运用关联规则和人工神经网络数据挖掘方法对GIS专业毕业生成绩进行数据挖掘,用SQL Server数据挖掘服务建立毕业设计成绩与各类课程、GIS专业课程与毕业设计成绩、GIS专业实习课程与毕业设计成绩等的数据挖掘模型,将数据挖掘结果应用于GIS专业培养方案的制订中。结果表明,GIS专业毕业生的成绩受理科类课程、计算机类课程的影响较大;GIS专业毕业生成绩受遥感数字图像处理、GIS设计与开发课程设计等实践类课程的影响较大。在新一轮的专业培养方案的修订中增加了计算机类课程、遥感数字图像处理与GIS设计、开发课程的实习学时。  相似文献

Off-the-shelf GIS toolboxes are inadequate for pedagogic purposes. Urban World , an Arc View application, attempts to address this shortcoming by including special features designed to foster student progress towards a better understanding of urban environments. This paper provides context for the Urban World system in an active, authentic learning environment for students of urban geography and planning at junior and senior levels in undergraduate curricula at universities in the United States. The paper describes the rationale for, and implementation of, several components of Urban World : a special graphid user interface; productivity tools for facilitating the acquisition of practical skills of mapping and spatial analysis; tools for accessing, undertaking, and submitting homework assignments in a paper-less class; and various devices for assisting students to undertake spatial reasoning. GIS are Seen as an enabling technology for improving understanding by means of engaging students in empirical analysis. Spatial problem solvers and decision makers reach sound conclusions by employing reasoning skills applied to well-formed databases; scientific research makcs progress with sound reasoning of many types. The effective teaching and learning about the geography of our world requires a strong foundation of spatid reasoning.  相似文献

Abstract

A major concept in urban geography deals with determining the spheres of influence for urban centers. This paper describes an instructional module used in two different geography courses showing students how a model might be developed to measure spheres of influence for multiple urban centers within a given region. A geographic information system (GIS) is employed throughout the development of the model. This module is incorporated into a traditional undergraduate urban geography course and a beginning GIS course. The software packages used are MapViewer and Grapher. The region is the Mississippi Lowlands with five urban centers: New Orlenas, Memphis, Little Rock, Jackson, and Baton Rouge. Keywords: GIS, spheres of influence, MapViewer, urban geography.  相似文献

课程之间具有知识的前后铺垫和衔接关系,这种在开设时间上的先后关系称为课程拓扑排序关系。GIS本科专业在地理、遥感、计算机、地图与测绘等系列主干课程体系上呈现了很强的课程拓扑排序关系。随各院校GIS本科专业的发展背景不一样,这些主干课程系列的拓扑体系差别较大。在研究了目前国内主要高校的课程体系设置后,探讨了各种学科发展背景下的GIS本科专业主干课程相互之间的拓扑排序关系。研究成果为GIS学科发展及人才培养提供了一定的借鉴。  相似文献

在对我国高校GIS专业和教育现状初步调查的基础上,对当前我国GIS人才培养中面临的若干重要问题进行了探讨。首先,根据GIS学科特点和人才条件,提出GIS人才应具备的3大素质特征,并设计了相应的课程设置框架;其次,根据世界高教发展趋势,指出21世纪高校GIS人才的3类不同培养目标及其相应的培养模式,力求与国际GIS教育相衔接;第三,为有效提高教学质量,就当前GIS教育面临改革的具体任务提出了意见等。  相似文献

随着现代遥感技术和计算机信息处理技术的发展,RS、GIS技术为公路工程可行性分析及线路的比较选优提供了有力工具,对不良地质体的定位分析、预报提供了技术支撑。本文提出了基于RS、GIS的公路工程地质勘察的一整套工作程序和技术路线,并在此基础上完成空间分析演示和专题制图,工程可行性分析及评价取得了很好的技术效果和良好的经济效益。该研究对自然条件恶劣的地区更具现实意义。  相似文献

从操作对象、数据管理、分析模型、系统功能、GIS应用等五方面对地理信息系统所具有的或所表现出的地理学特性作了初步的探讨,认为:地理学是GIS的理论依托,地理学特性、地理区域分析方法、地理思维方式渗透在GIS的整个工作流程中,成为GIS区别于其他信息系统的本质特征,而计算机等相关技术作为实现GIS功能的技术支持。不应该成为GIS的理论根本。GIS是地理科学体系的重要组成部分,是现代地理研究的重要手段和工具,具有显著的地理性,GIS专业学生应当重视地理学理论的学习。  相似文献

简要介绍了当前国内房地产现状、存在的问题,以及房地产市场信息系统(Real Estate Market Information System,以下简称REMIS)当前所处的发展背景,指出房产GIS在标准和应用上存在的一些问题。对房地产管理和REMIS对GIS的需求情况进行了分析。根据需求分析作者提出了GIS技术在REMIS中的几种应用模式,并指出基于楼盘表为核心的GIS应用模式将是未来房产GIS发展的方向。针对房产GIS应用的不同模式采用的几种关键技术也做了相应描述。  相似文献

商用GIS软件在GIS教学中的应用削弱了学生对原理和算法的认知和探索,有必要采用开源GIS体系进行代替。本文针对GIS软件开发系列课程的教学目标和知识点,对开源GIS软件体系进行了分类,并从许可协议、开发模式等方面提出了一套涉及GIS软件底层开发、桌面端开发、WebGIS开发和移动GIS开发的开源解决方案。通过教学实践证明,本文提出的开源解决方案能够显著提升学生的GIS软件开发技能。  相似文献

This paper examines the status of efforts to implement GIS in Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) education in the United States. Factors promoting and impeding the growth and diffusion of GIS are identified and suggestions for action on the part of higher education GIS specialists are made. In the United States more science teachers have adopted GIS geography/social studies teachers for several reasons. These include science teacher preservice preparation and the essentially different natures of the respective disciplines. Preservice education and teachers' perceptions of geography emerge as key factors influencing the diffusion of GIS in K-12 classrooms. The need for on cognition and GIS before effective curricula and instruction can be developed is emphasized. Three strategies directed at higher education GIS specialists may help implement this eduational innovation. They are: (1) modelling GIS instruction in content classes; (2) including GIS in preservice preparation classes; and (3) outreach to professors who tach educational technology to educate than regarding GIS. The addendum by Paul Heinrich which follows this paper compares US and UK experiences in the diffusion of GIS in elementary and secondary schools.  相似文献

地理信息系统是地理信息系统本科专业的专业基础课程,也是相关专业的选修课,其教学内容由理论授课部分与实验教学部分组成,目前的实验教学部分普遍采用上机实验的方式,目的是深化理解和认识地理信息系统基本理论,并加强专业基本技能的培养,但由于存在教学方式单一、实验与实践的脱节、针对性不强以及学生自主性与积极性低等问题,使得实验教学未能达到应有的效果,根据作者多年教学实践,分析了实验教学中存在的问题及其产生的根源,为地理信息系统课程实验教学切实有效地开展提供了新的方法和思路。  相似文献

Within an increasingly competitive job market, academic internships have become an important source of work experience for students with career interests involving geographic information systems (GIS) and related geospatial technologies. However, while GIS internships offer benefits to employers and students, their structure and objectives may be viewed differently across stakeholder groups such as private industry, government, and academia. In this article we evaluate how GIS internships are valued and perceived by employers, educators, and the interns themselves using quantitative and qualitative measures collected though web‐based surveys and semi‐structured telephone interviews. Data analysis helped us determine the relative importance of technical and non‐technical skills needed by students in preparation for GIS internships. Our findings reveal relatively few differences in scores assigned to technical and non‐technical skills when comparing employer and educator ratings. Educator ratings were higher for nearly all technical and non‐technical skills. In comparison, employers placed greater emphasis on technical skills involving data entry/manipulation and non‐technical skills such as flexibility/adaptability. The survey also revealed differences in employer and educator perceptions of internship goals and administration. Telephone surveys with former interns supplemented information from employer and educator surveys in developing “best practices” that may be useful in the design and administration of GIS internships.  相似文献

随着地理信息知识结构的不断发展,社会人才需求呈现多样性,传统的本科教学方式不足以应对高水平的科研和工作要求,更科学高效的本科培养方案亟待提出。为响应以“成人”统领“成才”的教学指导方针,将GIS的基础理念、专业知识和方法技术贯彻到本科生的教学之中,本文提出GIS本科教育3个创新思想——开放、开源与开发,创建了一套“多学科、多方法、多技巧”的立体式培养方案,结合地理信息科学的专业特点在现有教学方式的基础上进行了突破性的设想和改革,将GIS的本科教学变成一种知识领域更加全面、方法技术更加前沿、实践方式更加多样的专业人才培养模式。该教学理念有利于本科学生充分认识所学知识,在理论基础的支持上能更快速地提升空间思维素养和增强实践开发能力,是GIS本科教育方法上的有益探索。  相似文献

在高等教育日益平民化、大众化的背景下,如何实现高素质创新型应用人才的培养,如何解决通识人才与专业应用人才培养的矛盾,是高等教育改革中的重要课题.通过对地理、测绘、师范和农林院校地理信息类专业人才培养和课程设置状况的调研,结合本校发展实际,提出了新时期农林院校地理信息类专业人才培养的应用型培养思路,特别是在培养目标、课程设置、实践教学与毕业设计、学科竞赛等方面进行了介绍.使农林院校地理信息类的毕业生能满足应用型、创新型人才培养的社会需要.提出了以缩短与应用生产单位的差距为目标,以培养服务于三农的应用型人才为导向,并在非课程教学环节中,以“阶梯层次式”竞赛模式对重点学生进行专项竞赛培养的的建议.  相似文献

Introductory courses in Geographic Information Science (GIS) expose students to the concepts and practices necessary for future academic and professional use of GIS tools. Traditional GIS courses balance lectures in the theories of GIS with pre‐built and pre‐packaged lab activities to learn the practices of GIS. This article presents a case study of an experimental introductory course in which students conducted novel, independent project‐based group research under the supervision of graduate or advanced undergraduate students enrolled in the course, culminating in a class presentation and publication quality paper. Surveys and interviews indicated that students reacted more positively to project‐based group research than to traditional activities. Students felt the projects better prepared them for ‘real world’ applications of GIS, and recommend project‐based group research in other GIS coursework. Additionally, our findings indicate that students appreciate interactions with peers of varying skill levels and experiences, as these broaden their capabilities to work with other GIS users.  相似文献

Popular and professional interest in maps and map-making has never been greater. Despite this engagement, introductory skills courses in “map use” have largely disappeared in undergraduate geography and cartography programs at US universities, with research indicating that both map-use course enrollments and the existence of such courses themselves are on the decline. While the map-use course and its content may have been replaced by, repackaged as, or incorporated into an integrated geographical information systems-cartography–remote sensing foundations course, how do we ensure that an understanding of maps and their unique characteristics is not lost in the mix? This essay describes a recent course redesign experience incorporating information literacy, technology fluency, and spatial thinking principles to maintain map-use concepts, skills, and appreciation in an introductory geographic information science and technology (GIS&T) foundations course, meeting both GIS&T and general education curricular goals.  相似文献

With the increasing demands for geospatial analytics in industry and academia, the need for Geographic Information Systems/Science (GIS) education is on the rise. A growing number of departments in geography have launched or expanded their GIS graduate programs. However, the factors influencing students choosing GIS programs have not been examined yet. In this study, we looked at Chinese students applying for overseas GIS programs and examined factors influencing their decision-making. We distributed the survey in GISphere, one of the largest GIS international student communities, and 84 valid questionnaires were returned. We analyzed the spatial and demographic patterns of Chinese students applying for overseas GIS programs. We identify five main factors that affect their choices of GIS programs: (1) education quality and awareness, (2) physical, social, and political environments, (3) improved employment prospects, (4) personal recommendations, and (5) the application process. Our study offers implications for the development of GIS graduate programs. We anticipate that the conclusions drawn from this research will benefit and advance geography and GIS education globally.  相似文献
