The gravimetric parameters of the gravity pole tide are the amplitude factor δ, which is the ratio of gravity variations induced by polar motion for a real Earth to variations computed for a rigid one, and the phase difference κ between the observed and the rigid gravity pole tide. They can be estimated from the records of superconducting gravimeters (SGs). However, they are affected by the loading effect of the ocean pole tide. Recent results from TOPEX/Poseidon (TP) altimeter confirm that the ocean pole tide has a self-consistent equilibrium response. Accordingly, we calculate the gravity loading effects as well as their influence on the gravimetric parameters of gravity pole tide at all the 26 SG stations in the world on the assumption of a self-consistent equilibrium ocean pole tide model. The gravity loading effect is evaluated between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 2006. Numerical results show that the amplitude of the gravity loading effect reaches 10−9 m s−2, which is larger than the accuracy (10−10 m s−2) of a SG. The gravimetric factor δ is 1% larger at all SG stations. Then, the contribution of a self-consistent ocean pole tide to the pole tide gravimetric parameters cannot be ignored as it exceeds the current accuracy of the estimation of the pole tide gravity factors. For the nine stations studied in Ducarme et al. [Ducarme, B., Venedikov, A.P., Arnoso, J., et al., 2006. Global analysis of the GGP superconducting gravimeters network for the estimation of the pole tide gravimetric amplitude factor. J. Geodyn. 41, 334–344.], the mean of the modeled tidal factors δm = 1.1813 agrees very well with the result of a global analysis δCH = 1.1816 ± 0.0047 in that paper. On the other hand, the modeled phase difference κm varies from −0.273° to 0.351°. Comparing to the two main periods of the gravity pole tide, annual period and Chandler period, κm is too small to be considered. Therefore, The computed time difference κL induced by a self-consistent ocean pole tide produces a negligible effect on κm. It confirms the results of Ducarme et al., 2006, where no convincing time difference was found in the SG records.  相似文献

Tiltmeter data from an array of three boreholes at the Charlevoix observatory in the Charlevoix seismic region of Que´bec have been analysed for evidence of tectonically related signals. The secular tilt is dominated by water table induced effects which can be substantially removed by linear regression of the water level on the tilt. Short-term (days to months) anomalies are shown to be detectable at the 0.3 μrad to 1 μrad level depending on the depth of the measurement. Long-term changes in the linear drift as small as 0.1 μrad/yr would be detectable in all of the boreholes.Large spatial anomalies in the mean tidal admittance among boreholes preclude its use in refining either models of the regional crustal structure or the adjacent marine tide distribution. Strongly coherent time variations in the tidal admittance among the observations of all the major tidal constituents are shown to be generated by corresponding variations in marine tidal loading in the St. Lawrence estuary. Diurnal band variations are closely correlated with the tide gauge data. The semi-diurnal constituents show a weaker correlation because of the complex spatial pattern within the estuary of time variations in this band. Inspection of the residual admittance variations for the M2 and O1 constituents demonstrates that the thresholds for detecting tectonic tidal tilt anomalies are ±2% and ±5–8%, respectively. The level of earthquake activity in the Charlevoix seismic zone throughout the period of the borehole tiltmeter experiment was sufficiently low that no significant tilt anomalies were expected or were undeniably detected.  相似文献

A global experimental model for gravity tides of the Earth   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The long-term, continuous and high-quality tidal gravity data, recorded with the superconducting gravimeters (SGs) at 19 stations in the Global Geodynamics Project (GGP), were simultaneously used to investigate the global pattern of the tidal gravity variations. The atmospheric effects were removed from the gravity observations by using the simultaneous pressure records at the stations. A total of six global co-tidal models were employed to remove the loading effects of oceanic tides. The resonance parameters of the Earth's free core nutation (FCN), as well as the spheroidal constant components in the gravimetric factors of waves O1 and M2, were accurately retrieved. As a result, a global experimental model for gravity tides (GEMGT) was developed, considering the nearly diurnal resonance and the latitude-dependence of the gravimetric amplitude factors. The final results indicate that the mean discrepancy of the four main tidal waves (i.e. O1, K1, M2 and S2) between the GEMGT and SG observations is less than 0.2% on average. The GEMGT is in good agreement with the theoretical models based on the inelastic non-hydrostatic equilibrium Earth models [Dehant, V., Defraigne, P., Wahr, J., 1999. Tides for a convective Earth. J. Geophys. Res. 104, 1035–1058; Mathews, P.M., 2001. Love numbers and gravimetric factor for diurnal tides. J. Geodetic Soc. Jpn. 46 (4), 231–236] with a mean discrepancy less than 0.15%. However, the GEMGT is in closer accordance with the theoretical model given by Mathews [Mathews, P.M., 2001. Love numbers and gravimetric factor for diurnal tides. J. Geodetic Soc. Jpn. 46 (4), 231–236] for the diurnal tides while it is in closer agreement with one obtained by Dehant et al. [Dehant, V., Defraigne, P., Wahr, J., 1999. Tides for a convective Earth. J. Geophys. Res. 104, 1035–1058] for the semi-diurnal tides.  相似文献

Effective barometric admittance and gravity residuals   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In the analysis of surface gravity signals that may originate from the Earth's core, the step of correcting for the atmospheric pressure fluctuations is one that must be done carefully. We apply two techniques for determining the local, or effective, barometric admittance function between simultaneous observations of surface gravity and pressure. The first is a frequency domain fit that computes the admittance on a band-by-band basis. Using data from both the Canadian and French superconducting gravimeters we determined that the magnitude of the local, or background, admittance increases smoothly and monotonically from about 0.2 μgal mbar−1 at long periods (> 10 days) to about 0.35 μgal mbar−1 at frequencies greater than 3 cycles per day (c.p.d.); the phase lag is within a few degrees of 180°. By comparison, the effective admittances of the large-scale harmonics of the solar heating tide (S1---S7) are much smaller, between 0.1 and 0.3 μgal mbar−1, for most of the harmonics of a day. In the second approach we fit a symmetrical time domain admittance function having lengths between 1 and 19 h using both a standard least-squares fit to a white noise residual and a new, and clearly superior, fit assuming a brown noise residual. Both time and frequency domain approaches give comparable results and contribute to a significant lowering of the residual level in non-tidal bands.  相似文献

A knowledge of the vertical component of the oceanic tidal load to a precision of at least one microgal is essential for the geophysical exploitation of the high-precision absolute and differential gravity measurements which are being made at ground level and in deep boreholes. On the other hand the ocean load and attraction signal contained in Earth tide gravity measurements can be extracted with a precision which is sufficient to characterize the behaviour of the oceanic tides in different basins and this provides a check of the validity of the presently proposed cotidal maps. The tidal gravity profiles made since 1971 from Europe to Polynesia, through East Africa, Asia and Australia, with correctly intercalibrated gravimeters, comprise information from 91 tidal gravity stations which is used in this paper with this goal in mind.A discussion of all possible sources of error is presented which shows that at the level of 0.5 μgal the observed effects cannot be ascribed to computational or instrumental errors. Cotidal maps which generate computed loads in agreement with the Earth tide gravity measurements over a sufficiently broad area can be used with confidence as a working standard to apply tidal corrections to high-precision measurements made by using new techniques in geodesy, geophysics and geodynamics, satellite altimetry, very long baseline interferometry, Moon and satellite laser ranging and absolute gravity. The recent cotidal maps calculated by Schwiderski for satellite altimetry reductions agree very well with land-based gravimeter observations of the diurnal components of the tides (O1, K1 and P1 waves) but his semi-diurnal component maps (M2, S2 and N2 waves) strangely appear less satisfactory in some large areas. The maps of Hendershott and Parke give good results in several large areas but not everywhere. More detailed investigations are needed not only for several coastal stations but mainly in the Himalayas.  相似文献

The redistribution of air masses induces gravity variations (atmospheric pressure effect) up to about 20 μgal. These variations are disturbing signals in gravity records and they must be removed very carefully for detecting weak gravity signals. In the past, different methods have been developed for modelling of the atmospheric pressure effect. These methods use local or two-dimensional (2D) surface atmospheric pressure data and a standard height-dependent air density distribution. The atmospheric pressure effect is consisting of the elastic deformation and attraction term. The deformation term can be well modelled with 2D surface atmospheric pressure data, for instance with the Green's function method. For modelling of the attraction term, three-dimensional (3D) data are required. Results with 2D data are insufficient. From European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) 3D atmospheric pressure data are now available. The ECMWF data used here are characterised by a spacing of Δ and Δλ = 0.5°, 60 pressure levels up to a height of 60 km and an interval of 6 h. These data are used for modelling of the atmospheric attraction term. Two attraction models have been developed based on the point mass attraction of air segments and the gravity potential of the air masses. The modelling shows a surface pressure-independent part of gravity variations induced by mass redistribution of the atmosphere in the order of some μgal. This part can only be determined by using 3D atmospheric pressure data. It has been calculated for the Vienna Superconducting Gravimeter site. From this follows that the gravity reduction can be improved by applying the 3D atmospheric attraction model for analysing long-periodic tidal waves including the polar tide. The same improvement is expected for reduction of long-term absolute gravity measurements or comparison of gravity measurements at different seasonal times. By using 3D atmospheric pressure data, the gravity correction can be improved up to some μgal.  相似文献

Concentrations of 14 different dissolved free amino acids (DFAA), dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), and chlorophyll a were determined in the surface microlayer and subsurface waters at 41 stations in the Yellow Sea, China in April 2006. The concentrations of DFAA in the subsurface water ranged from 0.13 to 1.62 μM, with an average of 0.57±0.05 μM, while those in the surface microlayer varied between 0.22 and 2.6 μM, with an average of 0.94±0.08 μM. Major constituents of DFAA present in the study area were glycine, alanine, glutamic acid, serine and histidine. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed no significant difference in average mol fractions of DFAA between microlayer and subsurface water (F=0.0440, P=0.8355). Hierarchical cluster analysis of the station similarity based on the DFAA composition in both the surface microlayer and subsurface water separated three clusters of stations at the 70% Bray–Curtis similarity level. The average concentrations of chlorophyll a and DIN were 1.18 (0.34–4.44) μg L−1 and 16.57 (3.98–49.59) μM in the subsurface water, and those in the surface microlayer were 1.30 (0.24–3.97) μg L−1 and 18.56 (5.77–48.93) μM, respectively. Our results showed that concentrations of chlorophyll a (r2=0.7940, n=41, p<0.0001), DIN (r2=0.6939, n=41, p<0.0001) and DFAA (r2=0.2416, n=41, P=0.0011) in the microlayer were, respectively, correlated with their subsurface water concentrations, implying that there was a strong exchange effect between the microlayer and subsurface water. The enrichment factor of DFAA in the microlayer ranged from 0.47 to 2.24 with a mean of 1.88±0.16.  相似文献

Surface partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2), temperature, salinity, nutrients, and chlorophyll a were measured in the East China Sea (ECS; 31°30′–34°00′N to 124°00′–127°30′E) in August 2003 (summer), May 2004 (spring), October 2004 (early fall), and November 2005 (fall). The warm and saline Tsushima Warm Current was observed in the eastern part of the survey area during four cruises, and relatively low salinity waters due to outflow from the Changjiang (Yangtze River) were observed over the western part of the survey area. Surface pCO2 ranged from 236 to 445 μatm in spring and summer, and from 326 to 517 μatm in fall. Large pCO2 (values >400 μatm) occurred in the western part of the study area in spring and fall, and in the eastern part in summer. A positive linear correlation existed between surface pCO2 and temperature in the eastern part of the study area, where the Tsushima Warm Current dominates; this correlation suggests that temperature is the major factor controlling surface pCO2 distribution in that area. In the western part of the study area, however, the main controlling factor is different and seasonally complex. There is large transport in this region of Changjiang Diluted Water in summer, causing low salinity and low pCO2 values. The relationship between surface pCO2 and water stability suggests that the amount of mixing and/or upwelling of CO2-rich water might be the important process controlling surface pCO2 levels during spring and fall in this shallow region. Sea–air CO2 flux, based on the application of a Wanninkhof [1992. Relationship between wind speed and gas exchange over the ocean. Journal of Geophysical Research 97, 7373–7382] formula for gas transfer velocity and a set of monthly averaged satellite wind data, were −5.04±1.59, −2.52±1.81, 1.71±2.87, and 0.39±0.18 mmol m−2 d−1 in spring, summer, early fall, and fall, respectively, in the northern ECS. The ocean in this study area is therefore a carbon sink in spring and summer, but a weak source or in equilibrium with the atmosphere in fall. If the winter flux value is assumed to have been the mean of autumnal and vernal values, then the northern ECS absorbs about 0.013 Pg C annually. That result suggests that the northern ECS is a net sink for atmospheric CO2, a result consistent with previous studies.  相似文献

Computer-simulation models of scoria cone degradation   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Long-term erosional modifications of the relatively simple morphology of scoria (‘cinder') cones are ideally suited for study by field and computer-simulation methods. A series of temporally-distinct cones in the San Francisco and Springerville volcanic fields of Arizona provides the foundation for documenting the degradational evolution of scoria cones in a semi-arid climate. Progressive changes due to erosion are illustrated by the systematic decrease with increasing age of various morphometric parameters, including scoria cone height, cone height/width ratio (Hco/Wco), crater depth/width ratio, and slope angle. For example, Holocene–latest Pleistocene cones in the San Francisco field have a mean Hco/Wco value of 0.178±0.041, a mean maximum slope angle of 29.7±4.2°, and a mean average slope angle of 26.4±7.3°, whereas the group of Pliocene cones have values of 0.077±0.024, 20.5±5.8°, and 8.7±2.7°, respectively. Comparative morphology of scoria cones is a potentially useful dating tool for mapping volcanic fields. In order to better understand the degradational modifications of these volcanic landforms, we have developed a numerical approach to simulate the surficial processes responsible for the erosion of a typical scoria cone. The simulation algorithm can apply either a linear diffusion-equation model or a model with a nonlinear transport law. Using a finite-difference formulation, the simulation operates upon a three-dimensional scoria cone input as a matrix of elevation values. Utilizing both field and model results, the correlation between changing Hco/Wco value, cone age, and computer time step was expressed graphically to derive comprehensive values of the transport or diffusion coefficient (Df) for both volcanic fields. For the San Francisco volcanic field, Df had a calculated value of 21.4 m2/kyr for the linear model and 5.3 m/kyr for the nonlinear model, while for the Springerville volcanic field Df had a calculated value of 24.4 m2/kyr for the linear model and 6.3 m/kyr for the nonlinear model.  相似文献

Paleomagnetic data from 46 sites (674 specimens) of the Westcoast Crystalline Gneiss Complex on the west coast of Vancouver Island using AF and thermal demagnetization methods yields a high blocking temperature WCB component (> 560°C) with a pole at 335°W, 66°N (δp = 4°, δm = 6°) and a lower coercivity WCA component ( 25 mT, < 500°C) with a pole at 52°W, 79°N (δp = 7°, δm = 8°). Further thermal demagnetization data from 24 sites in the Jurassic Island Intrusions also defines two high blocking temperature components. The IIA component pole is at 59°W, 79°N (δp = 7°, δm = 8°) and IIB pole at 130°W, 73°N (δp = 12°, δm = 13°). Combined with previous data from the Karmutsen Basalts and mid-Tertiary units on Vancouver Island and from the adjacent Coast Plutonic Complex, the geotectonic motions are examined for the Vancouver Island segment of the Wrangellian Subterrane of composite Terrane II of the Cordillera. The simplest hypothesis invokes relatively uniform translation for Terrane II from Upper Triassic to Eocene time producing 39° ± 6° of northward motion relative to the North American craton, combined with 40° of clockwise rotation during the Lower Tertiary.  相似文献

Silica chimneys were discovered in 1985 at 86°W in the rift valley of the Galapagos Spreading Center at 2600 m depth (“Cauliflower Garden”). The inactive chimneys lack any sulfides and consist almost entirely of amorphous silica (up to 96 wt.% SiO2, opal-A); Fe and Mn oxides are minor constituents. Oxygen isotope data show that formation of the silica chimneys took place at temperatures between 32°C (+29.9‰ δ18O) and 42°C (+27.8‰ δ18O).Th/Udating reveals a maximum age of 1440 ± 300y. Amorphous silica solubility relations indicate that the silica chimneys were formed by conductive cooling of pure hydrothermal fluids or by conductive cooling of a fluid/seawater mixture. Assuming equilibrium with quartz at 500 bars, initial fluid temperatures of more than 175°C (i.e., a concentration of > 182 ppm SiO2) were required to achieve sufficient supersaturation for the deposition of amorphous silica at 40°C and 260 bars. If the silica chimneys originate from the same or a similar fluid as higher-temperature ( < 300°C) sulfide-silica precipitates found nearby (i.e., 2.5 km away), then subsurface deposition of sulfides may have occurred.  相似文献

The geological evolution of the Mesozoic Troodos Ophiolite Complex in Cyprus, and the tectonic nature and timing of the palaeomagnetically indicated anticlockwise rotation of Cyprus of some 80° and ca. 15° northward translation, have been open for debate for some time. New palaeomagnetic data from 18 sites ( 180samples) in the post-ophiolite sediments, ranging in age from Upper Cretaceous to Upper Miocene, are presented. Most of the sites are of normal geomagnetic polarity, but indications of reversed polarity have been found in an older group of sediments (the Lefkara Formation of Upper Palaeocene age).Six sites from the older group of sediments (Upper Cretaceous to Eocene in age) give a site mean direction of the AF cleaned sediments of (D, I) = (323°, 29°) with α95 = 18°, while 5 sites from a younger group of sediments (Oligocene to Miocene in age) give a cleaned site mean direction of (D, I) = (334°, 58°) with α95 = 9°. These and published data suggest that an anticlockwise rotation of Cyprus of 60 ± 10° occurred early during the post-igneous evolution of the Cyprus oceanic crust between 90 and 50Ma, leaving only a minor anticlockwise rotation of 20 ± 10° to occur during the last 50 Ma. It is furthermore concluded that the northward translation of Cyprus of 15° mostly took place during the last 30Ma.It thus appears that a fairly rapid rotation of the Cyprus microplate first took place in the Late Cretaceous and Early Tertiary time with an average angular velocity of 1–2°/Ma, during which the northward translation was minor or negligible. In the latter half of the Tertiary, the sense of movement appears to have radically changed, the northward translation now being dominant with an average velocity of 5–6cm/yr. This temporal evolution is found to be in good agreement with the Mesozoic and Tertiary movements of the African lithospheric plate relative to Europe, as evidenced from the Atlantic sea-floor magnetic anomaly spreading history.  相似文献

To test the possible effect of different fluid compositions on some standard geothermometry techniques, experiments were conducted in which a rhyolite from the Presidio Bolson area of West Texas was interacted with fluids of two different compositions (0.1 M NaCl and 0.01 M NaHCO3). The temperature range was 100–500°C, pressure was 1000 bars, water/rock mass ratios were 6:1 and 5:1, and the duration of the experiments ranged from 12 to 130 days. Results showed that the quartz geothermometer worked well in the experimental system up to temperatures of 400°C. The results were not affected by differences in the major anionic species. The Na-K geothermometer gave temperatures an average of 76°C lower than the experimental temperatures, regardless of fluid type. The experimental data from this study agree well with previous experimental work in feldsparquartz systems. The Na-K-Ca geothermometer did not work well for experiments using 0.01 M NaHCO3 but did work well for experiments using 0.1 M NaCl. Benjamin et al. (1983) concluded that the Na-K-Ca geothermometer is based on alteration reactions rather than feldspar exchange; however, no evidence for alteration reactions was observed in this study.  相似文献

The use of regional attenuation in computing the local magnitude, ML, from strong motion data gathered at distances less than 100 km may lead to systematic underestimates approaching 0·5 magnitude units (Trifunac & Herak, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 1992, 18, 229-41). The use of the attenuation law Att(Δ), for example, with synthetic estimates of Wood-Anderson seismometer response, during the Loma Preita earthquake, leads to estimates of ML which agree with the surface wave and moment magnitudes, and which are essentially distance-independent.  相似文献

We carried out viscosity measurements and sampling of a crystal suspension derived from alkali olivine basalt from the Matsuura district, SW Japan, at subliquidus temperatures from 1230 °C to 1140 °C under 1 atm with NNO oxygen buffered conditions. Viscosity increased from 31 to 1235 Pa s with a decrease in temperature from 1230 to 1140 °C. On cooling, olivine first appeared at 1210 °C, followed by plagioclase at 1170 °C. The crystal content of the sample attained 31 vol.% at 1140 °C (plagioclase 22%, olivine 9%). Non-Newtonian behaviors, including thixotropy and shear thinning, were pronounced in the presence of tabular plagioclase crystals. The cause of such behavior is discussed in relation to shear-induced changes in melt–crystal textures. Relative viscosities, ηr (= ηs / ηm, where ηs and ηm are the viscosities of the suspension and the melt, respectively), were obtained by calculating melt viscosities from the melt composition and temperature at 1 atm using the equation proposed by Giordano and Dingwell [Giordano, D., Dingwell, D.B., 2003. Non-Arrhenian multicomponent melt viscosity: a model. Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 208, 337–349.]. The obtained relative viscosities are generally consistent with the Einstein–Roscoe relation, which represents ηr for suspensions that contain equant and equigranular crystals, even though the crystal suspension analyzed in the present experiments contained tabular plagioclase and granular olivine of various grain sizes. This consistency is attributed to the fact that the effect of crystal shape was counterbalanced by the effect of the dispersion of crystal size. The applicability of the Einstein–Roscoe equation with respect to crystal shape is discussed on the basis of the present experimental results. Our experiments and those of Sato [Sato, H., 2005. Viscosity measurement of subliquidus magmas: 1707 basalt of Fuji volcano. Journal of Mineralogical and Petrological Sciences, 100, 133–142.] show that the relationship between relative viscosity and crystal fraction is consistent with the Einstein–Roscoe relationship for axial ratios that are smaller than the critical value of 4–6.5, but discrepancies occur for higher ratios.  相似文献

Methods used previously to remove compositional modifications from volcanic gas analyses for Mount Etna and Erta'Ale lava lake have bean employed to estimate the gas phase composition at Nyiragongo lava lake, based on samples obtained in 1959. H2O data were not reported in 11 of the 13 original analyses. The restoration methods have been used to estimate the H2O contents of the samples and to correct the analyses for atmospheric contamination, loss of sulfur and for pre- and pest-collection oxidation of H2S, S2, and H2. The estimated gas compositions are relatively CO2-rich, low in total sulfur and reduced. They contain approximately 35–50% CO2 45–55% H2O, 1–2% SO2, 1–2% H2., 2–3% CO, 1.5–2.5% H2S, 0.5% S2 and 0.1% COS over,he collection temperature range 102° to 960° C. The oxygen fugacities of the gases are consistently about half an order of magnitude below quartz-magnetite-fayalite. The low total sulfur content and resulting low atomic S/C of the Nyiragongo gases appear to be related to the relatively low fO2 of the crystallizing lava. At temperatures above 800°C and pressures of 1–1.5 k bar, the Nyiragongo gas compositions resemble those observed in primary fluid inclusions believed to have formed at similar temperatures and pressures in nephelines of intrusive alkaline rocks. Cooling to 300°C, with fO2 buffered by the rock, results in gas compositions very rich in CH4 (50–70%) and resembling secondary fluid inclusions formed at 200–500°C in alkaline rocks. Below 600°C the gases become supersaturated in carbon as graphite. These inferences are corroborated by several reports of hydrocarbons in plutonic alkaline rocks, and by the presence of CH4-rich waters in Lake Kivu — a lake on the flanks of Nyiragongo volcano.  相似文献

In the present work, we built a mathematical model of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) bioaccumulation in Perna viridis, namely, a one-compartment model with a time dependent incorporation rate R (μg g−1 lipid per ppb water per day), with positive substrate cooperativity as the underlying physical mechanism. The temporal change of the PCB concentration Q (μg g−1 lipid) in the soft tissues of the mussel depends on the competition of the input rate RW and the output rate kQ, where W is the concentration of PCB in water (ppb water) and k is the elimination rate (per day). From our experimental data, k=0.181±0.017 d−1. The critical concentration in water Wc for positive substrate cooperativity was found to be 2.4 ppb. Below Wc, R is a constant. For a water concentration of 0.5 ppb Aroclor 1254, R=24.0±2.4 μg g−1 lipid ppb−1 d−1. Above Wc, positive substrate cooperativity comes into effect and R becomes a function of time and dependent on the concentration Q in a form RQ/(Q+δ). This is the case for a water concentration of 5 ppb Aroclor 1254, where γ=15.1 μg g−1 lipid ppb−1 d1 and δ≈200 μg g−1 lipid. From this model, the uptake is exponentially increasing when the PCB concentration in the mussel is small compared to 200 μg g−1 lipid, and hyperbolically increasing when the concentration is large compared to 200 μg g−1 lipid, which are consistent with the experimental data. The model is useful for understanding the true processes taking place during the bioaccumulation and for risk assessment with higher confidence. Future experimental data which challenge the present model are anticipated and in fact desirable for improvement and perfection of the model.  相似文献

An attempt is made to obtain a combined geophysical model along two regional profiles: Black Sea— White Sea and Russian Platform—French Central Massif. The process of the model construction had the following stages: 1. The relation between seismic velocity (Vp, km/s) and density (σ, g/cm3) in crustal rocks was determined from seismic profiles and observed gravity fields employing the trial and error method. 2. Relations between heat production HP (μW/m3), velocity and density were established from heat flow data and crustal models of old platforms where the mantle heat flow HFM is supposed to be constant. The HFM value was also determined to 11 ± 5 mW/m2. 3. A petrological model of the old platform crust is proposed from the velocity-density models and the observed heat flow. It includes 10–12 km of acid rocks, 15–20 km of basic/metamorphic rocks and 7–10 km of basic ones. 4. Calculation of the crustal gravity effects; its substraction from the observed field gave the mantle gravity anomalies. Extensively negative anomalies have been found in the southern part of Eastern Europe (50–70 mgal) and in Western Europe (up to 200 mgal). They correlate with high heat flow and lower velocity in the uppermost mantle. 5. A polymorphic advection mechanism for deep tectonic processes was proposed as a thermal model of the upper mantle. Deep matter in active regions is assumed to be transported (advected) upwards under the crust and in its place the relatively cold material of the uppermost mantle descends. The resulting temperature distribution depends on the type of endogeneous regime, on the age and size of geostructure. Polymorphic transitions were also taken into account.  相似文献

In the light of the single scattering model of coda originating from local earthquakes, and based on the aftershock coda registered respectively at the 4 short period stations installed near the foci shortly after theM7.6 Lancang andM7.2 Gengma earthquakes, this paper has tentatively calculated the rate of amplitude attenuation and theQ c-value of the coda in the Lancang and Gengma areas using a newly-founded synthetic determination method. Result of the study shows the rate of coda amplitude attenuation demonstrates remarkable regional differences respectively in the southern and northern areas. The southern area presents a faster attenuation (Q c=114), whereas the northern area shows a slower attenuation (Q c=231). The paper also discusses the reasons causing such differences. Result of the study also suggests a fairly good linear relation between the coda source factorA o(f) and the seismic moment and the magnitude. Using the earthquake scaling law, the following formulas can be derived: lgM 0=lgA 0(f)+17.6,M D=0.67lgA 0(f)+1.21 and logM 0=1.5M D+15.79. In addition, the rates of amplitude attenuationβ s andβ m are respectively calculated using the single scattering and multiple scattering models, and the ratioβ sm=1.20−1.50 is found for the results respectively from the two models. Finally, the mean free pathL of the S-wave scattering in the southern and northern areas are determined to be 54 km and 122 km respectively by the relations which can distinguish between the inherentQ i and scatteringQ s, testify to this areas having lowQ-values correspond to stronger scatterings.
