大城市边缘区中小城市的发展具有其特殊性,特殊的区位和特殊的功能定位决定它必须与大城市协调发展。当前"撤县设区"、"撤市设区"发展大城市,加快城市化进程成为我国当今城市发展的一个主导趋势。行政区划调整使城市总体发展战略发生调整,其边缘区的发展条件、发展背景发生了变化,其发展战略也相应要调整。本文通过揭示新的背景下广州市边缘区增城市的城市产业发展、空间发展、生态保护、基础设施布局等方面的战略取向,探讨了大城市边缘区可持续发展的道路。 相似文献

A crucial characteristic of federal systems is the distribution of regulatory power between the states and the national government. Four factors affect the distribution of powers in the U.S.: the geographic scope of issues, institutional competence at state and national levels, protection of democratic values, and economies of administration. Local or scattered occurrences of a problem, national governmental rigidity, desire for extensive public participation, spatial variation in regulatory preferences, and diseconomies of scale in administration favor state regulation. Abstract Field work is an important but often neglected facet of a sound undergraduate geography training program. Literature, both geographic and nongeographic, offers very few practical suggestions or realistic approaches that can be utilized in some way by geography departments organizing undergraduate field programs. This article eliminates a hiatus in the literature for it analyzes field work, explores proven methods of undergraduate field training, and describes the importance of the selection of a study area and field camp site. It stresses the value of careful organization, and problems of topic selection and field data generation, and provides a detailed model, a proven schedule, concomitantly with a sound approach to field work. The two-week field course with deferred papers is an immediate, realistic, and inexpensive solution to the problem of undergraduate field work. 相似文献

Low temperature geothermal energy requires that precedence for development be given land use characteristics in communities of proposed utilization. A procedure which uses Scottsdale, Arizona as the model involves overlaying maps of user energy density, parcel ownership, parcel size, parcel vacancy, and zoning. An analysis of existing geochemical and geological data and cost/benefit followed and allowed further refinement. Abstract This exercise has been used successfully by more than a thousand students is an introductory college course, and it probably could be equally successful with high school students. Census tract data are used in a simulated research project. Quality of housing in the dependent variable (whose distribution we wish to “explain”), with owner-occupancy and age of housing as independent (or “explanatory”) variables. The distribution of the three variables is compared visually (by maps) and statistically (by scattergrams). A regression line is placed on the better scattergram, and residual values are mapped to provide a basis for the formulation of better working hypotheses. 相似文献
