Precambrian granitic basement rocks obtained from well BH-36 of Bombay High Field, western offshore of India has been studied both by Rb-Sr and K-Ar dating methods. Seven basement samples chosen from two cores have yielded whole rock Rb-Sr isochron age of 1446 ± 67 Ma with an initial87Sr/86Sr ratio of 0.7062 ± 0.0012. This age has been interpreted as the formation/emplacement time of the granite. Two biotite fractions of different grain size separated from a sample CC6B2T have yielded Rb-Sr mineral isochron age of 1385 ± 21 Ma. However, these fractions when studied by K-Ar dating method have yielded slightly higher but mutually consistent ages of 1458 ± 43 Ma and 1465 ± 43 Ma, respectively. Further, two biotites separated from additional samples CC5B9T and CC6B3B have yielded K-Ar ages of 1452 ± 42 Ma and 1425 ± 40 Ma with an overall mean age of 1438 ± 19 Ma. This mean K-Ar age is indistinguishable from whole rock Rb-Sr isochron as well as mineral isochron age within experimental error. The similarity in the whole rock and biotite ages obtained by different isotopic methods suggests that no thermal disturbance has occurred in these rocks after their emplacement/formation around 1450 Ma ago. The present study provides the evidence for the existence of an important Middle Proterozoic magmatic event around 1400-1450 Ma on the western offshore of India which, hitherto, was thought to be mainly confined to the eastern Ghats, Satpura and Delhi fold belt of India. This finding may have an important bearing on the reconstruction of Proterozoic crustal evolution of western Indian shield.  相似文献

河南省嵩县大石门沟钼矿床是近年来在豫西地区新发现的大型钼矿床,采用辉钼矿Re-Os精细测年技术,对与成矿相关的5个含辉钼矿角砾岩样品、3个含辉钼矿的破碎石英样品进行同位素年代学测定,获得了模式年龄:模式年龄变化范围(156.1±3.4)~(228.0±4.1)Ma,模式年龄明显分为2组:一组为(208.4±3.1)~(228.0+4.1)Ma,平均年龄(218.07±4.3)Ma,加权平均年龄(217.1±8.5)Ma,另一组为(156.1±3.4)~(160.9±3.3)Ma,平均年龄(158.6±3.35)Ma,加权平均年龄(158.6±4.7)Ma。结果表明,大石门沟钼矿成矿时代为印支期、燕山晚期。2个期次的成矿作用又与该区隐爆角砾岩的两次隐爆有关。印支期的成岩成矿发生在东秦岭钼矿带碰撞造山后的构造体制从挤压到伸展的转折期,上地幔、下地壳的部分熔融产物上涌在地壳薄弱的NW向与NE向构造交叉部位隐爆产生。燕山晚期成矿作用继承、改造和叠加印支期成矿作用,两者一起构成东秦岭钼矿带中生代成矿作用大爆发的完整旋回。  相似文献

Comprehensive mineralogical analysis, Mössbauer spectroscopy and isotopic-geochronological study have been carried out for globular phyllosilicates (GPS) of glauconite group from the Uk Formation, the second one below the top of the Upper Riphean stratotype in the southern Urals. Glauconites have been sampled in the Kurtaza and Kulmas sections remote from each other in the Alatau anticlinorium that corresponds to western facies zone of the Bashkirian meganticlinorium. As is shown, size and density monomineral fractions of globules are represented by Al-glauconite according to established structural formula. The isotopic (Rb-Sr and K-Ar) dating of glauconites from the Uk Formation is performed for the first time along with computer simulation of cation arrangements in their crystal lattice and comparison of the results obtained with data of Mössbauer spectroscopy. It has been assumed by simulation that origin and transformation of the Rb-Sr and K-Ar systems in glauconite are concurrent to stages in structural evolution of this mineral, which have been controlled by geological and geochemical events in the history of sedimentary successions. The approach has been aimed at recognition of stratigraphically meaningful isotopic dates corresponding to the glauconite formation at the stage of the early diagenesis close to sedimentation time and the “rejuvenated” dates characterizing ages of subsequent geological events. The comparison of simulated cation arrangements with data of Mössbauer spectroscopy shows that the Rb-Sr (663 ± 9 Ma) and K-Ar (669 ± 16 Ma) dates established for glauconites correspond to the time of early diagenesis in their host sediments, being suitable for age assessment of the Uk Formation. The dates obtained are of interregional and wider significance, as they must be taken into consideration when constructing the general curve of Sr isotope variations in the Late Riphean oceans.  相似文献

Mesozoic volcanic rocks in southeastern Jilin Province are an important component of the huge Mesozoic volcanic belt in the northeastern area. Study of the age of their formation is of great significance to recognize Mesozoic volcanic rule in northeastern China. Along with the research of rare Mesozoic biota and extensive Mesozoic mineralization in western Liaoning, a number of researchers have focused on Mesozoic volcanic events. The authors studied the ages of the Cretaceous volcanic rocks in southeastern Jilin Province using single Zircon U-Pb. The result shows that the Sankeyushu Formation volcanic rocks in the Tonghua area are 119.2 Ma in age, the Yingcheng Formation in the Jiutai area 113.4±3.1 Ma, the Jinjiatun Formation in Pinggang Town of Liaoyuan City and the Wufeng volcanic rocks in the Yanji area 103.2±4.7 Ma and 103.6±1 Ma, respectively. Combined with the data of recent publication on volcanic rocks ages; the Cretaceous volcanic events in southeastern Jilin Province can be tentatively subdivided into three eruption periods: 119 Ma, 113 Ma and 103 Ma. The result not only provides important chronology data for subdividing Mesozoic strata in southeastern Jilin Province, establishing Mesozoic volcanic event sequence, discussing geological tectonic background, and surveying the relation between noble metals to the Cretaceous volcanic rocks, but also offers important information of Mesozoic volcanism in northeastern China.  相似文献

Rb-Sr and K-Ar ages are reported from the Mkushi Gneiss Complex and its intrusives in central Zambia. Of the Rb-Sr whole-rock data of the Mkushi gneisses (three suites, 22 samples) only one suite (six samples) defines an isochron of 1777 ± 89 Ma with initial 87Sr/86Sr of 0.713 ± 0.0006 (errors 95% confidence level; λ87Rb = 1.42·10−11 a−1). The other samples scatter below this isochron, but above a 1480 Ma line. Four hornblendes from amphibolitic dykes yield K-Ar ages between 864 and 804 Ma. Whole-rocks of the ‘red facies’ of the intrusive Mtuga Granite (nine samples) define an isochron of 607 ± 39 Ma with initial 87Sr/86Sr of 0.730 ± 0.005. The ‘white facies’ of the Mtuga Granite (four samples) and probably also the copper-bearing aplitic veins (seven samples) are of the same age, but with even higher initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios. Seven biotites from the Mkushi gneisses yield Rb-Sr and K-Ar ages between 469 Ma and 444 Ma. These data are interpreted to signal (1) about 1780 Ma ago: emplacement of the granitoid precursors of the Mkushi gneisses, derived from older continental material, (2) between about 1480 Ma and 860 Ma ago: formation of the Mkushi gneisses and the amphibolites (probably during the Irumide orogeny, about 1350 Ma ago); (3) between about 860 Ma and 800 Ma ago: closure of the hornblendes to K-Ar (490–550°C) after resetting (probably in relation to the c. 860 Ma old tectono-thermal event widespread in eastern and eastern-central Africa), (4) about 600 Ma ago: intrusion of the Mtuga Granite and the copper-bearing splites (post-tectonic Pan-African), possibly derived from the Mkushi gneisses, and (5) about 460-450 Ma ago: closure of the biotites to Rb-Sr and K-Ar (approximately 400°C), reflecting the final regional cooling (termination of the Pan-African events). Glauconite pellets from the Lower Silurian Brassfield Formation on both limbs of the Cincinnati Arch in Ohio and Indiana give a RbSr age of 370 ± 11 Ma, which is substantially younger than the stratigraphic age of the formation. The age is concordantcwith conventional KAr ages of 355 ± 6 and 368 ± 5 Ma for two of the same glauconites. Concordant ages were also obtained from the Viburnum Trend in Missouri, where glauconite pellets from the Davis Formation in an ore-zone collapse structure into the underlying Bonneterre Formation give a RbSr age of 387 ± 21 Ma and conventional KAr ages of 368 ± 5 and 369 ± 5 and 369 ± 5 Ma. A third suite of glauconite from the Bonneterre Formation in the Old Lead Belt ~ 10 km from the nearest ore body has given a RbSr age of 423 ± 7 Ma and slightly older conventional KAr ages of 434 ± 6, 445 ± 6 and 441 ± 11 Ma.Because these glauconite-bearing rocks have been buried to depths of less than 1 km, thermal resetting of the RbSr and KAr systematics appears unlikely. The initial 87Sr86Sr ratios of the RbSr isochrons are similar to the ratios for vein- and vug-filling dolomite and calcite. This is consistent with resetting of the RbSr and KAr systems during diagenetic changes which included the isotopic equilibration (perhaps by cation exchange) of the Sr in the glauconite with that in the diagenetic and Mississippi Valley-type ore fluids. This interpretation implies that the age of the Mississippi Valley-type mineralization in the Viburnum Trend is Devonian rather than Carboniferous—Permian as has been inferred from paleomagnetic measurements.Cation-exchange experiments with a dilute Sr-bearing solution and an artificial oilfield brine indicate that glauconite adsorbs large amounts of Sr, some of which is sufficiently strongly attached to the glauconite lattice as to resist leaching with ammonium acetate. The introduction of this strongly attached Sr may be the first step in the resetting of the RbSr systematics of glauconite by cation exchange.  相似文献

古北口逆冲推覆构造在区域上位于“尚义-平泉”大断裂带的中段,属燕山期板内造山运动产物。发育在中生代断陷盆地的北侧,由两条主断裂控制上、下两个推覆体由北向南依次逆冲,原地系统由中生代土城子组及以下地层构成。根据对断裂带中同构造期的石英正长岩脉的样品K-Ar法测年,获得同位素年龄为(16.1±2.3)Ma,故认为本区逆冲推覆构造形成时代应在中侏罗世—晚侏罗世之间。中生代地层中局部形成脆韧性变形带。  相似文献

对蓟县剖面杨庄组和雾迷山组白云岩中条带状燧石采用40Ar/39Ar阶段加热技术和Cl-Ar相关性,消除了样品中次生流体包体及过剩Ar的干扰,从而获得燧石40Ar/39Ar等时年龄。结果表明高于庄组-杨庄组、杨庄组-雾迷组和雾迷山-洪水庄组的界限年龄分别是1380、1310和1207Ma.  相似文献

西藏改则地区美苏组岩浆岩锆石U-Pb年龄及地质意义   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
西藏中部南羌塘改则盆地美苏组由砖红色砂砾岩和火山岩夹层组成,一些学者在美苏组建组剖面等地获得古新世-始新世的K-Ar年龄(34.0~69.1Ma),目前对其形成时代还缺少可靠的年代学约束。应用激光烧蚀多接收器电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(LA-MC-ICP-MS)方法,对改则盆地美苏组沉积地层中的流纹岩、石英粗安岩和花岗斑岩中锆石进行了U-Pb同位素测定。结果表明,改则盆地美苏组红层中的三个火山岩样品及一个侵入岩样品岩浆锆石206Pb/238U年龄分别为38.3±0.5 Ma、39.0±0.3 Ma、37.4±0.4 Ma、38.8±0.6 Ma,从而限定了该地区美苏组沉积时代为始新世晚期。改则地区美苏组岩浆岩形成时代为班公湖-怒江缝合带调节印度-欧亚大陆碰撞之后高原内部刚性块体向东"逃逸"而重新活动提供了年代学证据。   相似文献

大东沟铅锌矿位于新疆阿尔泰南缘的克兰盆地,赋存于康布铁堡组上亚组火山-沉积岩系,矿体直接围岩为变质钙质砂岩及不纯的大理岩,矿体呈层状、似层状、透镜状分布,与地层产状一致。利用LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb测年法,获得矿区2件康布铁堡组上亚组变质流纹岩加权平均年龄分别为(388.9±3.2)Ma(MSWD=3.3)和(400.7±1.6)Ma(MSWD=1.3)。结合前人的年龄数据,将克兰盆地康布铁堡组的时代厘定为晚志留世末期至早泥盆世(413~389 Ma)。大东沟铅锌矿为火山岩容矿的喷流沉积型矿床(VMS),2件变质流纹岩年龄限定大东沟铅锌矿的成矿作用发生在早泥盆世(401~389 Ma)。  相似文献

应用云母Rb Sr等时线法对大别山高级变质岩的后期改造历史进行了初步的探讨。采用重液变温技术将云母按比重的区别 ,分成若干组分 ,然后用常规的Rb Sr方法测定。应用这种技术对大别山黄土岭太古代麻粒岩相岩石中的黑云母和产于超高压变质带内的石马含石榴石片麻岩的白云母进行了Rb Sr等时线年龄测定。黄土岭太古代麻粒岩相片麻岩中的黑云母 全岩Rb Sr等时线年龄为 12 7± 9Ma ,与该区片麻岩中的角闪石的K Ar和Ar Ar年龄 ,及燕山期花岗岩的Rb Sr年龄一致 ,说明这一太古代下地壳岩石受到了燕山期深熔 岩浆事件的影响 ;大别山东南部石马含石榴石片麻岩 (榴辉岩相 )中的白云母Rb Sr等时线年龄为 191± 10Ma ,反映了印支 早燕山期区域性低级变质事件的时代。研究表明 ,大别山区的不同构造单元中产出的不同类型的高级变质岩自中生代以来有不同的后期演化历史。  相似文献

Tuffaceous mudrocks are common in the banded iron‐formations (BIF) of the Brockman Iron Formation. These tuffaceous mudrocks are either stilpnomelane‐rich or siliceous. Their compositions reflect bimodal volcanic activity in the vicinity of the Hamersley BIF depositional site. They also contain complex zircon populations that record resedimentation, syndepositional volcanism and post‐depositional isotopic disturbance. The best estimates of depositional age are obtained from siliceous tuffaceous mudrocks in the Joffre Member that contain 2459 ± 3 Ma and 2454 ± 3 Ma zircon populations most likely derived from felsic volcanism coeval with BIF deposition. These dates constrain the sedimentation rates for the ~370 m‐thick Joffre Member BIF to >15 m per million years. Siliceous tuffaceous mudrocks are not present in the underlying ~120 m‐thick Dales Gorge Member and it is uncertain whether previously reported ages of ca 2479–2470 Ma for this unit reflect detrital/xenocrystic or syndepositional zircon populations in resedimented stilpnomelane‐rich tuffaceous mudrocks. The increased abundance of tuffaceous mudrocks in the Joffre Member suggests that a pulse of enhanced igneous and hydrothermal activity accompanied deposition of the bulk of the Brockman Iron Formation BIF after ca 2460 Ma. This preceded and culminated in the emplacement of the 2449 ± 3 Ma large igneous province represented by BIF and igneous rocks of the Weeli Wolli Formation and Woongarra Rhyolite.  相似文献

富含热河生物群鸟类和恐龙化石的辽西白垩纪地层属于中生代陆相火山沉积,其不同区域之间的地层对比和时代归属一直存有较大争议。本文采用激光40Ar/39Ar年代学方法,对葫芦岛新台门地区一个实测剖面中蝾螈化石点下伏的两层火山岩夹层进行了年代学研究。通过地层中火山岩夹层及火山岩颈的年代学测定,获得6组激光40Ar/39Ar年代结果。其中,下部层位中的流纹岩和安山质玄武岩样品XTM-3、XTM-5年龄结果分别为94.2±1.3Ma、93.7±1.3Ma;作为这一期喷发晚期就位的火山岩颈样品XTM-7的年龄结果为92.8±0.4Ma;而上部层位的安山岩和安山玄武岩火山岩夹层样品XTM-6、XTM-8、XTM-9年龄分别为110.1±1.0Ma、110.9±0.5Ma、93.7±1.2Ma。随后我们又从XTM-9位置的化石点下部采集样品XTM-9-2,进行实验验证。得到的结果表明,新台门地区早白垩世地层记录了至少两期火山喷发事件,喷发时间分别为110Ma和93Ma。根据测年结果,新台门白垩系的蝾螈化石层应代表中国北方中生代地层中迄今所发现的有尾两栖类化石纪录的最高层位,可能与辽西地区的九佛堂组或甚至与阜新组相当。  相似文献

Five volcanic rock samples and two granite samples taken from the volcanic basins in western Fujian and southern Jiangxi were dated by using the zircon laser albation-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry U-Pb method. Together with previously dated ages, the dates obtained provide important constraints on the timing of late Mesozoic tectonic events in SE China. The volcanic rock samples yield ages of 183.1±3.5 Ma, ca. 141 Ma to 135.8±1.1 Ma, 100.4±1.5 to 97.6±1.1 Ma, confirming three episodes of late Mesozoic volcanic activities, which peaked at 180±5 Ma, 140±5 Ma and 100±5 Ma, respectively, along the Wuyishan belt. Moreover, based on field investigations of these volcano-sedimentary basins, we have recognized two compressional tectonic events along this belt. The early one was characterized by Upper Triassic to Middle Jurassic NNE-trending folds that were intruded by late Jurassic granites; and the late one caused the Lower Cretaceous volcano-sedimentary layer to be tilted. The dated age 152.9±1.4 Ma of the granitic samples from the Hetian granitic pluton in the Changting Basin and that from the Baishiding granitic pluton, 100.2±1.8 Ma, in the Jianning Basin, give the upper boundaries of these two tectonic events respectively. Hence, the late Mesozoic tectonic evolution of SE China was alternated between extension and compression.  相似文献

A new CA-ID TIMS U–Pb age of 130.39 ± 0.16 Ma is presented here from the Pilmatué Member of the Agrio Formation, lower Hauterivian of the Neuquén Basin in west-central Argentina. This high precision radioisotopic new age, together with the two former ones from the upper Hauterivian Agua de la Mula Member of the Agrio Formation and modern cyclostratigraphic studies in the classical sections of the Mediterranean Province of the Tethys indicate that the Hauterivian Stage spans some 6 Ma, starting ca. 132 Ma and ending ca. 126 Ma. These radioisotopic ages are tied to ammonite biostratigraphy and calcareous nannofossil bioevents and biozones recognized in the Neuquén Basin which in turn are correlated with the Mediterranean standard zones. A new geological time scale for the Valanginian–Hauterivian stages in the Mediterranean region integrating astrochronological and radiochronological data differs with the current official geological time scale which still maintains poorly constraint absolute ages for the Berriasian-Aptian interval.  相似文献

Systematic research over years on datable horizons of lower Miocene age has led to an election of nine glauconite samples suitable for dating work. The chosen glauconites come from various regions of the tethys. Following careful sedimentological as well as stratigraphical studies the K-Ar ages of these glauconites were measured. The interpretation of the apparent ages found takes into consideration sedimentation, mineralogical quality and present knowledge of the genesis of the green glauconite pellets. The presented data allow to fix the basis of the Miocene at about 21–22 m. y. and the boundary of Aquitanian-Burdigalian at 18 m. y. The K-Ar data on glauconites presented here are in good agreement with newer measurements of other authors on high temperature minerals of the same age span.  相似文献

The Taipingchuan Cu–Mo deposit is a recently discovered large porphyry deposit located in the north of the Derbugan metallogenic belt of northeastern China. The geochronological data of the deposit yielded a Late Triassic zircon U–Pb age of 202 ± 6 Ma from a granodiorite porphyry that hosts the Cu–Mo mineralization. Measured Re–Os isotopes of seven disseminated molybdenite samples yielded an isochron age of 200 ± 5 Ma with mean square of weighted deviates of 2.7, while those of seven veinlet molybdenite samples also produced an isochron age of 200.1 ± 2.5 Ma and mean square of weighted deviates of 3.3. These isochron ages show that a Cu–Mo mineralization event occurred at ca. 200 Ma. Based on regional tectonic evolution, we propose that the Late Triassic Cu–Mo mineralization of the host porphyry in the Derbugan metallogenic belt was mainly associated with the subduction of the Mongol–Okhotsk Ocean slab under the Ergun block, contrary to previous suggestion that it was related to the subduction of the Mesozoic Palaeo-Pacific plate.  相似文献

江西省冷水坑矿区火成岩-构造演化一直缺少系统的年代学制约.作者运用LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb和40Ar/39Ar测年技术,对冷水坑矿区两套火山岩地层(打鼓顶组和鹅湖岭组)、含矿花岗斑岩和主推覆断层F2进行了年代学测试,结果表明,打鼓顶组流纹质含角砾熔结凝灰岩形成于160.8±1.9Ma,鹅湖岭组合角砾熔结凝灰岩则具有间歇性和多期喷发特点,其最初活动时间为159Ma,而主体形成于146.6±2.2Ma;矿区含矿花岗斑岩与打鼓顶组、鹅湖岭组几乎同期形成,年龄介于163.6 ±2.1Ma~154.3±3.0Ma之间;研究区构造活动起始时间不晚于加里东期,推覆断层F2中保留有40Ar/39Ar年龄为398.5±2.6Ma的构造活动痕迹,中生代重新复活,导致震旦系叠覆于鹅湖岭组之上,年龄晚于146.6Ma,可能对含矿斑岩体起破坏作用.  相似文献

繁昌盆地是长江中下游地区重要的陆相火山断陷盆地之一。本文对繁昌火山岩盆地中分村组粗安岩、赤沙组黑云母粗安斑岩、蝌蚪山组流纹岩、三梁山组黑云母粗面岩进行了锆石LA-ICPMSU-Pb测年,获得其年龄分别为134.4±2.9、131.3±1.8、130.8±2.2、128.1±3.1Ma,显示盆地内火山岩浆活动的时限约在135~128Ma之间,火山岩均为早白垩世岩浆活动的产物。同时在火山岩中测得了多颗继承或捕获锆石的古老年龄,其中最大的为2894Ma,可能对应了2.7Ga峰值年龄的全球性岩浆活动和大陆生长,一定程度上为繁昌盆地可能存在太古宙基底提供了证据。对比显示,繁昌盆地中生代火山岩与长江中下游地区其它断陷盆地火山岩几乎形成于同一时期,与庐枞、宁芜盆地的4个旋回火山活动可以完全对应,而135Ma可以作为长江中下游地区陆相火山断陷盆地早白垩世火山岩浆活动全面展开的时间。盆地内中生代火山活动期(135~128Ma)处于中国东部岩石圈减薄的高峰期,火山岩正是这一地球动力背景下深源岩浆活动的产物。  相似文献

The Chayu area is located at the southeastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This region was considered to be in the southeastward extension of the Lhasa Block, bounded by Nujiang suture zone in the north and Yarlung Zangbo suture zone in the south. The Demala Group complex, a set of high-grade metamorphic gneisses widely distributed in the Chayu area, is known as the Precambrian metamorphic basement of the Lhasa Block in the area. According to field-based investigations and microstructure analysis, the Demala Group complex is considered to mainly consist of banded biotite plagiogneisses, biotite quartzofeldspathic gneiss, granitic gneiss, amphibolite, mica schist, and quartz schist, with many leucogranite veins. The zircon U-Pb ages of two granitic gneiss samples are 205 ± 1 Ma and 218 ± 1 Ma, respectively, representing the ages of their protoliths. The zircons from two biotite plagiogneisses samples show core-rim structures. The U-Pb ages of the cores are mainly 644 –446 Ma, 1213 –865 Ma, and 1780 –1400 Ma, reflecting the age characteristics of clastic zircons during sedimentation of the original rocks. The U-Pb ages of the rims are from 203 ± 2 Ma to 190 ± 1 Ma, which represent the age of metamorphism. The zircon U-Pb ages of one sample taken from the leucogranite veins that cut through granitic gneiss foliation range from 24 Ma to 22 Ma, interpreted as the age of the anatexis in the Demala Group complex. Biotite and muscovite separates were selected from the granitic gneiss, banded gneiss, and leucogranite veins for 40Ar/39Ar dating. The plateau ages of three muscovite samples are 16.56 ± 0.21 Ma, 16.90 ± 0.21 Ma, and 23.40 ± 0.31 Ma, and the plateau ages of four biotite samples are 16.70 ± 0.24 Ma, 16.14 ± 0.19 Ma, 15.88 ± 0.20 Ma, and 14.39 ± 0.20 Ma. The mica Ar-Ar ages can reveal the exhumation and cooling history of the Demala Group complex. Combined with the previous research results of the Demala Group complex, the authors refer that the Demala Group complex should be a set of metamorphic complex. The complex includes not only Precambrian basement metamorphic rock series, but also Paleozoic sedimentary rock and Mesozoic granitic rock. Based on the deformation characteristics, the authors concluded that two stages of the metamorphism and deformation can be revealed in the Demala Group complex since the Mesozoic, namely Late Triassic-Early Jurassic (203 –190 Ma) and Oligocene –Miocene (24 –14 Ma). The early stage of metamorphism (ranging from 203 –190 Ma) was related to the Late Triassic tectono-magmatism in the area. The anatexis and uplifting-exhumation of the later stage (24 –14 Ma) were related to the shearing of the Jiali strike-slip fault zone.
