~8级阶地,通过年代测定及区域对比,可得出安集海河阶地形成于中更新世晚期一晚更新世早期(约12~14万年左右)。第四纪以来构造活动及气候变化控制着河流下切和侧蚀作用的进行,安集海河阶地的形成和发育明显受第四纪晚期构造活动和气候变化等因素的影响。  相似文献

In Japan there are about one hundred geothermal areas which occur in the following geological units: green-tuff areas including sedimentary basins, Neogene plutonic rock areas, Pliocene—Quaternary sedimentary basins and Quaternary volcanic areas.Geochemical exploration for geothermal energy in the Onikobe basin in the vicinity of the Narugo geothermal area, Miyagi Prefecture, was carried out by the Geochemical Exploration Research Group of MMIJ.The Onikobe basin is regarded as a caldera and is covered with lake deposits composed of conglomerate, sandstone, mudstone, dacitic tuff and andesitic tuff breccia and lava flow.In the southern part of the basin a Quaternary dacitic volcano and two fumaroles occur. Hotsprings also issue from the lake deposits in the southwestern part of the basin.The tectonic line, including Narugo and Onikobe geothermal areas, extends into the geothermal areas in Ogachi region, Akita Prefecture. Geothermal manifestations in this area can be divided into three groups: acid type hot springs, named Kawarage, containing hydrochloric acid and neutral to alkaline type hot springs called Oyasu, Ohyu and Takanoyu. Their host rocks are green-tuff and lake deposits of the basin in the green-tuff areas. These geothermal areas were also surveyed by the research group of MMIJ.  相似文献

A combined geochronological and structural analysis of the Miocene Negra Muerta Caldera was designed to better understand caldera formation associated with prominent faults on the central Andean plateau. Rb–Sr ages of the caldera outflow facies indicate that caldera formation occurred in two volcano-tectonic episodes. The first episode commenced with explosive eruption of the 9.0±0.1 Ma andesitic Acay Ignimbrite followed by a period of volcanic quiescence and moderate tectonic activity. Dominant volcanic and tectonic activity occurred during the second episode, which is bracketed by eruption of the 7.6±0.1 Ma rhyolitic Toba 1 Ignimbrite and effusive discharge of the 7.3±0.1 Ma rhyodacitic to andesitic lava flows. Structural relationships between rocks of the Negra Muerta Volcanic Complex and collapse-induced normal faults, notably NE-striking normal faults, agree with simultaneous volcanic activity and floor subsidence of the caldera during the second episode. Floor subsidence was achieved by tilting on an outward dipping reverse fault to the northwest of the caldera floor around a hinge zone located south of the caldera floor. This induced horizontal extension of the caldera floor and was accomplished by fragmentation of, and intrusion of dikes into, the floor. Collapse-induced and post-collapse fault populations of the caldera do not differ significantly in the directions of their axes of maximum extension and are in this respect kinematically compatible with left-lateral slip on the nearby Olacapato-El Toro Fault Zone. This furnishes evidence for a kinematic control by prominent faults on the formation of collapse calderas in the central Andes. The structural analysis of the Negra Muerta Caldera shows that collapse calderas can serve as deformation markers that contribute in elucidating the regional kinematic regime and the time of activity of prominent dislocations genetically related to collapse calderas.  相似文献

腾冲火山群位于我国云南省西部和缅甸交界处的腾冲县境内,是我国著名的第四纪火山群,既有黑空山、打鹰山、马鞍山等一系列晚第四纪新期火山,也有早更新世以来有过喷发活动的大六冲、余家大山、来凤山等老火山。其中,位于腾冲火山区中东部的大六冲山势高峻,其顶峰是本区内的最高峰。野外地质调查发现,大六冲山体由一系列巨厚层爆发相火山碎屑堆积物和少量溢流相熔岩类岩石构成,喷发物类型极其丰富。在大六冲最高峰以南约100m处,首次发现存在着一个直径超百米的火山通道,可能是区内早期火山喷发的主通道,火山颈、熔岩穹丘、岩墙、爆发相与溢出相堆积物构成了大六冲完整的火山机构,在其周边多处地方还发现了因山体岩石破碎后形成的垮塌和滑坡堆积物。大六冲火山机构及其滑塌物的发现,不仅可以解释腾冲火山区大范围分布的火山碎屑岩的来源,也为防治以后类似大规模喷发可能造成的次生地质灾害提供了理想的研究样本和未来灾害预警。  相似文献

辉腾锡勒火山群位于内蒙古中部卓资县、察哈尔右翼中旗和后旗交界处的高山草原区。处于中国东部大同-阿尔山-诺敏河第四纪火山喷发带南段。火山群坐落在太古宙变质岩系、二叠纪花岗岩和新近纪汉诺坝玄武岩之上。平面上呈低洼的菱形台地,四周为山地,总面积约260km2。因上覆在汉诺坝玄武岩台地之上,故以往将其误归为新近纪汉诺坝玄武岩。火山群内发育近百座火山,大多数火山形貌保存基本完整。火山产物主要为一套碱性橄榄玄武岩,次为不同成因的火山碎屑物(岩)。碱性玄武岩覆盖在晚更新世坡积物和黄土之上。火山活动的时代主体为晚更新世,可进一步分为早、中、晚三期。早期为裂隙-中心式喷发,火口已剥蚀殆尽;中期主要形成"地池式"和玛珥式火山,火山形貌较完整,火口呈特征的圆形或椭圆形,大部分积水成湖,当地习称"九十九眼泉"或"海子"。晚期以熔浆的溢流为主,形成结构完整的盾片状火山。火山活动经历了沿裂隙的喷溢到中心式弱爆发、溢流-射汽岩浆爆发-溢流再到溅落堆积的演化过程。辉腾锡勒火山群是在新近纪汉诺坝玄武岩台地上新解体确定的第四纪火山群,这为研究蒙古高原南部地壳深部结构及其活动性提供了又一天然窗口,对了解新构造活动、环境及灾害预警研究都具有重要的理论和实际意义。  相似文献

The Las Canadas Caldera corresponds to a volcanic caldera formed after a long period of explosive activity. The structural and lithological variations which can be observed in the caldera wall make clear the complexity of the original Las Canadas Edifice in which different eruptive centres existed. The stratigraphic and structural reconstruction of the Las Canadas Caldera indicates that the Diego Hernández wall, located at the eastern side of the caldera wall, comprises the youngest pre-caldera deposits. Determination of their K-Ar ages has provided the maximum age for the formation of the Las Canadas caldera. The results are internally consistent with stratigraphic relationships and allow two pre-caldera volcanic cycles in the Diego Hernández wall to be differentiated in accordance with geological evidence. The first cycle shows imprecise age limits. The second cycle ranges from 0.35 to 0.17 Ma. This upper pre-caldera age suggests that the Las Canadas caldera and the Teide-Pico Viejo were formed more recently than was previously assumed.  相似文献

Although Barren Island (Andaman Sea, Indian Ocean) witnessed several volcanic eruptions during historic times, the eruptions that led to the formation of this volcanic island occurred mainly during prehistoric times. It is still active and currently in the fumarolic stage. Its volcanic evolution appears to be characterized by a constructive phase with the piling up of lava flows and scoria deposits and Strombolian activities, followed by a sudden collapse of the main cone. Deposits of a possible caldera-forming eruption were not recognized earlier. After a period of peri-calderic hydromagmatic activity, whose deposits presently mantle inner and outer caldera walls, a new phase of intracalderic Vulcanian activities took place. A prominent dyke in the SE inner side of the caldera wall was recognized. Petrographically the lava flows and dyke are similar but they differ in their chemical composition (viz., SiO2, MgO, Ni, Cr) significantly. Similarity in major, minor and trace element composition (viz., K/La, K/Nb, K/Rb, K/Ti ratios) of these rocks together with Chondrite normalized trace element (Rb, Ba, Sr, P, Zr, Ti and Nb) and REE (La, Ce, Nd and Y) patterns of the Barren Island prehistoric lava flows and dyke and low-K lavas of Sunda Arc indicates that Barren Island must have evolved from a source similar to that of Sunda Arc lavas during the Quaternary Period.  相似文献

火山岩油气藏已成为我国东部中、新生代陆内裂谷盆地内一种重要的油气藏类型。松辽盆地北部徐家围子断陷营城组火山岩中形成大规模气藏,不同火山岩相对油气的储集性差异很大,因此探究断陷内火山机构类型和喷发模式成为天然气勘探开发的基础。徐家围子断陷发育中酸性火山岩,识别出层状火山、熔岩穹隆、破火山口等3种主要火山机构赋存类型。受区域垂向和斜向两期拉张作用控制,在断裂上盘、下盘和断裂带,火山机构分别以不同形式展布:断裂下盘的掀斜肩部火山机构发育、断裂带火山机构串珠状叠置、断裂上盘火山爆发强烈并形成大型徐东破火山口。徐东破火山口的形成说明岩浆侵位于地壳底部,形成扁平状的岩浆房。岩浆垂直上升喷发或沿断裂喷发,形成徐家围子断陷中心式-裂隙式火山喷发模式。  相似文献

Topography of the terraced Danube Bend area indicates fast incision of the Danube River, which was followed by its tributaries dissecting deeply the former terrace levels. These surfaces are vertically bended along the river course, indicating antecedent incision of the Danube into the SW–NE trending Hungarian Mountain Range (HMR). Timing and rate of the incision of the Danube into the HMR and consequently, the rate of vertical motions have remained unresolved so far. This study aims at quantifying the landscape evolution and neotectonic deformation of the central part of the HMR. We used terrace levels along the antecedent section of the Danube River to constrain its incision rate, which is a measure for the uplift rate of the HMR.

Here we use 3He, a terrestrial in situ produced cosmogenic nuclide (TCN), to date uplifted geomorphologic levels along in the Danube Bend gorge. This method, first applied in the Carpathian–Pannonian system in the framework of present study, proved to be suitable for the quantification of landscape evolution in this area. Our 3He exposure age data suggest a maximum incision rate of 2.7 ± 0.1 mm/y for the last 170 ky. Considering likely effect of erosion a more conservative value of 1.6 mm/y for the last 270 ky, was obtained. Both rates are significantly higher than the incision rate of 0.41 mm/y of the Danube derived from previous geologic and geomorphic data for the last 360 ky. The formation of the terrace levels in the Danube Bend probably occurred during the last two glacial cycles (OIS 1–8). According to the exposure age data, there is no direct relationship between the terrace formation and climate in the Danube Bend. Incision of the Danube appears to be connected to the uplift of the HMR, obtained incision rate values can be taken as valid approximations of the uplift rate in the Danube Bend area.  相似文献
